Recommend: Those who loved the Mortal Instruments Series. Those who wanted to read more about Jace and Clary, now that they are together! YEA!
Highlights: *Jace and Clary are together! I will say that tension runs high between them. Jace still needs to learn that Clary is a big girl and needs to trust her. *Simon is playing the field. Yes, he is dating two girls, Maia and Isabel at the same time. It is funny watching him try to correct the mistake. I have to say I was rooting for Isabel. She may seem cold, but I think it hides the real her. *Everyone has secrets in this book. It tears some apart, but some stay strong and together. *Demon hunting abounds and shadowhunters end up dead. *Babies are being abandoned. *Luke and Jocelyn get married. *Someone comes back from the dead!
Things that bothered me: *Switched views a little much for me. It was hard to follow sometimes. *Thought Clary and Jace learned to communicate before, however I was wrong. This caused frustration and heartburn. Well maybe not the heartburn.
Quotes: "No. That's Clary; shes's my best friend." Simon pocketed his phone. "And she has a boyfriend. Like, really, really, really has a boyfriend. The nuclear bomb of boyfriends. Trust me on this one."
"You're just worried they'll hire a male instructor and he'll be hotter than you." Jace's eyebrows went up. "Hotter than me?" "It could happen," Clary said, "You know, theoretically." "Theoretically the planet could suddenly crack in half, leaving me on one side and you on the other, forever and tragically parted, but I'm not worried about that either. Some things," Jace said, with his customary crooked smile, "are just too unlikely to dwell upon."
"So what was that all about?" "I think," Jace said, "that she asked if she could touch my mango." "She said that?" Jace shrugged. "Yeah, then she gave me her number."
"You know, some people think Shadowhunters are just myths. Like mummies and genies." Kyle grinned at Jace. "Can you grant wishes?" "That depends," he (Jace) said. "Do you wish to be punched in the face?"
"But I watch my brothers give their hearts away and I think, Don’t you know? Hearts are breakable. And I think even when you heal, you’re never what you were before."

I am now finally getting around to posting a review oBefore I go any farther I have to say that I love this series and have re-read it tons of times. I am now finally getting around to posting a review of this Great book and Amazing Series!
Warning: You may not be able to put this book down! Curran Addiction is a huge possibility!
Recommend: I recommend this to anyone who wants a Great Urban Fantasy or Paranormal Romance. It has enough for either of them. If you are looking for a Kick-Butt Female Character and a Sexy Alpha Male then look no farther!
Tons of Action and a dash of romance that adds to the flavor of the book. Yummy and deliciously filling.
We enter a "Whole New World" at the beginning of this book. Atlanta, Georgia (where the book takes place) and the rest of the world has suffered from a "magic apocalypse." We meet Kate Daniels right from the start. She is sitting at home enjoying her Boone's Farm Hard Lemonade. She gets a surprise visit from a Vampire who is being piloted by Ghastek, a Master Vampire. Kate is not happy having an undead in her house and shows her love by slicing it's throat open. Yes, she did that while she was sitting down. Ghastek proceeds to inform her that the man who helped raise her, Greg, has been murdered. For this information he asks for her help in solving the murder since one of his own was also killed off. We then get to watch as Kate wrestles her way into solving this murder to get revenge and closer for Greg. In the process she gains his home and more "power words." It seems that Atlanta's Shifters seem to be caught up in this mess as well. The Beast Lord himself, Curran, asks to meet with her and wants the same cooperation that the Vampires do. The stage is set and the players are let loose. It is a fight to the end to see who will come out on top and who is guilty of murder.
*Kate Daniels is one of my fav. female characters of all time. Her past is so messed up it is amazing she turned out decent at all. She is a fighter as she has been raised to be, by her mothers "lover."
*Curran is the ultimate sexy male in this book series and rivals many in other series in my opinion. He is the Alpha over all the shifters in the region. He shifts into a mighty, mighty lion. [image error]
"Here, Kitty, Kitty, Kitty"
"It's a reflex. Hear a bell, get food. See an undead, throw a knife. Same thing, really."
"Why a raven?" To honor my father." The writing under it, is that Cyrillic?" Yes." What does it say?" Dar Vorona. Gift of the Raven. I am my father's gift" The raven is holding a bloody sword." I never said it was a nice gift."
"Men and swords. My father said that if you put any able-bodied man, no matter how peaceful, into a room with a sword and a practice dummy and leave him alone, eventually the man would pick up the sword and try to stab the dummy. It is human nature."
"He finished the bandage and was examining it critically. “You know those things are unreliable”. His voice held just a touch of reproach. “Eleven out of twelve work fine. I’d say that’s better chances than getting an orgasm with a blind date and women still try”. ...more

Highlights: -Merit and Ethan become a thing!!!!!!!Unfortunatly, it only last for a day. Very sad but I am hoping for more in the next book. -Gabriel the leader of the shifters comes to town to ask the pack to stay or go. Great debate....Merit and Ethan's services are on loan... -Ethan's old flame shows up after Merit and Ethan brake up.Not good for self esteem but all gather around Merit to show their support.
"You undo me, Merit. Wholly and completely. You don't take me at my word. You challenge me at every opportunity. And that means when I'm with you, I am less than the head of this House...and I am more than the head of this House. I am a man." He stroked my cheeks with his thumbs. "In my very, very long life, I need you more than I have ever needed anything."
"He paused, then tapped a finger against the box. “This is a wish,” he said quietly, “that even after four hundred years of existence, a man can be strong enough to accept the gifts he’s given.” “Ethan—,” I began, but he shook his head. “I’m prepared to wait for a positive response.” “That’s going to take a while.” Ethan lifted a single eyebrow, a grin lifting one corner of his mouth. “Sentinel, I am immortal."
"Lindsey patted my arm. “Don’t be embarrassed. It’s about time you two made the beast with two backs.” I had to work to form words. “There are so many things wrong with that statement, I don’t know where to start."...more
Loved it MORE than the first 2 books! UFC meets paranormal. This book has some great action. Plus Kate and Curran finally admit to their attraction.
ReLoved it MORE than the first 2 books! UFC meets paranormal. This book has some great action. Plus Kate and Curran finally admit to their attraction.
Recommend: Fantasy/SciFi lovers who want a little romance thrown in. Must Read Series.
positives: *Kate gets even more bad*ss. You thought taking on vamps and shifters were awesome. Wait till you see her in the ring with fighting till the death. *add in sexy Curran(Beast Lord) who not only is checking his "mate dance" list off (Yea, Kate and Curran!!) but must stop the games or join them. *most surprised with Dali. I mean she can curse through calligraphy. *You might get a little teary eyed and then on the next page pissed off. Kate 0-60 in 3 sec. with her emotions.
things that caused hair pulling: *sometimes hard to understand about the rakshasas. *frusterated with Kate and Curran and why they can't just agree to date.(Next book solves this)
"Curran looked back at me. "Why is it you always attract creeps?" "You tell me." Ha! Walked right into that one, yes, he did."
"Every time I think you’ve reached the limits of arrogance, you show me new heights. Truly, your egotism is like the Universe—ever expanding."
"You thought about dragging me into your bed this morning.” I thought about stabbing you and running away screaming. You broke into my house without permission and slobbered all over me. You’re a damn lunatic! And don’t give me that line about smelling my desire; I know it’s bullshit.” I didn’t need to smell you. I could tell by the dreamy look in your eyes and the way your tongue licked the inside of my mouth."
"He scooped me up and suddenly I was pressed against his chest. “Were you worried about me?” "No, I’m ranting for fun, because I’m a disagreeable bitch!"
The Best one so far! Potential for tears so keep tissues handy.

Highlights: *Kate and Curran give into their feelings. Sparks fly and change everything. *Kate continues to kick butt but meets her match in her Aunt. Oh Yeah, Family Reunion is not a winner. *Kate's Great Reveal! Will Curran understand? *Most surprised by Mahon. I didn't think he would take the Kate/Curran thing so hard.
Warning: *be prepared to cry, laugh, hold your breath and be pissed off throughout! The ride is worth it. *will make you want more. Check out http://ilona-andrews.com for snippets. It will help hold you over.
"I can't give you the white picket fence, and if I did, you'd set it on fire."
"He leaned his head to me, his neck so close to my lips, I felt the heat coming off his skin. His breath was warm against my ear. His voice was a ragged snarl. "I miss you." This wasn't happening. "I worry about you." He dipped his head and looked into my eyes. "I worry something stupid will happen and I won't be there and you'll be gone. I worry we won't ever get a chance and it's driving me out of my skull." No, no, no, no......... We stared at each other. The tiny space between us felt too hot. Muscles bulged on his naked frame. He looked feral. Mad gold eyes stared into mine. "Do you miss me, Kate?" I closed my eyes trying to shut him out. I could lie then we would be back to square one. Nothing would be resolved. I'd still be alone, hating him and wanting him. He grabbed my shoulders and shook me once. "Do you miss me?" I took the plunge. "Yes." ...more

Great addition to the Edge series.
Quotes: "The judge's massive eyebrows crept up. "Kaldar. Are you the one speaking for the plaintiff today?" "Yes, Your Honor." "Well, shit," Dobe said. "I guess you're familiar with the law. You hit it over the head, set its house on fire, and got its sister pregnant."
"That had to be the craziest thing he'd heard. At some point they must've looked around and said, "Hey, what do we have a shitload of?" "Mud! It's cold and wet. I know, let's burn it!" "Well, it ain't good for nothing else." What the hell? He supposed if fish could have legs, then mud could burn. Spider or nor spider, if their cats started flying, he would be out of here like a rocket."
"Fuck easy, Ceri. If you love him, fight for him. Nothing worth keeping is free in this world." ...more
Devon Monk, you made me cry! Okay, so they were tears of joy. The book was awesome. I fell in love with Allie and Zayvion during ‘Magic to the Bone’ aDevon Monk, you made me cry! Okay, so they were tears of joy. The book was awesome. I fell in love with Allie and Zayvion during ‘Magic to the Bone’ and Shame and Terric endeared themselves to me with ‘Magic in the Shadow’ and ‘Magic on the Storm.’ Has it really been 6 books already? It just is not long enough. Thank goodness the series is still going.
Highlights: *Allie is still kicking butt throughout the book next to her lover and soul compliment, Zayvion. *Their bond is still strong and much needed during the book to help balance the wrongs that were done. *Allie and Daddy Beckstrom seem to get along better thanks to Victor. *Shame and Terric add the comic relief needed amongst all the action. *Baby Backstrom makes first appearance. Excitement and tears abound. *Most shocked by Mikhail! He is the Black Knight of this book. I know SHOCKING!
Warnings: *You might want tissues handy towards the end. I admit I did cry. I can't help it being a Mom of 2 and 1 on the way. This book is hard to set down because it is action packed in every page. Pizza is what's for dinner.
Favorite Quotes: "And it's just a hunt?" Bea asked. "Just tracking the guy down, or are we going to have to do a little covering up of our own?" Had she just told me she was willing to kill someone and cover it up? She gave me a happy smile, but that glint in her eyes told me that, yes, she'd just offered to off someone."
"Dad pressed against my mind. Please, Allison. Let me, just this once, hold my son. I shouldn't. Nothing good ever came from letting my father have his way. But I could feel his love for this baby. And even if he couldn't love me, I knew that at this moment, before the baby could grow up and become a disappointment to him, he truly loved him. I slowly stepped away from the front of my mind, letting him fill that space, letting him feel through my hands, see through my eyes. "He's amazing," Dad said through me. "You're amazing." He looked up at Violet, and she smiled."
"I glanced up at Zay, then walked over to stand next to him. "You look good with a baby in your arms," he murmured. I took his hand, careful with his fingers that were still wrapped in tape. "Don't get your hopes up, Jones. I'm not the settling-down type." "Want to bet on that?" he asked. "Sure." I made a fist; so did he. We pumped three times. I threw paper. Zayvion threw scissors. I'd lost. Startled, I looked up at him. "Two out of three?" Zay grinned. So did I."...more
