It took a while for me to really grasp the ideas and setting of the book. I took the ride and couldn't stop from reading the other two books. I have to say the third book was excellent. It made me laugh and cry. Enough about book 3 this is book 1.
Key point: I know the main character Chessie does drugs and I do not support this, but the books have a whole different look on life and I have fallen in love with the characters. I say give it a try. Get it from the Library if you are nervous about it.
I am voting for Terrible.

Positives: *Dawn is a stuntwoman who comes home to help find her father. She is tough and finds out she has special abilitiesVampire and Demon series!
Positives: *Dawn is a stuntwoman who comes home to help find her father. She is tough and finds out she has special abilities that she shares with her father. *Kiko is one of my fav. characters. He adds the comic relief and also great insight with his psychic ability. *Thanks to Breisi they have some awesome equipment when it comes to hunting down the vampires. *Great action, enough in the relationship/romance department, and some comic relief.
Negatives: *Didn't really enjoy the intimancy with The Voice and Dawn. I would have rather he just shown himself then use his pyschic ability. *Wish Dawn would stop yelling at her mother and trying to show her she is better. That part was kind of confusing for me. ...more

Okay, so they were tears of joy. The book was awesome. I fell in love with Allie and Zayvion during ‘Magic to the Bone’ and Shame and Terric endeared themselves to me with ‘Magic in the Shadow’ and ‘Magic on the Storm.’ Has it really been 6 books already? It just is not long enough. Thank goodness the series is still going.
Highlights: *Allie is still kicking butt throughout the book next to her lover and soul compliment, Zayvion. *Their bond is still strong and much needed during the book to help balance the wrongs that were done. *Allie and Daddy Beckstrom seem to get along better thanks to Victor. *Shame and Terric add the comic relief needed amongst all the action. *Baby Backstrom makes first appearance. Excitement and tears abound. *Most shocked by Mikhail! He is the Black Knight of this book. I know SHOCKING!
Warnings: *You might want tissues handy towards the end. I admit I did cry. I can't help it being a Mom of 2 and 1 on the way. This book is hard to set down because it is action packed in every page. Pizza is what's for dinner.
Favorite Quotes: "And it's just a hunt?" Bea asked. "Just tracking the guy down, or are we going to have to do a little covering up of our own?" Had she just told me she was willing to kill someone and cover it up? She gave me a happy smile, but that glint in her eyes told me that, yes, she'd just offered to off someone."
"Dad pressed against my mind. Please, Allison. Let me, just this once, hold my son. I shouldn't. Nothing good ever came from letting my father have his way. But I could feel his love for this baby. And even if he couldn't love me, I knew that at this moment, before the baby could grow up and become a disappointment to him, he truly loved him. I slowly stepped away from the front of my mind, letting him fill that space, letting him feel through my hands, see through my eyes. "He's amazing," Dad said through me. "You're amazing." He looked up at Violet, and she smiled."
"I glanced up at Zay, then walked over to stand next to him. "You look good with a baby in your arms," he murmured. I took his hand, careful with his fingers that were still wrapped in tape. "Don't get your hopes up, Jones. I'm not the settling-down type." "Want to bet on that?" he asked. "Sure." I made a fist; so did he. We pumped three times. I threw paper. Zayvion threw scissors. I'd lost. Startled, I looked up at him. "Two out of three?" Zay grinned. So did I."...more

Recommend: Those who want a little paranormal in their lives. This has lots of action and suspense with a dash of romance.
Highlights: *Gin doesn't fail to kick some series bad guys. One has to wonder "Is she really retired?" *Bria Coolidge shows up. She is looking for her Sister at the same time Gin is looking for her. Bria kicks butt as well, just through legal means. *Winner of Favorite Character for this book is OWEN Grayson. Not only is he HOT and Rick, he accepts Gin for who and what she is. Very sweet moment in book. *Best Move is when Gin lights up a lawn with the Spider symbol and then threatens Mab. Can't wait for the next book.
Warning: *You may have the urge to make and eat pie. Gin's food/dessert always sound delicious.
Quote: "I’m just wondering how exactly I went from being the Spider to the Robin fucking Hood of the greater Ashland area... Instead of stealing from the rich, I’m stabbing them to death for the poor."

Nalini Singh just keeps getting better. I mean the first two were great but this one takes the book places I never imagined. Elena and Raphael finally go home to New York. Trouble follows them as Raphael's mother is waking up from her sleep. But is she the one who is the cause of all the weather that is going wonky.
This Series is a must read!!!!
Quote: "What would you like to call me?" That made her pause. "Husband" was too human, "partner" factually wrong for a being as powerful as an archangel, "mate"...perhaps. But none of it was quite right. "Mine," she said at last. He blinked and when he raised his lashes again, the blue was liquid fire. Yes, that will do. "But for public consumption, you are my consort." "Consort," she murmured, tasting the word, feeling it's shape. "Yes, that fits."
"You are mine, Elena. If you choose to sleep in another bed, I will simply pick you up and bring you home."
"For the first time in forever, he was stunned to silence. Not by her words, but by the tenderness in her hands, the worry in her eyes. He was an archangel. He’d been wounded far, far worse and shrugged it off. But then, there had been no woman with sun kissed by the sunset and eyes of storm gray to tear into him for daring to get himself hurt."...more

I loved the first two and this one was the same. Jaye Wells sure can take you on a roller coaster. Sabina and Adam have to save her twin, Maisie from her Grandmother. They gain the help of a voodoo priestess in the process. Not all is what it seems in the book and the ride is full of twists and turns that will take your breathe away. I think this is my fav. book because Sabina and Adam finally become lovers. YEA!!! I can only hope that maybe a child is in the future.
Must read series for paranormal romance lovers.
Quotes: "Fuck fate and David's fatalism. I was going to make destiny my bitch."
"Before I joined them, I cracked my neck from side to side. Breathing in a martyred sigh, I reminded my temper to behave itself. If I'd learned one thing, it was that killing people who annoyed me generally created more problems than it solved. I mentally patted myself on the back. See? Totally growing."

Positives: *Alexia kicks butt well being preg. She kicks her sorry husband's but into gear as well. *Channing comes in as the Knight in Shining armor, you get to see a better side of him. *Lord Maccon is still just as stubborn, but comes through for Alexia even in his state of drunkeness. *Happy ending and great lead into the next book.
Negatives: *Not a huge fan of the way Lord Maccon throw Alexia out to fend for herself while pregnant. Kinda pissed me off most of the book, although he came around to his senses. *You got to see more of her fathers past, but I wish more was said on the matter. Kinda left of open ended thoughts/sentences.
"You remember that groveling business we once discussed during your initial courtship of the young lady?" "Not that again." "Oh, no, not precisely. I was thinking, given her flight from London and the generally slanderous gossip that has resulted and permeated the society papers ever since, that public groveling is called for under such circumstances." "What? No, I absolutely refuse." "Oh,I don't believe you have a choice, my lord...."
