Probably someone who is a mother or knows a lot about adoption could better appreciate it. I could not put it down, though. I finished it in two nights. I always feel great during and after reading her books. Once again, I can't wait for the next once and she remains one of my favorite authors.(less)

Then I came on here and read a lot of negative reviews about the book.
In my opinion, it was a book worth reading especially if you are a teenage girl. I wish I had read more books like this in high school because I could have easily related to it. I've kind of gone backwards in my reading. In high school I would read HG Wells and Stephen King, more mature works.
It was written in a unique format that at first can be hard to follow. Kind of like if you ever read Clockwork Orange and they use the nasdat language. Eventually you will understand and be able to read quicker. It's told from two points of view, Becca and Camille's. Becca writes in poetry and Camille writes in diary form. I often use poetry to express myself so it was interesting to see the character do the same and recognize some of the same techniques I use.
It's worth a read if you don't try to hold it to the same standards of works intended for a more mature audience. It's a great YA book with an interesting story and relatable characters.(less)

I love to read about all the different kind of relationships she writes about and compares throughout the story. This book is about finding where you belong and wondering if you made the right choices. It's also about loyalty and friendships. Although it has a somewhat predictable ending, the journey to the ending is enjoyable.I would recommend this anyone!(less)

I was very satisfied but it just wasn't what I was expecting. I expected more romance and something I would tear up at. I would recommend reading it because it was worth while. (less)

I could relate so perfectly to the unbalanced friendship between Darcy and Rachel. That's what I love about all Giffin's books is although they're chick-lit, I believe they all contain something we can all relate to. I would recommend this to anyone who would like to read something light in their downtime and all of Giffin's other books!(less)

I found it to be very entertaining, easy to read and at the most very informative about life through the eyes of a young girl in Iran. One line I liked very much and remembered was "There will never be peace in the middle east as long as there is oil". It's a very good read!(less)
