I fell in love with Bowe in A Hunger Like No Other and since then I've wanted him to get his happy ending. I will admit that when we heard others speaking about his dead mate she didn't sound lije the best match for him.
Well this book did not disappoint! It was full of twists and turns, emotion, humor and more great characters!! It picks up where the last one left off and Bowe has to go rescue Mari from the cave he trapped her in so she can lift his curse or he'll die.
As all good, sexy lykae he has a very caveman attitude (yes, he does throw her over his shoulder to a cave to.have his wicked way with her, yum!) But we also get to see a side of him that's been hurting for centuries thinking he lost his mate and he could never have that again.
Mari is an amazing heroine, she's kick ass!! I still love the valkyrie but the witches are so much fun!! She's fun, she doesn't take any *** from anyone and she knows what she wants.
I was pleasantly surprised with the turn of events. I kept wondering is she or isnt she and the resolution at the end was unexpected. Job well done Ms Cole!
Bowe had his "jerk, I'm going to bash his skull to the wall!" moments but Mari always gave it right back! And his lack of judgement was always short lived so I forgive him. He's still my favorite lykae so far.(less)

He's arrogant, self-centered, selfish, powerful, driven, egotistical, ruthless. He wouldn't stop at anything to get what he wants. His only fear is betrayal. Betrayal by the ones he cares about, which is why he stopped letting people close.
Ohh but how I've loved his badass self throughout this series and this book was off-the-charts amazing. Completely different than a lot of the books in this series, this author never ceases to amaze me. She can create a completely different story every single time.
He's known his bride was Elizabeth since she was nothing but a human teenager. A mountain redneck human teenager, with no class and very little education at that. He never thought he could be paired with one such as her. Until Saroya possesses Ellie's body. That must be his bride. Fit to rule alongside him when he recovers his kingdoms! To free Saroya, he must destroy Ellie's soul. But he can't do that without La Doradas' ring. RRIIINNNNGGGGGGGG
I'm not telling you what happens, all I want to say is this: Lothaire is one bad, ruthless vampire, but he will make your body shudder and your girly bits quiver! He is so sexy! So in charge and in control! Ellie is very sweet and maybe just the right personality for him, and definitely the right species to bring him down a notch.
They've both been through so much but there were times when my heart would break for Lothaire, what he has suffered, why he is the way he is. And the moment he realizes that others have tried to help him and have been there for him is priceless.
And how can we forget the valkyries, crazy as always, love them. Best of all Nix. She has her lucid moments and her crazy ones, but when the haze in her head has to clear she manages to show us a bit more of her true self in this book. And all the new characters? Ohh the possibilities!
And the last thing I just have to say... if you've never listened to an audiobook, do yourself a favor and get this one. Robert Petkoff brings Lothaire to life, with a perfect and very sexy accent, and enough emotion in telling this story that I felt I was actually watching it play out in front of me.
In case all that was too much to decipher: I.L.O.V.E.D.T.H.I.S.B.O.O.K.(less)

Dear Ms. Kane,
I finished reading City of Ghosts and I'm utterly speechless. This is one of my favorite books this year. I'll be honest with you and say that after I read book one I wasn't totally sold on the idea of a heroine with a drug problem, among her other issues.
After following Chess stumble across her life through the past three books all I can say is it takes a truly talented author to bring out so much emotion and the depth of connection that you've managed to achieve with your series. Downside Ghosts is dark and gritty, full of action, bad guys, tough situations and no easy way out.
City of Ghosts was a rough emotional ride for me especially with all the edge-of-your-seat action, heart-pounding, mouth-gaping, jaw-clenching moments, raw passion, thigh-clenching and shows a vulnerable side to all the characters. A lot of what made this book so amazing was the relationship between Terrible and Chess. First of all I can't say enough how amazed I am at the awesomeness that is Terrible. I just want him. And they both battled a lot of issues in this book. I suffered right along with both. I had no sides. They were both wrong, they were both right, and they both broke my heart. And they were smutty-good!
Another great thing about this book was the storyline. Nothing went as I thought it would. Well, with the exception that I always suspected of the certain someone that wasn't revealed until the end. Other than that I was left gaping at every turn and just thinking "Damn, would something just go the right way for once? Please!!!".
At the end of the day, this book had it all! I am even more in love with Terrible, I like Chess a lot, even though she still pops her pills. And I actually liked Lex ('cuz you know I wasn't such a big fan of his in the other books and you know why).
But could I ask you a huge favor? Could you write faster? I really don't want to have to wait until March now for the next book! I may sound like Chess now looking for a fix.
"You know I do, aye? Love you right, Chessiebomb."

Conall:n. Hot as hell, viking sexyness, half vampire half shifter. He has the best of all worlds wrapped up in one. (And me wrapped around his finger!)
Sinead:n. Total bad ass chick. Sex demon, full time assassin, and the cause of the Apocalypse! My favorite heroine in this series!
I LOVED THIS BOOK! Even more the second time around. There was plenty of action, emotions, romance, steamy scenes and world-changing events.
Sin Fever is killing the warg population, except it's only affecting turned wargs, a little known fact discovered by our hot resident demon doctor Eidolon, and they are trying to keep quiet about it so they don't start a war between born and turned wargs.
Con is torn between having to fulfill a role in the dhampire council and is assigned the role of guinea pig to find a cure for Sin Fever. His body might be creating certain defenses by drinking her blood. But how much more of it can he have before he becomes addicted? And being in close proximity with Sin might be bad for his health. He had a taste of her, body and blood, and now that's all he can think of! All he wants. And isn't it just so convenient that while they are alone together, and he has to protect her, even from her own assassins, he also has to satisfy her demon urges.
Sin and Con will rock your world! They will have you excited, mad, panting, moaning and crying! This was such an emotional ride, and I never wanted it to end!
I'm soooo sad this is the last book in this series, even though there's a spinoff series... I'll miss everyone at Underworld General and all my favorite people! WAR was introduced a bit in this book, and the setup for the next series was laid out, and it all just sounds intriguing. Of course, you have to hate Sin sometimes, she got both hotties! Con AND War! Not fair!!!
One of my favorite series!!!!! Loved this book, there was plenty of action, emotion, romance, steamy scenes, and as always, you get such a good view into everyone's point of view to really be able to get into the whole Demonica World. I'm soooo sad this is the last book in this series, even though there's a spinoff series... I'm guessing we won't get to see too much of Underworld General and all my favorite people!!!!! Please keep them in some way in the next books!!!!! I love Larissa Ione's writing style, the humor put into the dialog. This was the best book in the series! And I LOVED the previous ones!
"Kiss me again without my permission," she whispered against his lips, "and I'll gouge you and sell your balls to a Ruthenian specialty meat shop. Understood?" "You won't do that." He whispered back. "You'd miss them too much." "Men are always overestimating the worth of their genitals."
"Yeah, I need sex or I die. so stop with the obnoxious chaperon shit because I really don't want you anywhere nearby while I'm doing it. And I don't think you want that either." She gave them her sweetest smile. "And I know that the second you're gone, I'm going to ride Con until he begs for mercy."(less)

Last year I wrote a sincere letter spilling my feelings. Now I have to confess that I wanted to punch you in the face when this book started and almost through the halfway mark. But I should also apologize because I should’ve never doubted how magnificent you are. The epitome of everything alpha male that I love and crave. You can be ruthless and you can be sweet. Scorching and yet oh so tender and romantic. But you are always YOU. Who would’ve thought I would fall more in love with you, yet here I am. Falling deeper in love with you. And having to share you with Leila. But it’s ok, she’s worthy of you and I can deal as long as I get Mr. Hot Hands to myself sometimes.
Your true lover,
The Night Prince series has more of paranormal romance feel for me than Ms. Frost’s Night Huntress. It is all about Vlad and Leila, how they work together, their romance grows, their powers expand and how they change for each other. Vlad took a turn for the worst in the beginning but I have to stay that throughout this series and even after falling in love, Ms. Frost has kept his character true to his self. He’s a badass, he’s dominating, he’s powerful, and things supposed to go as he wants.
Leila wants more from him than he seems willing to give so she decides to leave. There is still a big bad after Vlad and now they are going after his next weakest link, which is Leila. There’s suspense and action and an all too sexy vampire that steams up the pages with his personality, his anger and his sex appeal.
Through all this, I have to say Leila is a great heroine. She’s smart and cautious, but she’s strong enough to face things head on. She was again great in TWICE TEMPTED. She’s able to stand up to big tough old vampires as well as her own family. She follows her heart and protects who she loves. I give her a great 5 stars for being such a memorable heroine and not letting herself be overshadowed by the greatness that is Vlad.
This was one of my favorite reads of this year, and not just because I’m crushing hard on Vlad. It was action packed, emotionally charged, and corchingly hot. What more could I ask for? Now I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I might’ve brought Vlad to his knees at last, but in so many ways, he would never bend. I knew that as surely as I knew I’d always love him, and it left me with only one answer.
“I dare because I want no misunderstand between us. I am everything you think I am, but I love your daughter, and what I love, I protect with all of the violence in me, which, as you’ve guessed, is considerable.”

OK, so now that I got that out of the way... Kaderin is a valkyrie and she's been "cursed" with not being able to feel for a thousand years, since the death of her sisters, who were killed by a vampire. She is tough (as all valkyrie are), loves and lives for killing vampires and for the Hie (like the Amazing Race). That whole concept was new and interesting. Kaderin always enters (and wins) this race and this year is no different. Well, except for the fact that before it starts she hears of a vampire in a castle and goes there to slay him, but realizes that she can't. She is his Bride, and because of him, after so long, she starts to feel again. She in turn wakes him from years of misery.
Sebastian is Nikolai Wroth's brother. He was turned by Nikolai against his will and has hated being a vampire during his whole existence. He just wishes for final death. And Kaderin is the one supposed to bring it to him, which he is fine with, until he realizes she's His. The one for him. His Bride. And he will do anything to have her, protect her, cherish her, and live eternity with her.
While Kaderin has to compete in the Hie, Sebastian enters as well, with the intention of wining for her. The prize seems to be something she wants above all other things. A key to go back in time twice. He doesn't think it could work, and he doesn't know why she wants to get it, but he is determined to help her or win it for her. They have some competition, and some tough competition in the form of Bowen, the lykae who we met in the previous book, and who wants the key to go back in time and rescue his dead mate.
There a lot of action, intrigue, and some pretty amazing sexual tension and eventually, yes, sex. And even though Sebastian is not a virgin, he's not the most experienced in that department so it's up to Kaderin to teach him, which he learns quickly, and to be his first in many things.
Their relationship develops perfectly. It's not the "I'm in love" at first sight, their love develops from constantly being together, liking each other, their company, their support. Even though there were no major events in the overall world for this series, this was an excellent book and I'll be looking forward to reading the next one soon!(less)

It's taken me a while to get to read this, and I'm excited to see where Kate's story will go from here.
Ms. Andrews has created a completely different world involving shifters, magic, and some of the weirdest and most disgusting vampires I've ever read! It did take me a while to understand fully what was going on, but once I was able to follow the ins and outs of the story, I enjoyed it a lot.
Kate is actually pretty kick ass, but level-headed. She knows what she's doing, and I hope that in future books I keep enjoying her character! And the girl drinks Corona! LOL
And then there's sexy Curran.... "Here... kitty, kitty." He's a total bad-ass. I loved him. I also loved when he went to the same fancy restaurant where Kate was with her date with the doctor. RAWR *claws air* He's just hot, he's the toughest shifter, and he has a soft spot for Kate... He even helps her fix her roof! Awww
I am really excited to see where the storyline will go from here since at the end we get the perfect opening for her new job and role.(less)
I am so sad to see this series end. It really doesn't have to! There are still so many stories that they could create! Please, please, please! Or maybe write a spin-off series??? Something!! That's the end of my fangirl moment.
Taken by Fire is mainly the story of Stryker. He has such a cool power, he can affect basically earth, so watch out you don't piss him off or you may cause an earthquake! He is assigned to kill Melanie/Phoebe, the chick with two personalities that killed Akbar in the forest at the end of the last book. He watched as his friend burned in front of him, so this mission is personal for him. He wants to squeeze the life out of her!
Except once he finds her she explains to him about her dual personality. Can he believe her? There are actually two people living inside her body thanks to an Itor experiment, Phoebe is the bad one, and Melanie is the good one. Phoebe is out most of the time and has abused Melanie for a long time. Phoebe is the Itor agent, Melanie doesn't know anything. They each have a different power, Phoebe is fire, Melanie is ice. And yes, they find out that she's Alek's daughter (head of Itor), which of course makes Dev change his plans and decide to just bring her in, not kill her. (view spoiler)[She is his sister after all. (hide spoiler)]
She needs sex to recharge her powers and when they find themselves in a situation where he needs her to get them out of a bind, he is the only choice for sex. After that first time, which was rough, she admits that even though her body might've not been, she was actually a virgin, and yes, Oz's prediction comes back to mind "You will marry a virgin."
He quickly starts developing feelings for Melanie, and after those first few rushed times, which were still pretty hot, there's more of a connection between them. Can I just say that even though this book was just a tad less creative in the sex department, at least with the main characters, they still had some hot scenes. They joined the mile high club and almost brought down the plane with both their powers; the back of an SUV after playing and training with her powers; he sits down at the kitchen table to have dessert *THUD*
So yeah, I liked the main characters in this one. I felt bad for Melanie, I hated Phoebe she was a total bitch! And let me warn you, Phoebe does get a little rough and there might be some scenes where you can't believe they went that far with what she was allowed to do, but that was still ok with me.
Now let me get to my favorite characters of ACRO. In every book, Creed&Annika and Dev&Gabe&Oz were also reason enough for me to keep reading. Their side storylines are amazing in my opinion. I did feel a lack of Creed and Annika in this book, we didn't get a lot of time with them and I missed them. Annika is pregnant, Creed is stressing out about Oz's vision that she would die if she has his child, Annika is pissed at Stryker for sleeping with Akbar's killer. But we didn't see a lot of Creed/Annika time.
Dev... He was my favorite character in this book! He is so intense, emotionally raw and devastatingly hot! Gabe is actually more the romantic and wants more from Dev than a booty call. Dev has to learn to cope with that and to give Gabe what he needs while still dealing with the takedown of Itor and his newly found sister(s) in ACRO's custody. Some of the best sex, and almost sex scenes in this book are Dev & Gabe's. Oh.My.Gawd!!!!!! HAWT! That's all I got to say. You have to read it! And yes, there is a threesome in this one! Oz gets to have a body for just one night!!!! *THUD*
The last two or three chapters of this book had me in tears... constantly. I cried for everyone! I'm tearing up again now. It seemed like there would be no resolutions or happy endings for anybody, and my heart was breaking. It was a great ending! Full of emotion, full of action. The ACRO family is all there. But I still don't want it to end! I can't let go!
"I'd miss my own crowning to be the King of England to be with you." - Stryker
Because he's yours, Oz whispered in his ear, even though he remained where Gabe could see him across the room. Always was - I just kept him safe for you.
"We're all a bunch of goddamned heroes." - Stryker
"You be safe out there, Gabriel. You hear me?" "Yeah, I hear you. I think I finally fucking hear you," Gabe whispered in his ear. "When I finish, I'm going to fuck you into the mattress."["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>(less)
This was a completely different read for me! Yes, it's urban fantasy, yes there's ghosts and Chess is somewhat of a ghost hunter, but I was not expecting the storyline to be what it was. To say I was surprised would be an understatement. So I figured the easiest way for me to review this is in a What I liked and What I didn't format.
What I liked: * The otherness of the story. Really. I haven't read anything quite like it. With so many books out there that all feel the same, this one does stand out. * The names of the characters. I mean, come on, you gotta love a guy named Terrible, Bump, Slobag, Slipknot LOL * The book was very well written, I enjoyed Ms. Kane's writing style, even at tough times it seemed to flow. * Tortured heroine. Chess is a witch working for the The Church of the Real Truth banishing ghosts, and she is a hot mess! Not a character I could relate to, or actually like much, but we slowly start seeing why she's become the way she is. A product of bad foster homes, not knowing her parents, being used. I think her character was developed well. * The concept of all religion being a thing of the past and the world now following The Church of Real Truth. I'm quite intrigued by the world building. And I also enjoyed the snippets from the Book of Truth * The Dream Stealer. Excellent villain. * Among this whole big mess, someone is trying to kill her with a "spell/magic". There was certainly no lack of action and intrigue!! * Terrible was the perfect sidekick in this story. He was supposed to be there to protect her, and that he did in all circumstances. * The language. Yes, I actually liked that they didn't speak perfect english because it went perfectly with the story.
What I disliked: * The heroine's addiction to drugs. I felt at some point she had to overcome the problem, but that never happened. This was my major problem with the story. How could she be effective at performing her work while all she could think about is popping another pill or snorting a line? * Some parts were a bit gross and disturbing. Mainly when Terrible got almost eaten alive by a book. Enough said. * Lex. No, not his character. His character was alright. But did Chess really have to go there? I was annoyed by it, and it felt out of place and unnecessary. * Then she's working for a drug lord, well, it's in her best interest since she seems to have a back debt for the drugs she's "bought" from him. But she's most excited about the prospect of some free drugs at the end of the deal. Is this her only concern?? She even admits at one point she wouldn't have to live in the crappy place she lives in if it wasn't for her drug habit.
Will I read the next book? Yes, but I'll have to better time when so I'm a mood to enjoy this story more, at least I won't be caught off guard again!(less)

I was really not expecting to be wowed to the extent that I was. What with all the hype that this series got, that was definitely one of the reasons why I kept pushing it back on my reading schedule. Of course with the movie coming out, I had to read it.
My thoughts on how great it was can be summarized in one sentence: "This book took over my life until it literally hurt to put it down!" Damn work for getting in the way, and interactions with people where cut back to a minimum. I just had to read this in every spare second that I could! Such an amazing and original story, I am hooked and I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the trilogy. I am ready for the emotions to come out now.(less)

Sensual. Erotic. Sinful. Wicked. This book is all that and then some. Ms. Black met and exceeded all my expectations of Logan Edgington (a.k.a. MY future husband)! And let me tell you, they were pretty high.
From the first page this book grabbed my attention and didn't lose it. Well, with the occasional required break for food or sleep that is. But of course, even then, all I could think about was Logan; all I would dream about was Logan. And how could I not? The man is perfect. He is seriously everything I want! The beautiful blue eyes, the Dom voice, the lickable tats, the maddening skills this man has to twist a woman around his finger. I would be at his feet!
Watch out Jack Cole, there's a new Dom in town and I think I can safely say that if I had my choice, I'd want Logan! *gasp* Yes! Ladies and ... well... ladies, Jack Cole has been dethroned! Logan will make your toe curls, your body tingle, and your eyes roll back. And leave you begging for more.
And don't let his intense Dom persona fool you, there's a big softie in there as well. I love that! He is a man in love who will do anything, give up everything and even risk his life for the ONE woman he's always loved. And he shows it, he's not afraid to say how he feels and to make his woman know that she is cherished.
And speaking of that one woman, Tara, or as he calls her Cherry, is a great heroine. She got dumped by the love of her teenage life after she gave him her virginity and yet here she is facing him, and letting him train her for her first field assignment as an FBI agent.
And yes, I said train her. Tara ends up at Club Dominion with her partner to receive training so they can infiltrate an event where girls are being abducted from to be sold as sex slaves. This hits home for Tara when the last agent that had gone in (her best friend) gets abducted. And she is assigned to the toughest Dom in the club. The one that can train the wild ones.
Tara is a submissive by nature and even though she fights Logan at times, their chemistry is undeniable, and she can't fight it for long.
I have to admit I knew who the bad guy was as soon as that person first shows up in the book, but the storyline was still pretty suspenseful, I did not see the extent of the bad guys' involvement in the plot, and especially towards the end, it was action packed, with lots of unexpected twists and turns.
Belong To Me also opens up a world of new characters and possibilities for the series. We're introduced to Club Dominion, where Logan comes to play. All the testosterone flying around that place! I am especially intrigued to see what's Xander's story.
This book has truly brought back the series for me. This is truly Shayla Black at her best! If there's someone out there that can write a truly erotic book, that someone is Ms. Black. Nobody does it better!
And now, how long do I have to wait for Tyler's book? We have been waiting a long time, I've loved him since he first showed up in this series, and after Surrender To Me I've had an even softer spot for him. After reading the excerpt, I cannot wait! I can tell it'll be action packed from the beginning and will throw his world upside down. I am ready for the ride!(less)

Why did it take me sooo long to pick up this series? I know G.A. Aiken is Shelly Laurenston. And I LOVE HER! I think in a way it was the fact that I've never been big on dragons as the lead character in a paranormal romance. But whether it's the fact that I was wrong about dragons, or the fact that this series has a really interesting and fun storyline. Or that it was written by Ms. "Aiken". All I can say is that this book was excellent!
Somehow managing to mix incredibly hot shape-shifting dragons, historical war times, battles, intrigue and some hot tumbles between the hero and heroine, as well as a great supporting cast (yes, lots of them dragons as well) I am now officially hooked.
Oh Fearghus the Destroyer! He is a a dragon of roughly over 200 winters. He has lived most of this time alone in a way, having also little contact with his kin. He is awaken by a battle and a dying beautiful female, Annwyl the Bloody. She is a fierce warrior, leader of a sort of rebel group, with the purpose of killing her estranged brother.
When Fearghus finds her almost dying, all he can do is try and save her. He even calls his sister Morfyd, a healer, to tend to her during recovery.
Except Fearghus presents Annwyl with a human knight whom she thinks is different than his dragon form, and now he can't bring himself to tell her they are one an the same, mostly for fear of rejection.
Annwyl's relationship develops with both on separate levels. Her relationship with the dragon is on a deeper level and she comes to care for him, while the knight stirs things in her she didn't know even could, she was a virgin after all!
While recovering the knight helps train her so that she is prepared to defeat her brother. The dragon makes a promise to help her even going against his family, which will soon come to interfere.
There is a bit of a side storyline and sexual tension between Fearghus sister Morfyd and Brastias, first in command in Annwyl's army. I can't wait to read more about these two! (less)

I was so excited to get this book, and start reading it as soon as it came out! I've been on Cat & Bones withdrawals because the 4th book in the series was a bit mehh, and then we got 2 books in the Night Huntress World spin-off, and I was not so happy with Spade's, and I did liked Mencheres.
But here we are back with Cat & Bones.... Ahhhh... Opening scene... LOVED IT! I wouldn't mind having him shackled to a cave wall! After that though it started going really slow for me.
The story was ok enough, but it wasn't GREAT. I had really high expectations for this book, and didn't feel like it met them 100%, even though it was a good book (I did rate it 4 stars!) I mainly feel like Cat lost some of her spark and spunk from the beginning of the series, and she didn't feel like she was as confident. And although she was funny at times, sometimes she got a little on my nerves. And that's not good since we're getting the story from her POV.
Bones was amazing in this book however! OMG! I'm in love with him, he can do no wrong! His connection to Cat felt rekindled in this book where it was a bit lacking in the last NH book. And yeah, of course, that brings up the elephant in the room... Chapter 21!!!! I knew before hand from comments on GR to watch out for that chapter, so I paid extra attention, I might've read it twice ;) It was HOT, YOWZA, INTENSE and did I mention REALLY HOT? It has been compared to Chapter 32 of One Foot in the Grave, and I'll agree it gives it a run for the money. It all depends on your preferences. I actually went back and re-read Chapter 32 after finishing this book to be able to compare with a fresh image. There's a lot of biting involved in both, except OFITG was Bones doing the biting, in TSOTG was Cat. But biting aside, I think this book gives us a little bit more intense view of what else they were doing aside from all the biting ;) And I loved seeing Bones lose control! Enough said!
One of my favorite lines in the book is from Bones, when he tells Timmy to ask what he wants about vampires but then he says "If you ask me if I sparkle I'll kill you" LMAO!
Vlad... where do I start... He's the best! He had the best lines in the book ("Premature inflammation! Very embarrassing, I don't like to talk about it!" Come on! I was ROTFLMAO) There was plenty of him in this book and I still want more!
Mencheres... 2 things.... 1 - Him having sex with Kira while Bones and Cat where waiting to see and could hear him... LOL 2 - The shorts and t-shirt at the airport?!?!? That I would have to see!
Ian... Not enough of him in this one. I would love to see his character developed a bit more, I know he has to mature before he can get his own book but he has the potential. And I couldn't believe his comment about Veritas... I always picture her as a kid! Even though she's old as dirt.
The twist at the end.... I could've used at least one more page after the last word!!!! WHAT?!?!?!?!? I'm dying to read the next book and see what the hell happened there!!!!!(less)

What an amazing ending to this series!!! This book was excellent! Coming from someone who struggled a bit through the first 2 books, and was encouraged to continue (a little) with the third!
Ms. Vincent has done a great job with world-building throughout this series, the plots of each book are always interesting, keep you on your toes, and they've been laid out so well, it's almost like watching a movie!
The characters are all great! I was never a Faythe lover, well, let's face it, in the beginning of this series I HATED Faythe. She was just so immature and Ms. Spoiled-Princess, and I almost gave up on the series for that reason alone. But now I can honestly say I've enjoyed seeing her grow! I really can't believe it's only been a year (timeline of the series) since she was called back from and away from college and her human life. In that year, she has experienced love, loss, action, drama, betrayal. She's had to face rogue werecats, get kidnapped, almost raped, faced the Council, and through all that she's developed a backbone and she's just grown up!
From book 4 there's a series of events that unfold and are left unresolved until now... Calvin Malone, power hungry bad guy is still making everyone's lives a mess. Faythe is still not sure about her feelings for Marc and Jace.
I don't want to give anything away... This book can only be enjoyed if you avoid ALL spoilers. Believe me, it'll keep you on your toes, you just have to know what happens next.
I am extremely satisfied with how things finished and how everything was handled. The last 3 books have been an extremely emotional rollercoaster ride. Make sure you have the kleenex ready for all 3 of them. They are gut-wrenchingly emotional! I loved them! I highly recommend this series now!!!!(less)

After reading book one, and being shocked by the storyline in this series, I find myself a lot more comfortable with Chess and her issues in this book. Don't ask me why. I get it. It didn't bother me as much.
Now that being said... Chess is a lot more vulnerable in this book. She is trying to do her job, which now consists in going to a celebrity's house to prove that he doesn't really have a ghost problem.
Well, that is her mission with the Church. But of course, she has to do side jobs for her "friends". Terrible asks her to investigate something going on at an abandoned airport. Lex on the other hand also has interests in that same investigation. So she ends up working for both behind both backs.
And there in lays the problem. This book was a royal mess! A big fuck up. A WHAT THE HELL WAS SHE THINKING???? I mean, if the fact that she keeps getting high, especially when she's on the job, is not enough to make you think she's missing a few screws, then her actions in this book have made her certifiably nuts.
Here is a wonderful guy, Terrible. Yeah, I know, he's ugly, he works for a drug dealer/pimp. Not your standard hero material. But I can't help but feel an attraction to him. It's in the way he cares for Chess. How he's always there for her, and would give his life (and almost does) for her. He can look pass her issues and see the good inside of her that she can't see herself. And what she does to him in this book, well, it simply puts her on my bad side. Yes, I cried. I wanted to scream at her! How could she do this? This is not going to be an easy fix.
Can I bitch some more about that? Because it really got to me. Yeah? OK, how can you have a guy open up his heart and serve it on a platter for you the way he did, and you just stomp all over it. And tap dance on it. Damn! It just broke my heart.
But at least Chess was on her game with her investigations! I loved the story! This series is dark and intense. Ms. Kane has created a very unique world an I'll be back for more!
"But I ain't, I ain't think I can take it. Waking up next to you on the morn, have you fake like nothing happened. Or say, aight thanks, maybe we can try that again on the sometime. I know how you run it. Keepin' it cool and no repeats, and I dig it aight? Got your reasons. So I figured...I figured you'd really wanted me, you'd say. Like now, maybe, if you dig. I'll fucking carry you down to your place on a run if you tell me aight. Get you on your back before the next word comes out your mouth. But you oughta have yourself certain, 'cuz I ain't looking for charity, and I ain't letting you go after. Once? Once ain't enough for me. Dig?" (less)

I may be in the minority here, but I loved this book. Actually, I can honestly say I'll take this one over the first one! *cue gasps* Yes, I know Sed is a bit of an arrogant ass, who seems to not have a care in the world for others feelings, only his own, but he's such a sweet teddy bear on the inside!
Sed I was very curious about him from the first book. He was probably the worst in that one because of the way he treated women, and although I'm not necessarily forgiving him acting like a total jackass, I understand why he did it. He cares too much about everyone around him. Truly wants whats best for them. He is a true friend, a loyal partner, and someone to have on your side. I think his interactions with the rest of the band show that. He didn't give up on Trey, either, even when that put everyone else against him. I respect him for that. And lets face it... the guy knows how to turn a womans insides to complete mush! OMG! The level of creativity was off the charts in this book. And I really enjoyed all their walks around town and little sex-capades! Sed Lionheart! You are amazing! And he deserved a better girl in the end. I felt his love for Jessica bordered a bit on obsession, even though cute at times, he let her walk all over him.
Jessica Really? Don't get me started. She's the reason I dropped this to a 4 star. I don't like her. She doesn't appreciate what she has, she's self-centered, selfish, egotistical, and yes a bit of a slut. First off, she wants to work a summer as a stripper to make up some money for college because she lost one of her scholarships. WHAT? If she's so smart and wants to be a lawyer, she couldn't come up with a better job than that to make money for a whole summer? I understand and agree with her original reason for leaving Sed, he was an ass. But I don't agree with her jumping his bones right away because she wants to get back at him. She has a bad habit of starting fights for the stupidest things also, and blaming Sed for everything that goes wrong in her life.
Trey Awwwww my poor baby!!!! I want to confort him!!! LOL Sexy Trey had a bit of a rough time in this one, and had me worried, but he finally got back to his usual self. But I missed him!!!!!! I can't wait to read more about him. He is funny, sexy, has magic fingers... PAUSE *let me wipe the drool off my keyboard* Did I mention he has all these sexy piercings everywhere? *sigh*
Brian Can he think of anything else but his precious little Myrna? His buddy was in serious trouble for a while and he was just oblivious! And Trey relies on him so much! I know he's married now, but I think he should still make more time for Trey.
Jace How come we didn't get more details of his adventure with Aggie??? *waggles eyebrows* He is so intriguing, I can't wait to read his book!! He is mysterious, edgy, sexy and so endearing at the same time.
Myrna Another don't get me started one, so I won't go there.
In General The Sinners as a group went through a lot in this book. A lot of unexpected things, that kept the story fresh, and I feel will keep bringing them together. Talk about some disaster concerts! LOL Sed really is a great entertainer and kept the show going! I was also releived to find a lot less groupie anctics! The boys are growing up! Speaking of groupies... the groupies and fans against Jessica, that was really harsh! WOW! They took mean to a whole new level.
"You've been charged with attempted murder," she said. His eyebrows shot up in surprise. "I have?" "Yes, if you don't stop teasing me I'm going to die."
"Without you, I'm nothing. Don't you understand that?"
"I love you," he whispered. "I can't keep it inside any longer. I know you don't feel the same - I can live with that - but it doesn't change how I feel. I love you so much I can't breathe sometimes."

I have to be honest here... I read the book, I sat and thought about it. Then I walked away from writing this review for a couple of days because I wanted all my feelings to fall back and settle down and here's how I feel now.
When you run a series for 27 books you have to know that what keeps readers interested is not JUST reading about yet another couple in the world they've grown to love. There has to be more. When I finished reading STYGIAN'S HONOR I actually thought that this book had completely missed the mark on giving me that. Then on second thought I guess there was a good story, actually maybe even a better plot than in the previous book. But I have two major issues with STYGIAN'S HONOR and the reasons why I think I enjoyed the last book more than this one.
I really haven't had the chance to care one way or another about Stygian. He's the typical overprotective breed and quite frankly, I've read that before. There was nothing that really stood out about him amongst a sea of other breeds. Well, maybe except for the fact that he's awesome at dirty talk.
Then there's the heroine, who actually annoyed me to pieces for most of the book. Then her back story comes along and yes, maybe she stops being so whiny, and she's tolerable. But again, her character is not all that memorable, even though there is a crazy twist at the end which I'm hoping will set a different tone and new adventures for the future of the series.
OK ok ok it was interesting. And I may be the only one that feels this way but I am actually getting tired of the "save Jonas' daughter" plot. I think it's being dragged and I wish there was a resolution for it already. I need something to finally happen so that we can move on to something else.
What ever happened to...
I find the choice in couples lately to be a bit strange. We are getting books about breeds we've barely even heard of when we are still missing important stories, like Dr. Eli and Cassie. At this point, I don't think Cassie can possibly be too young still, right?
I love Cassie, don't get me wrong. But I find it so unrealistic when every time her character is needed in a book for some random breed that she has this special bond with them, they always have inside jokes and she's just their BFF almost. It happened again with Stygian and somehow it didn't ring true.
Seriously, am I the only catching these things? Gideon was introduced in LAWE'S JUSTICE and we learn more about his character in this book. I have a feeling he might be the next book, since it would seem the logical progression of the general story. And I like him well enough. But has no one else notice that his name is exactly the same as Sylvia Day's hero in BARED TO YOU?
This wasn't a bad book. It was pretty hot because, well, it's Lora Leigh. I just really need to start seeing some tying up of loose ends, fresh stories and a HEA for the characters I've already come to love without introducing a million new ones. I wish we had the magic of DAWN'S AWAKENING or even LION'S HEAT back.
I’m going to be totally honest here about a few things. First, my reason for purchasing this book was solely because I’m a cover ho and I just loved the cover.
The story hooked me from the beginning because it was bittersweet. It stirred up emotions of the what ifs that I think everyone probably has, and some that might be more personal for me. I felt bad for Alex because, even after three years from her husband’s death, she seems to be having a hard time still. Then in walked in Blake, or rode in actually on his bike, and I was smitten.
But as much as I liked the story, there were also things that I felt were not 100% to my liking. So here’s a small list:
I believe self pub authors sometimes suffer from the lack of editing. And I don’t mean just grammar and all that, but the actual content that should be discussed with an editor to see if it drives the story forward. I felt that this book could’ve been cut to a novella if we took out some of the unnecessary scenes, and repetitive words. Not that it wasn’t cute to read about every little detail of Alex’s interaction with her three young daughters, because they were adorable, but there was so much of it, I think it would’ve been ok to cut some out and they still would’ve been adorable. Alex. Eeeeek. Yes, the heroine got on my nerves sometimes. She gave off really mixed emotions and in the end, I’m not quite sure why Blake would put up with someone like that. It’s not like he came back into town right after her husband’s death. It had been three years. And at least she could’ve shown a minimum of respect and friendship, when she thought it better to be a bitch. The notes to self. Yeah, they were cute in the beginning, and they were cute when they added an insight into her thoughts. But they started getting annoyed when she KEPT making “notes to self”.
But by the same token, I also loved certain aspects of the story:
How Blake took care of her and has been sort of waiting for her all his life. I love stories about childhood crushes getting their HEA. And this one was extremely sweet since he didn’t think he could ever get that. And Blake was just delicious! The kids! OMG they were adorable, even when they were a bit much to deal with for my pea brain (there are THREE of them! LOL) but I love to see their love for their mom and then for Blake. And how they worked to bring them together. Loved the breakfast dates.
This book was sweet and I might’ve shed a tear about Alex and how she faced Derek’s accident. Although it wasn’t the emotional rollercoaster I expected from reading the blurb, I still enjoyed RUNNING ON EMPTY a lot and I will probably continue the series.

This has been a highly anticipated book for me. We are getting close to the Apocalypse, will they be able to prevent it or will all hell literally break loose? At the end of Immortal Rider Regan, a member of the Aegi, had volunteered to have sex with Thanatos and get pregnant. The whole thing went down with all kinds of betrayal and I couldn't help but feel like beating Regan to a pulp by the end of that book.
Lethal Rider starts eight and a half months later. Regan is very much pregnant and in the custody of the Aegis and Thanatos has been in a hellhound saliva induced frozen state for that whole time, not knowing Regan was pregnant. When the hellhound saliva wears off before it should and he's able to escape and goes straight for that pull he has towards Regan, he finds it's not just her, she's carrying his child, so he kidnaps her to bring her to his home and keep her safe until she gives birth to his agimortus, or baby.
I know some people are thinking "How could I be ok with her after what she did?" and I admit I felt a little bit like that but I understood her reasons why in this book perfectly. It's her past, the way she views herself and her relations with others and her loyalty to maybe the wrong people. I thought it was great that Thanatos took his time getting past that and it wasn't a magical "everything is ok now" moment. And of course, this is Thanatos we are talking about. Sexy bad boy, I just can't get enough of him!
What a rollercoaster of destruction and mayhem everywhere! The land down under has been taken over by hell, Pestilence is causing so much chaos everywhere, getting allies in all the wrong places, and destroying everything in his path.
What can you expect? Some things are not what they seem, angels, Aegi and vampires will throw you for a loop. Seems like you can't trust anyone! I loved seeing some of the past of Reseph's life, it wasn't much but it showed a caring side to him, and I admit I had to laugh at his music preferences! I feel this started setting him up as a character that we should like.
There are also some minor and major clues about the origin of the horsemen so watch out for the clues in this book, as well as more information about the daywalker vampires and Thanatos role in their existence.
There's just enough of the secondary characters that I love. Kynan, Wraith, Shade, Eidolon, Conan, Limos, and even a bit of Arik. I can't help but love that Ms. Ione keeps her old characters present and involved in her series.
So am I ready for Reseph now? Since I won't tell you what happens in this book, then I can only say after this one, you'll only want to get Rogue Rider that much faster!!!

WOW! I think this book was even more emotional the second time around, and of course I noticed even more things!!
I still love JM and Xhex. They are my favorite couple, and this is my favorite book so far. We've followed their story for so long, and it was just as emotional. The first time I read this book I was in an emotional cloud for a few days.
There's too many unbelievable moments, and quotes. But to summarize, the chemistry between John and Xhex is there, you feel it, physically, emotionally, it pulls you in, and tears you up, brings you up and down.
Blay and Qhuinn... heartbreak. My heart was literally breaking. I know there's no quick resolution to this, but I'll suffer through every second of it. They are so perfect together.
I enjoyed Tohr this time around more. I paid more attention to his interactions with No'One throughout the book, and at the end. One of my favorite quotes comes from him when he finally goes back home to get the gown for Xhex.
And at the end... Zsadist singing "All I Want Is You" by U2, because that's what John asked him for. I had tears in my eyes.
I was waiting for JM & Xhex seems like forever!!!!!! I was so excited to read this I got through the whole audiobook (over 20 hours) in about a day and a half. Yes, I didn't get much sleep, or work done, or anything! This was my favorite book in the series so far, by far! The story was great, there was action, a lot of feelings, it had me crying more than once, and of course the sex, chemistry and relationship between them was great! great! great! Now, on the side stories.... Blay and Qhuinn!!!! OMG!!! Please let them have a book!!!!! I got so excited when Qhuinn got jealous! Can't wait for the next one.(less)

Reason # 546 why you should buy this book: LOOK AT THAT COVER!!! I guarantee it will look really nice sitting on your nightstand or bookshelf. But seriously, this book is a MUST-BUY if you like your erotic romance scorching hot with a good dose of suspense. You can't go wrong when you put three incredibly talented authors together and let them run wild. And run wild they did!
Arresting Desire by Shayla Black 4 Stars I'm coming late to the Sexy Capers party. This is a series by Shayla Black that I have NOT read. Yes, I know, shocker! And believe me, this is something I will have to remedy shortly. But even, without having read the previous two books I had no problem getting into this story. Jon Bocelli has apparently been working undercover in a mob operation until they were able to crack the case, but the mob boss died in the process and now Jon's brother is in jail for that murder. Jon has to go back now to find some proof that his brother is innocent. And this will put him face to face with Lucia DiStefano, that mob boss's youngest daughter and the object of his lust during his whole undercover work. Not only will he have to ask for her help to save his brother, but he will have to deal with his feelings for her once and for all. And they are hot and dirty! Sexy cop + virgin mob princess = explosive heat!
On Fire by Sylvia Day 5 Stars I don't even know where to begin with this story. The title says it all. End of review. I've only read one other Shadow Stalker novella and it was verrrra hot as well but this one had smoke coming out of ears and sweat forming it was so hot. A series of fires in local business are all hitting home for fire inspector Darcy Michaels. When the crimes are too much for the small town cops to handle it, she calls in the cavalry and Deputy Marshal Jared Cameron and his partner are sent in to investigate. And from page one when Jared met Darcy it was straight to the point "I want you, I'm going to have you". I love strong female heroines and that's Darcy to a tee, but she has such a damaged past that it has made it easy for the wrong people to get close to her. Jared is of course the alpha male that everyone dreams of having, in and out of the bedroom. And even though I thought he would be overprotective and too macho to let her do her job and take care of her issues, he was perfect and gave her the space she needed and the opportunity to show that she can handle her own. Only bad part is that I had the killer pegged from the beginning, but the rest of this story was so good that didn't even take a star away! On Fire had me burning up!
The Unwilling by Shiloh Walker 4 Stars Mica Greer is trying to catch a serial killer. Her only hope right one is a retired FBI agent with a special psychic gift who just happened to be her partner and lover 15 years ago. Colby rejects his gift for all the heartache it has brought him and how difficult it has made his life. But when Mica shows back up in his life asking for help with catching this killer, he has to help her. Whether its because its the right thing to do or because he never got over her and will do anything to be close to her again. If there is one thing that Ms. Walker can do like very few people can is to write a villain that might just give me nightmares. And oh the shudders I felt while being in the mind of this killer. I have new and disturbing images to associate to an otherwise fun song in my head now. Although this story has less heat than the rest, its still an amazing and suspenseful story that will have you glued to every word. As it happens every time I read a book by Ms. Walker, once you start you are sucked in until you finish! And along the way you will go on an emotional roller coaster along with the characters. So great!

I’ve been hearing praises for this series ever since I finished reading the available books in The Artists Trilogy. I’ve fallen in love with Karina Halle’s writing over the last few months and I really couldn’t wait to read more from her.
So, DARKHOUSE to me had a lot of the feel I found in THE DEVIL’S METAL. Obviously this was written before so it was the original, and it’s set in today’s world instead of the past. But a lot of the same elements and “scare tactics” apply.
DARKHOUSE is the story of Penny. A 22 year old who has confidence issues because she’s a bit overweight and is…well…she sees things. Her whole life she’s had episodes where she’s seen people and talked to them that nobody else could see. She still lives home with her parents and younger sister and is trying to move up at her company and get a better job. Even though she hates it. Did I mention she drives a bike? Anyway, I fell in love with Penny from the very beginning. She has a silent strength to her and a core that needs to come out. The experiences set forth in this book are bound to do that and I can’t wait to see that happening.
But this is not all about Penny. See, she goes on a family trip to visit her uncle who happens to own some land that has an unused lighthouse. Wreckless that she is, she goes off in the night, alone, drunk, into the lighthouse. Things quickly turn creepy in there but it turns out she’s not alone. There’s a cute guy with a camera there, yeah he broke in, trying to document any paranormal activity. That’s Dex. A little scraggly, a little psycho. He offers Penny an opportunity to be the star of the paranormal web-show he was trying to pitch to his boss. For that, they have to go back to the lighthouse and shoot some good footage.
And that’s when things really get creepy. I’m not going to lie, I was reading this at night and kept looking over my shoulder until finally I flipped on my back to read this and made sure my feet and hands were under the covers. Karina Halle doesn’t pull any punches nor does she leave you thinking about what might be there. You get the full on detail.
This is just the beginning of Penny and Dex working together and I’m very excited to see what other trouble they get into next.
For the romance lovers…there is a connection between Penny and Dex and I’m sure we’ll see more of that in the future. But in this book, Dex is unavailable and I’m happy the author kept things the way she did so that it also shows respect between the characters that they didn’t go jumping into situations that would hurt others.
I do have to say I think there’s something off with Penny’s parents and I wonder if they’ve been hiding something from her.
If you want a refreshingly creepy with a dash of scary read, then this is the one for you. Karina Halle’s writing made this story and this book totally unputdownable. Literally.(less)

Hot rock stars? Check. Tats? Check. Sexy piercings? Check. A panty-melting smile? Check. We fell in love with Ms. Cunning Sinners on Tour and we finally have a new book by her again. But oh the tease! Yes, this is a short story. And this is a completely different band. But do you see me complaining? Well, maybe just the fact that I wanted more, more, more!
Gabe, aka Force, is the drummer of Sole Regret. And sometimes he is just too tired to deal with the groupies they have hanging around after a concert. But one girl catches his eye. And she looks nothing like a groupie, especially when she says no to lead singer Shade.
Melanie had pretty much been dragged there by her friend Nikki, who is a groupie and who just wants to nail Shade. Tats and piercings scare her, she never though she would go for a guy like these rockstars until she stumbles across Gabe. And then holy hell sparks starts going off like Fourth of July between them.
This is the perfect little read to heat up a summer afternoon ;) Be sure to check this one out and be like me... on the lookout for the next Sole Regret fix!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! Wonderful debut by Amy Plum and the Revenants series. I felt completely transported into an elegant european world, filled with art, corner cafes where to read and enjoy a cappuccino and a croissant, while mixing in a very interesting group of undead characters!
Kate and her sister Georgia have to move from Brooklyn to Paris with their grandparents after the deaths of both their parents. Kate is only sixteen and finds the only way to cope with the tragedy and the move is to frequent the places she grew loving and visiting in their summer trips. Cafes where she can lose herself in a good book, art museums and galleries where she can get lost in a painting. And it's precisely at one of those places she meets a boy that takes her breath away. Vincent, dark, gorgeous, 19 year old. Or is he?
I think Kate is a wonderful character. She's a typical teenager dealing with all the normal issues. Then she meets Vincent and her whole world is turned upside down as she is dragged into a world she had no idea existed.
The Revenants are, in a way, undead or zombies?, but not really. They were humans who died in place of someone else, and from then, they have been dying to save others. I loved that concept! And when finding all this out I actually liked the fact that Kate doesn't throw caution to the wind right away to be with him. She wants to have a normal life.
Of course there's always a battle between good and evil which was pretty interesting. Even though the bad guy at the end was almost predictable, I still found the whole thing interesting and the twists we find out of what Vincent and Kate CAN be together are nice. And speaking of nice, what he did for her birthday.... SWOON.
The supporting characters are all endearing as well. Jules, Charlotte and Ambrose in particular. I actually liked her sister Georgia as well. You could tell she loved her sister even though she was dealing with their problems in a non-conventional way.
And now the few things I didn't totally love, just to keep it fair. I thought the grandparents had no control over what these two girls were doing. How can that be possible? You have 2 teenagers coming and going whenever they please, and doing as they like. Not good. And as I've seen a reference before to a similarity to Twilight, I will address that as well. The ONLY similarity this story can have with Twilight is that maybe the structure of the Revenants was a bit like the Cullen family. There's the elder that rules the crazy "teenagers", the lonely soul girl "Charlotte" which could be like Alice; the big, tough, flirty one "Ambrose" who could be an Emmett; Vincent obviously being Edward; I can't put my finger on Jules though, LOL. But that's as far as it goes. This book really is nothing like Twilight. So there, I just wanted to clarify.
And now... do I really have to wait until next year to read the next one??? (less)

I was not sure what to expect when I started reading BLIND OBSESSION. I had seen a lot of hype on the blog-world about it and I was quite intrigued. Being my first book by Ella Frank, and having heard such great things about her, I obviously couldn’t wait to dive in.
I can’t say I was prepared for what this book had in store for me. Dark, erotic, heart-wrenching and unexpected. BLIND OBSESSION took me on a ride of emotions, highs and lows, while telling a haunted tale. Because sometimes not all stories are roses and can end up miraculously fixed. Some characters have been damaged beyond repair. And for some people, true love is an addiction that can only have one fix.
This is the story of Phillipe Tibideau, a talented artist with a secret. Or maybe not so much a secret but a cloud of suspicion around him. Mysterious, temperamental and intense. Like most artists he can be quite a bit to handle.
Gemma Harris is a journalist that has come to unveil his secrets. The only one in a long line of people that wanted to get inside the walls of Chateau Tibideau to find out what really happened to Phillipe’s muse, Chantel Rosenberg.
Chantel, a blind musician who became the inspiration for a series of paintings by Phillipe, is a constant presence that still haunts him, and will soon entrance Gemma as well. Their sort of love triangle (that wasn’t) was beautiful. There was a thread of connection between the three but at the same time that it was sensual, it was also sad.
It would be doing you a disservice if I tell you how the story goes because part of the magic of this book is to find out what happens or happened as you read along. I found it perfect that the author tells the present through Gemma’s eyes, but the past through Chantel’s. I felt a connection to every character in this book, and of course by the end, I couldn’t help but be a mess of tears and sobs.
Another thing that I enjoyed immensely was being able to see the art and listen to the music as the author mentioned it in the book. If you are able to, be sure to get this ebook in its interactive form and have access to the internet. The music especially added a haunted level to the story, even more so than the written word. I could listen to the particular song the author picked for a scene and “feel” what was described.
This is not a feel good book and quite frankly at the end I was left feeling a bit lost and sad. After wanting to see people heal, you have to accept that sometimes some just can’t. When love has been that intense and all-consuming it’s hard to come back from.
I am definitely anxious to read more by Ella Frank!

This is quickly becoming one of my favorite erotic romance series. When I crack open a Roni Loren book I seem to always expect a very sexy read, characters with depth and a storyline that always keeps engaged while being a bit suspenseful. And that’s just sexy suspense done right.
I often compare this series to Wicked Ties by Shayla Black. It’s a lighter version of BDSM that say the Cherise Sinclairs and Tiffany Reisz of the world, and sometimes that’s just what fits the bill. The great thing about this author is that she ALWAYS does right.
FALL INTO YOU is no different. It’s hot, it’s sexy, full of alpha Dominant goodness and a thrill of a story. But let me start with the hero, because I have something to say here. Bear with me.
Grant is the owner of a BDSM club, he’s also a winemaker a down home cowboy. He’s one of the toughest Doms at the club mainly because he doesn’t think he can be in a relationship again because of his past failure at one. So I was reading this and about 30% through a friend of mine tells me to go over to Roni’s blog and see who her inspiration for Grant was… *me running to the website*
I present you… Blake Shelton. This tiny little fact just increased my enjoyment of this book by like 1000, and I was loving it already. See, I have a bit of a crush on this sexy cowboy.
*sigh* Where was I? Oh yeah, the book…Do I need to tell you more about Grant? Fine, fine, I will. He’s overprotective, dominant, alpha, take charge, and good with a rope. He’s a successful business man too. He is DEFINITELY and WITHOUT A DOUBT my favorite Dom by Roni Loren to date. Totally puuuuurrrrrr worthy.
Then we have Charli, the heroine. I loved her from the very beginning. She’s a typical tomboy that doesn’t have the level of confidence because she’s always been a little too plain, a little too tall, a little too flat chested, to get to where she wants in life. This affects her personal life as well as her career. She works for a TV station but they won’t give her a on camera job because she’s not sexy enough.
So there she goes trying to crack a case and doing some research. This research gets her in some trouble and Grant has to step in to protect her until the heat passes over. Except that she finds herself in the middle of a lot more heat than she thought she could handle. And it’s all about Grant teaching her the ropes…so to speak…in BDSM training.
Got your attention yet? Although this is a plot that we see time and time again, it worked so well for Ms. Loren because her writing is amazing. She creates characters that you can’t help but fall in love with and a storyline that keeps you turning the pages.
How do you like your heroes? Tall, muscled, strong, tortured, tattooed, oh-so-sexy, with golden eyes and . . .dimples! Is that close? Well then, meet Hector Dean. I mean, just take a look at the cover. He is edible!! And to make the cover justice, the man you will meet in the book is a fantasy come to life!
This book backtracks in the storyline to when Noelle and Ava go into the AIR agent training. And really, how can they be expected to concentrate on training when you have Dallas and Hector as your instructors? The connection is instant between Hector and Noelle but there are so many layers to their relationship that need to be peeled back from there. And it’s a lot of fun to see it happen.
Hectors past was very hard, and his present is a major thing to deal with. Although he is human, his arms heat up and can burn through even metal when he gets aroused, angry, or any strong emotion. Great in a fight, not so great around a girl. But he is intense!!! Hot in more ways than one!! I wouldn’t mind going up in flames with him. . . At all. . . He’s worth it!
And then there’s Noelle. She is my favorite heroine in this series. She can be funny, snarky, a bit spoiled. But she hides behind a mask and inside there’s a girl who has never been good enough for anyone, not her family, not her boyfriends. The only constant in her life is her friendship with Ava. Their loyalty to each other is amazing! But now she is getting married. I loved seeing their friendly interactions, her sadness at losing her friend or so she thought. They are hilarious together, they get each other in all their quirkiness.
But Hector sees through Noelle’s act as well. He knows there’s more to her than she lets on. And when Noelle really starts pushing the boundaries of their relationship, well I just love how he gives in to his desires and passions 100% and as much as he can. Even though he fights going further.
We revisit the alien trafficking storyline in this book instead of the Schon queen. She was completely absent here and I just wonder what happened with her. We do get somewhat of an answer to Dallas vision but there is still an open question about it at the end. I think I just heard Dallas saying he is ready to have his book written. And since I’m on the Dallas subject. . . He is so cute, trying to put his "best moves" on Noelle. It was hysterical. I gotta admit I’m jealous though!! I want to be Dallas' pretzel!
And just as we had best friends forever Ava and Noelle, we also see a small glimpse of my favorite bromance: Devyn and Dallas. I’m soooo on Brides side when Devyn mentioned that she wanted them to kiss like Noelle and Ava had done. *purrrrr*
Pretty much the whole cast shows up in this book. We also see Jaxon and Mia as well as McKell obviously. Together, AIR solves a case of missing girls aaaaaaannnnmnnd in the process a blast from the past character reappears! No, can’t tell you who it is. You’ll have to read to find out. But I’m sure this will play a big role in future books.
So what are you waiting for? Pick up this book, or if you haven’t yet, start this series!! You know you want to see Hector burn holes in brick walls, burn through gloves and burn down a house!!!!
Favorite Quotes: Speaking of funny looks. "Did you see the way that Hector guy eyed me up and down, as if I belonged in a scientific studies magazine for newly discovered fungus?" "Yeah, but did you see his muscles?" "How could I miss them? His I've-tasted-human-heart-and-liked-it black T-shirt was strained to the point of lunacy." "Vocab lesson time. You mean lewdness. As in, indecent."
"Graduate Camp Hellhole - check," Noelle muttered. "Hired by AIR - check. Complete my first mission successfully - check. Kick Hector's ass at a foot race - check. Lose my best friend - check, check, fucking check, and scribble and crumble the notepad and slam it into the trash."
The T-shirt was a gift from Ava and read Good Girls Need Spankings Too.
"Hey!" Dallas frowned at him. "When I tell you something's a secret, and you tell me that secret is locked in the vault, you aren't supposed to blab about it." Devyn blew him a kiss. "How was I supposed to know Hector would have the key to my vault."(less)

Cadeon is the sexy and funny demon we met in Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night. He's known his mate is Holly for a while but she's human, and he can't claim her because she will not survive it. So he's stayed away, but always watching her.
Holly is a bit of a geek, has some difficulties dealing with real life, and has a huge case of OCD!!!!! It can get a bit frustrating while reading, but it also makes for some funny, very funny moments.
And, oh, did I mention she's a virgin?!?!? But a very curious one at that??? And our sexy demon is not shy AT ALL to let her explore and satisfy her curiosity. *As my thoughts drift to that patch of blond hair trailing down and disappearing into his jeans*
Except now Holly is not human anymore, she is part Valkyrie, and she is the Vessel, a very important part of the Ascension. And everybody wants her because they want to get her pregnant LOL
We do get to see Nucking Futs Nix! I adore her! She's so funny! And always on target even in her crazy ways. Always has a purpose. And Rydstrom gets kidnapped! Oh boy... starting to set up the next book perfectly, I can't wait to read it!(less)
