I loved this book!! I fell in love with Bowe in A Hunger Like No Other and since then I've wanted him to get his happy ending. I will admit that whenI loved this book!! I fell in love with Bowe in A Hunger Like No Other and since then I've wanted him to get his happy ending. I will admit that when we heard others speaking about his dead mate she didn't sound lije the best match for him.
Well this book did not disappoint! It was full of twists and turns, emotion, humor and more great characters!! It picks up where the last one left off and Bowe has to go rescue Mari from the cave he trapped her in so she can lift his curse or he'll die.
As all good, sexy lykae he has a very caveman attitude (yes, he does throw her over his shoulder to a cave to.have his wicked way with her, yum!) But we also get to see a side of him that's been hurting for centuries thinking he lost his mate and he could never have that again.
Mari is an amazing heroine, she's kick ass!! I still love the valkyrie but the witches are so much fun!! She's fun, she doesn't take any *** from anyone and she knows what she wants.
I was pleasantly surprised with the turn of events. I kept wondering is she or isnt she and the resolution at the end was unexpected. Job well done Ms Cole!
Bowe had his "jerk, I'm going to bash his skull to the wall!" moments but Mari always gave it right back! And his lack of judgement was always short lived so I forgive him. He's still my favorite lykae so far....more
Truly an amazing story! After the ending of Fifty Shades of Grey I HAD to rush and read book 2. I had to know what happened next between Grey and Ana, and I had so many unanswered questions about the mysterious Christian Grey. And Fifty Shades Darker answered a lot of them!
I think what shocked me the most was Christian attitude and personality change in this book. He has to be one of my favorite characters. He's so complex, and reading this book is like peeling a layer at a time. In not so many words, he is a very fucked up individual because of his past and circumstances, but he has pushed through, become successful and in this book he faces his biggest obstacle yet.
When Ana leaves him he realizes that he's in love with her. And this is such an intense emotion for him, she truly is his rock and his anchor. In order to keep her he has to change how he's been used to treating women and relationships, and how he sees himself.
And I gotta tell you, to have a mans' attentions focused on you so intently like Christian shows Ana, you can't help but being jealous. Yes, there, I said it! I WAS JEALOUS READING THIS BOOK. Jealous of any girl who looked at my Fifty, jealous of Ana because of course I could do better if I had him. Just plain jealous. I want him!
The plot in this book is a bit more light than book one, there's a lot of revelations about Christians' past, a lot of them pretty messed up. There's also some intrigue and drama, nosy exes, crazy stalkers and pushy bosses.
One of my complaints from book one was the style of writing, and I don't know if it changed in this book, I really wouldn't say it did, but it did not bother me at all. Maybe I was used to it now, but it didn't interfere with my reading! Does that even make sense?
And of course we can't talk about Fifty and not talk about sex. There's a lot of sex in this book. On a boat, elevator, pool table, on top of a piano. Very very creative. In book one I mentioned that it didn't come across as hot because of the way the scenes were written. That is still the case up to a point for me. However, I have such a connection to Fifty now that even if he looks at Ana a certain way I think it's sexy.
I think Ms. James has done such an amazing job with Christian's character! Ana is still a bit childish, and at times I wanted to slap her. Now of course she will the cause for any problems in the next book, because she wouldn't listen and use her damn Blackberry! *TWITCHY PALMS* But overall, I think for someone that young she's doing an amazing job with dealing with such an intense relationship.
Ana's inner goddess I thought was cute, but to be honest, I couldn't help but have this image of Jaz Sparks, UF heroine and assassin, popping up in my head. She was my first heroine with voices in her head with an attitude. So every time the inner goddess popped up looking up from her half-moon glasses or wearing her pink boa and fuck me shoes, I just pictured Jaz's teen or bimbo self. Still funny though.
Who else I thought was cute? Mia and Ethan! I want to read more about them and I hope they get their own book. I think they would be fun to read about. But I can't wait for the next book to come out! I'm looking forward to seeing Fifty and Ana try to use up all the surfaces on the apartment, the new house, the boat, there's still the car sex he promised her.... Ahhhh the choices!...more
Everyone has been reading this book lately, and loving it, so I had to see what all the excitement was aboutThis review was posted at Under The Covers
Everyone has been reading this book lately, and loving it, so I had to see what all the excitement was about. So here's what I thought...
Going in I thought this would be another erotic book with a decent story. But I gotta tell you I was not expecting what I got. And I say this in a good way. Let me explain.
First of all, I did find the writing style a little distracting because it read almost more like a screenplay than a book (that's the best comparison I can think of), so it didn't flow as easily for me. That's neither good nor bad, just my observation, and I think this was the main reason why I couldn't really feel a connection to the characters.
And the second point that stood out to me was the fact that I didn't find this book as erotic as I thought I would. Yes, there's some sex, some was actually pretty hot, but in general there was something lacking that, well, no toe curlings for me.
OK, so after saying all that you would think it doesn't sound like I enjoyed it. Sorry if that's how that came across. I did rate this 4 stars!
The story in this book is really good! I was completely sucked in. You have two very different individuals. Christian Grey is, well, he's unique. Even after finishing this book we don't know 100% what his past was all about, and I'm not sure what could've happened to him to make him such a screwed up man, but I can't help but want to know everything about him, what makes him tick.
Anastasia Steele on the other hand... Someone please pass me the paddle, I'll discipline her myself! She was a bit immature and at times annoying. However, I understand the why of her personality, I mean, what graduating college student doesn't even have an email? Yeah, my point is she must've been a very awkward kid, with almost no social skills or life experience, and all of a sudden thrown in a very strange environment.
And overall, I think she handled everything amazingly well. By the end of the book she had grown up a bit, and even though she has some more to go, at least she's learning from this experience. And hopefully Grey is also! That boy needs help! You do see a little bit of that in this book but I was a bit scared of his stalkerish tendencies.
One thing I loved were the cute little emails between them, with the quirky messages, the twichy palm, the shouty capitals. Just adorable!
And the ending, well, the last 25% of this book was great in my opinion and the cliffhanger at the end was just RAW and INTENSE. It's almost like watching a reality TV show, you're glued to it because you just have to know what's going to happen next. So I'll be getting book 2 soon because I just HAVE TO KNOW what happens next. ...more

I just don’t understand! Here goes another against popular belief review. I wanted to like OVERRULED. So much. I loved TANGLED and quite frankly I was ready to see another couple by author Emma Chase. Stanton just didn’t hit the mark for me.
I mean, I’m all for a jerk hero. I loved Drew from Tangled, I loved Andrew from Reasonable Doubt. I have no aversion to jerks. But Stanton goes beyond being a jerk into insensitive, self absorbed bastard territory. I like my jerks to have a one track mind in the pursuit of their heroine, I guess. Not to end up realizing they’ve been in love with someone at the end of the story. Sorry, I just couldn’t find one thing about Stanton to like nor why these women would be all over him. See? I’m going against tide of most people that have read this book. :/
I don’t want to spoil the book. Suffice it to say I started off wanting Stanton to get back with Jenny. His high school sweetheart and the girl he got pregnant when they were nothing but teenagers. As the book progresses, I see Stanton in another light, even Jenny in another light, and I can’t even muster the desire to see their problems coming to a happy ending. Of course, you add in Sofia to the mix and things get even worst.
Let’s call things by their name. Stanton is a cheater. I don’t care about his arrangements, agreements or lack of paper commitments. He’s living in another city, has a life away from the mother of his child, and his kid, and he’s banging every woman under the sun there. Nowadays, that woman is exclusively Sofia. Meanwhile, his arrangement is to go back home every so often, fuck around with Jenny too cuz that’s his family, and never speak of what happens in DC. What the…. what? The dude wants his cake AND eat it too.
How is Jenny ok with this? How is Sofia ok with this? Stanton I can’t even comment because he’s missing enough brain cells to understand what he’s even doing wrong. I mean, no common sense I tell you on his part. You know how we often refer to heroines as “too stupid to live”? Well, he’s a TSTL hero! I just couldn’t deal. That’s all I can say. I couldn’t deal with him, without wanting to stab him. I couldn’t deal with Sofia or Jenny most of the time for not standing up for themselves (earlier) because they both deserved better.
I do want to continue this series. The new characters introduced in this book have potential and I liked Stanton’s roommates. I just hope they have more common sense than him!
I finished reading City of Ghosts and I'm utterly speechless. This is one of my favorite booksThis review was posted at Under The Covers
Dear Ms. Kane,
I finished reading City of Ghosts and I'm utterly speechless. This is one of my favorite books this year. I'll be honest with you and say that after I read book one I wasn't totally sold on the idea of a heroine with a drug problem, among her other issues.
After following Chess stumble across her life through the past three books all I can say is it takes a truly talented author to bring out so much emotion and the depth of connection that you've managed to achieve with your series. Downside Ghosts is dark and gritty, full of action, bad guys, tough situations and no easy way out.
City of Ghosts was a rough emotional ride for me especially with all the edge-of-your-seat action, heart-pounding, mouth-gaping, jaw-clenching moments, raw passion, thigh-clenching and shows a vulnerable side to all the characters. A lot of what made this book so amazing was the relationship between Terrible and Chess. First of all I can't say enough how amazed I am at the awesomeness that is Terrible. I just want him. And they both battled a lot of issues in this book. I suffered right along with both. I had no sides. They were both wrong, they were both right, and they both broke my heart. And they were smutty-good!
Another great thing about this book was the storyline. Nothing went as I thought it would. Well, with the exception that I always suspected of the certain someone that wasn't revealed until the end. Other than that I was left gaping at every turn and just thinking "Damn, would something just go the right way for once? Please!!!".
At the end of the day, this book had it all! I am even more in love with Terrible, I like Chess a lot, even though she still pops her pills. And I actually liked Lex ('cuz you know I wasn't such a big fan of his in the other books and you know why).
But could I ask you a huge favor? Could you write faster? I really don't want to have to wait until March now for the next book! I may sound like Chess now looking for a fix.
"You know I do, aye? Love you right, Chessiebomb."
Lothaire the Enemy of Old. He's arrogant, self-centered, selfish, powerful, driven, egotistical, ruthless. He wouldn't stop at anything to get what heLothaire the Enemy of Old. He's arrogant, self-centered, selfish, powerful, driven, egotistical, ruthless. He wouldn't stop at anything to get what he wants. His only fear is betrayal. Betrayal by the ones he cares about, which is why he stopped letting people close.
Ohh but how I've loved his badass self throughout this series and this book was off-the-charts amazing. Completely different than a lot of the books in this series, this author never ceases to amaze me. She can create a completely different story every single time.
He's known his bride was Elizabeth since she was nothing but a human teenager. A mountain redneck human teenager, with no class and very little education at that. He never thought he could be paired with one such as her. Until Saroya possesses Ellie's body. That must be his bride. Fit to rule alongside him when he recovers his kingdoms! To free Saroya, he must destroy Ellie's soul. But he can't do that without La Doradas' ring. RRIIINNNNGGGGGGGG
I'm not telling you what happens, all I want to say is this: Lothaire is one bad, ruthless vampire, but he will make your body shudder and your girly bits quiver! He is so sexy! So in charge and in control! Ellie is very sweet and maybe just the right personality for him, and definitely the right species to bring him down a notch.
They've both been through so much but there were times when my heart would break for Lothaire, what he has suffered, why he is the way he is. And the moment he realizes that others have tried to help him and have been there for him is priceless.
And how can we forget the valkyries, crazy as always, love them. Best of all Nix. She has her lucid moments and her crazy ones, but when the haze in her head has to clear she manages to show us a bit more of her true self in this book. And all the new characters? Ohh the possibilities!
And the last thing I just have to say... if you've never listened to an audiobook, do yourself a favor and get this one. Robert Petkoff brings Lothaire to life, with a perfect and very sexy accent, and enough emotion in telling this story that I felt I was actually watching it play out in front of me.
In case all that was too much to decipher: I.L.O.V.E.D.T.H.I.S.B.O.O.K....more

Conall:n. Hot as hell, viking sexyness, half vampire half shifter. He has the best of all worlds wrapped up in one. (And me wrapped around his finger!)
Sinead:n. Total bad ass chick. Sex demon, full time assassin, and the cause of the Apocalypse! My favorite heroine in this series!
I LOVED THIS BOOK! Even more the second time around. There was plenty of action, emotions, romance, steamy scenes and world-changing events.
Sin Fever is killing the warg population, except it's only affecting turned wargs, a little known fact discovered by our hot resident demon doctor Eidolon, and they are trying to keep quiet about it so they don't start a war between born and turned wargs.
Con is torn between having to fulfill a role in the dhampire council and is assigned the role of guinea pig to find a cure for Sin Fever. His body might be creating certain defenses by drinking her blood. But how much more of it can he have before he becomes addicted? And being in close proximity with Sin might be bad for his health. He had a taste of her, body and blood, and now that's all he can think of! All he wants. And isn't it just so convenient that while they are alone together, and he has to protect her, even from her own assassins, he also has to satisfy her demon urges.
Sin and Con will rock your world! They will have you excited, mad, panting, moaning and crying! This was such an emotional ride, and I never wanted it to end!
I'm soooo sad this is the last book in this series, even though there's a spinoff series... I'll miss everyone at Underworld General and all my favorite people! WAR was introduced a bit in this book, and the setup for the next series was laid out, and it all just sounds intriguing. Of course, you have to hate Sin sometimes, she got both hotties! Con AND War! Not fair!!!
One of my favorite series!!!!! Loved this book, there was plenty of action, emotion, romance, steamy scenes, and as always, you get such a good view into everyone's point of view to really be able to get into the whole Demonica World. I'm soooo sad this is the last book in this series, even though there's a spinoff series... I'm guessing we won't get to see too much of Underworld General and all my favorite people!!!!! Please keep them in some way in the next books!!!!! I love Larissa Ione's writing style, the humor put into the dialog. This was the best book in the series! And I LOVED the previous ones!
"Kiss me again without my permission," she whispered against his lips, "and I'll gouge you and sell your balls to a Ruthenian specialty meat shop. Understood?" "You won't do that." He whispered back. "You'd miss them too much." "Men are always overestimating the worth of their genitals."
"Yeah, I need sex or I die. so stop with the obnoxious chaperon shit because I really don't want you anywhere nearby while I'm doing it. And I don't think you want that either." She gave them her sweetest smile. "And I know that the second you're gone, I'm going to ride Con until he begs for mercy."...more

I’m not quite sure where to start. But let me tell you one thing…. Jeaniene Frost still got it! BOUND BY FLAMES blew me away, kept me riveted and kept my adrenaline pumping. This book lives up to every expectation I didn’t even know I had. Yeah, it’s that good. Vlad is back with a vengeance! This is the Vlad I fell in love with in the Night Huntress series. Ruthless, possessive, exasperating, pure dominant alpha male. Did I mention Vlad tended toward the brutal side of archaic? I think there will be a lot of Vlad gushing in this review, so excuse me from now.
I don’t want to give too much away from the story. Just know that Vlad is still fighting his number one enemy. And this is a big sneaky one! As far as bad guys go, Ms. Frost gives Vlad a run for his money with this guy. Definitely a worthy opponent and one that really kept me on my toes and kept shocking me! Making this such an action packed story.
Leila, let’s talk about her. She’s more and more like Cat for me. She’s growing, she’s learning, she’s tough, and she will fight tooth and nail for her love and her relationship. She will endure anything she must. And she will survive. Go girl power in this book, Leila rocks it! And just as Leila rocks it, Vlad is so intense and overbearing that it’s everything I’ve always known him to be! Oh, but if he was real I would stab him in his sleep. But this is top book boyfriend material, not just for now, but forever. Vlad has secured a permanent spot in my list of favorite heroes ever.
utc-top-pickThis book is not as hot as some might have expected after such infamous scenes that Ms. Frost has written. But every sex scene is so strategically placed and carries just the perfect emotion needed during that moment in the story! What a great job with that! And when I say not as hot, I don’t mean it’s dull. Vlad knows how to rock a girls world and he definitely does that and then some. Have I mentioned how much I need to change my name to Leila? Leila Dracula that is.
For the Night Huntress series fans out there, Cat is in this one! Beware that there is a huge spoiler if you haven’t read the last book in the Night Huntress series! But Cat gets the job done here as well. And some of our favorites from that series make a cameo in this one too, like Marie Laveau.
BOUND BY FLAMES is a pulse-pounding, electric and combustible ride! This series just gets better! This book is SAVAGE, that is probably the best way to describe it. I loved every single minute of it. If you’re not reading this now, you’re missing out. If you haven’t read this series yet, you’re missing out. I can’t wait for more!
“Months ago, you made me ask you if you would marry me. This time, I’m not asking. I’m telling you to say yes, so say it, and be mine for eternity.” “Yes. Yesterday, today, forever… yes.”

I want to have L.H. Cosway’s babies! There, I said it. I love everything this woman writes and HEARTS OF FIRE is no exception. Another absolute winner to her huge line of massive hits. HEARTS OF FIRE is an enthralling story, one that you don’t even realize how quickly you loose yourself in. Unique, compelling, enchanting. Jack McCabe made my heart beat fast, Lille will quickly become of your favorite heroines of the year. The supporting cast will steal your heart. I am completely out of words when it comes to Ms. Cosway and the awesome stories that live in her head.
I’ve read a few circus themed books and oddly enough I can’t get enough of them. L.H. Cosway puts her personal stamp on this story writing about a non-commercial traveling circus. They don’t announce their dates anywhere, they just pick up and go then advertise in the new town where they set up camp. The perfect environment for a bunch of misfits trying to escape their pasts. And at the helm of that is Jack McCabe. We first heard of Jack in SIX OF HEARTS, but we thought him dead. He’s Jay Field’s long lost brother, and he’s had a rough life to get through. A life full of heartache and adversities. That’s built the tough exterior he shows the world. But that tough exterior is what draws you in at first. He’s dangerous. He’s mysterious. I mean, he’s a fire breather that looks like Jason Momoa. Can I just say HOT? I fell for Jack like I always do for Ms. Cosway’s heroes. Hard and fast. And completely. One of my top book boyfriends of 2015.
utc-top-pickThen there’s Lille. A girl who has to live to her mother’s expectations. Not being able to do what her heart tells her. Her mom expects her to study a certain thing, date a certain person, be what she envisions. But that’s not what Lille wants. And after one meeting with Jack and her first circus experience she decides to run away from home and join the circus! She’s a dreamer and a bit innocent, you can’t help but want to be her friend and hug her! Her softness has a way of getting Jack to open up that no other would’ve had (except maybe me, because…. come on!)
Their chemistry is instant, their story is perfectly paced. This is a book you are guaranteed to fall in love with. While living the crazy and sometimes dangerous life of a traveling circus, a strong bond is formed. And while we are talking about falling in love and hearts being stolen, be prepared to cry your little eyes out for Jack at some point. Just saying. The sexual chemistry is off the charts and made me push some boundaries with Jack’s preferences and needs in that department. Only Jack could make that get me all hot and bothered. But then again, Jack can probably want to do anything and I’d be up for it. I was pleasantly surprised at how Lille handled herself with both Jack’s past and Jack’s sexual needs. Just made me love the girl even more.
This book sets up the story for King, and I cannot wait for KINGS OF HEARTS to come out. I’m literally dying and have such high expectations I could pass out.
“I want to consume you, steal your light and make myself a little bit more. You’re more, Lille. I want to be more, too.”
“Now that I knew about his bedroom preferences, even seeing fire reminded me of sex. And sex with Jack was something that branded itself into your memory like hot steel permanently marking your skin.”

For Nalini Singh’s tenth book of the Psy-Changeling series, we decided to do something special for this Kiss of Snow review. Since we are all big fans of his series, we decided to write a “review” as an IM transcript. Please note that what you read below is actually a real conversation between Francesca and I and that the opinions expressed here are our own and events that take place did in fact happen.
We hope you enjoy and let us know in the comments if you would like to see more reviews written in this type of format! We’d love to hear your thoughts! On to KISS OF SNOW:
Francesca: I think we need to give a warning to anyone that will read this book!
Annie: Okay, like this? WARNING! This book is so addictive, so sexy that you’ll need an extra change of panties (or two)!! Will require a day’s rest after reading the orgasmic alpha that is Hawke! Bring your gush bucket! You mean like that?
Annie: And a defibulator for when your heart stops beating at Hawke’s sexy words!!
Francesca: Exactly! YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED!! OK, so I think we can start with our fangirl crush. How excited are we to finally have Hawke's book?!?!?!
Annie: Hawke! Hawke! Hawkee!!!! Hawke has been a favourite of mine every since he flirted with the DarkRiver alpha's mate, Sascha.
Francesca: Mine too. I feel like I've waited forever to read his story! Did you always want his mate to be Sienna?
Annie: Hawke has had my heart since the beginning. And NO, I wanted to be his mate. But if there had to be someone, then yes, Sienna was always the one for him. There was no doubt about that. How do you feel about the age difference between Hawke and Sienna?
Francesca: They've been tip-toeing around each other since Hawke took the Laurens' in, and as long as they waited for her to be adult, the age difference was never an issue for me. However I think it was addressed and dealt with perfectly in this book. My only problem with the age difference...We get 50% of what Hawke could've been. What about the romance and all the sexual tension?
Annie: I think the romance starts off from the very beginning. They have great chemistry. They just haven't acted upon it yet, you know?
Francesca: I agree. The build up is actually PERFECT. I like that he's not jumping her every time she offers. LOL
Annie: She's scared of him. He's a sexually potent guy and in addition, he's alpha. She's young too. Plus a Psy.
Francesca: What was your take on Sienna's development in character? From previous appearances in other books and her actions/decisions in this book?
Annie: I thinks she has come a long way. I didn't think I'd like her much. I don't LOVE her, but I don't hate her either. I think....I'm jealous mostly.
Francesca: I'm jealous too, but I'm just a little disappointed that Hawke is not getting the hot book from cover to cover I was expecting, he has to contain himself because he's afraid of scaring her.
Annie: It's not as hot as I thought it would be. But I knew there would be lots of sexual tension and there's plenty of that. I like that Sienna knows she wants Hawke despite her "younger" status. Hawke is infuriating, I love it when he gets angry!
Francesca: Hawke is just TOO SENSUAL, TOO DECADENT, TOO SEXY. I'm a puddle at his feet right now! He can do with me as he pleases
Annie: That's so true! I wouldn't change Hawke given the chance. I thought he was so sexy, so irresistible, I couldn't get enough of him! (Cue the swooning, please) And what about the sex scenes? Yeah?
Francesca: Hawke is a SEX GOD!
Annie: Lots of groans and "Ohh my GOD!!!" moments for me. I had to take frequent breaks to control myself.
Francesca: He's soooo alpha. I was literally panting through the last 25% of the book.
Annie: Gah! Yes! The ending was... wow! I have no words. Beyond anything I could conjure up myself. Action-packed is an understatement. I know you're a big fan of Riley and Drew as well, after reading this... who's your man now?
Francesca: That's a tough question. Can I just keep all 4??? You forgot to include my man Judd in there! You know, something I loved about this book is how we still get to see Judd, Riley and Drew involved in the storyline.
Annie: How would I forget sexy Judd?! And I won't judge if you want them all! I'd do the same! Speaking of others in the storyline... What did you think of Sascha?
Francesca: She was a bit different in this one. I liked how they're slowly showing us her relationship with Nikita developing and maybe even unfolding things that could've been in the past. Nikita may have a heart after all! I think she loved Sascha from the beginning and was protecting her. And what about Lucas?
Annie: I liked Lucas's protectiveness in this one. Loved that he would do anything to protect his woman and child. It was endearing and hot, showing that animalistic side that I don't think we always witness with the level-headed alpha. Okay, if Lucas and Hawke were dueling it out, who do you think would win?
Francesca: Definitely Hawke!!! I personally think he is a tougher alpha, at least from what we saw in this book.
Annie: Hawke was amazing!
Francesca: I'm curious to see what you thought of the Psy in this one!
Annie: Is it just me or don't the Psy seem more dead and emotionless than they did in previous books? So devoid of anything. Creeps me the hell out.
Francesca: Yeah I agree. Pure Psy and Ming are getting very bad!! But the arrows have some feeling!
Annie: I'm very interested to see how that plays out! My mind is still trying to wrap my brain around who the ghost is.
Francesca: I was pretty sure it was Kaleb before. And I'm still 70% - 75% on Kaleb, but after this book, Vasic is starting to look like another likely possibility. But I just want Kaleb to get a book!
Annie: What about Walker and Lara? Aren't they so sweet together?
Francesca: Lara and Walker were such a nice addition to this book. I thought they were getting their own book before, but I think their story kept the sexual tension going! Loved it! Walker is so strong and sweet and loyal. I loved to see him caring for Lara all the time.
Annie: They had their own bit of tension going on themselves. I loved it! It felt like an added bonus to an already sexy book. Who do you think should get their own book?
Francesca: RIAZ!!!!!! Right now I'm liking his character the most. Mysterious and sexy! So maybe Riaz and Jem??? What do we think about that? I want Riaz to get a mate! LOL He seems so intense. Have we seen Jem before? And after giving him some time to grow up more, I think Kit will have a really hot book.
Annie: LOL! Yes yes! I want more of both!
Francesca: Which brings me to my next question... We met a lot of young wolves, who did you like best?
Annie: Hmm Tai. Kid’s growing up quick!
Francesca: I think Evie (Indigo's sister) sounds like a really cool character. I hope she gets a story even if she doesn't end up with Tai.
Annie: Even if they don't end up together, I would still want to read about them.
Francesca: I also liked that we get to see the dynamics of the SnowDancers as a pack. The strategy, the meetings, the caring for each other...
Annie: Sooo....Team DarkRiver or Team SnowDancer?
Francesca: You should know my answer to that! SNOWDANCER.
Annie: Ok ok I did know that. Me? I'm Team Changeling! LOL I can’t decide!
Francesca: I’m laughing my ass off now. Apparently my boyfriend has our convo on HIS phone somehow and he just told me that there’s this Annie girl texting him about some Lucas dude.
Francesca: He says we’re both retarded! Then he started laughing, LOL!
Annie: This is so embarrassing! Omg, tell him I’m sorry. Next time I text him, I’ll talk about a chick instead, LOL!
Francesca: Okay, he said he’ll respond to that and you can be his secret lover!
Annie: LOL, you got it baby! I wonder what he thought about the gush bucket comment. Never mind. I don’t want to further embarrass myself.
Francesca: OMG I can't stop laughing! Alright, so I have one last question for you... Is it just me being extremely weird, but I have a thing for the RAT, Teijan, what about you?
Annie: Me too!!! Maybe he'll get a book soon? What do you girls think about him? Tell us in the comments!
Francesca: Well, I think we're done! And I'm still Team SnowDancer. What team are you on? VOTE BELOW!!!!
"How was dessert?" she asked, her throat a husky reminder that she'd screamed at the end. A flash of teeth. "I plan to go back for seconds in a bit." She sucked in a breath. "Bad wolf." Sliding down his hand, he tugged at her damp curls. "Hungry wolf."
Her heart, her damned vulnerable heart, had been his from the day she understood what it was he incited against him. She had no true shields against him. Never had. Never would....more

There are times you crack open a book and you just know you will fall in love. That was my feeling as soon as I started reading DARK SKYE. I haven’t been this giddy and excited about a book in a long time and just as I was excited to dive in, I was also really nervous. Will it live up to all my GREAT expectations?
Reading DARK SKYE was like rediscovering a great connection to an old friend. It made me feel again what it was like to read a truly amazing book. Sadly, I do feel like this level of writing and talent is missing in books these days. But trust the masterful Kresley Cole to bring me to that happy place again. DARK SKYE is a book lovers’ heaven. You can get lost among the utter perfection of its pages and adventures, the banter and the seduction. This story has it all!
Rich world building, amazing character descriptions – so many new species, and one hell of an adventure. Kresley Cole doesn’t pull any punches with this one. DARK SKYE is, without a doubt, the most action packed, edge of your seat adventure she’s written thus far in the series. It’s a captivating tale of romance that beats all odds. A second chance at love that transcends time. And these were the two most perfect characters for this story.
Thronos is my newest book boyfriend. Chained in my basement of men I lust over. A male so intense in his love and his passion that will make you swoon. Yes, I did quite a bit of that in this book. First of there’s the fact that he has it ALL. Fangs, wings and horns. Be still my galloping heart. And he’s a virgin hero. I have a big soft spot for those. He’s been true to his mate, Lanthe since he met her when they were mere kids. Five hundred years later, there’s a lot of heat that needs to explode. And explode it does. When Thronos claims his mate you will be nothing but a puddle of goo on the floor. Did I mention the horns? I’m a sucker for horns!
utc-top-pickOf course, I can’t just talk about my obsession, the hero. Lanthe is a witch and it is no secret that I love the witches in this series. They are a fun bunch, and almost as much as the valkyries, they will keep a male on his toes. As much as Lanthe holds the anger about what she perceived where Throno’s actions all those centuries ago, her love and connection with this male cannot be denied. But she won’t be oppressed either. She’s everything I love in a kick ass chick.
But lets get to the story shall we? Expect the unexpected. Nothing is as it seems. There are revelations with every turn. Things will get much worst and when you think there is no hope left, Kresley Cole will twist that knife in just a little deeper. This is not for the faint of heart. Once this book gets going, it will not stop.
To be honest, I didn’t want this to end. This is one of my favorite books of this year so far. Kresley Cole is a master at her craft, giving us so much wit and humor, chemistry and sensuality. All while driving a story that not only finally gives Thronos and Lanthe a much needed HEA, but this book further explores the IAD world as a whole. Don’t blink, you will want to pay attention to every detail as it will only give you more excitement for things to come. After 14 books in this series I would’ve never suspected to say that each book gets better. Favorites come and go, but this series is only getting stronger and I can’t wait to see what’s next!
His head rushed towards her body. She braced for a vicious strike of his horns. Instead of hitting her, he rubbed the base of one over her shoulder and neck, marking her with his scent.
“Melanthe is” – everything missing from my life – “my ideal female.” She wasn’t thus because she was faultless, but because he adored even her faults. He didn’t just want her, he needed her. They were each halves of a greater whole.

Last year I wrote a sincere letter spilling my feelings. Now I have to confess that I wanted to punch you in the face when this book started and almost through the halfway mark. But I should also apologize because I should’ve never doubted how magnificent you are. The epitome of everything alpha male that I love and crave. You can be ruthless and you can be sweet. Scorching and yet oh so tender and romantic. But you are always YOU. Who would’ve thought I would fall more in love with you, yet here I am. Falling deeper in love with you. And having to share you with Leila. But it’s ok, she’s worthy of you and I can deal as long as I get Mr. Hot Hands to myself sometimes.
Your true lover,
The Night Prince series has more of paranormal romance feel for me than Ms. Frost’s Night Huntress. It is all about Vlad and Leila, how they work together, their romance grows, their powers expand and how they change for each other. Vlad took a turn for the worst in the beginning but I have to stay that throughout this series and even after falling in love, Ms. Frost has kept his character true to his self. He’s a badass, he’s dominating, he’s powerful, and things supposed to go as he wants.
Leila wants more from him than he seems willing to give so she decides to leave. There is still a big bad after Vlad and now they are going after his next weakest link, which is Leila. There’s suspense and action and an all too sexy vampire that steams up the pages with his personality, his anger and his sex appeal.
Through all this, I have to say Leila is a great heroine. She’s smart and cautious, but she’s strong enough to face things head on. She was again great in TWICE TEMPTED. She’s able to stand up to big tough old vampires as well as her own family. She follows her heart and protects who she loves. I give her a great 5 stars for being such a memorable heroine and not letting herself be overshadowed by the greatness that is Vlad.
This was one of my favorite reads of this year, and not just because I’m crushing hard on Vlad. It was action packed, emotionally charged, and corchingly hot. What more could I ask for? Now I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I might’ve brought Vlad to his knees at last, but in so many ways, he would never bend. I knew that as surely as I knew I’d always love him, and it left me with only one answer.
“I dare because I want no misunderstand between us. I am everything you think I am, but I love your daughter, and what I love, I protect with all of the violence in me, which, as you’ve guessed, is considerable.”

I was so excited to get this book, and start reading it as soon as it came out! I've been on Cat & Bones withdrawals because the 4th book in the series was a bit mehh, and then we got 2 books in the Night Huntress World spin-off, and I was not so happy with Spade's, and I did liked Mencheres.
But here we are back with Cat & Bones.... Ahhhh... Opening scene... LOVED IT! I wouldn't mind having him shackled to a cave wall! After that though it started going really slow for me.
The story was ok enough, but it wasn't GREAT. I had really high expectations for this book, and didn't feel like it met them 100%, even though it was a good book (I did rate it 4 stars!) I mainly feel like Cat lost some of her spark and spunk from the beginning of the series, and she didn't feel like she was as confident. And although she was funny at times, sometimes she got a little on my nerves. And that's not good since we're getting the story from her POV.
Bones was amazing in this book however! OMG! I'm in love with him, he can do no wrong! His connection to Cat felt rekindled in this book where it was a bit lacking in the last NH book. And yeah, of course, that brings up the elephant in the room... Chapter 21!!!! I knew before hand from comments on GR to watch out for that chapter, so I paid extra attention, I might've read it twice ;) It was HOT, YOWZA, INTENSE and did I mention REALLY HOT? It has been compared to Chapter 32 of One Foot in the Grave, and I'll agree it gives it a run for the money. It all depends on your preferences. I actually went back and re-read Chapter 32 after finishing this book to be able to compare with a fresh image. There's a lot of biting involved in both, except OFITG was Bones doing the biting, in TSOTG was Cat. But biting aside, I think this book gives us a little bit more intense view of what else they were doing aside from all the biting ;) And I loved seeing Bones lose control! Enough said!
One of my favorite lines in the book is from Bones, when he tells Timmy to ask what he wants about vampires but then he says "If you ask me if I sparkle I'll kill you" LMAO!
Vlad... where do I start... He's the best! He had the best lines in the book ("Premature inflammation! Very embarrassing, I don't like to talk about it!" Come on! I was ROTFLMAO) There was plenty of him in this book and I still want more!
Mencheres... 2 things.... 1 - Him having sex with Kira while Bones and Cat where waiting to see and could hear him... LOL 2 - The shorts and t-shirt at the airport?!?!? That I would have to see!
Ian... Not enough of him in this one. I would love to see his character developed a bit more, I know he has to mature before he can get his own book but he has the potential. And I couldn't believe his comment about Veritas... I always picture her as a kid! Even though she's old as dirt.
The twist at the end.... I could've used at least one more page after the last word!!!! WHAT?!?!?!?!? I'm dying to read the next book and see what the hell happened there!!!!!...more

Adam claimThis book was better than the first one! I actually cared about Mercy more. And, all in all, it delivered a pretty good urban fantasy story.
Adam claiming Mercy as his mate for pack politics? Great, if she would've kept going out with him past just a few dates. Now, the scene that got interrupted by his daughter.... That I wouldn't have minded reading a bit more about ;) Mercy talking to ghosts? That brought in some humor and a fun character. Mercy allowing Sam to kiss her? Twice?!!?!?! Gotta put an end to that. And wait... this is no longer a triangle? We don't need to add any more issues here, let's keep it simple!
Sam - He is still living with Mercy, he is growing on me, but more as a friend. I wasn't to thrilled with his original mentality of wanting Mercy because that was almost a sure ticket to getting kids. He is a good guy, and I admit he does love Mercy now, and genuinely cares for her, and I wish I could find a character that would suit him better. I was sad to read about his past history and his girlfriend losing his kid.
Adam - Where do I start? He is hot. He's all alpha, possessive, dominant, protective, and he should be more aggressive and forward with Mercy. Come on!!!!!
Stefan - What happens in this book threw me for a loop, specially at the end, once you read the book, or if you've read it, you'll know why. WHAT?!?!?!!? Anyway, he gets Mercy involved in all this vampire politics drama. I wonder if there really will be lasting effects... Vampire politics are a mess.
Warren - I was really sad about him getting injured. I'm glad to know he is more dominant than we thought, and that he gets back with Kyle in the end.
Mercy - I felt that she had more of a backbone in this story. She's growing, experiencing more things, and starting to feel more comfortable in what she can do. Just please give Adam a chance already! She played it smart, used the resources at her advantage, created a beneficial association with a cop that could help them in the future and at the end saved the day. She did good!...more

It's taken me a while to get to read this, and I'm excited to see where Kate's story will go from here.
Ms. Andrews has created a completely different world involving shifters, magic, and some of the weirdest and most disgusting vampires I've ever read! It did take me a while to understand fully what was going on, but once I was able to follow the ins and outs of the story, I enjoyed it a lot.
Kate is actually pretty kick ass, but level-headed. She knows what she's doing, and I hope that in future books I keep enjoying her character! And the girl drinks Corona! LOL
And then there's sexy Curran.... "Here... kitty, kitty." He's a total bad-ass. I loved him. I also loved when he went to the same fancy restaurant where Kate was with her date with the doctor. RAWR *claws air* He's just hot, he's the toughest shifter, and he has a soft spot for Kate... He even helps her fix her roof! Awww
I am really excited to see where the storyline will go from here since at the end we get the perfect opening for her new job and role....more

Saiman, very intriguing, what is truly his deal? Derek, I just felt so bad for him. I also LOVED Andrea and Raphael! Cutest thing ever to see Raphael chasing after her.
Funniest moment ever:
"His Majesty needs a can-I girl anyway. And I’m not it.” “A can-I girl?” Andrea frowned. I leaned back. “ ‘ Can I fetch you your food, Your Majesty? Can I tell you how strong and mighty you are, Your Majesty? Can I pick out your fleas, Your Majesty? Can I kiss your ass, Your Majesty? Can I . . .” It dawned on me that Raphael was sitting very still. Frozen, like a statue, his gaze fixed on the point above my head. “He’s standing behind me, isn’t he?” Andrea nodded slowly. “Technically it should be ‘may I,’” Curran said, his voice deeper than I remembered. “Since you’re asking permission.”...more

Can that be my whole review of this book??? This book was amazing! I didn't want it to end! It is the best I've read so far in the series. It just had it all!
At first I'll admit I was PISSED at Curran because I thought he stood up Kate for that naked dinner she owed him. Then she's called in to investigate the deaths of shifters. But things only get more complicated from there when this investigation brings Kate face to face with her own family.
And yes! finally we get a resolution to all the tension between Kate and Curran! Woohoooo! And it was all that and then some! Curran is one hot shifter that's for sure. But he also proves how much he cares for Kate and wants her in his life permanently, not just how much he wants her physically.
And among all this, there was so much humor! This book definetely had it all! The attack poodle! LOL I love him! I loved that Curran glued her ass to the chair!!! OMG I laughed so much with this book.

OK, so now that I got that out of the way... Kaderin is a valkyrie and she's been "cursed" with not being able to feel for a thousand years, since the death of her sisters, who were killed by a vampire. She is tough (as all valkyrie are), loves and lives for killing vampires and for the Hie (like the Amazing Race). That whole concept was new and interesting. Kaderin always enters (and wins) this race and this year is no different. Well, except for the fact that before it starts she hears of a vampire in a castle and goes there to slay him, but realizes that she can't. She is his Bride, and because of him, after so long, she starts to feel again. She in turn wakes him from years of misery.
Sebastian is Nikolai Wroth's brother. He was turned by Nikolai against his will and has hated being a vampire during his whole existence. He just wishes for final death. And Kaderin is the one supposed to bring it to him, which he is fine with, until he realizes she's His. The one for him. His Bride. And he will do anything to have her, protect her, cherish her, and live eternity with her.
While Kaderin has to compete in the Hie, Sebastian enters as well, with the intention of wining for her. The prize seems to be something she wants above all other things. A key to go back in time twice. He doesn't think it could work, and he doesn't know why she wants to get it, but he is determined to help her or win it for her. They have some competition, and some tough competition in the form of Bowen, the lykae who we met in the previous book, and who wants the key to go back in time and rescue his dead mate.
There a lot of action, intrigue, and some pretty amazing sexual tension and eventually, yes, sex. And even though Sebastian is not a virgin, he's not the most experienced in that department so it's up to Kaderin to teach him, which he learns quickly, and to be his first in many things.
Their relationship develops perfectly. It's not the "I'm in love" at first sight, their love develops from constantly being together, liking each other, their company, their support. Even though there were no major events in the overall world for this series, this was an excellent book and I'll be looking forward to reading the next one soon!...more

Highly anticipated books like this always scare me. What happens if the author can’t take the pressure of writing such an anticipated story and it falls flat? What if it doesn’t go the way I WANT it to go? There are no guarantees and I was both extremely excited and extremely scared to start reading.
Another fear of mine was the fact that knowing this book had the big Ghost reveal, this story would be centered around the Psy. In the past, the psy-only books have not been my favorites. They lack some of the intensity that the changelings bring to the world.
I shouldn’t have worried. I was hooked from the very first line. I wrote my review with names in it and then have changed them to HERO and HEROINE in case people don’t want to know.
There are some series that always have a tough leader, a guy that makes those sometimes ruthless decisions that go against most morals. He may seem heartless but there is always a purpose to his actions. The last one I remember that caught my interest as much was Jonas from the Breeds series by Lora Leigh. But after that, it’s been the HERO. The HERO, who should be psy and Silent, but has so much bottled up passion he could melt you at his feet. The HERO, who is ruthless in the pursuit of what he wants and won’t leave anything or anyone who gets in his path standing.
Then focus all that intensity on the woman he loves. OMG!!!!! Ms. Singh, I am in awe of what you’ve done with this story. From all the layers to the HERO we get to unfold, to the story of his one true love. This is a second chance at love story. The girl he fell in love with as a kid and was taken from him. Brutally. The one he’s been searching for since. For such a hard shell on the exterior, I couldn’t help but melt at the softness inside of him.
The HERO is, in one word, INTENSE. There’s so much he has learned to keep bottled up and as that shell cracks and all that intensity spills out….. Be prepared to fall in love. Changelings have nothing on the HERO.
The HEROINE was also perfect for him. The perfect balance to his intensity. Nurturing, soft, but strong at the core. Able to stand on her own. Able to fight for her man. Able to heal him.
Then there’s the Ghost. On this subject, I’m keeping my mouth shut. However, I will say that I found the big reveal a bit….anticlimactic. After waiting to find out who the Ghost is for so long, I was expecting bombs going off, cities collapsing and the Ghost riding in on some white horse to save the race. I don’t know. I wanted something epic. Instead, we find out as almost an afterthought. And that’s all I’m going to say. No more.
Nalini Singh’s writing has the ability to paint a picture in my mind. Beautifully crafted words that flow and let the imagination run wild. And for the span of time it took me to read this book, I was living it.
I wish I could give this book 10 Stars! Every single page of this book is packed with intensity. It’s enthralling, all consuming, and mind blowing. Yes, I was thoroughly blown away! This will be one I want to re-read and hold dear.
The bed slammed back to the ground. Hard. So did every other item in the room.
“I’d line the streets with bodies before I’d ever hurt you.”
“Why are you holding me?” Closing his hand over hers, the tanned skin of his shoulders warm in the sunlight pouring through the window, he said, “Because you belong to me.”
Let me start by saying that this book scared the bejesus out of me! No, not all the time, but I did have to put it down for the night because it was
Let me start by saying that this book scared the bejesus out of me! No, not all the time, but I did have to put it down for the night because it was not what I wanted to be reading at 1am while everything was dark and I was getting creeped out. LOL But I enjoyed every bit of it!
If you take ALMOST FAMOUS and you throw in a decent amount of QUEEN OF THE DAMNED, minus the vampires but keeping it paranormal, then you will get THE DEVIL’S METAL. And if there is one author out there that can pull that off and make me want to read it and like it, then that’s Karina Halle.
This is a unique story set in the 1970s of a young aspiring reporter and music reviewer who gets the chance of a lifetime… going on tour with her favorite band to write an article about them for Creem Magazine. It’s a tough world out there for a female journalist and this is the piece that will make her known. Of course, it helps she’s with the band.
Dawn is 21, her mother killed herself, her dad is an alcohol and her younger brother has Tourette Syndrome. To say she’s had a tough life is an understatement. She still has a great attitude and a lot of drive. The love interest in this story is the dark and brooding guitarist of Hybrid, Sage Knightly. I had an instant fascination with him but it wasn’t until closer to the end of the book that he started puling at the strings of my heart. And then there’s the band.
“We all lost our souls when we joined this band…… ”
The band has issues, and they don’t know it yet. I won’t tell you what the book is about because it was fun to be surprised and spooked along while reading it, but I will say this… Be careful what you wish you.
This book had a bit of everything. Crazy rockstar sex and drug antics, near death moments, creepy gross moments, and a whole lot of WTF?!?!? Karina Halle didn’t pull any punches and dug in. I’ve come to think of her books as MUST WATCH because, quite frankly, this would make a great horror movie!
The ending was not how I expected things to go down, and the twist (or would that be a cliffhanger) at the end was something I had seen coming for a little while. The clues were there, but it still doesn’t make sense to me. I just don’t think Dawn did the same as Sage, so how did she find herself in that position. But that’s a story for the next book to explain. :)
On a side note…
From the blurb…”The Devil’s Metal is the first book in a two-part New Adult Horror/Paranormal Romance and very (very!) loosely based on the author’s exploits as a music journalist. Hell comes in different forms.”
What? Seriously!? I just have to know which parts are the “loosely” based on…teehee.

I am so sad to see this series end. It really doesn't have to! There are still so many stories that they could create! Please, please, please! Or maybe write a spin-off series??? Something!! That's the end of my fangirl moment.
Taken by Fire is mainly the story of Stryker. He has such a cool power, he can affect basically earth, so watch out you don't piss him off or you may cause an earthquake! He is assigned to kill Melanie/Phoebe, the chick with two personalities that killed Akbar in the forest at the end of the last book. He watched as his friend burned in front of him, so this mission is personal for him. He wants to squeeze the life out of her!
Except once he finds her she explains to him about her dual personality. Can he believe her? There are actually two people living inside her body thanks to an Itor experiment, Phoebe is the bad one, and Melanie is the good one. Phoebe is out most of the time and has abused Melanie for a long time. Phoebe is the Itor agent, Melanie doesn't know anything. They each have a different power, Phoebe is fire, Melanie is ice. And yes, they find out that she's Alek's daughter (head of Itor), which of course makes Dev change his plans and decide to just bring her in, not kill her. (view spoiler)[She is his sister after all. (hide spoiler)]
She needs sex to recharge her powers and when they find themselves in a situation where he needs her to get them out of a bind, he is the only choice for sex. After that first time, which was rough, she admits that even though her body might've not been, she was actually a virgin, and yes, Oz's prediction comes back to mind "You will marry a virgin."
He quickly starts developing feelings for Melanie, and after those first few rushed times, which were still pretty hot, there's more of a connection between them. Can I just say that even though this book was just a tad less creative in the sex department, at least with the main characters, they still had some hot scenes. They joined the mile high club and almost brought down the plane with both their powers; the back of an SUV after playing and training with her powers; he sits down at the kitchen table to have dessert *THUD*
So yeah, I liked the main characters in this one. I felt bad for Melanie, I hated Phoebe she was a total bitch! And let me warn you, Phoebe does get a little rough and there might be some scenes where you can't believe they went that far with what she was allowed to do, but that was still ok with me.
Now let me get to my favorite characters of ACRO. In every book, Creed&Annika and Dev&Gabe&Oz were also reason enough for me to keep reading. Their side storylines are amazing in my opinion. I did feel a lack of Creed and Annika in this book, we didn't get a lot of time with them and I missed them. Annika is pregnant, Creed is stressing out about Oz's vision that she would die if she has his child, Annika is pissed at Stryker for sleeping with Akbar's killer. But we didn't see a lot of Creed/Annika time.
Dev... He was my favorite character in this book! He is so intense, emotionally raw and devastatingly hot! Gabe is actually more the romantic and wants more from Dev than a booty call. Dev has to learn to cope with that and to give Gabe what he needs while still dealing with the takedown of Itor and his newly found sister(s) in ACRO's custody. Some of the best sex, and almost sex scenes in this book are Dev & Gabe's. Oh.My.Gawd!!!!!! HAWT! That's all I got to say. You have to read it! And yes, there is a threesome in this one! Oz gets to have a body for just one night!!!! *THUD*
The last two or three chapters of this book had me in tears... constantly. I cried for everyone! I'm tearing up again now. It seemed like there would be no resolutions or happy endings for anybody, and my heart was breaking. It was a great ending! Full of emotion, full of action. The ACRO family is all there. But I still don't want it to end! I can't let go!
"I'd miss my own crowning to be the King of England to be with you." - Stryker
Because he's yours, Oz whispered in his ear, even though he remained where Gabe could see him across the room. Always was - I just kept him safe for you.
"We're all a bunch of goddamned heroes." - Stryker
"You be safe out there, Gabriel. You hear me?" "Yeah, I hear you. I think I finally fucking hear you," Gabe whispered in his ear. "When I finish, I'm going to fuck you into the mattress."["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more

It feels like I've been waiting to read Chase's story since forever, and well, I have. I fell in love with his character in Tegan's book and have seen him go from a highly respected member breed society to an Order warrior, to well... it hurts to think where he's gone lately.
But I think this was always the frame of mind he was supposed to be in, not the too far gone, but the bit reckless and out of control. He was always a rebel at heart and just needed that side of himself to come out.
This book picks up where Deeper Than Midnight left off. Chase is the prime suspect the human police have on a murder attempt on a politician as well as some terrorist attacks around town. The Order has been forced to relocate and Chase, he has one mission in his mind before he "finishes" himself. He wants to destroy Dragos.
Caught in the crossfire here is Tavia Fairchild. First of all, let me just say she might be one of my favorite heroines of this series. And you're in for a surprise with her character! A Big One! She is truly the perfect match for Chase and through his attraction to her she's able to bring him down from the ledge just enough for him to see a future.
As a couple, they were great together. The romance and the heat were excellent. But that's not all this book has to offer. Dragos is still present and causing havoc. There were even times in this book when I thought "How can everything be going his way?". But in the end, the story was full of action, it grabs you from the first page and doesn't stop until the end. What a ride!!!
And I can't leave aside the little ones. I love Mira and Nathan and Kellan and I'd love to see their characters developed more. Maybe even get books? Also there are new developments with most of the couples, which was very nice to see.
If you are a fan of this series, you have to read this book NOW! If you haven't started it yet, what are you waiting for? A bit dark, and not always roses, this series and characters are captivating!! Great job Ms. Adrian!! I can't wait for more!

This is a good, solid paranormal romance but I'm not sure if my feelings toward this book are from the expectations or that it was just ok. Don't get me wrong, I do like the story, I like the world, and I LOVE DRAGOS.
Yeah, let's talk about Dragos. He's basically head honcho, all power, charisma, and GC sex appeal. And he's also a dragon! And what a smoking hot dragon he is. Verra verra talented that one. *fans self*
All the elder races politics, and all the different races in this story, make it a very interesting read. Pia's powers are cool, and the plot in this book was really good. At times it reminded me a bit of the Guild Hunter series by Nalini Singh.
However, and please don't throw things at me... I didn't like Pia. Well, I liked her but I couldn't stand her 80% of the time. She kinda ruined the story for me. Her personality was just annoying! Just a personal opinion.
I am looking forward to Tiago's story. He was such a brooding alpha male character in the little bit we saw of him in this book, and Tricks is just plain crazy! I really liked her! Can't wait to read it!...more

Aisling is such a fun heroine. She reminds me a bit of Stephanie Plum. She's kinda clueless at the beginning, gets sucked into a paranormal world she had no idea existed, and she had always been a part of.
I enjoyed the storyline a lot, it was very different. And for someone not used to reading books about dragons, I loved this one. It may have something to do with the extremely delicious green dragon Drake. He is sexy!
But, the book wouldn't be the same without Aisling's sidekick. A demon she summons, better known as Jim! I LOVE JIM! I want my own Jim, and I want a book of Jim quotes!
This book had me laughing out loud literally so many times people were giving me weird looks and probably thought I had mental issues.
Excellent start and I'll be reading the next book soon! Can't wait!...more

He's a, a good time cowboy casanova leaning up against the record machine.... Oh sorry got distracted. But he IS a good time bad boy cowboy casanova leaning up against the bar looking sexy. *sigh* Ben McKay the things you do to me! First order of business, make sure you have the following things with you or handy before and while reading this book:
* A few changes of panties * Your favorite BOB or significant other * A glass of cold water, or an ice pack will do too.
Why, you ask? Because this book is HAWT! Ben McKay is such a naughty, naughty boy. Ms James has combined two of my favorite things, a hot cowboy and an alpha Dom. He just makes me purr. Whether it's tied to a bench, to the bed, to the bar or even a pool table.
Ben has always been the quiet one, but what we never got to see before was how out of place he felt in his own family. Finding his sexual preferences and staying true to that has really made him feel whole and it's not something he would ever give up.
Then he meets Ainsley at the Rawhide Club. She's pretending to be a female Dom so he makes her an offer: he'll be her sub for one night if he can Dom her for another night. Is that making you tingle yet?
But what a small world, Ainsley turns out to be the president of a new bank coming into Sundance, and Ben just happens to run into her and they make another deal. She'll be his sub for a month to try out the lifestyle.
What starts out as a fun experiment for both turns into deeper feelings. And whether they are sneaking around or being open about how they feel, these two have undeniable chemistry! Bennett can get to a part of Ainsley that she didn't think she had in her. And she gives him everything he thought he could never hope to have in a woman.
We see a little of the McKay clan but just in a small part. And I have to bring up the elephant in the room: The McKays can be money hungry asswipes sometimes, so I'm a bit disappointed with the turn of events in this book about a certain McKay. I hope in the next book he'll redeem himself in my eyes.
Gavin is also starting to be part of the family just a bit, and I really can't wait to read his story. And will he ask Ben for some love advice?
So read it, enjoy it, savor it. We won't get another rough ride for a while but this one was amazing!

I LOVED THIS BOOK! Wonderful debut by Amy Plum and the Revenants series. I felt completely transported into an elegant european world, filled with art, corner cafes where to read and enjoy a cappuccino and a croissant, while mixing in a very interesting group of undead characters!
Kate and her sister Georgia have to move from Brooklyn to Paris with their grandparents after the deaths of both their parents. Kate is only sixteen and finds the only way to cope with the tragedy and the move is to frequent the places she grew loving and visiting in their summer trips. Cafes where she can lose herself in a good book, art museums and galleries where she can get lost in a painting. And it's precisely at one of those places she meets a boy that takes her breath away. Vincent, dark, gorgeous, 19 year old. Or is he?
I think Kate is a wonderful character. She's a typical teenager dealing with all the normal issues. Then she meets Vincent and her whole world is turned upside down as she is dragged into a world she had no idea existed.
The Revenants are, in a way, undead or zombies?, but not really. They were humans who died in place of someone else, and from then, they have been dying to save others. I loved that concept! And when finding all this out I actually liked the fact that Kate doesn't throw caution to the wind right away to be with him. She wants to have a normal life.
Of course there's always a battle between good and evil which was pretty interesting. Even though the bad guy at the end was almost predictable, I still found the whole thing interesting and the twists we find out of what Vincent and Kate CAN be together are nice. And speaking of nice, what he did for her birthday.... SWOON.
The supporting characters are all endearing as well. Jules, Charlotte and Ambrose in particular. I actually liked her sister Georgia as well. You could tell she loved her sister even though she was dealing with their problems in a non-conventional way.
And now the few things I didn't totally love, just to keep it fair. I thought the grandparents had no control over what these two girls were doing. How can that be possible? You have 2 teenagers coming and going whenever they please, and doing as they like. Not good. And as I've seen a reference before to a similarity to Twilight, I will address that as well. The ONLY similarity this story can have with Twilight is that maybe the structure of the Revenants was a bit like the Cullen family. There's the elder that rules the crazy "teenagers", the lonely soul girl "Charlotte" which could be like Alice; the big, tough, flirty one "Ambrose" who could be an Emmett; Vincent obviously being Edward; I can't put my finger on Jules though, LOL. But that's as far as it goes. This book really is nothing like Twilight. So there, I just wanted to clarify.
And now... do I really have to wait until next year to read the next one??? ...more
I don't know if I'm a little biased here or not, but I admit I've loved this series from the beginning. Granted, I've had my ups and downs with it because I wasn't always a fan of what Rachel was doing or how she was acting. But she was always real and something about her carries this series forward always with growth.
A few books back, PALE DEMON blew my socks off and became my new favorite in the series. Especially after we had a few of not 100% awesome books in the series and I was starting to loose the excitement. The previous book, A PERFECT BLOOD, was not my favorite but still was amazing. Then here comes EVER AFTER. *gasp* *shock* *faint* EVER AFTER is the best Hollows book E.V.E.R.!! 5++++ Stars!
I'm not even exaggerating! This is the best book in the series so far because Rachel is very comfortable in her own skin. She kicks ass, she shows her emotions and she takes care of business. I don't want to get into the details of what she has to do in this book to save the demons and the Ever After, but lets just say that Rachel was top bitch on all counts.
Then there's Trent. I have to recommend that you read the bonus story in A PERFECT BLOOD, written from Trent's POV. I found that reading this story affected how I saw things that Trent did and said during EVER AFTER. You can read the short story online by clicking here and then select the first Teaser Chapter link on the left. That being said.... I feel in love with Trent all over again. Yes, he caught my eye in DEAD WITCH WALKING because I have a thing for bad boys, but in EVER AFTER he is real. We get a never before seen glimpse at who he is really is, how he really acts, what he truly likes. And I think that the full on Trent effect did wonderful things to the butterflies in my stomach. The elf is amazing! And there is a lot of him.
For Trent and Rachel lovers...well, let me just say I was more than happy. I can't contain my excitement on this one. I think I had a grin for big chunks of this book because of how happy I was with where the developments were going. I love how well they work together, I think they make an amazing team. I'm excited to see them working together more in the future. Hopefully the team work will also bring them together. It worked well in this one.
The actual story in EVER AFTER is action packed and full of emotion. WOW! There will be tears, gasps, hearts beating fast and maybe even sobs. So much happens, so much goes wrong. An exciting ride all the way along because you don't really see any of it coming. Just when I thought for sure things would start looking up, they got worst. To the point that I wasn't sure there would be light at the end of the tunnel.
But Rachel and Trent's relationship wasn't the only one that we saw, even though it was the most predominant one in EVER AFTER. Rachel and Al had some pretty awesome moments, although I got the feeling that a good friendship was forming instead of any chemistry going on. Seeing a bit of Al's past and finding out, finally, why the demons hate the elves was pretty awesome. Al is always a focal point of this series and even when he's not part of the book as much, like in this one, he's still key to anything that goes on. Love him!
Then we have our lovable sidekicks. I am a huge Jenks fan, and I was beyond happy to see that he was starting to move on with his life. So much has changed for him throughout the series. Having a female by his side that fuzzes over him and takes care of him, it warmed my heart. And even dealing with his son and the hard choices he had to make. Jenks is THE man!
But another little guy that usually is more a sideline character for me, but I just LOVED in this book, was Bis. Bis put on his big boy pants and got the job done! And we get to meet his dad, and his dad is so proud of him. That whole storyline was perfect to fill in the details I needed to make Bis a must read character.
I can't tell you much more without giving you any spoilers. And I don't want to give you any. Except that I do have to complain about one thing... when is Nick going to die???? I am waiting with baited breath for his final hours. He deserves a slow painful death. Even though I thought I couldn't get to hate him more than I already did, after reading EVER AFTER, I want to reach across the pages and murder him myself. Evil, sneaky, slimy, piece of ......
Yes, this was a bit fangirlish, but I can't really say anything different after the awesomeness that was reading it. This book was amazing from beginning to end. I loved EVERYTHING about it! And after having read the ARC, I've already pre-ordered the audiobook, as well as a signed hardcover copy. Yes! It was that good!
"As long as Felix was here, Trent would be the epitome of Teflon - knowing nothing, seeing nothing, accomplishing nothing - boring, boring, boring. He was also ticked. I could tell by the faint rim of red on his ears. "I hope you and Rachel had a pleasant dinner."
"I should have called Ivy."
"That's dumber than Tink's dildo!"
"Down, I think," he whispered, and making a sharp nod, he turned away.
I thought of Al in his dream, looking nothing like this, more like an elegant bat. Broken? Perhaps, but I had put his butterfly back together with my blood. "I never liked the movie Titanic," I said, and he grunted, his gaze sharpening on me. "They both could have gotten on that damn door."
"I want..." he said, then hesitated, taking a breath of air and lifting his chin. "I want one pure thing in my life," he said loudly, his voice ringing in the red-tinted air. "I want one thing I can point to and say, 'That is good, and it's a part of me."
