Ladies, it's official! I am now a huge fan of the Alien Huntress series and I can actually say I like it better than Lords of the Underworld. *cue gasps*
I love the novelty of this paranormal world. There's aliens, of all types, and some sort of an alien invasion that the AIR agents are dealing with, by a particular alien species called Schon. They are sex aliens, basically succubi/incubi that need sex to survive, but when they have sex they infect the person with some sort of flesh eating, mortal disease. AIR has been fighting them since book 3, and now that the Schon Queen has finally arrived they have to stop her at any cost.
The usual suspects are here, mainly Mia from book 1, who has a bit more of a role in this investigation, Dallas, one of my crushes, the human who has alien abilities after drinking some of Kyrin's blood, Bride and Devyn, ohhhh Devyn, can I keep him? Like, maybe... tied to my bed and at my total mercy? Sorry got distracted. Where was I?
I was not familiar with the heroine, Ava, human, but apparently she's an AIR trainee, along with her best friend Noelle, human, Jaxon's cousin. These two are a riot! I love their friendship and their banter and I can't wait for Noelle's book next. The hero however, we met briefly in book 4. Gorgeous, tough, and brooding vampire Victor McKell. He has now been kicked out of the underworld where vampires live, and has to learn how to live topside. Except he wasn't expecting to mate Ava, a human of all people!
While figuring out a way to seduce her and keep her, McKell helps AIR in the investigation and hopefully aprehension of the Schon Queen. And he manages to turn a dog into a vampire. Yep, I've seen it all, a vampire-dog.
And let me go back to Dallas. Ahhh yes. Dallas has some sort of a connection to the Schon Queen, apart from his desire for her, which he can't seem to control. But will he be able to resist her? And will he be able to stop the events he forsees in his vision, which might ruin his friendship with Hector? Hector... sexy, tattoed, "special-hands/magic-fist" AIR agent, who has a crush on Noelle.
The only thing missing... I could've definitively used some more "sexy time" between Ava and McKell. Even though they had a lot of smoking hot almost moments, I can't give this book the hotness award!
If you haven't read the Alien Huntress series, START NOW! You don't know what you're missing. Even after a "rough-start" with book 1, these books DO get better as the series goes along. They're sexy, full of humor, with enough action and intrigue to keep you on your toes, a great supporting cast, drool-worthy heroes, VERY likeable heroines, and a fun take on aliens. READ THEM NOW!
"He came to me, so I don't have to wash a goddamn thing," she called, knowing Noelle was long gone. "Still talking," McKell shouted from the bedroom. "Still annoying me," she shouted back. - McKell and Ava
"So you weren't wanting the aid of another man?" "No." She could barely handle McKell. "Then I won't spank you." McKell... spanking her... Someone get this man a paddle. - McKell and Ava
"Your franctic call dragged me out of bed, and I'm thirsty. So. . . Dallas. Beer? Blink once if the answer's yes." - Hector
"One day, Dear John, you're going to wake up, and your penis is going to be resting on the pillow next to you. Not that you'd notice its absence, small as it is." - Noelle
"Be a good boy and fetch me another drink." "Darling, I can't. You know how jealous you get when every woman in the room watches my ass as I walk away from you. So, really, by refusing to help you, I'm doing you a favor." - Devyn and Bride

Lucerne is 600+ years old, and a bit of a grumpy old man. He's become a paranormal romance writer by writing the stories of his sister Luciana meeting and marrying Greg and his brother Etienne meeting and marrying Rachel. They are promoted as paranormal vampire stories, go figure!
He now has a new editor, Kate C Leever. He's never met her, but she's been writing to him to try to get him to do a promotional book signing tour, interviews, anything to promote his books. If he ever replies to her letters it's always along these lines: "Dear Ms. Leever, No. Lucerne Argeneau, Toronto, Canada."
After repeated attempts, Kate decides to fly from NY to Toronto and try to convince him in person. Her job my depend on getting him to do something.
I could tell this was going to be a fun book from the beginning when he's in the kitchen thinking to prepare tea and then get Kate to leave his house, and while he's drinking from his bag of blood with the refrigerator opened, Kate comes in, the bag rips, blood flies everywhere, he bangs his head, and she thinks he hurt himself. LOL Along these lines we keep getting memorable funny moments like: "Katie is trying to free his codpiece from the tablecloth, not him from his codpiece." or "You don't plan to go out and buy condoms, do you? You're naked!" and then he calls the front desk "Condoms, I need condoms" and ... "They have sizes?".
We don't get to see as much of the Argeneau family as usual. But we do get a glimpse of Etienne and Rachel's wedding. And at the wedding, when Kate finds the men outside by the car, they let her think that they were out smoking a "debbie" (they're all over 300+ years old, they don't know slang) instead of drinking blood.
Lucerne agrees, thanks to his mom misleading him, to attend the Romantic Times conference. This turns into a fun ordeal for Lucerne and Kate. He has to get over his grumpiness, and she takes the fact that he's a vampire very well (probably thanks to the books).
By the end of the story the make the cutest couple, and I just had so much fun reading their story. It never ceased to be entertaining. There wasn't much drama, action, or danger. Actually there was even less than in previous books. Just one random attempt to stake him. So I would classify this more as a humor contemporary paranormal romance. If you're into that and want a break from reading serious books, you'll enjoy this one!(less)

I don't think I can put into words how much I loved this book. I didn't want it to end. I'm sorry I had to make this a review with spoilers, I can't help it, it's the only way I can talk about it.
This was the perfect ending to a wonderful series. I've been very attached to this series, I've enjoyed every single twist and turn along the way.
Love. Intrigue. Politics. Action. Humor.
This book picks up right where the last book left off. I won't get into the details of what happens in the book. But here are my thoughts on the main aspects of the story.
I'll start by saying that even though I loved both Dimitri and Adrian, and sometimes I felt like I was on both "teams" I did want to see a Rose&Dimitri HEA. They were meant to be together. Now that being said...
Rose is one of my favorite heroines! She kicks ass, she's loyal to her friends and she's a damn good guardian. She battles with her feelings for Dimitri, thinking he can't love her anymore, while still trying to be with Adrian. I only had one issue with her, and that's how she handled the cheating. I was dying for her and Dimitri to finally get together, but when he said that he loved her but that he wasn't going to take a woman away from a man that he liked and respected, she should've ended things with Adrian and then come back to Dimitri. It took away from their big moment and reunion for me. And then when she didn't come clean to Adrian right away because she still needed his help, that was just wrong. The moment she jumps in front of Lisa to save her, I knew that was coming (obviously the book is called Last Sacrifice, so something like that had to happen), and I'm really happy that nobody healed her, but that she recovered on her own and that actually broke the bond and she is now alone in her own body! Her and Lisa deserved that going forward. They can both have their own lives.
Dimitri The Russian Guardian God! He is just so sexy! And now that he finally realizes that he can be with Rose, every moment they had together had me holding my breath and my heart beating fast. They were so romantic and emotional! These two totally deserved getting their happy ending. I loved the moment when he killed the strigoi and said to her "Your hair is so beautiful". And of course my favorite quote from the book when Rose says to Dimitri "But I was meant for you". I thought I was going to die! He finally lets lose a bit in this book, and is not as hard on following the rules.
Lisa Yes we saw that coming. Of course she was destined to be the Queen, and I'm glad she's grown into her own skin enough to actually pass all the tests on her own. She still has the support of Christian and still gets Rose as her guardian!
Adrian This was the only issue I had with the book. Yes, Adrian has issues. He has a lot of growing up to do, and Rose was the person he was leaning on for support (maybe too much). He was not Rose's equal, I see that. But he loved Rose and the fact that she cheated on him, didn't come tell him, and then he finds out because she's kissing Dimitri before going into a dangerous situation after Adrian came to her aid. Not cool at all. I still hope to see more of Adrian in the spinoff series, I love him! And I really want to see him happy. I want him to get past his issues and grow as a person, but the hurt that was inflicted on him in this book was unnecessary. I was actually happy to see Adrian's reaction to that whole situation because Rose had to see that her actions hurt him. After something like that there was no way things would be ok between them after. And when he confronted her she couldn't even articulate responses. She disrespected him in the worst way, and he had every right to treat her the way he did.
Jill I couldn't have been more shocked to find out she's Lisa's sister! My jaw dropped when she opened the door! I'm curious to see if the spinoff series has anything to do with her, since Victor Dashkov made a reference as to her being important/special. And she took the whole thing of finding out who her real father was and being Lisa's sister very well. I thought she would have more problems with that.
Tasha I didn't see that coming until they interviewed the Alchemyst. Once we rule out Daniella, I knew it was Tasha, and all the reasons fell into place.
I think that summarizes my main feelings for this book. It was amazing! Written perfectly, with so much intrigue, mystery, action, and yes romance. I wish it wasn't a young adult novel so we could've read more about what happened with Dimitri and Rose behind close doors, I'm sure that was amazing! ;)
I am looking forward to the spin-off series. I can't wait! I will keep reading anything that relates to this world.(less)

OK, so now that I got that out of the way... Kaderin is a valkyrie and she's been "cursed" with not being able to feel for a thousand years, since the death of her sisters, who were killed by a vampire. She is tough (as all valkyrie are), loves and lives for killing vampires and for the Hie (like the Amazing Race). That whole concept was new and interesting. Kaderin always enters (and wins) this race and this year is no different. Well, except for the fact that before it starts she hears of a vampire in a castle and goes there to slay him, but realizes that she can't. She is his Bride, and because of him, after so long, she starts to feel again. She in turn wakes him from years of misery.
Sebastian is Nikolai Wroth's brother. He was turned by Nikolai against his will and has hated being a vampire during his whole existence. He just wishes for final death. And Kaderin is the one supposed to bring it to him, which he is fine with, until he realizes she's His. The one for him. His Bride. And he will do anything to have her, protect her, cherish her, and live eternity with her.
While Kaderin has to compete in the Hie, Sebastian enters as well, with the intention of wining for her. The prize seems to be something she wants above all other things. A key to go back in time twice. He doesn't think it could work, and he doesn't know why she wants to get it, but he is determined to help her or win it for her. They have some competition, and some tough competition in the form of Bowen, the lykae who we met in the previous book, and who wants the key to go back in time and rescue his dead mate.
There a lot of action, intrigue, and some pretty amazing sexual tension and eventually, yes, sex. And even though Sebastian is not a virgin, he's not the most experienced in that department so it's up to Kaderin to teach him, which he learns quickly, and to be his first in many things.
Their relationship develops perfectly. It's not the "I'm in love" at first sight, their love develops from constantly being together, liking each other, their company, their support. Even though there were no major events in the overall world for this series, this was an excellent book and I'll be looking forward to reading the next one soon!(less)

Conall:n. Hot as hell, viking sexyness, half vampire half shifter. He has the best of all worlds wrapped up in one. (And me wrapped around his finger!)
Sinead:n. Total bad ass chick. Sex demon, full time assassin, and the cause of the Apocalypse! My favorite heroine in this series!
I LOVED THIS BOOK! Even more the second time around. There was plenty of action, emotions, romance, steamy scenes and world-changing events.
Sin Fever is killing the warg population, except it's only affecting turned wargs, a little known fact discovered by our hot resident demon doctor Eidolon, and they are trying to keep quiet about it so they don't start a war between born and turned wargs.
Con is torn between having to fulfill a role in the dhampire council and is assigned the role of guinea pig to find a cure for Sin Fever. His body might be creating certain defenses by drinking her blood. But how much more of it can he have before he becomes addicted? And being in close proximity with Sin might be bad for his health. He had a taste of her, body and blood, and now that's all he can think of! All he wants. And isn't it just so convenient that while they are alone together, and he has to protect her, even from her own assassins, he also has to satisfy her demon urges.
Sin and Con will rock your world! They will have you excited, mad, panting, moaning and crying! This was such an emotional ride, and I never wanted it to end!
I'm soooo sad this is the last book in this series, even though there's a spinoff series... I'll miss everyone at Underworld General and all my favorite people! WAR was introduced a bit in this book, and the setup for the next series was laid out, and it all just sounds intriguing. Of course, you have to hate Sin sometimes, she got both hotties! Con AND War! Not fair!!!
One of my favorite series!!!!! Loved this book, there was plenty of action, emotion, romance, steamy scenes, and as always, you get such a good view into everyone's point of view to really be able to get into the whole Demonica World. I'm soooo sad this is the last book in this series, even though there's a spinoff series... I'm guessing we won't get to see too much of Underworld General and all my favorite people!!!!! Please keep them in some way in the next books!!!!! I love Larissa Ione's writing style, the humor put into the dialog. This was the best book in the series! And I LOVED the previous ones!
"Kiss me again without my permission," she whispered against his lips, "and I'll gouge you and sell your balls to a Ruthenian specialty meat shop. Understood?" "You won't do that." He whispered back. "You'd miss them too much." "Men are always overestimating the worth of their genitals."
"Yeah, I need sex or I die. so stop with the obnoxious chaperon shit because I really don't want you anywhere nearby while I'm doing it. And I don't think you want that either." She gave them her sweetest smile. "And I know that the second you're gone, I'm going to ride Con until he begs for mercy."(less)

He's arrogant, self-centered, selfish, powerful, driven, egotistical, ruthless. He wouldn't stop at anything to get what he wants. His only fear is betrayal. Betrayal by the ones he cares about, which is why he stopped letting people close.
Ohh but how I've loved his badass self throughout this series and this book was off-the-charts amazing. Completely different than a lot of the books in this series, this author never ceases to amaze me. She can create a completely different story every single time.
He's known his bride was Elizabeth since she was nothing but a human teenager. A mountain redneck human teenager, with no class and very little education at that. He never thought he could be paired with one such as her. Until Saroya possesses Ellie's body. That must be his bride. Fit to rule alongside him when he recovers his kingdoms! To free Saroya, he must destroy Ellie's soul. But he can't do that without La Doradas' ring. RRIIINNNNGGGGGGGG
I'm not telling you what happens, all I want to say is this: Lothaire is one bad, ruthless vampire, but he will make your body shudder and your girly bits quiver! He is so sexy! So in charge and in control! Ellie is very sweet and maybe just the right personality for him, and definitely the right species to bring him down a notch.
They've both been through so much but there were times when my heart would break for Lothaire, what he has suffered, why he is the way he is. And the moment he realizes that others have tried to help him and have been there for him is priceless.
And how can we forget the valkyries, crazy as always, love them. Best of all Nix. She has her lucid moments and her crazy ones, but when the haze in her head has to clear she manages to show us a bit more of her true self in this book. And all the new characters? Ohh the possibilities!
And the last thing I just have to say... if you've never listened to an audiobook, do yourself a favor and get this one. Robert Petkoff brings Lothaire to life, with a perfect and very sexy accent, and enough emotion in telling this story that I felt I was actually watching it play out in front of me.
In case all that was too much to decipher: I.L.O.V.E.D.T.H.I.S.B.O.O.K.(less)

WOW! I think this book was even more emotional the second time around, and of course I noticed even more things!!
I still love JM and Xhex. They are my favorite couple, and this is my favorite book so far. We've followed their story for so long, and it was just as emotional. The first time I read this book I was in an emotional cloud for a few days.
There's too many unbelievable moments, and quotes. But to summarize, the chemistry between John and Xhex is there, you feel it, physically, emotionally, it pulls you in, and tears you up, brings you up and down.
Blay and Qhuinn... heartbreak. My heart was literally breaking. I know there's no quick resolution to this, but I'll suffer through every second of it. They are so perfect together.
I enjoyed Tohr this time around more. I paid more attention to his interactions with No'One throughout the book, and at the end. One of my favorite quotes comes from him when he finally goes back home to get the gown for Xhex.
And at the end... Zsadist singing "All I Want Is You" by U2, because that's what John asked him for. I had tears in my eyes.
I was waiting for JM & Xhex seems like forever!!!!!! I was so excited to read this I got through the whole audiobook (over 20 hours) in about a day and a half. Yes, I didn't get much sleep, or work done, or anything! This was my favorite book in the series so far, by far! The story was great, there was action, a lot of feelings, it had me crying more than once, and of course the sex, chemistry and relationship between them was great! great! great! Now, on the side stories.... Blay and Qhuinn!!!! OMG!!! Please let them have a book!!!!! I got so excited when Qhuinn got jealous! Can't wait for the next one.(less)

Oh Garreth please throw me over your big strong lykae shoulders and take me away... to a cave... preferrably with a not-so-steady-rock we can break together!
I knew when I read Lachlain's book that I would LOVE Garreth, and it's official now. GARRETH IS MY LYKAE! He's just raw power and sensuality, with the perfect mix of emotions. He cares deeply for his mate who has given him nothing but heartache and, in more than one occassion, physical pain. And he still wants her, has crossed the world and faced all kinds of obstacles to get to her and have her! His determination is admirable, his curiosity is endearing, he's charming and hot and understanding, and.... did I already mention how perfect he is??? You just want to pet him!!!!
She'd been born for him. And I was born to find her.
Lucia is amazing as well. After having gone through a very traumatic experience while still being a child, she has lived milleniums after pretty much repressed and alone and in fear. Except for the past year she's actually wanted something... or more accurately, someone. Garreth. She can't get him out of her mind, even though she knows she can't have him.
And then Nix comes in and throws the whole story up in the air and as always by making a mess of things she manages to get these two finally together.
I loved the text messaging between Regin and Lucia. I loved Nix's phone conversations and reference to her missing post-it notes! There was also quite a bit of action in this book, some giant caimans, a ghost ship in the Amazon, and lots of hot.wet.half-naked lykae! The next book has been set up really well. We get glimpses of all the kidnapping going on in the Lore, and I have to say... I can't wait to read about Carrow! Love her already!
"Understand me, MacRieve, I'm a Valkyrie. I'm not bound by your... animalistic needs." His voice a low rasp, he said, "After one night with me, Lousha, you will be."
"RegRad: gettng tranqued 2nite with the witches. Bet u wish u were here! LOSER!"
"Fine. We can act like we're fuckups idling about. As per our usual. But if we cap a god, I'm telling everyone I know! Two words: Press. Conference." "Lykae in our backyard. Horde vampires seeking out valkyries all over the world. Happy accession!"(less)

As expected, I loved seeing Sabina in the mage environment, but even there, she's not free of the politics of every race.
Her twin sister Maisie is adorable, her personality is the polar opposite of Sabina! Adam is still very sexy in this book, and even though we get to see more of him, it wasn't enough, since he was gone for quite a bit of it.
We also meet Adam's aunt, Rhea, who teaches Sabina about her mage abilities. And The Shade, who ends up being Sabina's old co-worker and ex-lover, and even though I don't think she should end up with him, he did provide for some hot entertainment.
Gighul is still my favorite character!!! He's adorable! And I'm so happy he finally gets to meet his own demoness! Even though she seems a bit Pamela Anderson to my taste.
The plot has evolved into a complicated almost-war, and Sabina has set to destroy her grandmother Lavinia! Die! Die! Die!

One of my favorite books in this series. Rehv and Ehlena are such a sweet couple. I knew from the moment that Rehv was attracted to Marissa that he would end up with a female like that, not too rough and aggressive, but of a good family, with a back bone, but sweet and caring.
Rehv has always, and does now as well, put everyone else first. He basically gives up his chance at happiness to protect everyone around him and not cause the ones he loves pain. He takes care of the threats against Wrath, he takes care of his sister, deals with the loss of his mother, and after knowing what he has to do, he still manage to leave everyone he loves set to continue on without him.
Ehlena fights for him, and to get him back. She deals with her issues with who he is and what he does. She has always been a strong person, even while dealing with her past and her father. The betrayal from the Glymera. I was glad when Saxton came knocking and solved her problems!
The side stories.... Ohhh boy... JM and Xhex, it gets good, and then it all crashes, badly, they took me on a sad and then sadder rollercoaster ride, and I know it's not over yet. I hate Lash as always, he's a little shit and deserves what's coming to him. Mr. D is actually one of my favorite lessers, even though Lash treats him like crap, he doesn't seem that evil! Wrath fighting with Payne... classic! George, the blonde golden retriever.. LOVE HIM!
I cannot wait to re-read JM's book! OMG OMG OMG!(less)

Why didn't anyone tell me sooner how much I was going to fall in love with Malkom, that sexy ass vemon, dampire, or whatever you want to call him?!?!!
I'm completely head over heels in love. He is by far my favorite IAD hero, he takes the #1 spot for vampire, the #1 spot for demon, and hell, he can put any lykae to shame!
He's like a child in a way, not knowing Carrow's language, and then not knowing anything about her world and her ways. He's so careful and tender with her. He just cherises her and treats her with so much love... I... have no words. HE IS PERFECT! Vemon, please come home with me!!!!
And lets not forget Carrow. She is a kick ass heroine. I loved her. She is risking herself, her future, her love, to protect and save a little girl that is not even hers!
The storyline was great, plenty of action, lots of bad guys, lots of tenderness and romance. I did miss Nyx! She was hardly in the book. What happened to her? And why was she on the island but didn't help? I have lots of questions!
We also get small glimpses of what's going on with Regin and Chase, and let me tell you, I am not really looking forward to reading that! He's treating her terribly! How could I come to care for him when he's starting out as scum at the moment?
Lanthe and Thronos? I need to know more! I'm totally intrigued.
I'll be moving on to Regin's book soon, though. So I'm excited to read about her. I'm sure she'll keep it interesting.
Carrow had nicknamed her Glitch, short for glass witch.
"I should name you Wilson, the volleyball. You understand as much as Wilson did and respond as infrequently. What's that?" She cupped her ear as if the demon had spoken. "No, no you're right. Wilson was more hygienic."(less)

I fell in love with Bowe in A Hunger Like No Other and since then I've wanted him to get his happy ending. I will admit that when we heard others speaking about his dead mate she didn't sound lije the best match for him.
Well this book did not disappoint! It was full of twists and turns, emotion, humor and more great characters!! It picks up where the last one left off and Bowe has to go rescue Mari from the cave he trapped her in so she can lift his curse or he'll die.
As all good, sexy lykae he has a very caveman attitude (yes, he does throw her over his shoulder to a cave to.have his wicked way with her, yum!) But we also get to see a side of him that's been hurting for centuries thinking he lost his mate and he could never have that again.
Mari is an amazing heroine, she's kick ass!! I still love the valkyrie but the witches are so much fun!! She's fun, she doesn't take any *** from anyone and she knows what she wants.
I was pleasantly surprised with the turn of events. I kept wondering is she or isnt she and the resolution at the end was unexpected. Job well done Ms Cole!
Bowe had his "jerk, I'm going to bash his skull to the wall!" moments but Mari always gave it right back! And his lack of judgement was always short lived so I forgive him. He's still my favorite lykae so far.(less)

I Love Butch!!! I have since the first time I read Dark Lover and I still do. There's just something about the rough-around-the-edges human that I can't resist!
He's been in love with Marissa from the beginning, and he's wanted to play more of a role in the battle the brothers fight night in and night out, and this book gives him the chance.
I love the relationship building between Butch and Marissa, as well as the deepening of caring between Butch and V. They will always be forever tied to each other as it was destined to be!
As much of a hard ass as Butch is, he is so sweet and soft to Marissa because he knows that's what she needs.
Favorite scenes: - When V is watching Marissa and Butch in the hospital bed. - When Butch finds out that Rehv was the one feeding Marissa and jumps him. - V taking Butch to the hospital and being torn inside because they don't know if he'll survive.
On a side note, I keep hating Havers more and more. First the thing with Wrath, then what he tried to do to Marissa. Why can't he just mind his own business!!!(less)

He is one the sweetest guys, but also the most hard-ass and scariest warrior out there.
Bella is the perfect balance for him. We see that she can handle him in Lover Eternal even though he had a hard time coming to terms with that. Then she gets kidnapped by David, I hated his sickening obsession with her, and with his ex-girlfriend who he used to beat! Eeek!
One of my favorite moments was Z in Bella's house, laying on her bed, touching her diary, even though he couldn't read it, wearing her necklace. Then his first kiss, which Bella realized she gave him. He was always so tender and careful with her!
Of course Bella is the only female we are seeing go through the "needing". And boy did it affect all the warriors in the house! And Z had to step up to the plate ;) No complains there from me!
I have to comment on how difficult it was to go through Wellsie for a second time... I almost want to skip that part, but I didn't. And it was very sad all over again. Feeling the pain in Thor, and then in JM.
This was a very emotional book from all stories. We can't forget Phury falling in love with Bella as well. And bonding with her in his own way. Wanting her and knowing she wanted his twin. And then realizing she was pregnant with his brothers child and sacrificing himself to the lesser so that Z would have a chance to his life with Bella and their young. Very tender!(less)
