I wanted to re-read Shelly's books because I enjoy them THAT much. They have a lot of humor, fun and likeable heroines, sexy heroes, and good storylines. The world building is great too... Can I just move in??? I want my own SL shifter!!!!
I liked Sara and Zach ok. They're not by far my favorite SL couple, but their banter is fun, even though I think she turns into Alpha-Bitch-From-Hell after. Zach is HOT! Too Hot!!! LOL Sara is very strong and independent. Their romance was not extremely developed, it just sort of sizzled right away.
I loved Miki and Conall however, and I can't wait to re-read their story! Miki was just all sorts of mortified by him in this book, and Conall, aka The Stalker, was like a big teddy bear. I just want to cuddle!
I can't believe how much I didn't really care for Angelina's personality in this book! I still can't wait to read her book again.
If you haven't read this book, read it, it's fun, it's sexy, it's quick! It'll leave you wanting more!...more

I had to stop reading it because when people would ask me things about the series things were blending in from what had really happened, so I deidn't finish it last year.
Now, in preparation for Lover Unleashed, I had to finish it. The author of this story did an amazing job. It's written in a very J.R. Ward style. Very good job.
The actual story is pretty hot, and it makes me even want to get the Qhuay HEA sooner rather than later. Even though I know we'll have to wait for it.

Sinead:n. Total bad ass chick. Sex demon, full time assassin, and the cause of the Apocalypse! My favorite heroine in this series!
I LOVED THIS BOOK! Even more the second time around. There was plenty of action, emotions, romance, steamy scenes and world-changing events.
Sin Fever is killing the warg population, except it's only affecting turned wargs, a little known fact discovered by our hot resident demon doctor Eidolon, and they are trying to keep quiet about it so they don't start a war between born and turned wargs.
Con is torn between having to fulfill a role in the dhampire council and is assigned the role of guinea pig to find a cure for Sin Fever. His body might be creating certain defenses by drinking her blood. But how much more of it can he have before he becomes addicted? And being in close proximity with Sin might be bad for his health. He had a taste of her, body and blood, and now that's all he can think of! All he wants. And isn't it just so convenient that while they are alone together, and he has to protect her, even from her own assassins, he also has to satisfy her demon urges.
Sin and Con will rock your world! They will have you excited, mad, panting, moaning and crying! This was such an emotional ride, and I never wanted it to end!
I'm soooo sad this is the last book in this series, even though there's a spinoff series... I'll miss everyone at Underworld General and all my favorite people! WAR was introduced a bit in this book, and the setup for the next series was laid out, and it all just sounds intriguing. Of course, you have to hate Sin sometimes, she got both hotties! Con AND War! Not fair!!!
One of my favorite series!!!!! Loved this book, there was plenty of action, emotion, romance, steamy scenes, and as always, you get such a good view into everyone's point of view to really be able to get into the whole Demonica World. I'm soooo sad this is the last book in this series, even though there's a spinoff series... I'm guessing we won't get to see too much of Underworld General and all my favorite people!!!!! Please keep them in some way in the next books!!!!! I love Larissa Ione's writing style, the humor put into the dialog. This was the best book in the series! And I LOVED the previous ones!
"Kiss me again without my permission," she whispered against his lips, "and I'll gouge you and sell your balls to a Ruthenian specialty meat shop. Understood?" "You won't do that." He whispered back. "You'd miss them too much." "Men are always overestimating the worth of their genitals."
"Yeah, I need sex or I die. so stop with the obnoxious chaperon shit because I really don't want you anywhere nearby while I'm doing it. And I don't think you want that either." She gave them her sweetest smile. "And I know that the second you're gone, I'm going to ride Con until he begs for mercy."...more

5++ Stars - I LOVE THIS BOOK!!!!
WOW! I think this book was even more emotional the second time around, and of course I noticed even more things!!
I still love JM and Xhex. They are my favorite couple, and this is my favorite book so far. We've followed their story for so long, and it was just as emotional. The first time I read this book I was in an emotional cloud for a few days.
There's too many unbelievable moments, and quotes. But to summarize, the chemistry between John and Xhex is there, you feel it, physically, emotionally, it pulls you in, and tears you up, brings you up and down.
Blay and Qhuinn... heartbreak. My heart was literally breaking. I know there's no quick resolution to this, but I'll suffer through every second of it. They are so perfect together.
I enjoyed Tohr this time around more. I paid more attention to his interactions with No'One throughout the book, and at the end. One of my favorite quotes comes from him when he finally goes back home to get the gown for Xhex.
And at the end... Zsadist singing "All I Want Is You" by U2, because that's what John asked him for. I had tears in my eyes.
I was waiting for JM & Xhex seems like forever!!!!!! I was so excited to read this I got through the whole audiobook (over 20 hours) in about a day and a half. Yes, I didn't get much sleep, or work done, or anything! This was my favorite book in the series so far, by far! The story was great, there was action, a lot of feelings, it had me crying more than once, and of course the sex, chemistry and relationship between them was great! great! great! Now, on the side stories.... Blay and Qhuinn!!!! OMG!!! Please let them have a book!!!!! I got so excited when Qhuinn got jealous! Can't wait for the next one....more

Ahhhh My absolute favorite Sem brother! Lore is all tattooed and pierced and dangerous, and just sooo yummy!
The little bit we saw of him in the previous book led us to believe he was an assassin, but forced into that situation, somewhat of a slave to his Master, and in big part he's done this for his sister Sin.
After trying to make small attempts to connect with his Sem brothers, he is now put in a really bad spot. He's been assigned to kill Kynan. Except Kynan now has a sort of a guardian angel, the beautiful Idess.
But when Idess is then assigned as Lore's guardian as well, it can become a pretty difficult situation... which is why she has the bright idea of tying him to the bed! ;) What? Can't blame me if I think the girl has wonderful ideas!
While trying to protect both Kynan and Lore, she has a werewolf to protect as well, and that was Sin's target. Except Sin is almost successful with her kill, but by doing that she's unknowingly infected pretty much the whole species!
Lore is hot, Idess is one of my favorites in this series, I love the sweet names he calls her all the time (Cookie, Angel Cake, LOL) the Sem brothers are still around and fighting evil, the storyline is great, with constant new developments, and the next book was setup wonderfully.
"This remains between us, right?" "As long as you don't piss me off. You gonna piss me off?" "Every chance I get."

One of my favorite books in this series. Rehv and Ehlena are such a sweet couple. I knew from the moment that Rehv was attracted to Marissa that he would end up with a female like that, not too rough and aggressive, but of a good family, with a back bone, but sweet and caring.
Rehv has always, and does now as well, put everyone else first. He basically gives up his chance at happiness to protect everyone around him and not cause the ones he loves pain. He takes care of the threats against Wrath, he takes care of his sister, deals with the loss of his mother, and after knowing what he has to do, he still manage to leave everyone he loves set to continue on without him.
Ehlena fights for him, and to get him back. She deals with her issues with who he is and what he does. She has always been a strong person, even while dealing with her past and her father. The betrayal from the Glymera. I was glad when Saxton came knocking and solved her problems!
The side stories.... Ohhh boy... JM and Xhex, it gets good, and then it all crashes, badly, they took me on a sad and then sadder rollercoaster ride, and I know it's not over yet. I hate Lash as always, he's a little shit and deserves what's coming to him. Mr. D is actually one of my favorite lessers, even though Lash treats him like crap, he doesn't seem that evil! Wrath fighting with Payne... classic! George, the blonde golden retriever.. LOVE HIM!
I cannot wait to re-read JM's book! OMG OMG OMG!...more

Fragile: Handle With Care. This book is so hot it will have you panting and on fire!
This book is one of my favorites in this series. It just has it all. Starting with my favorite characters, Riley and Mercy. Seriously! To start with.... Riley is just perfect. Yes, he's had a rough past, dealing with the death of both his parents protecting the pack when he was nothing but a child, and then the abduction, torture and almost death of his sister. He's always taken up the responsibility, and the blame at times, for everybody elses lives. Always in control. Always focused. Always thinking. But when he puts all that focus, control and thoughts on one woman, she doesn't stand a chance. I was a puddle at his feet from the first page and that didn't change throughout the book. He is one hot, very dominant, amazing wolf RAWR. You can't help but want to have a tumble in the forest with him... or in the shower... or against the door... no need for a bed really. They are completely overrated.
And lets not leave Mercy behind! She is still to date one of my favorite females in this series, maybe even my favorite. She is a dominant leopard, who struggles with her own dominant tendencies, and who won't settle for anything less in a mate as well. She's completely loyal to her pack and to her family, and she's a damn good sentinel. No wilting flower, she doesn't need anyone to protect her. She can do that better than most males.
That's one thing Riley has to learn to overcome if things can work out between them. Family also has to stick their noses in their relationship, and Mercy's grandmother sends a couple of hot Brazilian male leopards from her pack to see if they could be Mercy's mate.
Now, I wouldn't mind having these two come back to the series and maybe even getting their own books. Eduardo and Joaquin were definitely good alpha male material, and in my opinion, the series does need an infusion of hot felines! And speaking of hot felines... I had completely forgotten about Mercy's brothers. So, how about giving them some books!!! Bastian, Grey and Sage have some potential! Maybe Bastian could be the next DarkRiver book, huh?
And lets not leave aside the storyline progression, action and drama in this book. The Psy are going crazy and the conflict is escalating. The Alliance is striking against changelings, against their own, and provoking a war. They are controlling other psy into some terrible acts. And behind all this psy-craziness, who could be the Ghost? I have my ideas, and I can't wait to find out.
The Kincaid family was, is, and probably will always be my favorite. Definitely the place you would want to be for family dinners, with all the alpha males, testosterone and just too damn hot men, and incredible women. They are the reason why I am TEAM SNOWDANCER.
Riley looked at his alpha. "Is that your pitch to women? Let's get naked?" He snorted. "No wonder your balls are blue." Hawke gave him a one-finger salute. "Go take care of your own balls."
"Don't pull any shit because you want to show off." "Wait a second." She looked down then back up. "Nope, I haven't grown a cock in the last few minutes. I have no need to prove whose is bigger."
"I have something for you." "Yeah? What? Is it shiny?" They both waited until Indigo had jogged away before resuming their conversation. "So," Riley asked, "what have you got for me?" Taking his hand, she placed it palm-down over her heart. It would hurt like a bitch, she thought, but he was hers to protect as much as she was his. "Me." And she opened up her soul, laid herself bare."
What can I say... I still love this series, I still love this book, and I still WANT SHADE!!!!

Could he be any more perfect?!?! He's all dark and sexy, but he's such a sweetheart! I think Runa is his perfect match, I love reading about them together, she's stands up to him, and complements his personality perfectly. And they're just HOT together!
Yes, my favorite scenes have to be in the cave, and then when he turns demon and does that thing with his tail! Very talented! ;) Ha!
The storyline is amazing too, there's a lot of action, deceipt, of course family is always the first one to turn their back on you, huh?
OMG, my favorite is the side story with Gem and Kynan! I forgot how much I love to read about these two!!!!! I really wish they would've gotten their own book, and I always find myself so excited to read their parts! In this book Kynan is still torn up about the death and lies of his ex-wife, and towards the end when he is starting to come around *fans self*.

The Viking! He is sweet, and nice, but also hot and all wolf ;)
The banter between these two is classic, they are hilarious! The action was also very good, these books always have a good storyline along with your smut and humor.
Miki is the smart one of the group, and Conall plays dumb a bit to tease her, but he finally gets her to come out of her shell. And then the fever hits... LOL
We still get to see Sara and Zach, and just a small glimpse of Angelina and Nikolai... Can't wait to re-read their book, it's my favorite. Sara has grown into her role as pack alpha female, and has a DOG! LMAO Her and Zach also got "fixed".
We also get our first view of the Van Holtz pack... Oh, I can't wait for the next Pride book to come out!!! (Big Bad Beast)...more
If there is a reason why you haven't picked up the Pride books yet, you have to put everything else aside and get them! If you didn't know about them, then let me introduce you to the sexiest shifters around!
This Pride book is all about fun! Mitch Shaw has a "nothing-bothers-me" playful attitude towards life, and Sissy Mae, even though crude and mean at times, is a fun chick!
And Mitch is one of my favorite felines in ALL shifter series! How adorable is he? We first met him for a little bit in the second story of book 1 (Shaw's Tail). We thought he was the good-for-nothing brother of successful Brendon Shaw, turns out he was a cop who had gone undercover to expose a mobster, and was now in the witness protection program! They need him alive to testify, the criminals want him dead. And lets not forget that he IS the karaoke king among the Kuznetzov Pack, to be worshiped at their altar. *snickers*
Mitch and Sissy are best buds, they've been working together at Mace & Smitty's security firm. Mitch is being his usual prankster self, and Sissy is her usual "just-a-tad-bitchy" she-wolf. This book begins while we are still at Jessie Ann & Smitty's wedding, and yes, Mitch and Sissy Mae are both still fighting their attraction to each other, because between good friends sex will only complicate things, and then there's the fact that Mitch knows after he testifies he will have to assume a new identity and disappear. But things take a turn for the worst when Mitch gets shot. Yes, someone is after him, wants him dead, and it just happens to be shifter. How can they protect Mitch?
Sissy takes it upon herself to "kidnap" him, taking him where she swore she would never return. Back home to Tennessee. Nobody knows he's there. And Sissy soon finds herself full of hot naked lion, in a town full of crazy wolves, and BOY he can eat!!!
Crazy, hysterical, extremely sexy and cute. This book will keep you entertained from page one, and you won't be able to put it down! Their banter had me almost in tears laughing. And some of the things that happen just... I have no words. Like when Mitch ends up wrestling with Ralph (the alligator), or when we meet cousin Dee Ann, or when they go to the grocery store because Mitch "ate her out of her house".
And as any good, honorable lion shifter, when this bad boy gets all hot and bothered, HE CAN DELIVER!
So what are you waiting for? You have to read this series! You have to read this author! It is guaranteed to get you out of any reading funk, improve your mood, and... make your insides quiver.
It is so difficult to pick a favorite quote, since most of this book is full of humor, but here's my best attempt:
Best description of Sissy Mae: To quote Janie Mae, "Sissy came out of my womb with her middle finger raised."
"Is that why they call you Mr. Fumble Paws?"
"Sexy, sexy," she growled at him before she could stop herself. "You treat me like a whore" "You are a whore" He grinned "This is true"...more
Mace Llewellyn, of the Llewellyn Pride, has had a crush on Desiree MacDermot, Bronx human girl, since they were teenagers and attended the same school. He was the geeky guy, she was the "ghetto" girl that sometimes didn't fit in with the rich crowd. But it's been so long since he's seen her, he's gone and become a NAVY SEAL, and now that he's retiring and has decided to settle back in New York, and open a "shifter security" business with his best friend Smitty, he has decided to find Dez and make her his. Even though that's not the way of the Pride. He was not expecting to find Dez had become a cop, and was investigating a shifter murder, and was now divorced.
Their relationship was not built up too much in the book, but you can tell they both have a history, and they both liked each other and were sort of reunited. Dez is hilarious at times, annoying at others, psychotic most of the time. However, she deals well with the whole supernatural world she's thrown into, and her chemistry with Mace was amazing. Maybe that has a lot to do with the fact that Mace was just really hot.
Again, Ms. Laurenston does a wonderful job at creating a good plot around their romance, with a hysterical group of characters... Can I just say how much I love Smitty and his southern drawl? She nails the personalities of the shifters, the cats, the wolves, it's hysterical.
There are also so many funny moments in this book, I loved how Dez's dogs were scared of him and would hide under the bed, the date at the Van Holtz restaurant, Dez dealing with Mace's sister.
This was not my favorite Laurenston story, but it's still, nonetheless, amazing.
"Do you mind if I ask you a question, darlin'?"
"Only if you stop calling me darlin'."
"Now, where I come from that's a term of endearment."
"Really? Well, where I come from motherfucker is a term of endearment. Want me to start calling you that?"
This story was GREAT! I LOVED IT! It continues where Christmas Pride left off, and Brendon Shaw had been injured. Ronnie-Lee Reed came to New York as part of the Smith Pack imports with Smitty. She's Smitty's sister best friend and the two of them have gotten in more trouble together than should be legal... well it wasn't legal in most of the countries they were in. Now she's assigned to babysit the recovering lion, but at the same time someone tries to kill him while at the hospital. Ronnie-Lee is then forced to hide him, and can only ask for her aunt's help.
Brendon is such a sweetheart, he's done his Pride job, and now he just wants that hot little wolf and he won't stop at anything to have her.
Now talk about hot, these two were smoking HOT together. Again we get some of the hottest paranormal erotica, with the best humor.
"Oh, look. The idiot of the jungle awakens."
One of my favorite parts was Brendon Shaw in lion form dancing in the neighbors front lawn and playing tug while Ronnie is trying to get him back home.
"You know what I do with gentlemen? I chew them up and spit them out and leave the remains for the hyenas."...more

I love the concept of this series. Just as the author describes it, it's a perfect combination between Buffy and ER. Except the slayers are after demons mostly, which there is a huge variety of.
In this book we meet Dr. Eidolon, and incubus, or sex demon, who is close to the age where all incubus demons go through the s'genesis. But he finds someone to help him go through that ;) Tayla who is a aegi slayer, and doesn't know she's half soul shredder demon.
I love the whole world at Underworld General, the staff is hilarious, and in the staff we also have Eidolon's brothers Shade *cue swoons* and Wraith. They're all his brothers but by different mothers, so they're all half something else. The portals, the werewolves, the fights, the aegi deceptions. This whole story is captivating and original.

Even though thThis review is only for Miss Cogeniality I've read that short story twice, you'd think I'd eventually get to Cynthia Eden's story, right?
Even though this is Magnus Pack 4, it really takes place in the past. We met Irene Conridge and Niles Van Holtz in Go Fetch!, where they were already married, mated and had kids. But this is how it all started.
She was a bit like Miki in a way, except even more awkward around people, and I liked that Niles had been circling her for years, never making a move.
Niles doesn't believe that marking a female will make her his forever, and he won't be able to be with other females. Boy is he in for a surprise! He offers to mark her to save her life and shortly thereafter discovers that he can't be without her. As all Van Holtz (if you read her Pride series, you know more of the men in that family) he's pushy, he thinks he should always get his way. I love that his pictures keep showing up in her house, at the university, so cute. He's also patient with her. And he's HAWT! Oh, is he hot!
This was fun, easy, quick read, very enjoyable and had me laughing.
I also like that it sets the stage in a way for anyone starting to read the Pride series. However, I would love to see this series continue!!!...more
Smitty! Ohh Smitty! I'll start this review by staking my claim on Smitty, he is still my favoritThis review was posted at Under The Covers
Smitty! Ohh Smitty! I'll start this review by staking my claim on Smitty, he is still my favorite wolf in this series! So, everyone, gets your paws off of him.
We first meet Smitty in The Mane Event. In the first story he was just that hot military type, laid back, gorgeous guy with the sexy southern drawl, who just moved and talked smooth and slow. He is also Mace's best buddy and together they've opened up a shifter security firm in New York. Smitty, of the Smith Pack from Tennessee, brought some of his Pack members to New York with him and is determined to make a better life for himself.
And all his plans come crashing down when they take a job, and while unbeknownst to Smitty, their client turns out to be the one girl he always had closest and dearest to his heart because she wasn't able to protect herself and is now a powerful and rich woman.
Of course his buddy Mace knew this, because he is good friends with Jessie Ann, now Alpha of the wild dog Kuztnezov Pack. Jessie Ann used to be the weird, geeky girl, abused by all the big Smith she-wolves, being the only wild dog in Smith territory in Tennessee, and Smitty was her protector until he joined the military. He had to. He knew if he started anything more with Jessie Ann then he would have no hope of ever getting out of that little town and doing anything more than breeding a bunch of little hybrid puppies.
But now she walks back in his life, and he can't believe SHE DOESN'T WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH HIM. I mean, he is Smitty, everybody loves him, everybody wants him. It's endearing to see him persist and try to get close to her and Jessie Ann and the wild dogs make him jump through hoops to get to her. Wild dogs and karaoke anyone???
Unlike the first book, this whole book is only about Smitty and Jessie Ann, so there's plenty of time for their relationship to develop, get crazy, get hot, get out of control, and then to rein it all in. Jessie Ann doesn't want a watered down Smith wolf, she wants all of him, but then again... who wouldn't? And when these two get together, the sparks are off the charts!!!! *fans self*
Ms. Laurenston does a wonderful job at keeping all the other characters still in the story, so it's always nice to get glimpses of them. As well as a whole new set of characters to look forward to seeing more of.
The humor in this book was excellent! The wild dogs are crazy, the Smith wolves are crazy, it's insane!!! It's entertaining, it had me literally laughing out loud. And just with enough intrigue to keep you on your toes.
And how cool was it that Jessie Ann and Smitty have a real castle wedding??? Well, I'm not sure real castle weddings involved the bride and groom having sex on the gardens in their wedding attire just minutes before walking down the isle, but that was a welcomed surprise. Even though she wears a vintage Renaissance dress, just because she's a bit of a geek, they get married at what I can only consider being Oheka Castle in Long Island.
And the wedding sets the pace for the next stories!!!! I am so excited!!! The next ones are going to be just as great!...more

Is it possible to love a book or the characters more the second time around? I don't usually re-read books but I felt the need to revisit this series in preparation for Lover Unleashed and I'm so glad I did.
I loved Wrath's character in this book. I had forgotten where he came from and who he is. I was just so used to seeing him as the King. But I loved the memories this brings back. Wrath, the Blind King, was a ruthless warrior, feared by everyone, loved and respected by his Brothers. He had a passion and hunger for life, and for Beth, even though at times that is not how he saw himself. But as a bonded male he couldn't help himself.
Beth is a strong female, going through the change and being half human. I had forgotten she could walk in the sun! She is totally in love with Wrath. She shows love to the rest of the Brothers too, as their Queen should. I think she handles Butch very well and she cares enough for him to want him around the Brotherhood.
Which brings me to Butch! I fell in love with his tortured soul all over again. He has been through so much in his life, gas hurt so much, and now finds a place where he can fit in, a group of people that will care for him and help him get through his issues. He cares for Marissa so much and wants so badly to do right by her, to be worthy of her. He is just amazing. His relationship with V starts developing and they are just so perfect together, aren't they?
There's plenty of action in this book, as well as some pretty hot scenes. I think I liked when Butch rips the arm off the chair. I was not too bother by the lesser narration in this book, it was short enough and it added to the storyline without dragging on too long.
Having already read the rest of the books, it was very sad to read about Thor and Wellsie. Their love, their relationship, their perfect interactions. It was all too much.
And as usual I think, how cool is Fritz? I just love the little old man. I want to pick him up and hug him. LOL
Darius appearance is sad as well and going through Beth learning about her father after he just died was sad.
J.R. Ward has written a very unique world and its very well done. Their personalities, the attention to details, their unique slang, I love all of it. I can't wait for LU to come out!!!...more

I can honestly say I enjoyed this book more than I did the first time I read it. It was still a difficult and emotional book to read, but it still fits perfectly in the BDB world, and it still deals with the issues that have been hanging around during the series.
I had completely forgotten about the Wizard! I still didn't like him. LOL I was very annoyed with Phury the first time I read this book, and now I feel bad for him, and what he's had to go through during his whole life. I feel he's always had the short end of the stick. First with being the brother left behind, then dealing with his father's addiction, then looking for his missing twin and finding him where he did, then sacrificing himself for said twin. His whole life has been about pleasing others, and the only way he found to deal was through drugs.
I wish we didn't have to see him fall so deep. And I wish we would've seen more of the romance developing between Cormia and Phury. By the end of the book I didn't really feel their connection. Yes, I felt it with Cormia, but not from Phury. I loved the time when she came out of the pool and JM, Blay and Qhuinn were drooling over her and Phury came and almost killed them, LOL The scene between Phury and Cormia in the theater where they get interrupted by the Directrix and a Chosen, heartbreaking.
The JM/Xhex drama goes on, I LOVE IT. My favorite parts are when Xhex gets in his head and sees that he's been fantasizing about her, and she says to him "Next time you think of me like that, say my name when you come. It'll get you off even better". But then later on JM gets drunk and she finds him in the bathroom, and he gets the balls to mouth to her "I want to fuck you" but then as she might be considering it, she gets a call from security and has to leave, but he writes on a napkin "Next time say my name, you'll come more".
Lash is an ass, I hate his guts. There's nothing else to say about him.
When Thor comes back, and ignores JM, my heart broke when JM thinks this: "In his mind, he had the conversation he wanted to have with Tohr: Qhuinn & Blay ended up here, Qhuinn's parents are dead, Lash is... I don't know what to say about him. There's a female I like, but she's out of my league, I'm in the war & I missed you & I want you to be proud of me & I'm scared & I miss Wellsie & are you all right? Most important, please say you're not leaving again. Ever. I need you"...more

I loved this book. Hollywood is such a tough guy, has been dealing with "The Beast" for almost a century, he can tear lessers apart without hardly any effort, he is... well, Hollywood gorgeous. But what he's always wanted is a true mate, someone he can share his life with. And then he meets Mary.
Mary is kind-hearted, with a bit low self esteem, and a human who has been through so much during her short life. Not just with her illness, but her mom's as well. Her life has not been easy. She's used to it, in some ways, and she doesn't expect any better. Which is why she can't believe that a guy like Hollywood would be interested in her.
But he is! Even though he shouldn't be, even though Thor prohibits him to keep seeing her, and orders him to wipe her memory. Even though he has to convince Bella to arrange meetings with her, maybe even against her will.
My only problem with this book was that it got a little bit mushy at times. Mary came across as a bit weak in some instances. The lessers had less to do in this book, so there was less action than in the previous book....more

Oh Z!!! You are the perfect tortured hero. You've been through so much and have so much that you have to heal from. What a complex character the author has given us here.
He is one the sweetest guys, but also the most hard-ass and scariest warrior out there.
Bella is the perfect balance for him. We see that she can handle him in Lover Eternal even though he had a hard time coming to terms with that. Then she gets kidnapped by David, I hated his sickening obsession with her, and with his ex-girlfriend who he used to beat! Eeek!
One of my favorite moments was Z in Bella's house, laying on her bed, touching her diary, even though he couldn't read it, wearing her necklace. Then his first kiss, which Bella realized she gave him. He was always so tender and careful with her!
Of course Bella is the only female we are seeing go through the "needing". And boy did it affect all the warriors in the house! And Z had to step up to the plate ;) No complains there from me!
I have to comment on how difficult it was to go through Wellsie for a second time... I almost want to skip that part, but I didn't. And it was very sad all over again. Feeling the pain in Thor, and then in JM.
This was a very emotional book from all stories. We can't forget Phury falling in love with Bella as well. And bonding with her in his own way. Wanting her and knowing she wanted his twin. And then realizing she was pregnant with his brothers child and sacrificing himself to the lesser so that Z would have a chance to his life with Bella and their young. Very tender!...more

OK, so now that I got that out of the way... Kaderin is a valkyrie and she's been "cursed" with not being able to feel for a thousand years, since the death of her sisters, who were killed by a vampire. She is tough (as all valkyrie are), loves and lives for killing vampires and for the Hie (like the Amazing Race). That whole concept was new and interesting. Kaderin always enters (and wins) this race and this year is no different. Well, except for the fact that before it starts she hears of a vampire in a castle and goes there to slay him, but realizes that she can't. She is his Bride, and because of him, after so long, she starts to feel again. She in turn wakes him from years of misery.
Sebastian is Nikolai Wroth's brother. He was turned by Nikolai against his will and has hated being a vampire during his whole existence. He just wishes for final death. And Kaderin is the one supposed to bring it to him, which he is fine with, until he realizes she's His. The one for him. His Bride. And he will do anything to have her, protect her, cherish her, and live eternity with her.
While Kaderin has to compete in the Hie, Sebastian enters as well, with the intention of wining for her. The prize seems to be something she wants above all other things. A key to go back in time twice. He doesn't think it could work, and he doesn't know why she wants to get it, but he is determined to help her or win it for her. They have some competition, and some tough competition in the form of Bowen, the lykae who we met in the previous book, and who wants the key to go back in time and rescue his dead mate.
There a lot of action, intrigue, and some pretty amazing sexual tension and eventually, yes, sex. And even though Sebastian is not a virgin, he's not the most experienced in that department so it's up to Kaderin to teach him, which he learns quickly, and to be his first in many things.
Their relationship develops perfectly. It's not the "I'm in love" at first sight, their love develops from constantly being together, liking each other, their company, their support. Even though there were no major events in the overall world for this series, this was an excellent book and I'll be looking forward to reading the next one soon!...more

V has been my favorite brother from the beginning of the series, and the first time I read this book, I was disappointed with it. I didn't think Jane was the right mate for V. The whole thing was a disaster!! Second time around, I like her a bit more since I've seen her in the book after this one and I've learned to like her.
That being said, I still think V should've ended up with a different girl!!! (Me, maybe?!?!)
V has to deal with his broken relationship with Butch, not broken, but not what he wanted them to be. He finds out who his mother is, and what she destined him to do. We get a lot of flashbacks to Vs past with his father, very hard and cruel.
JM goes through the change!!! YAY!!!! Favorite part about him?!?! When he's thinking about Xhex after Z told him to "make sure he has no problems with his plumbing after the change". Then he has to see her at the club and acts so nervous around her! He's so cute!!!
Favorite part about V and Jane... 2 words: BATHROOM SCENE! Oh.My.God!
We also get to meet Manny, I liked him the first time around, but I was paying more attention to his character this time, and I can't wait to read his book now, I can just tell he'll be a Brother, he ACTS like one!...more

I absolutely loved the world2011 Re-Read
There are no words to describe how sexy Lucas Hunter is. But he's not the only thing I loved about this book.
I absolutely loved the world of the changelings, psy and humans. Such an elaborate world, where the psy are not supposed to feel and are genetically modified to achieve this, through a protocol called Silence. Of course psy also have special powers, and are classified accordingly. Changelings on the other hand are shifters. And they are some of the best written shifters out there!
This book is full of romance, and at the same time it manages to build up a world and track such amazing storylines that draw you in and will keep you glued to the pages. Definetely one I couldn't put down.
Lucas Hunter is Alpha of the DarkRiver, and all his 6ft, dark hair to his shoulders and green eyes make him extremely edible! Even his scars add character. He is also a panther.
"I like something I can hold, touch and smell, something that pleases all my senses."
He has the difficult task to get information out of Sascha Duncan, cardinal psy, daughter of one of the most power psy who sits on their Council, and who is now assigned to work closely on a business project with him. Except Sascha is flawed, or so she thinks. She feels, she wants, and she has abilities she can't quite comprehend. And the more time she spends with Lucas, the more her defenses come down.
"Animal reproduction? That's one way of putting it. Have you ever tried it?" "No. Why would I?" "Because, darling, you might find that the animal in you likes it."
This book is full of intrigue, sexual tension, lots of flirting, lovable characters, characters you love to hate, psy/council politics and, surprisingly, not a lot of sex.
You have to give this series a try! You won't regret it. It's definetely worth reading more than once!

There are many reasons why I enjoy every book in this series, here are some of them: -There are cowboys….sorry stockmen. -They’re funny and sexy. -There’s a mix of Australians and Americans which makes for some really entertaining moments and some culture adjustment by the characters. -Did I mention the accent? And in MISPLACED HANDS, there’s TWO of them. Hawtness overload!
MISPLACED HANDS is the story of Andrew’s sister who goes to Australia and be a teacher for the amount of time she’s swapping houses. Once she gets there she finds not one but two sexy men drooling all over her and trying to catch her attention. Tomo and Blue (or Keith and Marc) work for the station we first got to know in book one and two in the series, but they are the actual working type cowboys….errrr stockmen. Poor Harper doesn’t know what hit her when they decide she’s the woman they want to share. The whole point of this trip for Harper was to experience life and she checks her inhibitions at the … edge of the water?
I found this book to be, as the others, extremely sexy. It had it’s funny and entertaining moments which again made this a very fast read. I would’ve liked to see more of Australia and the station, but the romance was done well.
I think Harper still has issues to get over and Keith and Marc might just be what she needs to overcome them.
I’m not sure where the series will go from here but if they keep writing them, I’ll keep reading them. And if you like cowboys and sexy men with accents who know how to please a woman, you should be reading them too! So start at the beginning!
