I cannot believe that there are no more Travises books after this one!!!! How is that possible? Please write more! You can't leave us hanging, what about Joe?!?!?!
Felt good to get that off my chest, now where do I start? Oh yeah... JACK! He.Is.Just.Not.Real! This man is the personification of every HOT thing I've always wanted in a man! He is so perfect he can't be real, this guy just cannot exist! He is successful on his own right, even though his family has money; he's the bad boy playboy because he is still looking for the one woman he can trust and spend the rest of his life with.
I could talk about Jack for hours it seems like, maybe it's his alpha/dominant/take charge attitude, or the fact that he would wake up in the middle of the night to see to a baby that's not even his because he wants you to sleep, or the fact that he would put you first before any business or other family. Maybe it has something to do with his hot body and the fact that he knows EXACTLY what to do with it to leave a woman completely satisfied. Did I mention this book is off the charts in the hotness scale? I was quite surprised by the amount of HOTTTT sex in this book, definitely the most I've read in a Kleypas novel. And I'm not complaining!!!
But enough about my newest obsession. I won't sit here and give you a summary of the book because, quite frankly, YOU HAVE TO READ IT, you don't know what you're missing! But I will tell you that aside from Jack being the most perfect thing in God's green earth :LMAO but seriously, he is: I thought the storyline was great, I was happy it wasn't as emotionally draining as Haven and Hardy's. And speaking of my second favorites, they had plenty of cameos in this book which was great!
Ella is a tough woman, she's gone and done something with her life, even after being brought up by a mother that really shouldn't be allowed near children (or adults for that matter). Yeah, she's a little messed up in the head, but deep inside she knows what she wants. And I'm just happy she got it and then some! Yes, I'm back to Jack... Jack is more than any woman could ever hope for. So what are you waiting for? READ THIS!...more

Where do I start!??! Maybe the hot cover? No that's a given. I should mention though that when I saw this book had quotes from some of my favorite authors (ie Shayla Black, Lorelei James and Jo Davis) I knew it had to be awesome. I mean, those ladies write amazing books, so if they something is that good then it has to be, right??
Well, this book delivered! Roni Loren can definitely write a great story with characters I cared for and was rooting for. Lets start with the fact that they were lovers in the past. They were in love and people got in the way of their happiness then. Fast forward ten years and their lives collide again and they have to help each other. The passion and the feelings all come rushing back.
I loved the "Then" and "Now" parts of the book. I love books that do that because it slowly builds up their present while you learn in small doses about what happened to them before. And what a story these two had.
First of all, rich boy, now lawyer, Reid Jamison is hot as sin! He also has skeletons in his closet, being the son of a rapist and a sadist. He had to fight with his desires for a BDSM relationship while trying not to become his father. Brynn was the girl to give him everything he wanted. He loved her, body, mind and soul. Until she left him, for reasons that we know find out.
Brynn also comes from a terrible background, her mother being an "easy" woman and that was a reputation she had to fight against while then raising her sister by herself. Being with Reid the way he wanted made her feel a bit like walking in her mothers' shoes, but it wasn't like that between them. Just maybe what others saw. And then came that one night that ruined their lives for years to come.
Now her sister ends up at a BDSM couples retreat getaway as a training submissive and Brynn has to go rescue her. Having to infiltrate that world again and having to submit to a stranger. Except that Reid has no plans of letting her do this alone and goes in as her Dom.
This book is hot but also emotional, with a great storyline! I can't wait to read the next one!!

You have no idea how happy I am that I don't have to start this review saying "I AM IN LOVE WITH A ZOMBIE" because if there's an author out there that can make me say that, that would be Gena Showalter. I have read most of her adult books, but this is my first YA book by her that I've read and I can just say one thing about that...I love how much of her fun personality come through in this book.
This was such a fun and original read because her zombies are not just regular zombies...And, oh yeah: "I AM IN LOVE WITH A ZOMBIE KILLER". I might feel like a bit of a cougar right now because I have the hots for Cole.
I was captivated and enthralled from the first line:
"Had anyone told me that my entire life would change course between one heartbeat and the next, I would have laughed."
Alice Bell has grown up thinking her dad was crazy and that all she wanted was a normal life. She always talked about the monsters in the night and they all had to stay in at night and learn self-defense. She resented that until the night both her parents and her little sister died...because they've gone out at night on her request.
She realized then the monsters were real and she didn't understand any of it until she found a group of kids at her new school that were already fighting them. Fighting helped her cope with her loss.
No sweet sixteen for Ali. Except some good came from all that. She met good friends, true friends. Kat is one in particular I want to fold in my pocket and carry around with me to take her out when I need a pick me up. She is so funny, so supportive and such a loyal friend. I <3 her!
Then there's Cole and the rest of his group of zombie killers. Cole and Ali share a special and unique connection, they are literally drawn to each other like moths and I was drawn right along with them.
Ali is strong and kick ass and everything I want a sixteen year old heroine to be. But she is still a normal teenager, wanting to have friends and be normal and crushing on a hot guy. She's got balls to confront people threatening her and not to be scared of her bad boy crush but embrace him and fight right along side him.
The story was great with a bit of a twist and a sad at the end. I absolutely cannot wait for the next book in this series. Congrats to Gena Showalter on another story very well written, totally captivating and originally HERS.
No way did I want to be known as Pinot Grigio. (That's what my my parents had called me anytime I'd gotten my whine on. They'd called Em Pinot Noir.)
Just when I thought I couldn’t love this woman more, here comes REAVER. I’ve been waiting for his book since I read LETHAL RIDER and I found out all
Just when I thought I couldn’t love this woman more, here comes REAVER. I’ve been waiting for his book since I read LETHAL RIDER and I found out all the little tidbits of information that left me craving his story. He’s come a long way from when we first met him, and although I always knew he would be sexy…. I didn’t expect to fall so hard for him. He is the perfect male. The one you want by your side, the one you take home to meet the parents. *sigh* I have officially inducted Reaver to the top of my book boyfriend list.
But wait, that’s not where my fascination with this book ends. I’m admittedly a fan of strong, tough heroines. Kick ass and maybe a little mean. They may bite a bit. Well, that’s Harvester. Knowing their backstory, and knowing how they’ve both come so far and changed so much through the centuries, was already heartbreaking. But seeing what Harvester has had to go through, what she’s willingly put herself through, was beautiful. She is truly tough with a heart of gold.
I don’t want to bore you with the many reasons why I loved both Harvester and Reaver, just know that they are two of the most awesome characters in this series! And they are perfect for each other. I was unprepared for the extent of it. REAVER does their story justice in every way. The slow build up, the step by step unveiling of memories, the past colliding with who they are now. I couldn’t have asked for Ms. Ione to do any better. This was perfect.
As I’ve come to expect from Ms. Ione, REAVER had a lot of action and slow burn sexual tension. The battles always get bigger and more dangerous and this was no exception. But my favorite part for sure was the fact that the characters stayed true to who they’ve become.
I was so consumed in this story while reading it that I could hardly think of anything else. I needed to see it all play out and see their HEA. So thank you Ms. Ione for one of my most enjoyable paranormal reads this year! I can’t wait to see what you have up your sleeve next.
Miki and Conall are so much fun! If you haven't read these books yet, what are you waiting for? I love Miki's personality, she just tells it like it iMiki and Conall are so much fun! If you haven't read these books yet, what are you waiting for? I love Miki's personality, she just tells it like it is without a care for consequences. Conall is, yes, just a big teddy bear, ha! The Viking! He is sweet, and nice, but also hot and all wolf ;)
The banter between these two is classic, they are hilarious! The action was also very good, these books always have a good storyline along with your smut and humor.
Miki is the smart one of the group, and Conall plays dumb a bit to tease her, but he finally gets her to come out of her shell. And then the fever hits... LOL
We still get to see Sara and Zach, and just a small glimpse of Angelina and Nikolai... Can't wait to re-read their book, it's my favorite. Sara has grown into her role as pack alpha female, and has a DOG! LMAO Her and Zach also got "fixed".
We also get our first view of the Van Holtz pack... Oh, I can't wait for the next Pride book to come out!!! (Big Bad Beast)...more
If there is a reason why you haven't picked up the Pride books yet, you have to put everything else aside and get them! If you didn't know about them, then let me introduce you to the sexiest shifters around!
This Pride book is all about fun! Mitch Shaw has a "nothing-bothers-me" playful attitude towards life, and Sissy Mae, even though crude and mean at times, is a fun chick!
And Mitch is one of my favorite felines in ALL shifter series! How adorable is he? We first met him for a little bit in the second story of book 1 (Shaw's Tail). We thought he was the good-for-nothing brother of successful Brendon Shaw, turns out he was a cop who had gone undercover to expose a mobster, and was now in the witness protection program! They need him alive to testify, the criminals want him dead. And lets not forget that he IS the karaoke king among the Kuznetzov Pack, to be worshiped at their altar. *snickers*
Mitch and Sissy are best buds, they've been working together at Mace & Smitty's security firm. Mitch is being his usual prankster self, and Sissy is her usual "just-a-tad-bitchy" she-wolf. This book begins while we are still at Jessie Ann & Smitty's wedding, and yes, Mitch and Sissy Mae are both still fighting their attraction to each other, because between good friends sex will only complicate things, and then there's the fact that Mitch knows after he testifies he will have to assume a new identity and disappear. But things take a turn for the worst when Mitch gets shot. Yes, someone is after him, wants him dead, and it just happens to be shifter. How can they protect Mitch?
Sissy takes it upon herself to "kidnap" him, taking him where she swore she would never return. Back home to Tennessee. Nobody knows he's there. And Sissy soon finds herself full of hot naked lion, in a town full of crazy wolves, and BOY he can eat!!!
Crazy, hysterical, extremely sexy and cute. This book will keep you entertained from page one, and you won't be able to put it down! Their banter had me almost in tears laughing. And some of the things that happen just... I have no words. Like when Mitch ends up wrestling with Ralph (the alligator), or when we meet cousin Dee Ann, or when they go to the grocery store because Mitch "ate her out of her house".
And as any good, honorable lion shifter, when this bad boy gets all hot and bothered, HE CAN DELIVER!
So what are you waiting for? You have to read this series! You have to read this author! It is guaranteed to get you out of any reading funk, improve your mood, and... make your insides quiver.
It is so difficult to pick a favorite quote, since most of this book is full of humor, but here's my best attempt:
Best description of Sissy Mae: To quote Janie Mae, "Sissy came out of my womb with her middle finger raised."
"Is that why they call you Mr. Fumble Paws?"
"Sexy, sexy," she growled at him before she could stop herself. "You treat me like a whore" "You are a whore" He grinned "This is true"...more

I first fell in love with both characters in book one. Colin Sandhurst, Lord Payne, is a rake, a flirt, always getting in trouble and never sleeping alone. We heard a little bit about his "condition" of needing to have someone sleep with him or he just can't sleep but we didn't know the origin of that story. Isn't it always the funny, unabashed heroes that have the most depth? Well that's exactly what you can expect from Lord Payne.
While everyone in town thinks he has his sights set on Diana Highwood, it is actually her sister that has caught and stirred his interest. Minerva is the smart one of her sisters, she never wants to outshine another so long as she is left alone with her rocks. Well, she is very much interested in geology and has found a fascination with some underground caves in Spindle Cove. While her mother decided to extend their stay thinking that Lord Payne might propose to her sister, she's been researching and gathering information about a footprint she's found in one of the caves.
But when she hears from the rumor mill in town that Lord Payne might be proposing to Diana so that he can access the money in his fortune earlier than he was supposed to, she comes to him with a proposition. He can come along with her to a geology simposium so she can present her findings which will earn her 500 guineas. He can keep the money, which will support him until his birthday in London, when he will have access to his fortune. Tempting as this might be to a rake like him (ha!) she doesn't have an easy time of it convincing him but finds himself going anyway.
It helps that he's been attracted to her from the start for unknown reasons. Or maybe just because she is a surprise. They are polar opposites and they bicker and argue at every opportunity. He teases her constantly but she gives it right back. She's so innocent at times where he is concerned. And she reaches a part of him that he doesn't show others easily.
I loved Colin and Minerva together so much I just couldn't put this book down! There was never a dull moment in their adventure to get to Scotland and I was rooting for them the whole time. And there is also a tortured past that our hero has to face head on for his girl that might've brought me close to tears towards the end. If you like your heroines spunky and smart, crazy adventures, funny dialogues and a whole lot of sparks flying then you must read this book!
Top 10 reasons why every paranormal romance reader HAS TO BUY this book:
1. If you think the cover is hot then you better wear a bib while reading this, there will be major drooling going on. Hunks galore!
2. It's not all about the eye candy. What Living Girl doesn't want tips for catching her own immortal man? This book has that and so much more fun with articles and quizzes!
3. The excerpts are perfect for a LOTU virgin or an obsessed fan. Maddox and Paris steam up the pages with sneak peaks into their books.
4. Speaking of LOTU, amazing casting of the Lords. I'm not even kidding, those demons are perfect. Only complaint... Cameo's pic.
5. The spoof ads. I was literally cracking up with all the immortal style marketing pages included. Not to be missed. Maybe my favorite part.
6. This felt just like reading a Cosmopolitan at all times, with the added benefit that the topic was the immortal man. Excellent job by both authors at doing something so different but 100% well put together.
7. The reader letters. Funny as hell and with some really good answers back. Because sometimes people just want to know if horn size is relative to... other things.
8. Ever wonder what to cook for your immortal man? Have a party and don't know what they'll drink? Well there's food and drink recipes that will be sure to make their mouth water!
9. Horn condoms come in different sizes and flavors! LMAO You will find some of the funniest comments and ideas.
10. Last but not least. I left this laying around a few times and my boyfriend would look at it and start laughing over some of the ads or lines, even the icebreakers. And he can care less about all my other books, so you if you can manage that then know you've got a hit!
So what are you waiting for? You HAVE to buy this. Every PNR household should own a copy!

Three weddings and a funeral. But actually the other way around. The death of their uncle has brought Valerie and Brea home in Oklahoma to help their sister Jolene run the ranch. Who would've thought such a sad event would've brought love into their lives?
Valerie, the older sister, thought she wasn't cut out for the ranch lifestyle and left the ranch and her ex-husband behind and moved to the city to become a "real" doctor. But now that she's back, feelings and sparks rekindle between her and Mason. I love second chance stories and theirs was sweet because they are able to work through the issues they couldn't when they were young and in love. Sometimes at that time it seemed all they had was great sex, and now they still have that but more.
"Hey, I didn't know a striptease went with the stitching."
Brea, the middle sister, is the shy one of the bunch. She's never been too much into dressing up and taking care of her appearance and doesn't have the best self esteem. When she gets back she's captivated by one hot horse trainer. Washboard abs, tanned skin, skills to tame even the wildest animal, control...and on top of all that sexiness, he's a reader! =) He's up front with Brea about him not being boyfriend material but Brea gets past his defenses and has him wanting more.
"Well, yee haw, honey," Jolene said with a wide grin on her face. "There's nothing better than being with a man who knows what to do with his dick. Congratulations. So what the hell are you doing with us? Go ride that bad boy until you wear him out."
Jolene, the youngest sister, has the hots for her foreman's right hand man, Walker Morgan. Jolene is not a girly girl, she's been working her ranch her whole life. She enjoys it. She's also very confident and determined to get what she wants. And it's time for Walker to realize she wants him. Walker was hot with just the right amount of fight in him about getting together because she's the boss and he's the ranch hand. They were great together!
"Look, Walker. We've had years of foreplay, and that's plenty for me. I'm hot, I'm wet and I want you inside me. We can play later."
I loved the dynamics between the sisters in this story as well. They are funny and give each other hell all the time but they're also there for each other now more than they've ever been. Again, if I had to pick a favorite couple in this story I'd have to go with Gage and Brea. They were both the most changed by the end of their story. Him being a drifter and now wanting to stay somewhere and call it home with the woman he loves. Her being completely confident and having come out of her shell. And hot, yeah, scorching hot! Gage is just too hot to handle.
This was a really hot and sweet book at the same time! It almost makes me want to wish that was me.... almost! But it was an excellent read....more
Truly an amazing story! After the ending of Fifty Shades of Grey I HAD to rush and read book 2. I had to know what happened next between Grey and Ana, and I had so many unanswered questions about the mysterious Christian Grey. And Fifty Shades Darker answered a lot of them!
I think what shocked me the most was Christian attitude and personality change in this book. He has to be one of my favorite characters. He's so complex, and reading this book is like peeling a layer at a time. In not so many words, he is a very fucked up individual because of his past and circumstances, but he has pushed through, become successful and in this book he faces his biggest obstacle yet.
When Ana leaves him he realizes that he's in love with her. And this is such an intense emotion for him, she truly is his rock and his anchor. In order to keep her he has to change how he's been used to treating women and relationships, and how he sees himself.
And I gotta tell you, to have a mans' attentions focused on you so intently like Christian shows Ana, you can't help but being jealous. Yes, there, I said it! I WAS JEALOUS READING THIS BOOK. Jealous of any girl who looked at my Fifty, jealous of Ana because of course I could do better if I had him. Just plain jealous. I want him!
The plot in this book is a bit more light than book one, there's a lot of revelations about Christians' past, a lot of them pretty messed up. There's also some intrigue and drama, nosy exes, crazy stalkers and pushy bosses.
One of my complaints from book one was the style of writing, and I don't know if it changed in this book, I really wouldn't say it did, but it did not bother me at all. Maybe I was used to it now, but it didn't interfere with my reading! Does that even make sense?
And of course we can't talk about Fifty and not talk about sex. There's a lot of sex in this book. On a boat, elevator, pool table, on top of a piano. Very very creative. In book one I mentioned that it didn't come across as hot because of the way the scenes were written. That is still the case up to a point for me. However, I have such a connection to Fifty now that even if he looks at Ana a certain way I think it's sexy.
I think Ms. James has done such an amazing job with Christian's character! Ana is still a bit childish, and at times I wanted to slap her. Now of course she will the cause for any problems in the next book, because she wouldn't listen and use her damn Blackberry! *TWITCHY PALMS* But overall, I think for someone that young she's doing an amazing job with dealing with such an intense relationship.
Ana's inner goddess I thought was cute, but to be honest, I couldn't help but have this image of Jaz Sparks, UF heroine and assassin, popping up in my head. She was my first heroine with voices in her head with an attitude. So every time the inner goddess popped up looking up from her half-moon glasses or wearing her pink boa and fuck me shoes, I just pictured Jaz's teen or bimbo self. Still funny though.
Who else I thought was cute? Mia and Ethan! I want to read more about them and I hope they get their own book. I think they would be fun to read about. But I can't wait for the next book to come out! I'm looking forward to seeing Fifty and Ana try to use up all the surfaces on the apartment, the new house, the boat, there's still the car sex he promised her.... Ahhhh the choices!...more

There are many reasons why I didn’t want to read this book. First, I knew where the story would inevitably end. Second, I stay away from these types of books and hope for the movie to come out. I deal much better with 2 hours of heart break than the detailed suffering I can get while reading the book. And third, even though my good friend and book pimp told me to read it because I had to and it was so awesome, she gave me this warning that I would not be the same for days after finishing it. Well…I got exactly what I feared, and exactly what I wanted.
See, I went to the movies recently and saw the trailer for the upcoming movie based on this book. And by the end of the trailer I was in tears. I immediately said this would definitely fall in the second category above because I didn’t think I could survive reading it. Then after a few days I read another sad book and after finishing that I felt that I needed this one. I was ready for a book that would tear into my heart and not let it go.
THE FAULT IN OUR STARS is devastating in the most pleasurable way. If I would’ve had the energy and voice to wail I probably would’ve. But instead, all I could manage was silence. Silence while I quietly sobbed and fat tears poured down my face. I was in a constant state of despair while reading the beautiful story of not only our heroine, Hazel Grace, but the lives of everyone she came in contact around her. Because not only is our heroine so amazing that I might say she’s one of the best heroines I’ve read this year. Augustus Waters, her soul mate, is just as wonderful if not more. There’s very little about this book that is easy to read but at the same time it is so beautiful I couldn’t help but have a smile on my face. Even through the fat and ugly tears.
Reading this book was definitely not easy. I don’t think I’ve cried as much in a really long while, if not ever. It wasn’t just once, or twice. This book brought me to tears enough that I can’t keep track of them. I cried (and snotted, yes I admit it) for a good half hour straight at one point. I could literally feel my heart breaking. To the point that I had to lock myself in the bathroom twice and in my room at the end, so I could cry in peace, alone with my book.
I wish I could give you a collection of favorite quotes but the reality is that this whole book is quote worthy. This was my first John Green novel and I was blown away with the talent he has at storytelling. I say this as I am still a crying, snotty mess writing this review. Quotes above love, about life, about death and despair, and friendship. Quotes that I will forever cherish and feel how powerful they are.
I recommend this for anyone that wants to read a smart and beautifully devastating story. Not just a love story, although it probably is the sweetest one I’ve read in a while. But a life story. One that will stay with you for a good long while. That may make you appreciate your own life just a bit more. That will make you say I love you to those around you, because you can. Yes, reading this book wasn’t easy… but it was so worth it! Even as it leaves you completed and utterly gutted. Because at the end you will be better for having been touched by these wonderful characters.
And I will leave you with a quote that can sum up their story and this book, even as simple as it is.
“The marks humans leave are too often scars.” ...more

Here’s my issue with some of the less angsty new adult, usually. One of the characters usually makes me want to bash their skull in. THE DEAL doesn’t suffer from this. This is a smart new adult about two wonderful characters I quickly fell for and I can almost guarantee you will too! As much as I’ve loved Elle Kennedy’s writing in the past, this was a new genre and I wasn’t too sure what to expect. Leave it to an awesome writer to do the story justice. THE DEAL was my favorite read in quite some time, and definitely in my top 5 of 2015 so far!
Garrett is a college hockey player, and to stay in the game he has to keep his grades at a certain level. Which he can’t because he’s failing one of his subjects. Hannah just happens to be acing it! So he seeks her help in tutoring him. At first she doesn’t want anything to do with the jock, she’s the artsy type and a singer and has this preconceived idea of what his type is like. But then he finds the one thing she wants that he can help her with and they make …. THE DEAL.
Garrett is the ideal book boyfriend material. He’s got the looks, he’s got the muscles, the quick banter and the fun personality. But he’s also caring and tender. Supportive and possessive. Let’s just say I quickly became a puddle at his feet. And Hannah was a great heroine too. She’s overcome so much and she’s pushing through her hang ups and issues just plowing ahead. Facing her fears head on where someone else might’ve cowered.
Their relationship is nothing but fun. I loved every second of it. Even though it’s not all roses and there are some tough and dramatic back stories, on both parts, Hannah and Garrett are so perfect together that it was a breeze to read every second of it. I could’ve read more! Why did it have to end? But I can tell you this, I’ll be anxiously awaiting the next installment!
It’s not often that I pick up a book with no expectations and it takes me on an unsuspected ride. I couldn’t resist the cover and title of this one.
It’s not often that I pick up a book with no expectations and it takes me on an unsuspected ride. I couldn’t resist the cover and title of this one. And the fact that I thought it would be cute and funny was a big plus. I don’t read enough funny books to my liking. There just aren’t that many good ones out there! This, though. THIS BOOK had me crying with laughter and texting all my friends about it.
Rosie is a 23 year old, trying to make her career as a writer but working at a cat magazine spending her days writing about the best ways to clean your litter box. She wants something better for herself, and her two roommates and college buddies both have great careers while she feels like she’s been falling behind. Her dream has always been to write a romance novel, but she’s stuck. She’s stuck on the Fabio and body ripper days because that’s mostly what she reads, and she’s stuck because she can’t seem to write about sex. See she’s a virgin, so how can she write about something she hasn’t experienced. This is where her two best friends and roommates join forces to help her explore her sexual and dating life and sign her up for online dating. What follows while Rosie explores this new side of herself is hysterical!
utc-top-pickWhile a lot of funny books I find don’t have a strong romance, I was definitely sold on the chemistry between Rosie and Henry. There wasn’t a whole lot of mystery to the fact that she needs to end up with him and I enjoyed every moment between the two of them. Like tip-toeing around flirting and seducing while still trying to believe they were just friends. I can even forgive him the jackass move at the end. They were perfect together!
I can’t tell people enough how much they need to pick this up. It was definitely one of my favorite reads so far this year and I loved it so much I now feel the urge to go and read more of Meghan Quinn’s books and see if they are all funny like this. Personality goes a long way for me in my enjoyment of a story, and I loved what came through in this story.
Beware, snorting, fits of laughter and weird looks from those around you will happen while reading THE VIRGIN ROMANCE NOVELIST. It’s bound to happen whether it’s the dates gone wrong, the damn cat antics in the office or Rosie herself and the things that come out of her mouth. This was just the book I needed to bring some happiness to my month and I think you need to run to get it. Get ready to just have a good time!
“I’m not living in my books; they’re just my friends.”
“I’m a guy, I get a boner over side boob…anything can turn me on, really.”
“It’s foggy in here,” Atticus called out as he brushed the baby powder cloud out of our space. “Yeah, weird,” I laughed nervously, as I tried to avoid eye contact with everyone who thought I was smoking a plate of pork loins in my vagina.

If THE GIRL IN 6E flexed my reading muscles, DO NOT DISTURB pushed some of my limits. I shouldn’t have been ok with some of the things that take place in this book. I wanted to look away at times. But instead, I was completely glued to the pages and had to read more to find out how it would all turn out. Call it morbid fascination, but it’s great entertainment!
That being said, the hunter becomes the hunted in this book. Deanna may be a tough bitch but there are other predators out there. And as her confidence grows and she tries to be more “human” now that she has a boyfriend, life catches up with her and who she is has to come back to play.
This book has a bit of everything. Voyeurism, sex (of the icky kind as well as the hot kind), obsessive friends, explosions, body disposals and some good ol’ torture. It is not for the faint of heart, and I can’t help but repeat this over and over. Deanna is the female version of Dexter, just not quite as functional in society as he was just yet. Here’s to hoping we can get there!
I don’t want to spoil what happens in the book because it’s best savored one page at a time, but I was especially taken with Deanna. With her badass attitude and her naivete at times. It was nice to see her a little vulnerable. It was also necessary to see her break down for those she cares for. As much as she has a bad side, this book goes a long way in proving she’s got good and we can try to identify with her in some ways.
Maybe some of the ways other characters in the book saw her in DO NOT DISTURB is not ideal, and things might be changed in their relationships. But as long as you’re going in with a strong stomach and prepared to be shocked a couple of times, then you’re good to go on that one!
The ending…. well, the ending was a bit far-fetched and maybe not my favorite part of the story. But after reading the authors note I can only say I’m happier with the ending we got than the one she originally planned!
If you haven’t read this series, then I recommend you give it a try. I’m shockingly hooked! There is just something about Deanna Madden that I disturbingly love, I just can’t help it. I don’t think this is for everyone, and you have to let the characters take over instead of your thought process at times, but I find it immensely entertaining and can’t wait to read more dark reads like this from Ms. Torre.

Spence is hot. And when he has to go work with special agent Shadoe, then things get hotter. Of course both of them are reluctant to act on that attraction because they are on a case and they should keep their focus on the job, but the sparks are hard to put out.
So why do I think this book has just about every checkmark on my list of sexiness must-reads? Bad boy biker, check. Part of a badass government organization, check. Sexy and badass chick, check. Sexy setting, check (A strip club in New Orleans). Did I make my case yet?
Spence is very alpha and intense. Shadoe is out to prove she can play with the big boys. They both have tough pasts and ultimately that helps cement a stronger bond than any physical attraction. They are a perfect fit, in and out of the bedroom.
The storyline is fast paced and action packed, while Shadoe and Spence are set to bring down a corrupt DEA Agent. Shadoe plays the part of a stripper and Spence is her boyfriend/bodyguard so they can both be in the thick of the action and get the clues they need.
Loved these two together, maybe my favorite couple so far. Definitely steamy and very well developed and likeable characters.
"You heard me." He pulled the chair around and sat in it. "I'm a paying customer. Strip for me." Spence's gaze followed her, and she teased him with a roll of her hip near his shoulder, barely grazing him. Emboldened by the sudden flash of heat in his eyes, she took it further, dragging the hem of her T-shirt up, baring the skin of her belly.
The third book in the Turner series features Smite. He's not the rake, but not the virgin either. What he isThis review was posted at Under The Covers
The third book in the Turner series features Smite. He's not the rake, but not the virgin either. What he is is a strict, cold, very serious lawman. I mean, his nickname is Lord Justice which he got because they tease him about being married to Lady Justice!
He's gone through a very traumatic childhood and, much like Mark, his mother truly left her mark on him. The events have traumatized him in many ways and they are the reason why he is the way he is today.
So when he meets Miranda, a girl from the wrong side of town, who's been working for The Patron doing some less than legal activities, it's a wonder that he wants to be with her. But what he offers her is a deal. She will be his mistress for a month, he will put her in a nice house and pay her for her services.
As much as Miranda would have never considered something like that before, the fact that she does have an attraction to Smite, and that the money would buy her a new life, she accepts. Even though she is a virgin herself.
But shortly into their affair her past comes calling. The Patron wants her back and will do and threaten whomever to get that.
I was enamored with Smite, his sentimentality quota, his stern ways, and his sweet and thoughtful moments. He showed he cared for Miranda from day one and he was not afraid to show that even in public. He wasn't hiding her and he stood up to others for her more than once.
The Turners just can't find love in all the normal places but they've all delivered great stories, and the writing by Ms. Milan is smooth and very easy to read. This one had me glued to the pages! ...more
