I Love Butch!!! I have since the first time I read Dark Lover and I still do. There's just something about the rough-around-the-edges human that I can't resist!
He's been in love with Marissa from the beginning, and he's wanted to play more of a role in the battle the brothers fight night in and night out, and this book gives him the chance.
I love the relationship building between Butch and Marissa, as well as the deepening of caring between Butch and V. They will always be forever tied to each other as it was destined to be!
As much of a hard ass as Butch is, he is so sweet and soft to Marissa because he knows that's what she needs.
Favorite scenes: - When V is watching Marissa and Butch in the hospital bed. - When Butch finds out that Rehv was the one feeding Marissa and jumps him. - V taking Butch to the hospital and being torn inside because they don't know if he'll survive.
On a side note, I keep hating Havers more and more. First the thing with Wrath, then what he tried to do to Marissa. Why can't he just mind his own business!!!(less)

I’ve said this before, but it bears repeating. Lisa Kleypas has a way with words. The ease of her writing is astonishing every single time. She can truly write a novel that flows almost effortlessly and draws you in until you are living and breathing in her world.
CRYSTAL COVE was no different. I devoured this book in less than 24 hours. Once I started, I was compelled to turn the pages and know what happened next.
Other than the beautiful writing and sweet storylines that she’s always known for, CRYSTAL COVE has again an amazing set of characters. Justine is a spunky heroine that believes love is out of her reach. But truly there is a curse in her family and the men they fall in love with are destined to die. So she’s preferred to stay alone. Better NOT to have loved and than lost.
And Jason is the typical millionaire that is so popular nowadays in romance books. He’s all powerful, has all the money in the world, lives a very methodical lifestyle where everything goes according to his wishes, and …. he also has a dark secret.
“The fissure of a crescent moon gleamed white and clear like a claw mark in the sky. A night made for magic.”
CRYSTAL COVE is also a bit different from the rest of the series in that Ms. Kleypas does delve into the paranormal and magical aspects that were previously just hinted at or where not the main focus of the story. Although, ultimately, this is a story about Justine and Jason, this is also very much so about magic for both of them. In the previous books that was less prominent. However, being a reader of paranormal, I didn’t have a problem with the deeper exploration of these topics.
Another surprise in this one was the addition of some BDSM. To be quite honest, that’s the main reason this book didn’t get a 5 star review for me. I read BDSM normally, it just didn’t quite work to where it needed to be for Kleypas. It didn’t feel like real BDSM, it just felt like she wanted to put the characters in that position and then didn’t know how they should act once they were there. Yes, he ties her up and all that. And yes, this makes sense with his character because he is very controlling in every other aspect of his life. I’m just not sure if BDSM works for Lisa Kleypas. Ultimately, I couldn’t wait for that scene to be over and done with so they could get back to more sexy loving. And this book did have quite a bit of hot, sexy loving.
This may not be my favorite book in this series, I still think nothing can compare to DREAM LAKE, but it was definitely a great addition and it has me wanting LIGHTNING BAY that much more.
“I didn’t know happiness came in these flavor,” she said absently, her head on his shoulder. “Marshmallow and chocolate?” “And you. My favorite flavor.”
“If I had a soul, I’d have sold it for a chance to see you like this.”

Dream lake was an emotional book from beginning to end and I loved every minute of it, every tear and every smile. Alex has been through the ringer. Everything that could go wrong for him has. His wife divorced him, she's selling the house that he lives in, business is slow, and he's becoming an alcoholic like his parents. He is not in a good place and definitely not where he should be to meet a good girl.
But he does. And Zoe is sweet and understanding, a giving person. Truly what he needs to come out of his rut. And, of course, it helps that she's smoking hot. She needs her house remodeled to start taking care of her grandmother who has special needs and he takes on the job, against his better judgement. He knows he should stay away from Zoe, he's no good for her. Their relationship builds up slowly and perfectly even against both of their better judgements. It's hot and sweet and even sad at times. Just perfect!
Then there's the ghost. Alex picked up a ghost companion at Rainshadow Road and now he has to help him figure out who he is. The ghost is just awesome! I loved him from the beginning and how he's intertwined with the story was just amazing and magical.
Dream Lake was gripping and once I started it I couldn't stop until I finished it. It consumed me for the short time that I read it in. Another hit from Kleypas! Truly masterful. Even as it brought tears to my eyes more than once. One of my favorite reads of 2012!
Favorite Quote: "No matter what I become...I will love you! No force of heaven or hell could stop me, and damn anyone who tries. I will love you forever".

Don't you just love stories about the big tough guy that has been lusting after a younger girl and thinking he can't have her? Well, this was one sexy example of that!
Jessie has been with the Wild Riders for years and Diaz has been watching her grow up into a beautiful woman, where all the other members of the crew just see her as their kid sister. He's very protective of her but feels that he's too old and too damaged to deserve her. He has a tortured past and yes, he's one of those annoying heroes that think because his dad beat women, then he will too.
But now they are forced into a mission together. Jessie of course sees this, not only as her chance to prove that she deserves to be part of the group, but also a chance to steal Diaz's heart. Because she feels he never pays attention to her that way. Their mission is to infiltrate a motorcycle gang that is selling illegal guns to a survivalist group.
It takes time for Jessie to break through, but I loved her every step of the way. I wanted to be her at times and that didn't even have anything to do with the hot and smexy parts, although I would've wanted to be her then because Jessie and Diaz are SMOKING HOT, be warned!
Diaz on the other hand, yes he's sexy and alpha but I wanted to beat some sense into him quite a few times. Even with that, I couldn't help but like him and this was an amazing read, I loved the motorcycle gang storyline it was interesting and fit with their characters and kept the suspense level high on this great story, while still being heavy on the romance and sex. And of course the bikes and bike rallies... What more can you ask for?
"Oh, he noticed. All the wrong things. Like her curves. Her breasts. Her long legs and sexy voice. Her mouth. Her laugh and her quick wit. She made his dick hard. And he'd known her since she was a kid. Yeah, he noticed her all right. He'd tried to avoid her since her eighteen birthday when she turned those gorgeous green eyes on him in a way that made his balls quiver. She was smart - too damn smart for her own good. Jessie was one hellaciously sexy package that he couldn't touch. She made him crazy. He wasn't going to survive this assignment."

This is one of those series that has me biting my nails in anticipation of the next book. Waiting not so patiently and shifting from foot to foot for my next hit. Who would've thought this is where I'd be today and how I would feel.
Ms. Kane is one of the very few authors that can make me feel a myriad of emotions, all in one book. Sacrificial Magic is no different.
From the amazing writing, to the non stop story and characters that have stolen my heart. Sacrificial Magic will take you on such a ride, I really didn't want it to end. THAT I CAN GUARANTEE!
This book made me angry, sad, scared, turned on, rabidly pissed off, brought tears to my eyes and put a smile on my face. At times I was literally sick to my stomach, watching the train wreck unfolding; other times I couldn't help but cry at things that just broke my heart. But the whole time I couldn't help but put the whole world around me on hold because I couldn't put this down!
Downside is not a world I would like to be caught in. It's a scary place. And when Chess is assigned a Church job in Slobag's part of town to debunk a school that's alleging a haunting; things can get bad. Right from the get-go.
I don't want to ruin the story and tell you what happens, but expect to find dead bodies, evil humans, evil ghosts and some pissed off drug lords. Chess as usual is in the middle, and while she tries to do her job and she tries to help Bump, what she's really trying to come to terms with is the fact that she is in a relationship with Terrible. And she's never been in a relationship. To the point that she fucks up plenty, again.
Don't take this from me, because I am in love and love is blind and all, but Terrible is the perfect man. The way he loves Chess, so deep, it comes through in his acceptance of her. It's raw and powerful.
This series is a MUST READ!!! One of my favorite series, and Sacrificial Magic might be my favorite yet! Definitely unputdownable, and mind-blowingly amazing! Yes, I have to make up words to tell you how I feel about it.
I am preparing myself for the changes Chasing Magic will bring. It's going to be a lot more intense now that the stakes have been raised!
And these are some of the quotes that had my heart speeding, tripping and skipping:
"The sound of the exit door slamming back into its frame hit her ears at the same time his body slammed her against the back wall, farther into the shadows where no one could see him kiss her long and hard."
"My place is closer." "Aye." He leaned in to bite her neck; she shivered. "But mine's got thicker walls, dig, an I plan on makin you scream a few times afore we get to sleeping."
"I chose you," she managed, choking out the words in a strangled, warbly sounding whisper. "I chose you, I chose you all but I chose you, I love you so much and I chose you-"
"I want to be with you and if you weren’t there I wouldn’t want to be. I chose you"
“You got that, aye? Ain’t you know it? Love you right, till it hurts. Ain’t goin nowhere, don’t need to cry, ’sall right up—”(less)

For Nalini Singh’s tenth book of the Psy-Changeling series, we decided to do something special for this Kiss of Snow review. Since we are all big fans of his series, we decided to write a “review” as an IM transcript. Please note that what you read below is actually a real conversation between Francesca and I and that the opinions expressed here are our own and events that take place did in fact happen.
We hope you enjoy and let us know in the comments if you would like to see more reviews written in this type of format! We’d love to hear your thoughts! On to KISS OF SNOW:
Francesca: I think we need to give a warning to anyone that will read this book!
Annie: Okay, like this? WARNING! This book is so addictive, so sexy that you’ll need an extra change of panties (or two)!! Will require a day’s rest after reading the orgasmic alpha that is Hawke! Bring your gush bucket! You mean like that?
Annie: And a defibulator for when your heart stops beating at Hawke’s sexy words!!
Francesca: Exactly! YOU HAVE BEEN FOREWARNED!! OK, so I think we can start with our fangirl crush. How excited are we to finally have Hawke's book?!?!?!
Annie: Hawke! Hawke! Hawkee!!!! Hawke has been a favourite of mine every since he flirted with the DarkRiver alpha's mate, Sascha.
Francesca: Mine too. I feel like I've waited forever to read his story! Did you always want his mate to be Sienna?
Annie: Hawke has had my heart since the beginning. And NO, I wanted to be his mate. But if there had to be someone, then yes, Sienna was always the one for him. There was no doubt about that. How do you feel about the age difference between Hawke and Sienna?
Francesca: They've been tip-toeing around each other since Hawke took the Laurens' in, and as long as they waited for her to be adult, the age difference was never an issue for me. However I think it was addressed and dealt with perfectly in this book. My only problem with the age difference...We get 50% of what Hawke could've been. What about the romance and all the sexual tension?
Annie: I think the romance starts off from the very beginning. They have great chemistry. They just haven't acted upon it yet, you know?
Francesca: I agree. The build up is actually PERFECT. I like that he's not jumping her every time she offers. LOL
Annie: She's scared of him. He's a sexually potent guy and in addition, he's alpha. She's young too. Plus a Psy.
Francesca: What was your take on Sienna's development in character? From previous appearances in other books and her actions/decisions in this book?
Annie: I thinks she has come a long way. I didn't think I'd like her much. I don't LOVE her, but I don't hate her either. I think....I'm jealous mostly.
Francesca: I'm jealous too, but I'm just a little disappointed that Hawke is not getting the hot book from cover to cover I was expecting, he has to contain himself because he's afraid of scaring her.
Annie: It's not as hot as I thought it would be. But I knew there would be lots of sexual tension and there's plenty of that. I like that Sienna knows she wants Hawke despite her "younger" status. Hawke is infuriating, I love it when he gets angry!
Francesca: Hawke is just TOO SENSUAL, TOO DECADENT, TOO SEXY. I'm a puddle at his feet right now! He can do with me as he pleases
Annie: That's so true! I wouldn't change Hawke given the chance. I thought he was so sexy, so irresistible, I couldn't get enough of him! (Cue the swooning, please) And what about the sex scenes? Yeah?
Francesca: Hawke is a SEX GOD!
Annie: Lots of groans and "Ohh my GOD!!!" moments for me. I had to take frequent breaks to control myself.
Francesca: He's soooo alpha. I was literally panting through the last 25% of the book.
Annie: Gah! Yes! The ending was... wow! I have no words. Beyond anything I could conjure up myself. Action-packed is an understatement. I know you're a big fan of Riley and Drew as well, after reading this... who's your man now?
Francesca: That's a tough question. Can I just keep all 4??? You forgot to include my man Judd in there! You know, something I loved about this book is how we still get to see Judd, Riley and Drew involved in the storyline.
Annie: How would I forget sexy Judd?! And I won't judge if you want them all! I'd do the same! Speaking of others in the storyline... What did you think of Sascha?
Francesca: She was a bit different in this one. I liked how they're slowly showing us her relationship with Nikita developing and maybe even unfolding things that could've been in the past. Nikita may have a heart after all! I think she loved Sascha from the beginning and was protecting her. And what about Lucas?
Annie: I liked Lucas's protectiveness in this one. Loved that he would do anything to protect his woman and child. It was endearing and hot, showing that animalistic side that I don't think we always witness with the level-headed alpha. Okay, if Lucas and Hawke were dueling it out, who do you think would win?
Francesca: Definitely Hawke!!! I personally think he is a tougher alpha, at least from what we saw in this book.
Annie: Hawke was amazing!
Francesca: I'm curious to see what you thought of the Psy in this one!
Annie: Is it just me or don't the Psy seem more dead and emotionless than they did in previous books? So devoid of anything. Creeps me the hell out.
Francesca: Yeah I agree. Pure Psy and Ming are getting very bad!! But the arrows have some feeling!
Annie: I'm very interested to see how that plays out! My mind is still trying to wrap my brain around who the ghost is.
Francesca: I was pretty sure it was Kaleb before. And I'm still 70% - 75% on Kaleb, but after this book, Vasic is starting to look like another likely possibility. But I just want Kaleb to get a book!
Annie: What about Walker and Lara? Aren't they so sweet together?
Francesca: Lara and Walker were such a nice addition to this book. I thought they were getting their own book before, but I think their story kept the sexual tension going! Loved it! Walker is so strong and sweet and loyal. I loved to see him caring for Lara all the time.
Annie: They had their own bit of tension going on themselves. I loved it! It felt like an added bonus to an already sexy book. Who do you think should get their own book?
Francesca: RIAZ!!!!!! Right now I'm liking his character the most. Mysterious and sexy! So maybe Riaz and Jem??? What do we think about that? I want Riaz to get a mate! LOL He seems so intense. Have we seen Jem before? And after giving him some time to grow up more, I think Kit will have a really hot book.
Annie: LOL! Yes yes! I want more of both!
Francesca: Which brings me to my next question... We met a lot of young wolves, who did you like best?
Annie: Hmm Tai. Kid’s growing up quick!
Francesca: I think Evie (Indigo's sister) sounds like a really cool character. I hope she gets a story even if she doesn't end up with Tai.
Annie: Even if they don't end up together, I would still want to read about them.
Francesca: I also liked that we get to see the dynamics of the SnowDancers as a pack. The strategy, the meetings, the caring for each other...
Annie: Sooo....Team DarkRiver or Team SnowDancer?
Francesca: You should know my answer to that! SNOWDANCER.
Annie: Ok ok I did know that. Me? I'm Team Changeling! LOL I can’t decide!
Francesca: I’m laughing my ass off now. Apparently my boyfriend has our convo on HIS phone somehow and he just told me that there’s this Annie girl texting him about some Lucas dude.
Francesca: He says we’re both retarded! Then he started laughing, LOL!
Annie: This is so embarrassing! Omg, tell him I’m sorry. Next time I text him, I’ll talk about a chick instead, LOL!
Francesca: Okay, he said he’ll respond to that and you can be his secret lover!
Annie: LOL, you got it baby! I wonder what he thought about the gush bucket comment. Never mind. I don’t want to further embarrass myself.
Francesca: OMG I can't stop laughing! Alright, so I have one last question for you... Is it just me being extremely weird, but I have a thing for the RAT, Teijan, what about you?
Annie: Me too!!! Maybe he'll get a book soon? What do you girls think about him? Tell us in the comments!
Francesca: Well, I think we're done! And I'm still Team SnowDancer. What team are you on? VOTE BELOW!!!!
"How was dessert?" she asked, her throat a husky reminder that she'd screamed at the end. A flash of teeth. "I plan to go back for seconds in a bit." She sucked in a breath. "Bad wolf." Sliding down his hand, he tugged at her damp curls. "Hungry wolf."
Her heart, her damned vulnerable heart, had been his from the day she understood what it was he incited against him. She had no true shields against him. Never had. Never would.(less)

Wow, what a ride this book was! I love the fact that we first met Veck in Lover Unleashed but to tell you the truth I didn't think much of him then. He didn't excite me at all and I had no crazy major interest in reading this book, other than I wanted more Jim and Adrian and Eddy.
Veck is the son of a notorious serial killer who is now serving a sentence in jail for crimes he committed long ago. He has lived his whole life with the stigma and he carries himself a certain way because of that. There's a whole cult of followers who adore his father.
Of course now the time has come to battle for his soul, will Devina win this time? Or will it be a win for Team Herron?
So I told you how awesome Veck is, but I actually liked Reilly too. She was a good other half for him and their chemistry was excellent. And don't get me started on their chemistry between the sheets. But I give Veck props for all that. He is amazing.
Jim and Sissy... the whole thing is just sad! I hope that someone he can rescue her and they can be together, can that actually happen? How old was she again anyway? That would be cute.
Nigel and Colin... interesting. I liked getting a bit more insight in what happens in the Angel world. It's not all roses up there either.
Adrian and Eddy... I can't address this. My heart was broken and I couldn't stop the tears. I don't know where the plot will go from here on this.
The threesome? It was sad. As in emotional and not in the good way. Empty. And it was meant to be that for the story.
Brothers? Heck yeah! Spotted a black SUV racing down the highway and a big hunky man that came to the hospital at the end.

Which I had to do a double take because after reading the prologue I thought it was a story about Imogen and Ryder. So after I got over that and realized who the story was about, I didn't really like Suzanne, Tamara's best friend. And after going through the book, I still don't like Suzanne. So I'm not looking forward to reading her book.
Now back to this story and characters. We find ourselves in the world of professional race car driving. Tamara was married to a somewhat of a legend Pete Briggs, who died during a race accident. She has 2 beautiful and sweet kids, she hasn't dated since Pete's death, she has a lot of insecurities about her age, her looks, her body, her image, her duty, responsibility, etc.
She then meets Elec Monroe, youngest son of another legend, and who's father and Pete's father used to be friends but now are enemies and the families are supposed to hate each other. He is also only 26 years old! But he is THE perfect, non-existent guy. He is sweet, and patient, and sexy, and good with the kids, and loves all of her.
Their romance is secret at first, hiding, and meeting to have sex, very hot sex. Their story is the classic contemporary romance, but it was very well written. And for some reason it was sooo fast to read!
I'm not too sure how I feel about reading the other books in the series, I might be interested in Imogen's book (next) but I'm not too sure about Suzanne's book... We'll see how I feel after book 2.(less)

It is not secret that I devour anything and everything by Colleen Hoover. She could literally make reading the phone book entertaining. There’s something about the way she puts the words on the page that transport you to a different place and time, to a different person.
FINDING CINDERELLA is the book that I didn’t know I was dying to read. And what a nice surprise that was! I always liked Daniel and Six’s characters throughout the Hopeless series but I didn’t have them at the forefront of my mind, biting my nails to get their HEA. Technically, I didn’t even know they would have an HEA.
This story starts in the past and fast forwards to the present. I love how they first “met” without really knowing who the other was. They were there for each other from the heart. No judgement, no superfluous attraction. It was all about who they were on the inside. Six was especially broken at the time, having had the slut label hung on her one too many times and being treated accordingly.
When they meet again, and for real the second time, the sparks are immediate. And their personalities are a joy to see together. They truly are perfect for each other! Like I said, I’ve liked both their characters. But seeing Daniel interact with Six we get to see an even more playful and uninhibited side to both of them. No pretenses, they do what feels good.
This was such an awesome novella that you are given a complete story. There were no holes left in their story. However, I would’ve loved to see them have a full length book! I would’ve enjoyed it just as much because I’m always greedy for Hoover’s writing.
FINDING CINDERELLA might just be the first book by Ms. Hoover that doesn’t make me cry. That doesn’t meant it doesn’t have an emotional twist, but the quickness that it was developed with didn’t let me get as invested enough to tear my soul apart.
If you haven’t read anything by this author, then I’d recommend picking this up (it’s free!). But I recommend more reading them in order. All her books are permanently on my keeper shelf!(less)

OK, I really liked the past glimpses of Aidan, when he met Regin, how their relationship developed, how he wanted to protect her and she saved herself for him. And then tragedy strikes. And from there, in every reincarnation he has, the catalyst that causes his death is getting his memories back and having sex with Regin.
Now we have Declan. He has had a ROUGH life. Before we get to hear about any of that I thought he was the biggest ass. He treated all immortals in captivity with an iron fist. He abused them, tortured them, and had no respect for anyone. On top of that he was a bit of a junkie with the drug he was taking to suppress his berserker nature. And he didn't treat Regin any better. I will say that I was VERY glad he was not the one that left Regin in the state we saw a glimpse of in the last book. That was done behind his back and as soon as he found out he went on a rampage! Awwww And that Regin couldn't go through with getting his memories back so that he would die.
He just grew on me. He managed to really care for Regin and take care of her. And by the end of the book I was happy that she ended up with Declan instead of Aidan, even though I felt the other way around before. Or maybe you can say she has the best of both?
Lothaire... Lothaire... Lothaire... Sneaky little vampire! What is with him? Who is he rescuing? What is he doing? I can't wait for his book!
My one complaint! I really did miss the valkyries! Nyx was still great, but we didn't get to see them as much.
"She feared that she might be a lot more than infatuated with this reincarnation. Like on her way to falling-off-a-skycraper-onto-your-face in love with him."
"Can you see me, see the man that I am? Accept me, Regin, because I'm holding to nothing but you."(less)

This was the perfect ending to a wonderful series. I've been very attached to this series, I've enjoyed every single twist and turn along the way.
Love. Intrigue. Politics. Action. Humor.
This book picks up right where the last book left off. I won't get into the details of what happens in the book. But here are my thoughts on the main aspects of the story.
I'll start by saying that even though I loved both Dimitri and Adrian, and sometimes I felt like I was on both "teams" I did want to see a Rose&Dimitri HEA. They were meant to be together. Now that being said...
Rose is one of my favorite heroines! She kicks ass, she's loyal to her friends and she's a damn good guardian. She battles with her feelings for Dimitri, thinking he can't love her anymore, while still trying to be with Adrian. I only had one issue with her, and that's how she handled the cheating. I was dying for her and Dimitri to finally get together, but when he said that he loved her but that he wasn't going to take a woman away from a man that he liked and respected, she should've ended things with Adrian and then come back to Dimitri. It took away from their big moment and reunion for me. And then when she didn't come clean to Adrian right away because she still needed his help, that was just wrong. The moment she jumps in front of Lisa to save her, I knew that was coming (obviously the book is called Last Sacrifice, so something like that had to happen), and I'm really happy that nobody healed her, but that she recovered on her own and that actually broke the bond and she is now alone in her own body! Her and Lisa deserved that going forward. They can both have their own lives.
Dimitri The Russian Guardian God! He is just so sexy! And now that he finally realizes that he can be with Rose, every moment they had together had me holding my breath and my heart beating fast. They were so romantic and emotional! These two totally deserved getting their happy ending. I loved the moment when he killed the strigoi and said to her "Your hair is so beautiful". And of course my favorite quote from the book when Rose says to Dimitri "But I was meant for you". I thought I was going to die! He finally lets lose a bit in this book, and is not as hard on following the rules.
Lisa Yes we saw that coming. Of course she was destined to be the Queen, and I'm glad she's grown into her own skin enough to actually pass all the tests on her own. She still has the support of Christian and still gets Rose as her guardian!
Adrian This was the only issue I had with the book. Yes, Adrian has issues. He has a lot of growing up to do, and Rose was the person he was leaning on for support (maybe too much). He was not Rose's equal, I see that. But he loved Rose and the fact that she cheated on him, didn't come tell him, and then he finds out because she's kissing Dimitri before going into a dangerous situation after Adrian came to her aid. Not cool at all. I still hope to see more of Adrian in the spinoff series, I love him! And I really want to see him happy. I want him to get past his issues and grow as a person, but the hurt that was inflicted on him in this book was unnecessary. I was actually happy to see Adrian's reaction to that whole situation because Rose had to see that her actions hurt him. After something like that there was no way things would be ok between them after. And when he confronted her she couldn't even articulate responses. She disrespected him in the worst way, and he had every right to treat her the way he did.
Jill I couldn't have been more shocked to find out she's Lisa's sister! My jaw dropped when she opened the door! I'm curious to see if the spinoff series has anything to do with her, since Victor Dashkov made a reference as to her being important/special. And she took the whole thing of finding out who her real father was and being Lisa's sister very well. I thought she would have more problems with that.
Tasha I didn't see that coming until they interviewed the Alchemyst. Once we rule out Daniella, I knew it was Tasha, and all the reasons fell into place.
I think that summarizes my main feelings for this book. It was amazing! Written perfectly, with so much intrigue, mystery, action, and yes romance. I wish it wasn't a young adult novel so we could've read more about what happened with Dimitri and Rose behind close doors, I'm sure that was amazing! ;)
I am looking forward to the spin-off series. I can't wait! I will keep reading anything that relates to this world.(less)
How would you describe Kissin' Tell in 3 words? Fran: Sweet. And. Diiiiiiirtaaaaaay.
Suz: Has Trampoline Sex
Tell McKay...how does he compare with all the other McKay cowboys?
Fran: I seem to have this problem everytime I read a Rough Riders book...Wanting to keep that particular McKay locked in my basement. But with Tell that actually means that he is closely vying for my favorite McKay spot. I have a thing for bad boys so Colt has always been a favorite of mine, then there's Jack who actually isn't a McKay, then Cord because holy hell he's hawt. But Tell has woven his way in there and now my order and priorities is all screwed up from wanting to ... ummmmm.... ok lets leave it at that. I loved him!
Suz: What I really like about the Rough Riders series is that each McKay is really different, the only thing they seem to have in common is their spectacular bedroom skills... must be in the McKay genes! And Tell was completely different from how I expected him to be, he had hidden depth. Although, he isn't my favourite McKay, that special accolade goes to Cord, Kane and Kade I still really liked him, he was could be intense but know how to have fun and he had mad sex skills...I will never look at a trampoline again in the same way.
What did you think of Georgia? Was she worthy of lassoing a McKay male?
Fran: I personally love stories about the geeky guy having a crush on a popular girl and then years after high school they get together. So I started off liking her already because she was never the mean girl. That being said she was ok. She wasn't a wimpy heroine but not too kick ass like I prefer them. But I actually think her personality worked with Tell very well.
Suz: I don't know why...but I never felt like I got that close to Georgia. She seemed nice and I liked that she let Tell bring out the adventurous side in her but I didn't feel any real connection to her like I have with LJ's previous gals.
What did you think of the relationship between Tell and Georgia?
Fran: Talk about some hot chemistry! Between Tells prowess in the bedroom, creative and no-holds-barred imagination and Georgia's open mind to trying anything, never saying no, going for what made her feel good and all her dirrrty talking...well they were amazing in the bedroom. But they actually complemented each other very well in their every day lives as well
Suz: They definitely had sizzling sexual chemistry! And more then that, I loved that they were able to be what the other needed, Georgia needed someone to help her let go and have fun, and Tell needed someone he didn't have to be the joker with.
Overall, what did you think of this installment of the Rough Riders series?
Fran: It was amazing. Sweet and a little kinky, with lots of teenage fantasies fulfilled which were extremely hawt. Probably one of my favorite books in the Rough Riders series. Tell has the perfect balance between sweet man and take charge alpha male, with plenty of game to bring to the ummm table ;) Definitely left me wanting more. And this book also left me wanting more Dalton. Yeah, like I said I have a thing for bad boys and when before he was pissing me off, now he's drawing me in like a fly. But alas, have to get Gavin first, no that I'm complaining. I'm excited and sad at the same time to see this series come to an end. Job well done, Ms. James!
Suz: I liked it! It wasn't my favourite, for some reason I didn't feel the connection with the characters that I have in previous books. But I thought it was good. Tell was one hot cowboy and him and Georgia made a sweet couple. I am now looking forward to Gavin's book, we haven't seen much of him, but that only intrigues me more!
Fran's Fave Quote
Tell dipped up her chin. "You looked good then, but you look even better now." She said, "Oh really?" as if she didn't believe him. "Yep. Now I won't worry that I'll break you when I fuck you hard."
Suz's Fave Quote
"I think you broke me. I'm pretty sure I have trampoline burns on my knees and elbows." "At least you don't have them on your balls," he muttered.
"Don't be smug. Now get back under these covers and kiss my butt"

I was really not expecting to be wowed to the extent that I was. What with all the hype that this series got, that was definitely one of the reasons why I kept pushing it back on my reading schedule. Of course with the movie coming out, I had to read it.
My thoughts on how great it was can be summarized in one sentence: "This book took over my life until it literally hurt to put it down!" Damn work for getting in the way, and interactions with people where cut back to a minimum. I just had to read this in every spare second that I could! Such an amazing and original story, I am hooked and I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the trilogy. I am ready for the emotions to come out now.(less)

WOW! This is the book of unexpected events. DELAYED PENALTY had a lot of twists and took me on an emotional rollercoaster. Anytime we deal with damaged characters you know it’ll be an emotionally draining story, but surprisingly, I didn’t get that much angst because of Akira. There was so much more to this story. I think the author does a stellar job with giving us everything we want from our main characters, while expanding on quite a few of our old favorites and intriguing us in the future of the series. I’m totally hooked!
First of all, there’s Akira, Ford and Cort. I was so scared about this combination because I’ll be honest I haven’t been a Ford fan. But Akira has really come out of her shell and there’s a lot about Ford that we didn’t see before. He truly cares for her! Then there’s Ford’s relationship with Cort. They’re both so intense. Their life-long friendship between them makes them work that much better. I think they were a great pairing, full of intensity but also tenderness.
But as much as I enjoyed their story, I was a sucker for two of the side stories. Vanek is a train wreck. And a train wreck I need to see more of. Desperately. Throwing Raif in that mix left me wanting more.
Then there’s Landon/Dean/Silver. I was troubled with how things were with them in the previous book and this is the story that brings them back together. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THAT! But it’s also the story that takes their relationship to another level. I am so excited about that I have to confess I may have re-read those scenes.
But this book isn’t all roses. I won’t tell you in detail what happens, but we do lose someone. And yes, it’s hard and it’s felt throughout the team. I was so shocked about the turn of events. I do find that storyline in the end closes the chapter of the ongoing bad guy we’ve had in the series. I am actually excited to see where the series continues from here and I’m very anxious to get more Vanek. Like….yesterday!

Can't wait to finish reading the last book!!! (less)

I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! What can I say! I love Devyn's character. He's sexy, he's sweet, he's funny, he's hot, he's self-centered, and he thinks he's God's gift to women... And I've been waiting for his book since he showed up in this series in book 2.
I really enjoyed this story, so far my favorite in the series, but they get better with each book. I definetely recommend the Alien Huntress series to everyone. The alien angle is done perfectly, and it's a great and different take on paranormal romance.
Devyn is actually paired with "Bride", a vampire living on the surface, who doesn't know any other vampires, and has much to learn about her own culture and world. She's actually pretty likeable and kick ass. She's had to basically survive on her own, with only one friend, her shapeshifter friend, Aleaha.
Bride has been having problems feeding, or keeping blood down. In her search for Aleaha she finds Devyn. And for the love of everything that's holy he cannot understand why she doesn't fall at his feet drooling and wanting him. But the attraction is there from the first moment.
Devyn will come to teach her many things about her race, as well as risking his own life to take her underground to find out who she really is.
I loved the part where Bride goes into McKell's room and Devyn ends up following her and having sex, all the while Devyn knowing that McKell can hear them! Mean... so mean! LOL
I also thought it was soooo cute the friendship and bond that has developed between Devyn and Dallas. They are BFFs!! And Devyn is loyal to his BFFs!
"I'm very good at math. Example: Devyn plus Bride minus clothes plus a hard, flat surface multiplied by roaming hands equals greatest pleasure ever. When shall we begin?"
This is a must read! And I can't wait to read more about the vampire world in the next book. Also, I can't wait to read Dallas's book, it all sounded VERY interesting in this one, and he's been one of my favorite characters from the beginning.(less)
