Cat and Bones have been legendary. They’ve been very much a part of most paranormal readers hearts for the last ten years. We’ve been through the ups and downs with them, and quite frankly I could read about them forever. When Jeaniene Frost announced this would be the end of the series, I was both disappointed and happy. Happy because for once, an author does right by her readers and decides this is where the story should end. Instead of giving us a filler book and a washed out version of her vision she gave us UP FROM THE GRAVE, which might just be the best possible closure to the Cat and Bones saga!
Bones is as usual a ruthless vampire, protective of his mate. He truly is prepared to do anything for her and to keep her safe! You might crush on him a bit more than you were already. Cat had gotten a bit whiny lately for me but in this book she put her big girl panties on and kicked ass like it was book 1 all over again, adding to that a huge dose of confidence she didn’t have then. And the rest of the cast had an important presence as well. I loved every minute, every second, every page. The chemistry between Cat and Bones has changed so much and come so far. It was like seeing an old married couple (in a good way!), still very much in love, full of passion and heart. I loved how comfortable they are with each other and how much they’ve grown, together and apart.
This book was full of surprises! Once the action kicked into gear, there was no stopping the force with which it moved ahead. It was riveting and I NEEDED to keep reading every second I could. Until it hurt to continue. Until my vision blurred and my heart broke. This book definitely packs an emotional punch. And kicks ass all the same, it’s the most action packed I’ve seen the Night Huntress series in a while!
There’s not one thing wrong about this book. The storyline is unique and interesting. It brings into play old and new players. Tying up any lose ends that could be hanging around, and giving us just a taste of what their Ever After will be. But be warned and prepared, this will probably rip your heart out and stomp on it a bit before putting it back together. I laughed, I swooned, I cried, then I cried HARD. UP FROM THE GRAVE will leave you with a bittersweet smile on your face and a sense of satisfaction. I hate to see them go, but they’re going happy and how they deserved. Loved by many. Congratulations Ms. Frost. This book was better than I ever imagined it could be.
If I could only have one request now would be to see more Ian!
The time has finally come to reveal who the killer is! You can expect If You Know Her to be a nail-biting, edge-of-seat and very sexy read!
This series has a great cast of characters. I can't say there's one that I didn't like, but Nia and Law are MY FAVORITE! They're perfect for each other.
I've liked Law since book one, he's the perfect friend and support for every female in this series. While during book one he was in love with Lena, he was also the best friend she had and the one person she relied on for everything. During book two we see that he's been such a rock for Hope, helping her get out of a bad relationship and giving her the opportunity to start over. So I couldn't help but want to see him finally be happy, with a girl that wanted him. And that was Nia Hollister.
I like that she's not a girly girl, she's very strong and independent and a bit of a badass. I mean she rides a bike, wears leather and has a gun! My kind of girl. I thought from their first meeting in book two that they were explosive together and I can say they didn't disappoint me! At all!
Now onto the suspense. This series has a great storyline and it's full of suspense. This book was excellent, even got me a bit scared to keep reading at times! I started off with a suspect in mind (having gone through a long list of possibilities throughout the series) and I was shocked (and not) when the killer is finally revealed.
I will only say this. Trust your first instincts people! The killer is the person I thought and had as prime suspect in my head at the end of book one. And then I completely forgot about that. Sick, demented, totally unstable. When the backstory got revealed I was shocked at the depth the issues the killer had went.
An amazing ending to the series and job well done for Ms. Walker! This series is a must read for anyone who likes a mystery, suspense and plenty of sexy with all that.

Oh Garreth please throw me over your big strong lykae shoulders and take me away... to a cave... preferrably with a not-so-steady-rock we can break together!
I knew when I read Lachlain's book that I would LOVE Garreth, and it's official now. GARRETH IS MY LYKAE! He's just raw power and sensuality, with the perfect mix of emotions. He cares deeply for his mate who has given him nothing but heartache and, in more than one occassion, physical pain. And he still wants her, has crossed the world and faced all kinds of obstacles to get to her and have her! His determination is admirable, his curiosity is endearing, he's charming and hot and understanding, and.... did I already mention how perfect he is??? You just want to pet him!!!!
She'd been born for him. And I was born to find her.
Lucia is amazing as well. After having gone through a very traumatic experience while still being a child, she has lived milleniums after pretty much repressed and alone and in fear. Except for the past year she's actually wanted something... or more accurately, someone. Garreth. She can't get him out of her mind, even though she knows she can't have him.
And then Nix comes in and throws the whole story up in the air and as always by making a mess of things she manages to get these two finally together.
I loved the text messaging between Regin and Lucia. I loved Nix's phone conversations and reference to her missing post-it notes! There was also quite a bit of action in this book, some giant caimans, a ghost ship in the Amazon, and lots of hot.wet.half-naked lykae! The next book has been set up really well. We get glimpses of all the kidnapping going on in the Lore, and I have to say... I can't wait to read about Carrow! Love her already!
"Understand me, MacRieve, I'm a Valkyrie. I'm not bound by your... animalistic needs." His voice a low rasp, he said, "After one night with me, Lousha, you will be."
"RegRad: gettng tranqued 2nite with the witches. Bet u wish u were here! LOSER!"
"Fine. We can act like we're fuckups idling about. As per our usual. But if we cap a god, I'm telling everyone I know! Two words: Press. Conference." "Lykae in our backyard. Horde vampires seeking out valkyries all over the world. Happy accession!"(less)

WOW I may need some time to collect my thoughts on this one, I was left completely speechless. This book is awesome!!!! Forget about putting a label on this of contemporary romance, erotica, gay romance, it is just a beautiful, real, gritty, emotional, raw love story. It completely captivated me from the beginning and I literally couldn't put it down. To the point that I was late to my boyfriends birthday and almost missed the first half of a Broadway show we had tickets for. THAT GOOD! AMAZING!!! LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT!!!!
The general idea of the story, without giving too much away, is two NYC firefighters that have been friends their whole lives. Griff the big irish one, and Dante the pretty boy and cocky italian one. They've been through everything together. But somehow Griffin starts wanting more than just friendship and he doesn't know how to deal with those feelings or what to do about them.
Their friendship, their connection and love for each other was present at all times in this book. In my eyes there couldn't be anyone more perfect for the other. The issues they face are real, from being a firefighter, to being straight men and now finding that they are in love with a man and how society deals with that.
This book will bring tears to your eyes, especially after knowing the back story of this couple and how this book came to be, as this is a real life story that didn't have a HEA. Emotional and moving and quite frankly very HOT! Yes, of course, I couldn't leave that out now could I? There's some extremely hot firefighter sex, raw, intense, full of emotion. Just...WOW...*fans self* A.MA.ZING!!! I'd love to see the video of that! ;)
I am dying now for the next book which is Tommy's story. We saw a bit of him in this book and the issues he's been dealing with and I am ready to see him get a HEA, I'm rooting for him, he deserves it, and I know he'll also have a HOT as HELL book!

There are always books or authors that will ruin you for all others. L.H. Cosway truly has a gift for writing compelling characters and unique stories. With every book I read by her I realize more and more that she is quite simply one of my favorite authors! And she has ruined me for all others. Especially with her stellar heroes that make my heart skip a beat and my panties melt away when they get all possessive and alpha (or just when they breathe) and her heroines that just make me want to go out with them for a drink and make them my BFF.
SIX OF HEARTS is compelling, funny and entertaining, deep and emotional and on fire hot! I’ve fallen hard for Jay Fields and want to keep him locked up in my basement of book boyfriends. You need to meet him and fall in love with him as well. Jay Fields is charismatic, sexy, with a dash of arrogance and a heart of gold.
I don’t want to give too much away from the story but what you need to know is that Jay is an illusionist. Or read magician. Very much like Criss Angel (profession, not the looks). He’s seeking revenge from a childhood gone wrong and he’s seeking love. One of the best friends to lovers stories I’ve read in a while. I loved everything about their developing relationship.
I was completely enraptured from the very first page. Jay and Matilda’s quirky personalities that work so well together. Their sexual chemistry and the sexual tension in the beginning that was revving up all my buttons. And when they finally get together *mind blown with excitement*. Try not to salivate on your e-reader.
If you only have time to read one book this week or this month or whenever really… This is it! It’s funny that when I love a book so much there’s hardly that much to say. But really, it can all be summarized with “You have to read this, because this book is amazing!” End of story. I may want to re-read it now after I finished writing this because I want to experience it all over again!
“You’re lucky you got away with a quickie. I have a good mind to make sure you can’t walk straight in the morning.”
“Isn’t it more exciting not knowing, just letting the possibilities be endless?”
“On the contrary, my apple loves to be eaten. In fact, my apple is a little cranky right now because she hasn’t been eaten in a while.”

Spence is hot. And when he has to go work with special agent Shadoe, then things get hotter. Of course both of them are reluctant to act on that attraction because they are on a case and they should keep their focus on the job, but the sparks are hard to put out.
So why do I think this book has just about every checkmark on my list of sexiness must-reads? Bad boy biker, check. Part of a badass government organization, check. Sexy and badass chick, check. Sexy setting, check (A strip club in New Orleans). Did I make my case yet?
Spence is very alpha and intense. Shadoe is out to prove she can play with the big boys. They both have tough pasts and ultimately that helps cement a stronger bond than any physical attraction. They are a perfect fit, in and out of the bedroom.
The storyline is fast paced and action packed, while Shadoe and Spence are set to bring down a corrupt DEA Agent. Shadoe plays the part of a stripper and Spence is her boyfriend/bodyguard so they can both be in the thick of the action and get the clues they need.
Loved these two together, maybe my favorite couple so far. Definitely steamy and very well developed and likeable characters.
"You heard me." He pulled the chair around and sat in it. "I'm a paying customer. Strip for me." Spence's gaze followed her, and she teased him with a roll of her hip near his shoulder, barely grazing him. Emboldened by the sudden flash of heat in his eyes, she took it further, dragging the hem of her T-shirt up, baring the skin of her belly.

Immortal Rider will take you on a paranormal ride from beginning to end. The action, the scheming with just the right amount of romance. You will not be bored with all the different things waiting for you in the Horsemen world.
I have a confession to make, though. Even though I love Larissa Ione and Demonica was one of my favorite series, Lords of Deliverance didn't start out with a bang for me. I was not too thrilled with Eternal Rider. It was just ok, even though the storyline was great I felt it didn't live up to the potential.
Immortal Rider however is a completely different story. This book grabbed my attention from the first page and, for the most part, had me glued until the end. This is the Larissa Ione we've come to know and love, action-packed, full of sizzling chemistry, with a drool-worthy alpha male and a kick-ass heroine.
Maybe liking this book so much for me might have something to do with the fact that I've liked Arik since we first met him in the Demonica series, or maybe is just the fact that Limos is one of my favorite Ione heroines, she's girly and fun and vulnerable; but she can put you on your ass without blinking. Can you tell I have a preference for the tough, kick-ass chicks?
This book was full of unexpected twists, betrayals, lies, some truths and more lies, along with the consequences all that lying cost everyone. Limos has a lot of skeletons in her closet that slowly come out and it's thanks to Arik's strength that she can face them. He was her rock throughout some tough moments and I liked that he stood by her even when faced with issues that would've made a lesser man turn his back on her. He never took the easy way out.
As a couple they complemented each other perfectly. I admit I might've shed a tear or two towards the end. Ms. Ione is usually known for some creative sexual scenes, but this book had very little of that. However, it worked for the story and what we did get was great!
Reseph/Pestilence is still causing mayhem, but I'm starting to feel there might be hope for him still. For all the Reaver fans, we do get to see him and maybe a developing storyline for future books. The Seminus brothers all make their cameo appearances, as usual so cute. And Kynan continues to play a big role as head of the Aegis, but will we ever see Gem?
My favorite part of the book was, well, the imminent apocalypse! Wow! I am amazed by how this story is developing with so many unexpected twists. I am just so excited for the next book because it'll be completely different than the first two. Sometimes things are just lost in translation and I can't wait to see how Thanatos' story will play out.

He's arrogant, self-centered, selfish, powerful, driven, egotistical, ruthless. He wouldn't stop at anything to get what he wants. His only fear is betrayal. Betrayal by the ones he cares about, which is why he stopped letting people close.
Ohh but how I've loved his badass self throughout this series and this book was off-the-charts amazing. Completely different than a lot of the books in this series, this author never ceases to amaze me. She can create a completely different story every single time.
He's known his bride was Elizabeth since she was nothing but a human teenager. A mountain redneck human teenager, with no class and very little education at that. He never thought he could be paired with one such as her. Until Saroya possesses Ellie's body. That must be his bride. Fit to rule alongside him when he recovers his kingdoms! To free Saroya, he must destroy Ellie's soul. But he can't do that without La Doradas' ring. RRIIINNNNGGGGGGGG
I'm not telling you what happens, all I want to say is this: Lothaire is one bad, ruthless vampire, but he will make your body shudder and your girly bits quiver! He is so sexy! So in charge and in control! Ellie is very sweet and maybe just the right personality for him, and definitely the right species to bring him down a notch.
They've both been through so much but there were times when my heart would break for Lothaire, what he has suffered, why he is the way he is. And the moment he realizes that others have tried to help him and have been there for him is priceless.
And how can we forget the valkyries, crazy as always, love them. Best of all Nix. She has her lucid moments and her crazy ones, but when the haze in her head has to clear she manages to show us a bit more of her true self in this book. And all the new characters? Ohh the possibilities!
And the last thing I just have to say... if you've never listened to an audiobook, do yourself a favor and get this one. Robert Petkoff brings Lothaire to life, with a perfect and very sexy accent, and enough emotion in telling this story that I felt I was actually watching it play out in front of me.
In case all that was too much to decipher: I.L.O.V.E.D.T.H.I.S.B.O.O.K.(less)

I will confess I've had a crush on Tyler for years. From the moment he showed his face as the sexy and carefree bouncer at Alyssa's strip club he had my full attention. Even though he was not lucky to get the girl he "apparently" wanted. See I thought all along that was me.
"Welcome to the real me. When you were married to Eric, you saw the pal, the prankster. You saw the guy who didn't take much seriously because I didn't have anything to be serious about. I still want to have fun, but when it comes to you, I'm serious as a fucking heart attack."
*THUD* Ms. Black gave Tyler a perfect story! MINE TO HOLD was everything I expected for him and then some. The story was romantic, suspenseful, action-packed...climaxed-packed....Is that even a word? It should be and if it isn't then Tyler invented it. I might've renamed him Tyler "Mr. 5+ Orgasm" Murphy.
Tyler wasn't about to slow down. Her orgasm didn't pacify him at all. If anything, it revved him up more... "Again," he demanded.
In his life back in LA, Tyler had a best friend and partner, Eric. Things happened and Eric one drunk night asked Tyler to have sex with his wife while he watched. And see, Tyler had been sort of falling in love with Delaney for a while now. He latched on that one opportunity he would have to have her. And he gave it his all. He wanted to crawl inside of her. And somehow all that emotion showed and his buddy threw him out. Now almost two years later, Delaney shows up in Lafayette, on his doorstep, needing his help and oh.. by the way, they have a baby together!
As a journalist who is trying to get that big story to start her career she stumbled across some corrupt politician who now wants to silence her. The only way she can save herself and her baby is by getting the proof she needs to expose him. And Tyler won't let her go back to LA alone.
Tyler is as take charge as I expected him to be, very alpha. But he also shows that he trusts Del and gives her the space she needs to feel independent and get her job done. But never without help and protection. Thank God a heroine with common sense! I really liked Delaney!
I was expecting a little something extra with these two which never came. After Tyler has been around all his BDSM, menagerie and kinky fuckery I was a surprised when he was pretty much vanilla...very, very good vanilla though. Maybe with some chocolate swirls. I guess I shouldn't complain about Mr. 5+ Orgasm Murphy. And the other thing I was a bit upset at him for was how easy he disappeared from Delaney's life. Yeah, I know she was married to his best friend, but he should've at least stuck around for a bit if he had those feelings for her instead of running.
Onto the rest of the crew. There was a good amount of all our favorite characters from the series, past and future. Jack and Deke and Luc and their wives. Seems like everyone has babies running around, that just makes me so happy!
But I was especially happy to see a lot of Xander. Ah yes, I can't wait for his book. He's a playboy, he thinks he's all tough and I can't wait to see the woman that will bring him to his knees. Or the other way around. I don't mind volunteering. Don't worry Logan, you are still number one in my heart.
"It's always you for me. From the first minute I touched you, it was always you. Every other day and every other minute, I was marking time. No one else ever meant a damn thing. But you haunted me. The moment you knocked on my door in Lafayette, you sealed your fate. There's no way I'm letting you get away from me."
MINE TO HOLD was romantic and sweet, while having a great plot and steaming up the pages. Shayla does it again!
Five things to do when you finish a Wicked Lovers book: *Cry and scream inconsolably because this story is over. *Cry and scream inconsolably because you have to wait another year for the next book. *Start writing a hate email about having to wait a year for the next book *Delete said email and write a really fangirlish letter to the author telling her how much you love her *Try to convince her that I would make the perfect heroine for Xander's book.

It is sad to see a series that I love come to an end but it's also refreshing to see one ending on such a high note. Oftentimes series just start falling on the quality and originality of the books but Women of the Otherworld has always either kept steady or improved. And THIRTEEN is one of the best books in the series! A truly perfect grand finale. And all I can do is applaud Ms. Armstrong for a job well done and now go cry in a corner because I won't get to see some of my favorite characters again.
THIRTEEN picks up right where SPELLBOUND left off, pretty much to the minute. As you could expect all hell breaks loose in this book, literally and figuratively. All I will tell you about the story is prepare for non-stop action and awesomesauce! At times it's even gruesome and not made to look pretty. It gets dirty and bloody and raw.
Speaking of raw, I will take this opportunity to thank Ms. Armstrong for NOT tearing my heart out at the end. I cried for about five minutes fearing for things to come. I get emotional just thinking about it now. So thank you. When you read the book you will understand.
Savannah is the main focus of this story. She does finally get the guy. I've always loved her character, she's tough, she's fierce, one of my favorite narrators. And she gets so much closure in this book as well as a completely new beginning. We've seen her mature so much throughout this series and really grow into her powers. Adam is the perfect complement for her. Although I have to say that I thought I missed something when Adam and Savannah finally got together and then all of a sudden they were waking up. I don't think I was expecting Clay/Elena raw sex against a tree or anything, but I don't understand how come Savannah and Adam are the only couple that we didn't get even a paragraph past the kissing and clothes flying.
Then we have the cast of the series. I'm going to cry. They were all here, just as we love them. Clay, Elena, Jeremy, Jaime, Hope, Karl, Paige, Lucas, Eve, Kristoff, Cassandra, Aaron, Benicio, Sean *they all take a bow* And even some that I didn't expect to ever see again, and I won't tell you who they are. We get to read this book from many of their points of view, not only Savannah, which was great in tying things for each of their stories.
It has been a magical ride into a world that I almost feel part of by reading this series. THIRTEEN was no different and gripped me from beginning to end. *The curtain falls on the last act*

We o...moreLover Reborn, in true JR Ward fashion, it's an emotional rollercoaster. It had me in tears pretty early on because there's just so much going on. We obviously have Tohr's past. He's still dealing, and not so well, with Wellsie's death. He is now facing Lassiter's purpose for being there, which is to free Wellsie's and his son's souls from the In Between so they can go on to the Fade. He's been holding them back. Not an easy weight to put on his shoulders.
Now his only hope to help them might be No'One. If he can give himself to another female, that might help them. Their relationship builds up gradually but Wellsie was always a big, ever-present part of their dynamics together. This was good and bad in my opinion, but it's the only way their story could've gone.
Tohr is just such a wonderful male, he's been beaten down by life just too many times and I'm really happy that things can look up for him and that he finally got his HEA.
No'One on the other hand was a very bland heroine for my taste. She had a lot of things to work out herself, but her personality was non existent for most of the book. Another thing that was developed off page was her relationship building with Xhex. I think I would've liked to see them come to terms as mother/daughter more.
Let me talk about my least favorite part of the book, and it's something a lot of you enjoy but I can't get into. The Bastards!! I find their bits quite boring, even though they are a much more interesting set of villains than the lessers we are used to. I could've used with less B.o.B. in this book. However, there are some interesting dynamics developing here and Xcor and Throe might be pining for the same woman. I will leave it at that.
Oh no wait! They're not my least favorite part. My least favorite part of this book was LAYLA!!! I want to murder the bitch.
Then we come to my favorite parts of this book. John Matthew and Xhex. You might known they are my favorite couple and JM just sweeps me off my feet more and more with each book, truly cementing himself as the ultimate male for me. In this book he is struggling with letting Xhex fight and put herself in danger, at the same time Xhex is going back to her old kick ass self. So their relationship takes a major hit. But I loved every bit of the suffering along with them. I am very happy to see Xhex back to her own self and JM recognizing who she is. She's always been my favorite because she is not the wilting flower that some of the others are. She tough, she can face down the bad guys and for has the ability to come out on top. And this book gives us that Xhex back. And is it biased to say I enjoyed their sex scenes best in this book???? *sigh*
And honorable mention goes out Lassiter. He was a stellar character in this book, plays a major role and he is just a lot of fun!
And then there's Qhuay. This book doesn't have a lot about them, but what happens that does involved them is heartbreaking. I don't think my poor beaten heart can take much more of this. They need their story NOW!!!! I think my head might explode if they don't get it next.
I did have a lot of quotes I marked on this book so here's some:
Then again, what could you call somebody who had been abducted by a symphath, violently forced to conceive, and then trapped by biology to bear the result of the torture? First and last name: I and Sorry. Middle name: Am.
John’s head cranked over, and he started to mouth, I love her so much. I’d die if anything happened to h— When he stopped short, Tohr took a deep breath through the pain in his chest. “I know. Trust me … I know.”
Life’s meant to be lived blind—that’s how you don’t take shit for granted.
“Free will is what it is. And palms, motherfucker? If you don’t mind.”
“You ever barbecue with that thing?” “Only lessers—and they ain’t good eatin’."
Rising up onto her tiptoes, she pressed her lips to his and spoke three words he hadn’t expected to hear again anytime soon. “I love you.” She kissed him again. “I love you so much, my hellren."
“Just as the seasons come full circle, so have we. When we first crossed paths, it was all about me, my selfishness, my focus on a tragedy I had lived through. This time it was all about you, your selfishness, your tragedy that you had lived through.”
How do you like your heroes? Tall, muscled, strong, tortured, tattooed, oh-so-sexy, with golden eyes and . . .dimples! Is that close? Well then, meet Hector Dean. I mean, just take a look at the cover. He is edible!! And to make the cover justice, the man you will meet in the book is a fantasy come to life!
This book backtracks in the storyline to when Noelle and Ava go into the AIR agent training. And really, how can they be expected to concentrate on training when you have Dallas and Hector as your instructors? The connection is instant between Hector and Noelle but there are so many layers to their relationship that need to be peeled back from there. And it’s a lot of fun to see it happen.
Hectors past was very hard, and his present is a major thing to deal with. Although he is human, his arms heat up and can burn through even metal when he gets aroused, angry, or any strong emotion. Great in a fight, not so great around a girl. But he is intense!!! Hot in more ways than one!! I wouldn’t mind going up in flames with him. . . At all. . . He’s worth it!
And then there’s Noelle. She is my favorite heroine in this series. She can be funny, snarky, a bit spoiled. But she hides behind a mask and inside there’s a girl who has never been good enough for anyone, not her family, not her boyfriends. The only constant in her life is her friendship with Ava. Their loyalty to each other is amazing! But now she is getting married. I loved seeing their friendly interactions, her sadness at losing her friend or so she thought. They are hilarious together, they get each other in all their quirkiness.
But Hector sees through Noelle’s act as well. He knows there’s more to her than she lets on. And when Noelle really starts pushing the boundaries of their relationship, well I just love how he gives in to his desires and passions 100% and as much as he can. Even though he fights going further.
We revisit the alien trafficking storyline in this book instead of the Schon queen. She was completely absent here and I just wonder what happened with her. We do get somewhat of an answer to Dallas vision but there is still an open question about it at the end. I think I just heard Dallas saying he is ready to have his book written. And since I’m on the Dallas subject. . . He is so cute, trying to put his "best moves" on Noelle. It was hysterical. I gotta admit I’m jealous though!! I want to be Dallas' pretzel!
And just as we had best friends forever Ava and Noelle, we also see a small glimpse of my favorite bromance: Devyn and Dallas. I’m soooo on Brides side when Devyn mentioned that she wanted them to kiss like Noelle and Ava had done. *purrrrr*
Pretty much the whole cast shows up in this book. We also see Jaxon and Mia as well as McKell obviously. Together, AIR solves a case of missing girls aaaaaaannnnmnnd in the process a blast from the past character reappears! No, can’t tell you who it is. You’ll have to read to find out. But I’m sure this will play a big role in future books.
So what are you waiting for? Pick up this book, or if you haven’t yet, start this series!! You know you want to see Hector burn holes in brick walls, burn through gloves and burn down a house!!!!
Favorite Quotes: Speaking of funny looks. "Did you see the way that Hector guy eyed me up and down, as if I belonged in a scientific studies magazine for newly discovered fungus?" "Yeah, but did you see his muscles?" "How could I miss them? His I've-tasted-human-heart-and-liked-it black T-shirt was strained to the point of lunacy." "Vocab lesson time. You mean lewdness. As in, indecent."
"Graduate Camp Hellhole - check," Noelle muttered. "Hired by AIR - check. Complete my first mission successfully - check. Kick Hector's ass at a foot race - check. Lose my best friend - check, check, fucking check, and scribble and crumble the notepad and slam it into the trash."
The T-shirt was a gift from Ava and read Good Girls Need Spankings Too.
"Hey!" Dallas frowned at him. "When I tell you something's a secret, and you tell me that secret is locked in the vault, you aren't supposed to blab about it." Devyn blew him a kiss. "How was I supposed to know Hector would have the key to my vault."(less)

He's a, a good time cowboy casanova leaning up against the record machine.... Oh sorry got distracted. But he IS a good time bad boy cowboy casanova leaning up against the bar looking sexy. *sigh* Ben McKay the things you do to me! First order of business, make sure you have the following things with you or handy before and while reading this book:
* A few changes of panties * Your favorite BOB or significant other * A glass of cold water, or an ice pack will do too.
Why, you ask? Because this book is HAWT! Ben McKay is such a naughty, naughty boy. Ms James has combined two of my favorite things, a hot cowboy and an alpha Dom. He just makes me purr. Whether it's tied to a bench, to the bed, to the bar or even a pool table.
Ben has always been the quiet one, but what we never got to see before was how out of place he felt in his own family. Finding his sexual preferences and staying true to that has really made him feel whole and it's not something he would ever give up.
Then he meets Ainsley at the Rawhide Club. She's pretending to be a female Dom so he makes her an offer: he'll be her sub for one night if he can Dom her for another night. Is that making you tingle yet?
But what a small world, Ainsley turns out to be the president of a new bank coming into Sundance, and Ben just happens to run into her and they make another deal. She'll be his sub for a month to try out the lifestyle.
What starts out as a fun experiment for both turns into deeper feelings. And whether they are sneaking around or being open about how they feel, these two have undeniable chemistry! Bennett can get to a part of Ainsley that she didn't think she had in her. And she gives him everything he thought he could never hope to have in a woman.
We see a little of the McKay clan but just in a small part. And I have to bring up the elephant in the room: The McKays can be money hungry asswipes sometimes, so I'm a bit disappointed with the turn of events in this book about a certain McKay. I hope in the next book he'll redeem himself in my eyes.
Gavin is also starting to be part of the family just a bit, and I really can't wait to read his story. And will he ask Ben for some love advice?
So read it, enjoy it, savor it. We won't get another rough ride for a while but this one was amazing!

The third book in the Turner series features Smite. He's not the rake, but not the virgin either. What he is is a strict, cold, very serious lawman. I mean, his nickname is Lord Justice which he got because they tease him about being married to Lady Justice!
He's gone through a very traumatic childhood and, much like Mark, his mother truly left her mark on him. The events have traumatized him in many ways and they are the reason why he is the way he is today.
So when he meets Miranda, a girl from the wrong side of town, who's been working for The Patron doing some less than legal activities, it's a wonder that he wants to be with her. But what he offers her is a deal. She will be his mistress for a month, he will put her in a nice house and pay her for her services.
As much as Miranda would have never considered something like that before, the fact that she does have an attraction to Smite, and that the money would buy her a new life, she accepts. Even though she is a virgin herself.
But shortly into their affair her past comes calling. The Patron wants her back and will do and threaten whomever to get that.
I was enamored with Smite, his sentimentality quota, his stern ways, and his sweet and thoughtful moments. He showed he cared for Miranda from day one and he was not afraid to show that even in public. He wasn't hiding her and he stood up to others for her more than once.
The Turners just can't find love in all the normal places but they've all delivered great stories, and the writing by Ms. Milan is smooth and very easy to read. This one had me glued to the pages! (less)
