I felt like a little kid opening this book, I was so excited. Don’t you love it when there’s that one couple you’ve been wanting to see together and then it’s finally that time. I might’ve done a happy dance when I read the blurb for this book! I’ve waiting, literally, since book one! Starving for any second of interactions between Noelle and Jim. Trying to put out of my mind the fact that she was playing around with someone else. These two just HAD to happen. But then there’s the nervous side of me that was sooooo worried about my expectations. Too high? Would it disappoint me?
MIDNIGHT ACTION is my favorite book in this series to date and it exceeded all my expectations! It delivered on everything I knew was there and everything I had no clue could be. What an incredibly deep and emotional book. Just as it’s action packed, with an intriguing storyline that will keep you on your toes, this book was a heart breaking emotional journey through Noelle and Jim’s past. Neither one of those stories was easy. And the author did an amazing job at telling the story in flashbacks that blended perfectly with the current plot.
utc-top-pickDid I mention how much chemistry Noelle and Jim have always had? I think if they are in the room together, their sparks would burn you. But their history has brought them to a place of hate. And that hate runs deep. And is there ever anything better than straight up, angry, hateful f*cking? Gosh I feel like I need a cigarette (or two) after that….and I don’t smoke! This book embodied raw sexual chemistry and then took it up a few notches. Be careful when handling it, because you might get scorched!
I know I always focus on the alpha male, and yes Jim Morgan is THAT alpha male you want. But I think more impressive for me was Noelle. I’ve always loved her character because she’s kick ass and ruthless. Don’t mess with her because she may not have a heart left. And I was moved by her story. She’s gone through so much betrayal in her life that I understand where she’s been coming from. And I’m happy that she’s gotten her HEA.
With the side stories in this book, I can say I’m so excited for two of them! Liam&Sully (yes, this book had some minor m/m) and Sean&Bailey. I’m especially anxious for Sean & Bailey and I know it’s next. I think Sean better watch his balls from now!
If you are looking for an edge of your seat romantic suspense series to read, but you also wants lots of steam, then this is it for you. The Killer Instincts series is all about alpha males, kick ass women and the adrenaline filled lives they lead.

In the Company of Killers is exactly the type of series that it sounds like. It’s dark and will test your comfort zones. In REVIVING IZABEL I feel we went deeper into stretching my comfort levels. Our heroine, Sarai, is supposed to be living an unassuming life away from the dangers of Victor’s lifestyle. And away from her past. But she can’t leave well enough alone. She wants vengeance.
So Sarai will become Izabel again. Where Sarai is a sweet normal girl, Izabel is daring and… a wannabe killer. I was both attracted by this new tougher version of her, just as much as I was disturbed by some of her way of thinking. The fact that she wants Victor is one thing, even the fact that she would just accept what his job is, but the fact that she wants to be like him really pushed my limits. I didn’t know how to feel at times with that.
This story is definitely darker and edgier, while still being sexy and stimulating. Victor opens up and softens a bit, showing his love for Izabel. So as she toughens up, he softens. I guess you could say they meet in a happy medium. I still think I liked the first book better than this one, even though this was a good story.
The hero for the next book is set up in this one and I’m intrigued. Can’t say I’m excited and highly anticipating it. But it should be interesting.

Sometimes when you don't have expectations you are pleasantly surprised. Isn't that always a treat? This book is very unique and the world building is amazing! It didn't suffer from first-book-in-series syndrome, which is already a great thing in itself.
So the shaede can basically melt into the shadows at night, perfect talent to have for an assassin, and a talent that Darian has used for a long time to her benefit in her career. She can pretty much kill anyone but when her, would you call him boss?, Tyler gives her an assignment everything she's believed up to now will be questioned.
See she's hired to kill another shaede. Up until now she thought she was the only one of her kind because that's what her maker wanted her to believe. But as it turns out there's a lot more than just that she didn't know and it's time for her to play her role in the supernatural world.
I know for some people Darian was not the most likeable heroine but I actually liked her! Poor girl had gone through quite a rough childhood and marriage before Azriel finds her and turns her into a shaede. For years all she knew was him and then he disappears. And she's had to live with the knowledge that the man she loved was dead and that she was truly alone in the world with no one of her kind around. So I felt her pain. I thought she had the right amount of kick ass mixed in with vulnerability. And to me she didn't come across as cocky, which is hard to manage just right.
Then there's Tyler. Intriguing and sexy. She's always thought he was her boss, her human boss. But there's so much more to him and its time for him to show her they can be good together. If it takes another shaede coming in and trying to swoop on his girl for him to come out of the supernatural closet, then that's fine with me. I really liked Tyler, sneaky as he was. And speaking of sneaky people, I actually liked the Shaede King, Xander, as well. What a collection of great characters!
So as this story is basically in a big part Darian discovering the truth about the supernatural world while battling a big baddie I thought it was a great setup for the series while still delivering a very interesting story. I really can't wait to see where things will go from here!...more
I was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did, specially after the first book in the series was ok to me, but I loved this one. Where can II was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did, specially after the first book in the series was ok to me, but I loved this one. Where can I start, the characters were amazing. Eden Back is an otherworlder that has been raised on Earth. Her skin, eyes and hair are gold. And she's an assassin of otherworlder criminals. She is then partnered against her will with Lucius, a human very hot alpha male to kill her target EenLi, an otherworlder who is kidnapping human women (mostly) and auctioning them off as slaves to be taken to other planets. And on a side note, I liked Targon also in the end.
The actual story was very well put together, with lots of twists an turns, which I won't mention because I don't want to give anything away. As with the other book, we learn about different kinds of otherworlders, we get a lot of action, in a secret-agent kind of way, but I actually liked that this was not a member of AIR but an independent assassin mission, less bureaucracy.
And lets not forget that there's also romance in this book! Eden and Lucius chemistry was just explosive! *fans self* Just one word for it, HOT!...more

This is the last book in the Jaz Sparks series. Did it really take me 8 books to realize that yes, Jaz is crazy? LOL The woman not only hears voices in her head, but actually they play whole scenes for her and interact! But in this book, it worked for me. And they worked for her. Teen Me, Inner Bimbo and Granny May were all very much present, very funny and actually helpful!
On top of her own voices, she has Brude still trapped inside her head, literally, and now the time has come for her to banish him forever.
All the lose end stories come up in this book, and still manage to keep the storyline interesting, action packed and totally hysterical. Vayl has finally found his sons, even if not exactly in the way he had planned. He has to fight to not get killed by them and to save them. All the previous bad guys make an appearance in this book so we can finish them off. It was great!
As always I enjoy the humor that's always mixed in with this series. Bergman grows a pair so on top of being the smartest, most creative and funniest guy around, he actually helps save the day! So proud of him. Cole and his usual humor at the most inappropriate times. And I love the pets (mascots?) robokitty (Astral) and Jack!
This was a very good ending to the story, it cements the relationship between Vayl and Jaz as strong and everlasting, it answers all the questions you could've had and it gives you some unexpected surprises in the end. ...more

Which means he has no clue who anybody is, so he identifies them as the people that were around him at that time. They all have to play along, which turns out funny at times. But it's a very sad experience for Jaz.
After losing Matt she didn't want to feel alone again, but now she's lost Vayl. He won't remember who she is, misses her birthday and thinks she's his house maid Mrs. Bergia. And gets herself fired! More than once. And that she's married to Cole! Oh, and he thinks Miles is a girl! Ha!
Jaz picks up a stalker, Yousef! Funniest thing ever. The warlock Sterling, whom she's had issues with before working with Vayl, comes to help. Jaz's voices actually helped her through her difficult times, and were not giving me a headache trying to keep up.
There's a lot of twists to the story, specially at the end, they just kept coming. That part of the ending was my least favorite part of the book.
There's a really funny part where Miles has taken a few too many painkillers.
Definitely a great installment in this series!...more

Ahhhh My absolute favorite Sem brother! Lore is all tattooed and pierced and dangerous, and just sooo yummy!
The little bit we saw of him in the previous book led us to believe he was an assassin, but forced into that situation, somewhat of a slave to his Master, and in big part he's done this for his sister Sin.
After trying to make small attempts to connect with his Sem brothers, he is now put in a really bad spot. He's been assigned to kill Kynan. Except Kynan now has a sort of a guardian angel, the beautiful Idess.
But when Idess is then assigned as Lore's guardian as well, it can become a pretty difficult situation... which is why she has the bright idea of tying him to the bed! ;) What? Can't blame me if I think the girl has wonderful ideas!
While trying to protect both Kynan and Lore, she has a werewolf to protect as well, and that was Sin's target. Except Sin is almost successful with her kill, but by doing that she's unknowingly infected pretty much the whole species!
Lore is hot, Idess is one of my favorites in this series, I love the sweet names he calls her all the time (Cookie, Angel Cake, LOL) the Sem brothers are still around and fighting evil, the storyline is great, with constant new developments, and the next book was setup wonderfully.
"This remains between us, right?" "As long as you don't piss me off. You gonna piss me off?" "Every chance I get."
