As we slowly get to know the characters better in this second installment of the Every Part of You serial, I’m finding that I understand better some of the things I was questioning in the first part. Simone knows very well what she wants and goes after it, in a way, unapologetically. Elliott on the other hand is running away from who he is. And I can’t wait to figure out the reason why.
Being that this installment is only about 50 pages I wouldn’t want to ruin it by telling you what happens. Just know that things start off where they left off in the first one. They get better, they have set backs.
RESISTS ME gives us some answers and it definitely turns up the heat. But it also opens up this story to the more emotional and deep storyline I was expecting to see from Ms. Hart. There is no doubt Simone and Elliott can be explosive together, but also there’s no doubt there will still be a lot of demons to slay. I expect the rest of this story will be heat, healing and self realization. I cannot wait!
I do wish this installment would’ve ended in a more gripping cliffhanger, though. Yeah, I know. Crazy of me to ask.

Rule Breaker has been the reluctant breed. He swore he would never take a mate and run far away from Mating Heat as possible after seeing her mother dissected by scientists that were trying to understand that phenomena. He’s always extremely cautious when he’s around a female, and he’s been extra cautious around Gypsy. He’s known her since she was 15 and he rescued her from a Coyote Breed that almost raped and killed her, but who did take her brother’s life. He’s been secretly watching over her since.
I’ve had a fascination with Jonas’s men for a while. Probably because to work for that ruthless man you must be pretty damn kick ass yourself. And just as I enjoyed LAWE’S JUSTICE, I enjoyed RULE BREAKER quite well. I still don’t think this series has recaptured the interest that I had in the earlier books, but the stories are sort of more complex now and I think we finally got some answers (even if it felt in a rushed way) in RULE BREAKER.
As for his mate, Gypsy…Well she was just ok for me. I liked the fact that she was fierce enough to try and spy and gather info and do the things she was secretly doing while covering it up as being a party girl. Not a wilting flower for sure, but yet again, a virgin heroine by Ms. Leigh.
But when it comes to the sexual chemistry between Gypsy and Rule, well…. Lora Leigh can write a sex scene like no other! If you are looking for heat, then prepare to be burned because Rule and Gypsy are hot!
There are so many other elements to this story that were of interest to me though, the side characters especially. I kept wanting glances of Dog and… Dane. Dane, my love, you broke my heart. From what I’ve seen he’s not supposed to get his own book, but he needs an HEA. Please! And then there was a brief moment of Cassie and a different side of her life we don’t usually get to see. My heart broke for her as well and the life she’s had to lead.
When I talk about side characters I can’t leave out Gideon! Who he is, what he’s done. I can’t wait to delve deeper into all that and keep discovering new things about him.
This book filled with a lot of unnecessary information though. Things were dragged on and excessive detail was given were it wasn’t really needed. It might’ve been cut by at least a third and maintained the story going.
Although I don’t think this is the strongest book in the series, it was a great stepping stone for what’s to come and to close out some older chapters that have been lingering around for a bit too long. I’m actually excited to see what comes next.

BARE KNUCKLE marks the end of the Vegas Top Guns series. I have to admit I am sad to see it end. This is a smoking hot series and I’ve loved every second of it because it’s always new and over the top. It goes places where other erotic romances are scared to go sometimes.
Even though this installment is not as kinky as the past few books in the series, BARE KNUCKLE still holds a lot of appeal to me. I loved this particular kink! Eric “Kisser” is technically a voyeur and he expresses that by taking erotic pictures of women he’s been with, and some he hasn’t. Trish complements him perfectly because she’s an exhibitionist and revels in the fact that he’s taking pictures of video of her.
“Turn the viewfinder to me. I want to see the moment I swallow your come.”
Eric is just a bit uptight in this. He has recovered from his accident but he has a lot of hang ups. He has his scars and women are not flocking to him the way they used to before. His brother is in rehab and he’s back to moonlighting as a fighter to make extra money to pay for that. He immediately catches the attention of Trish, who is starting out as a ring girl. Trish has her own issues, coming from a broken family where her mother has always used her. She’s trying to make it in Vegas but after so many years, it’s not working out for her.
I really liked his intensity and all his leashed issues. He has such a good heart and at times doesn’t know how to handle those feelings and prefers to keep them bottled up. Trish on the other hand I wasn’t too sold on and I think my few issues with her were the reason why this wasn’t a 5 star read for me. She’s a bit too materialistic and self centered. I just didn’t agree with a lot of her reasoning. And there’s the fact that she threw in her ex-girlfriend in for a threesome that was really all about her. I wanted to see more of her taking care of Eric and including him, letting him in.
Still as hot as I’ve always expected from this series, BARE KNUCKLE will sizzle the panties right off of you!

Before I committed myself to reading this series earlier this year, I kept thinking that all the fangirl reviews were probably all hype. I mean, it’s not possible to gush over every single book and be so in love with a character, right? After experiencing the addiction, I can only just be one more of those fangirls. Squeeing and oohhhhhing and aahhhhhing.
Karina Halle gave us an amazing treat with COME ALIVE. For all of us starving Dex lovers, this was PERFECT! All Dex, all the time. I was on Dex overload. Well, actually not because there is no such thing. But experiencing this book from his perspective was different and amazing. I love being in his screwed up head!
As I’ve said time and time again, this series just gets better and better with each book and I really don’t know how Karina Halle does it. COME ALIVE tops all the others! While Dex & Perry are together, their relationship isn’t on solid ground. There are important reasons why they shouldn’t be together. And things are starting to be more about them, their powers and their mission than just about filming the show. But the show takes them to NOLA.
If there’s one thing that I’ve always enjoyed about this series is how Ms. Halle keeps things interesting by changing the big bad in each book. And in NOLA she does to zombies in her own creepy way mixed in with all the voodoo feel of the setting. Loved it!
I won’t give any spoilers but Dex & Perry have decisions to make about their future and about what’s to come in their relationship, if there is to be one. But they also have to know how to protect themselves to face their future, their fate.
Maximus comes back in this book, NOLA is his home front, and we find out more about his past and his love. I couldn’t help but sympathize. He added a great dynamic to the show though and I was happy that we got to see that side of him.
Oh and be warned! It is possible to fall in love with Dex even more. I just did! Now would it be really greedy to ask for a novella based on COME ALIVE from Perry’s POV? I need more. More! MORE!!!!! Never satisfied, even when I am.
“You’re my home, Perry. And I will be yours.”
…death by relaxation, preceded by death by pussy.
“What a bunch of fucked up, lovelorn, ghost-seeing shitburgers we are,” I said. Fuck. I needed to get out of the room before I started having my period.(less)

Eden is a farm girl who has moved to NY to follow her dream of becoming an actress. She’s been doing well at that, has a set of friends and her life is on track. Except she has the biggest crush on her sexy next door neighbor, Jay. Jay is a cop, all rough and rugged, and only sees her as a friend. Or so she thinks.
He usually rehearses scenes with her and her friends give her the bright idea to write her own script for him to rehearse with her and see what happens. And suddenly sweet, innocent Eden is not so sweet anymore.
Normally I don’t like the premise of the hero thinking that he’s doing what’s best for the heroine by staying away because she couldn’t handle his lifestyle. But for the 50 some pages it took for me to read this story, I didn’t care. It was done so perfectly!
Eden took charge of the situation and kept pushing all of Jay’s buttons to the point that he couldn’t resist anymore. And then things went lava temperature hot.
But hotness factor aside, and you should read this if you are looking for that, this was also a story of two people who had grown into good friends. Almost always a step in the right direction for me with short stories. I was not a fan of Jay thinking that if he got in a relationship with sweet little Eden she would want him to get a desk job and he couldn’t handle that. Assumptions. HATE THEM!
HOLD ME DOWN HARD is a quick and extremely hot ride, that might cause whimpering and hot flashes. Be warned to try and not read it in public.

UTC TOP PICK!
I have gone through a lot of stages and emotions with Raven in this series. She started out as a very standoffish character for me. She’s troubled and at the beginning of the series I couldn’t care less what her issues were I just wanted her bitchiness to go away and stop causing problems. But as time went by I started to soften up a bit, just as she did as well, and wanted to see her get an HEA and some healing. That being said, I’ve waited years for it! As soon as I could get my paws on this, I dropped everything else.
And Ms. Dane did not disappoint me. I felt an immediate connection to DRAWN TOGETHER. The chemistry and just perfect pairing of Raven and Jonah was magical. Jonah is everything Raven has needed to help her come out of her shell with enough of a stern attitude to keep Raven from acting out. They were truly meant for each other.
I also loved seeing that Raven was able to shake up an otherwise methodical life that Jonah thought was all he had to live. He’s lived by society and his family’s expectations for a long time and has suppressed a part of him. I have to admit that Jonah might’ve shot up to my list of fave heroes in this series. Maybe not more than Brody yet. But I think a re-read of the whole series is due now so I can make an informed opinion, since it’s been so long. Jonah is a very alpha man but tender and not pushy when the situation didn’t merit it. He’s actually the type of dominant hero you wish to have for yourself in real life! Gahhhh!
But I think that not only are you going to fall in love with Jonah, you’re going to fall in love with Raven. I connected with her in this book more so than I thought I would.
It was a little bittersweet to read this book because we are coming to the end of the Brown Siblings. One of my favorite series and I’ll miss seeing all the characters. I care for each and every one of them! Ms. Dane did a wonderful job at giving us a glimpse of all of them in this book and updating us on what’s going on in their lives.
DRAWN TOGETHER is a highly anticipated book that lives up to all my expectations!

I loved the concept of this series when I read the first book, HIGH RISK, and of course it was hot as hell. But I was anxiously awaiting to read about this couple. Alisha and Devon were always bickering and you could just tell once they gave in to their desires they would sizzle.
And sizzle they did! HIGH PASSION is full of adrenaline and chemistry. Alisha and Devon were melting the pages (and me!) but also melting my heart. This book was truly perfect! Everything I wanted for them and from them. The story kept me on my toes and turning the pages.
Alisha has a secret. Who she is and where she comes from. And that all catches up with her in HIGH PASSION. She has to deal with her sense of inadequacy that her father always leaves her with because she’s not living up to the society standards he wants for her. Instead she’s risking her life climbing and rescuing people, living in a small apartment in a small town.
Devon has decided it’s time that he confronts the passion they’ve had between them. It was long overdue. Little did he know it’s always been more than that. Alisha challenges him to be better, and he’s been rising to that challenge for years. They both admire each other and drive each other forward.
I enjoyed the suspense element in this book. It wasn’t over the top but kept things interesting with just the right amount of romance and suspense.
HIGH PASSION was one of my recommended reads from what I read last month and I highly encourage you to take a look. One of my favorite Vivian Arend books!
“I’m seeing stars.” Devon chuckled. “I left the stars a few hundred miles back. I’m into the outer reaches of the galaxy already.”

If there is one thing that I can tell you about this series is that there's a lot of kinky f*ckery and it's hot as hell!!! I was actually very excited about the two male characters in this book, both sexy and kinky hockey players. I can't say the same about the heroine.
We first met Jami as Richter's daughter in the previous book. Very troubled, not accepting of his father's life and choices, and to put it simply...a rebel. Although for most of this book I thought she was doing a lot better, incredibly so, I find that her HEA would've benefited from being written later in the series. Why? Because I still found her a bit immature and whiny at times and I think that's because of her age and that she just came out of what happened to her in the previous book.
That being said, I would've gladly taken her place! She has great chemistry with both Luke and Sebastian individually. I always love when authors take their time to develop the individual relationships in a permanent menage relationship. And Ms. Sommerland always delivers on that! And just how they each have a relationship with Jami, which is the reason they all come together, there is also a beautiful and deep relationship between Luke and Sebastian. I was left wondering if Sebastian's connection to Luke wasn't too strong and overpowering of his love for Jami. But I guess the balance was there most of the time.
Sebastian is all tall, dark and Dom. This is THE man that will leave you biting your lip and panting for more. His presence is commanding but he's also very caring of those he loves and others that have gone through what he has.
Luke was the lost soul in this story, which made me sad because I never thought that's where his character would fall to. I've always seen him as the happy and good humored one of the bunch. I have to admit when he first did his scene with Chicklet I almost wanted to see them explore that relationship because it was pretty hot. Luke is a Dom but he also needs to give up control. Sebastian fit into that perfectly and it was very real to see them, especially Luke, struggle with what his mind and body where saying.
Then there's the rest of the crew! Silver is pregnant and even gives birth in this book and that was just great to see. Sloan is also going through stuff in his personal life and even his relationship, so some of their issues come back to be dealt with. I love to see the new and old always woven in the story because we want to know what's going on in their lives.
Overall, this BDSM book is not for the faint of heart. It'll make you tingle in ways you didn't think were possible! I can't wait for the next installment about the kinkiest hockey team EVER!
Everytime I read a Mackenzie McKade book I reaffirm the fact that I think she can write an amazingly hot story, she can bring to life the characters and she can also deliver a story I am interested in reading and connect with. Even though the scenarios that she comes up with would be the farthest for me to relate to.
So picture this...hot, rich cowboy who runs his own operation. Most eligible bachelor in town and all that. With a kinky reputation for liking some threesome action, being really good in bed and maybe even being into some tying up and spanking. On top of that, he's gorgeous. That could be intimidating for anyone, but especially for city girl Tess, who moved from California after her parents death to follow her brothers dream of owning a farm. She is now left responsible for three siblings and not much time or space to be wild and young and free. Except for when wild and young and free comes knocking.
How can you really go wrong with a cowboy that is totally alpha, can give you some kink but is possessive and jealous (mine!!!!!) and who actually falls hard for a woman that is not all glitz and glamour but that has some substance? Well, you can't! Clancy Wiseman is my type of guy from beginning to end and everything in between. Bad boy but sweet, domineering but understanding.
Tess is, aside from a very lucky girl, playful. She's had a lot dumped on her lap and she's given up a lot to be where she is today. Her family, her siblings, come above all else, including herself. She's strong in her everyday life so it was nice to see her loosen up and see how Clancy got through those walls.
Then there's their third. Mmmmmmm..... Sexy and fun, knowing his limits from the get go, and then helping them along. Just perfect. Can't wait to read his book, because I'm sure we will get it, right?
This just makes me mad because, although I did read the first book in this series, which was a great Holiday menage story, I didn't read book two. And that was where Clancy got introduced by being the third in that relationship. I definitely want to go back and read that because I feel there was a great connection between the chracters from that book and Clancy and we got to see a bit of that in this book as well.

I can’t tell you how excited I was to crack open this book! I really enjoyed book one in this series and the character I fell in love with was Jace. The overbearing brother who shares his women with his best friend. And then I started reading FEVER and…wondered what happened?
Let me start by saying a big reason why I thought this was just an okay read was the heroine. I wasn’t too excited about her from the very beginning. She’s not very strong in general and to pair her with such a domineering man, well he steamrolled right over her sometimes. I think he needed someone that would’ve been able to challenge him more, like Mia did for Gabe, not a delicate flower. Plus there’s the fact that I never really get over the fact that I’m not sure what her motivation for being with Jace really was. See Bethany is a little down on her luck, has been her whole life, and has learned to live on the streets and in shelters. Then in swoops multi-millionaire Jace and tries to save the day. Not doing the best things for me.
But not only was the heroine not my type, Jace turned into a bit of an a$$…you know what I mean. He doesn’t listen to reason when his best friend Ash tries to protect him. He acts like a douche to EVERYONE around him in this book, for a good part of the story! Including one instance with Ash and Bethany where I almost wanted to reach across the pages and slap him silly. What happened to the man I fell in love with in RUSH?
But all that aside, the story in general is ok. There’s some intrigue, generated mainly by Bethany’s “brother” who is not really her blood brother, more like a foster brother. He gets in with some bad people and their way of getting back at him is through Bethany so Jace has to step in and protect her.
The book is sensual as usual with a Maya Banks read and Jace was hot, of course, but… I think I just expected more. At the very least I expect Jace to show up, not his alter ego.
I don’t think I can even say this book made me excited to read about Ash, but I’ll make myself remember that he was hot in RUSH and that he was at times the voice of reason and the strong but sensitive lead in this book, who got the sour end of the stick where his best friend was concerned, and then I’ll be all excited and prepared to read his story.
Sounds a bit like I didn’t like it, I did, it was enjoyable, just not as strong of an addition in this series as I would’ve liked.
When Maya Banks sets out to write a hot story, she delivers on all counts. Forget the Fifty Shades of Messed Up, what you need to be reading is about Mr. Gabe Hamilton, and friends.
What a hot hunk of man Gabe is. He is the ideal fantasy for anyone who likes the tall, rich and powerful hero. This may have been exploited a bit much for my taste lately, but I think Ms. Banks has it dead right. You can’t help but want Gabe, even though he’s arrogant and always thinking about himself. And my favorite…he’s a grown man. Sexy, assertive, intense…sex on legs.
Gabe is partners with Jace and Ash in a very successful business. He’s had a crush on Jace’s little sister, Mia, for many years but never acted on it. After a nasty divorce that has left him broken relationship-wise, and taking advantage that Jace is not in town, he makes Mia a proposition. To come work for him as his assistant but handle more than his paperwork. He doesn’t want any emotions involved, which is why he makes her sign his well known contract.
Mia is a great heroine. I applauded her behavior in more than one occasion and it was refreshing to see a heroine in this type of book that’s not a sitting wallflower, a woman who has her own thoughts and opinions and they don’t necessarily revolve around making Gabe happy and bowing down to his every request. She stands her ground when it’s necessary.
Their relationship starts out a sexual thing that they both wanted to get out of their systems, but they slowly find that they’ve been in love with each other for a while. It just needed the right buttons to be pushed for it to all come to the surface. And when it comes to the steam factor….be ready to get burned! This book is sizzling hot!
The one thing that’s original about this series is that each book will feature a different couple. Thank you Ms. Banks! We go back to the roots of the Sweet series, where she introduces a group of friends or family members and we get to find out all the kinky things they get into. This series is like that. It adds another level to the story that I find lacking in a series that follows the same couple throughout Book one is about Gabe and Mia. Book two will be about Mia’s brother Jace. And book three will be the third BFF Ash.
Fans of Sylvia Day’s BARED TO YOU have to make it a priority to read RUSH. I think this trilogy will just leave us breathless. And as I sit here, I’m waiting extremely impatiently to read Jace’s story.
“I can’t go easy, Mia,” he said, his voice strained and edgy. “I want to be inside you more than I want to breathe right now. I have to have you. Now.”
“Eyes,” he snapped. “On me, Mia. Always on me. You don’t come with your eyes closed. I want to see everything you have when I’m inside you. You don’t ever shut me out.”

What more can I ask for? Really? I got this short story because, quite frankly, I forgot that Lorelei James was in a very hot menage anthology that I wanted to read. Then I started hearing about her upcoming October 2 title BALLROOM BLITZ, which is a character from this story, and I just had to catch up.
I think this just proves that Lorelei James can write an awesome romance, sexy as hell and panty-melting erotic....without cowboys. *gasp* Yes, you read that right. No cowboys in sight in this wicked garden.
Eden, the teenager, wanted to loose her virginity to Billy. She loved him then. But he didn't think he deserved such a gift or such love and he ran. They both went on with their lives and now Billy comes back into town on business and runs right into Eden, business and personal.
What they couldn't have then, they have now. Their chemistry was sizzling, but their love for each other was as well. I could tell they were meant to be together and complemented each other perfectly. And just when you think there's nothing else that could make this any better, Jon White Feather comes along.
He's a Native American rocker, a celebrity, and Eden's booty call. That all makes for some hot, threesome moments.
For a short story, I think the characters are well developed enough that you can still believe their love for each other. Whether it's Billy and Eden or Eden and Jon. It all made sense and connected. And I can't help but to be more than ready to read Jon's story.(less)

There are some things in life that one could be only so lucky to get a good instructor to guide you through them. Ian manages to be that great instructor on two things for Francesca. He teaches her how to drive and the art of the blowjob.
Really not a whole lot more than this happened in these two chapters. Of course I can't complain because wow that was hot! Ian was as always extremely hot and over the top, going as far as hiring a personal shopper and tailor for Francesca. He also lets go of some of his control at times, but never 100%. I can't imagine if and when he does.
Francesca was a bit on the annoying side for me when she gets defensive about him having to accept her the way she was and if that meant that she couldn't afford to buy a dress to attend an event with him then that meant he had to deal with it not buy her a dress. It is childish to think that such a rich man, that wants to bring you as his date to a fancy party, would be ok with you showing up in your own clothes only to feel out of place. That's more common sense than him trying to buy her. But that's just my opinion.
And if you have to take one sentence away from this review of what to expect in this installment, then take this:
"I happen to be very demanding when it comes to fellatio."(less)

This week's edition is all about sex and punishment! The kiddie gloves are off and Ian Noble is finally going for what he wants from Beth and boy! *fans self* Francesca was in for a couple of rounds of "power drive."
"Did that arouse you?" he asked, kissing her lips softly. "Letting me use your body for my pleasure?"
I really can't say there was any major development in their relationship or in the overall story in these two chapters. We didn't really learn a whole lot other than the fact that Ian has an amazing mouth (is he part snake?) and is pretty damn good with a crop. ;)
"It would please me if you slapped me...between my thighs."
Francesca is dealing with her own feelings about the way she reacts to all the BDSM stuff Ian is exposing her to. She should be disgusted by it not turned on, right? She's also finding it hard to deal with that Ian wants to have so much control over her.
I still think she's incredibly naive and Ian very overbearing and at times a bit of an ass. In the book it all seems so glamourized and Ian just comes across as the hottest thing around but if I were to be in a relationship with that guy...someone better have the bail money ready.
"The day isn't over yet, Francesca."
I can't wait for the next part of this story!(less)

Oh.My.Gawwwddddd!!! The torture I put myself through! Again another great installment in this story, this one a lot more intense and sexually charged than the first one.
Beth Kery has created a smoking hot, possessive alpha, sexy billionaire hero that gets my heart racing every time and a heroine that through her innocence she is still not afraid of going after a man with such experience and intensity as Ian.
I am starting to call this series my personal crack. Everytime I get to the end of the installment I seem to always scream "No! Please don't leave me hanging there for another week! I need more!". So job very well done Ms. Kery for getting me to drop almost everything else I'm reading at the time 1am rolls around on release day so I can read my Francesca & Ian fix.

I stumbled across this book yesterday, blurb sounded interesting and I know UTC loves Evangeline Anderson so I gave it a go while I went to get a pedicure. Well.... I can probably sum up my review in this one sentence: I devoured this book!
It's short but for the few hours you get to read it there's a lot of heavy breathing and your heart will definitely be through the roof. It was kind of funny that at certain times I was checking to make sure nobody around me was looking at my tablet screen. And then I couldn't put it down and had to sneak a few lines while I was driving.
Duke and Maverick are roommates. They are also in the soccer team together. They are best friends and throughout the four years they've lived together they've become really close. Except now they are about to get a whole lot closer.
This story is told only from Mav's point of view and he's dealing with being attracted to Duke. Duke doesn't make things easier as he is always being very close and physical and then there's the games of gay chicken...and extremely gay chicken. When they are coming up short to pay their last month of rent they end up posing for some sexy pictures for the Str8te Boys website. And things just escalate from there.
This story was fun and sexy. It's a story of discovery and of dealing with emotions and attraction. But they both went for it and I was extremely glad for that!(less)
This is the one series I've been recommending to everyone this year when they want something good and hot to read, or even the one I keep reminding people to hurry up and get on to the next one. I don't think I can say it enough, both ladies that make up Katie Porter are extremely talented and they have certainly turned up the heat on erotic romance masterfully. It's classy, not overdone, extremely sensual and never lacking. Blows me away everytime and HOLD 'EM will leave you
Throughout the series we've been reading about Leah "The Princess". She's a tough chick in a man's world. A woman pilot and very successful at her job, who has let the pressures of what her life entail take her on a self destructive path. It was nice to see that in this book she was able to face her alcohol abuse head on and do what's right for herself. Just one more thing that shows how strong she is.
And speaking of strong, I'll be honest here. I was not expecting Leah to end up being the dominant in this relationship and where I normally can take or leave these types of scenarios, Leah and Michael blew me away.
Lets not leave Michael "Strap Happy". He is totally adorable, funny and cute. He is a take charge, alpha male with a little secret. And if you thought by Strap Happy that meant he likes to tie women up, then you're wrong. Nothing turns this guy on more than to submit to a a strong woman. One that can raise her voice just so to issue a command he can't refuse.
I've come to expect Katie Porter's books to push my comfort limits on what I would normally find that I enjoy reading about. And not only push them, but make me like them. They truly submit my likes to their whims. I enjoyed every single moment of the relationship between Leah and Michael, in and out of the bedroom. They are both very strong characters and they compliment each other so well.
Their love story was different than the previous ones. I feel that there was a deeper connection between the characters, more romantic even. There's the second chance at love for these two since they had a short fling when they were still very young. Love those types of stories. Still there was plenty of humor and great banter between the hero and heroine, as well as with the rest of the cast who makes an appearance.
I don't think these two were able to top the awesomesauce that is Jon Carlisle for me, because that man is a sex god, but it was a very close attempt! I can't wait to see what else Katie Porter has to offer.
PS: Have an extra pair of underwear handy, you will need it ;)
"Give me permission to move so I can fuck you the way you want. The way your body needs. Hard and fast."
"Harpy-hood is one of my many talents."
"As long as you’re there, I always know where I am. Safe."

If you don't read any further into my review just know this: If you are not reading Katie Porter you are missing out on some seriously hot books! I thought after finishing DOUBLE DOWN that this series had started out on a really high note with a lot of originality and that it would be hard to keep up with that note. Which is why I went into reading INSIDE BET without expecting much of it. And boy was I wrong!
INSIDE BET had me from page one. I started this and couldn't put it down, literally. The story is great, the characters are even better and the sex? Well...lets just say that this book will leave you reaching for a vibrator or your significant other...at the very least will have you biting down on your knuckles and needing a cigarette afterwards. And note that I don't even smoke.
I think anytime you can make a hero as delicious as Jon Carlisle you already won half the battle. If you like the rich and powerful type, he's your guy; if you like military men, he's your type. If you have a thing for a man in a three piece suit, yep that's him. But he's also the guy in really nice jeans and a white tshirt with a jacket and sunglasses, or the extremely sexy guy in a military uniform. In case you need further explanation, Jon Carlisle is panty-melting hot! And he's not afraid to get a bit rough and dominant. Where has he been my whole life?
Of course the lucky girl that catches his eye, Heather Morris, is not so bad herself. She's smart, she's got her issues with her past but that doesn't immediately stop her from being with Jon. Their dares and extremely hot sex couldn't have happened if she hadn't been there to push the envelope. Together, these two are explosive!
Then there's also the friendship in Jon's group and the issues with Leah coming to a breaking point. I really can't wait to read the next book and finally find out what her story is and why she is so self-destructive.
A couple of things worth mentioning before I get into the review...
a) I loooooove Shiloh Walker, but I admit I've started reading her more current work first. b) This book was originally published in 2003 under Ellora's Cave. I bought it last year when it was re-released with this beautiful cover, because I'm a cover whore. c) It's been sitting on my Kindle app for a long time!
When making the decision to start reading a series that already has so many books, in fact this one is officially done, it can be intimidating. But it is encouraging at least for me to know that the stories are relatively short.
I started this book expecting a great story with a little bit of heat. And I got a lot more than I bargained for! From almost the very beginning Ms. Walker was burning up the pages with Declan and Tori! I had to stop to fan myself. I could easily classify this book as an Erotic Paranormal Romance, and it's definitely one of the hotter books I've personally read to date by Ms. Walker.
The plot was great as well. Tori, a human, has the bad luck of coming face to face with a vampire rogue who turns her against her will. She's going through the change and adjusting to her new self and new urges and seeks the help of the only man she felt safe with before, but that also she wanted to stay away, Declan. Turns out Declan is a werewolf, who has known for a while that Tori was his mate, and he is fully prepared to help her in whatever way necessary but also he decided now he gets to keep her forever. And of course he has to protect her from her maker.
As I mentioned before this book is heavy on the romance and the sex, not so much on the world building. Although there is some, I still have a lot of unanswered questions about the world. I think for a short story and what I wanted to read, this book was perfect though.
Of course I have to mention Eli. He's the older vampire Declan takes Tori to in order to learn more about how to be a vampire and to help her, in more ways than one. I loved his character and I'm actually really excited that I get to read his story!
Something worth mentioning, that I wasn't too cool with reading and I almost took a star away from the rating. There is a scene where Tori has sex with Declan while he is...not a wolf, but shifted. Fur, claws, the tongue....yeah. I always run the other way when this happens in a shifter book and I didn't care much for that scene in this book.(less)
Oh.My.God! This is one hot little story. Of course I have a thing for a man in uniform and an honest to God Air Force pilot can push my buttons. Add to that that he may have a kinky side and I'm all for it. But Ryan Haverty (aka "Fang") is not kinky in the way you are thinking. There's no tie me up and spank me in this book (well, there is but in a completely different context). This story is about role playing.
Ryan has always had fantasies of being with women and dressing them up. He's wanted the schoolgirl, the french maid, you get the picture. He also thinks he is a sick fuck for wanting that everytime he thinks of sex because of a bad experience with his ex. Now, I don't see the immediate problem with his likes or his way of thinking. What I did see a problem with and why this isn't a 5 star book was Ryan's disgust for his own wants. Constantly. That's all he thought about and talked about. How sick in the head he was for wanting to have sex with a girl while she was on her knees with pigtails and a sexy skirt. I say.... whatever floats your boat, get over it already. He was getting annoying at times with that.
That being said, this is one hot book. What starts out as a one night stand between Major Ryan Haverty from the Air Force and Cassandra Whitman, a waitress from Las Vegas, slowly turns into something else, something more. They are truly a perfect fit. She is just daring and carefree and funny enough to draw Ryan out and make him forget about his rules and live the life he wants.
I loved this quote:
"Fucked in a sex shop? Been there, done that. Bought the naughty Goth costume souvenir."
Even though this book might seem like a fantasy after another (you may want to take notes for future reference, just staying) it also developed the characters and their connection. They both had issues to overcome although Ryan's issue just made me want to punch his face.
I am so excited to read about the rest of the Vegas Top Guns. I see from the blurbs that Jon and Leah are not going to end up together. =( I was rooting for that! But I can see how their friendship and dynamic could work better with separate love interests. I'm excited to read about them, so bring on "Tin Tin".

Hot rock stars? Check. Tats? Check. Sexy piercings? Check. A panty-melting smile? Check. We fell in love with Ms. Cunning Sinners on Tour and we finally have a new book by her again. But oh the tease! Yes, this is a short story. And this is a completely different band. But do you see me complaining? Well, maybe just the fact that I wanted more, more, more!
Gabe, aka Force, is the drummer of Sole Regret. And sometimes he is just too tired to deal with the groupies they have hanging around after a concert. But one girl catches his eye. And she looks nothing like a groupie, especially when she says no to lead singer Shade.
Melanie had pretty much been dragged there by her friend Nikki, who is a groupie and who just wants to nail Shade. Tats and piercings scare her, she never though she would go for a guy like these rockstars until she stumbles across Gabe. And then holy hell sparks starts going off like Fourth of July between them.
This is the perfect little read to heat up a summer afternoon ;) Be sure to check this one out and be like me... on the lookout for the next Sole Regret fix!
"He never questioned his little head's instincts. His dick has excellent taste."
"She'd known a few cock teases in her life, but she'd never met a pussy tease before."
"He dove under the covers, delighting in the sound of her laugh as he cupped her breasts in both hands and kissed her flat belly."(less)

Sylvia Day has done it again. She can seriously write a sensual and sexy story. She can also write with a lot of emotion and show us a damaged side to her characters that you can easily connect with.
REFLECTED IN YOU picks up pretty much where BARED TO YOU left off. Gideon and Eva are dating and have been going at it like monkeys, staying mostly at his place after the mess with Cary.
This is a difficult review to write because there were many things that I liked about the book and some that I wish I would've liked better.
Gideon is hot and dominant and sexy as all hell. This book will make you fall in love with him all over again, in spite the fact that sometimes I felt like clubbing him over the head. He's comfortable in a suit and boardroom as well as jeans and t-shirt at a concert. He's willing to fight for the woman he loves and to keep her by his side. Although, I have to say that if it had been me throughout the book that he would talk to like he did...I might be in jail for assault charges. But once things are revealed at the end, all was forgiven.
How Eva stood up for him. My heart broke completely for Gideon when he finally opened up to Eva about his past. And I just loved that she went on that little rampage and put everyone in their place who had ever messed with Gideon's life.
The sex. Yes, I said it. The sex. Because wow, just O.O WOW! LOL At the concert, in the bathroom, in the limo. Gideon is a God and he knows what he's doing. I'm so jealous of Eva.
Eva grew a pair of balls towards the end of the book, which I thought was fantastic and made me jump up and down because I was totally on her side and rooting for that to happen. I had been complaining throughout the book that I wanted her to take more charge and see some growth, and I finally did get that.
The storyline in this book was excellent. There were enough normal conflicts between Eva and Gideon while also having a small mystery element after Cary gets attacked. I actually didn't expect that to go down like that.
I feel that a measure of healing started happening in this book for both. And although it seems sometimes things have to get worst before they get better, I can't wait to see where Ms. Day will take us in the last installment of this trilogy. Anxiously awaiting.
Obviously I knew by looking at this cover that there was going to be some crazy hotness in this book. The general story could be any girls dream. Hot construction crew next door remodeling a house, you've been drooling over not just one but all of them. Turns out while they take breaks they "relieve" the stress from work by having sex, and if there just isn't a woman around, that's not a problem. They can take care of each other.
Then enter Kate. She's a little shy to start but she quickly jumps on that bandwagon. A lot quicker than I would've thought considering the amount of guys she was taking on. Because really, sometimes one isn't enough, and just two can be boring.
I'll admit that at times I was a bit confused as to who's thing was going where (hey, there's too many to keep track of!) but every sex scene was hot! And for such a short story, there was a lot of it!
But then there is also romance. Although she is with the whole crew there was an attraction and connection with Mike. I felt that wasn't developed as much, especially being a short story that can be hard. But I did like Mike. He's very alpha, as most of the guys.
I am looking forward to continuing this series because this crew and their powertools are just HOT!(less)

First of all, I picked up this book because I like Sylvia Day and I thought the cover was hot. I was intrigued to read an erotic story by her and quite frankly I barely skimmed through the blurb. I loaded it on my tablet and then well, got sidetracked. Then all of a sudden there's all this buzz about this book and I hear it's being compared to Fifty Shades of Grey. And that got my attention again. I enjoyed Fifty Shades for the most part even though I didn't necessarily found it erotic and the writing wasn't 100% to my liking. So I started reading Bared to You with a certain preconception of what the story would be like and knowing that I would enjoy the writing better because I like this author!
Now... what can I tell you about it after reading it? This book is very Fifty Shades but better. I almost wish Fifty wasn't there to outshine this story because of all the publicity. We basically have a very rich and very tormented man, Gideon Cross. He owns practically half of Manhattan and things always go his way. He comes from an abusive past and hasn't done well in his relationships with women, as well as his family. He's very possessive, domineering, stubborn and at times selfish and quite stalkerish.
Then there's Eva Trammell. She's young, recently moved to Manhattan from California and just got her first job in a building that happens to be owned by Mr. Cross. She also comes from an abusive past and still deals with overprotective parents while trying to find her own way and live her life without fear. Of course she is instantly mesmerized by Gideon.
Even though I think Gideon is very sexy and they have great chemistry together, I found myself at times thinking he is just a bit too much. Too overpowering, too crazy deluded, too...well... creepy. And then there's the fact of the ex-fiance and the good friend and how he somehow thought she should be ok with him having such important female friends in his life while she just sat quietly next to him and "behaved". So yeah I got a bit ticked off with Gideon Cross at times.
I think they have a lot to go through and grow together and individually to make their relationship work in the long run and I think it'll be fun to read.
Now onto the Fifty Shades issue. Is it similar? Yes. Is it better? In my opinion, absolutely! It's written perfectly, the characters, the scenes, everything flowed perfectly and caught my interest from the get-go. And Sylvia Day can surely write some hot scenes! A friend told me that this book was inspired by Sylvia's Seven Years to Sin story, and that she wanted to take that premise and write a contemporary story. So I'll be checking out that book as well soon!
I am looking forward to the second book in this series. I do hope to see more character development and some emotional connection between Gideon and Eva. I am also looking forward to reading more about Cary, Eva's roommate. He was another interesting character.(less)
