Before I start my review let me give you a couple of warnings…This book is probably not for everyone, it is about the real life and actions of a bikers’ gang and if you’re easily offended by rude words or crude behavior then you may want to reconsider. Second, and most shocking to me, this book may have you questioning your mental stability as you may find yourself, like me, thinking that some pretty crazy things are HAWT AS HELL.
REAPER’S PROPERTY was recommended by a friend of mine who knows my tastes very well, so I didn’t even read the blurb, I just picked it up. Going in blind, but at least with the reference that I was recommended this because I loved UNDENIABLE by Madeline Sheehan, I was somewhat prepared. But not as prepared as the shock of the beginning of this story when the hero of the book has a gun to the heroines’ brother’s head and is asking for her to go with him as his sex toy so he spares her brother’s life. O.O What? Thank God this is later better explained because I had all my prickly senses on high alert.
But who cares about the story as much when I have so much to tell you about the hero…. I’M A SUCKER FOR TRUE BAD BOYS. First of all, let me introduce you to him…
Yes, his name is Horse… HORSE IS….
“Tall, built, with shoulder length hair he kept pulled back in a ponytail, and thick black stubble on his face. Stark, tribal cuffs ringed his wrists and upper arms. And what a face…Horse was handsome, like movie star handsome…The thought of his below the belt assets led to a brief but intense fantasy about him, me, my bed and some chocolate syrup. Yum.”
And evidently, the name comes from…
“So why are you called Horse?” “‘Cause I’m hung like one,” he replied smirking.
Horse is the ultimate bad boy, and when I say bad boy I mean that literally. I’m not talking about the hot guy from the romance novels with the tortured past who thinks he doesn’t deserve a good girl to love him because he might end up like his dad. No, he loves his life. He’s completely involved as a Reaper and embraces the lifestyle. Wants nothing other than that. He’s enjoyed his share of sweet butts and never thought he’s want an old lady to be his Property. I think you get the point right?
Marie has had it rough pretty much her whole life. She married her high school sweetheart instead of going off to college. He turns out to be an ass who likes to beat her. She’s finally left him and is staying with her brother while trying to get her life back on track. But her brother has been keeping some interesting company, or actually “working” for the Reapers MC. They’re bad ass and they come around sometimes. With names like Picnic and Mad Max…and yes, Horse. They’re used to taking what they want and you better not cross them.
But Marie’s brother crosses them and she’s caught in the middle of it because Horse wants her. I loved to see the back and forth in the timeline because I was able to understand thing slowly after the initial shock I got of where the story was heading. We also get Horse’s POV sometimes and I was so thankful for that because it really made me feel different about things. He really does love Marie in the only way he knows how.
Their relationship is not cookie cutter by any means, but it’s hot, explosive, intense and will leave you tingling in all the right places. And yes, I might’ve been left more than once questioning why I could possibly like something that was so wrong. Maybe I am that sick in the head. This was actually a conversation I had with a friend of mine who was reading this at the same time. And we decided that we must be sick because IT ROCKED OUR WORLDS.
For fans of true biker books, this is one not to be missed. For readers who like to be shocked and want to read something outside the box, this is definitely for you. This book doesn’t get to the point that some others have gotten as far as the “dark” factor, so I think it’s easier to appeal to a bigger audience. And really, I think you all need to meet Horse and drool over him along with me. Need I say more?
Some of my favorite PG-13 quotes:
Just big and fast, with giant, fat tailpipes off the back and more testosterone than should be legal. The motorcycle was almost as beautiful as the man who rode it. Almost.
He got off his bike and walked toward me, eyes holding mine hostage. I felt a startling flush of warmth between my legs. But something about the way this biker swaggered, taking up space and the very air around him with his presence, caught me off guard and knocked me right in the…Well you know. My nipples hardened and I swayed a little as he stopped, reaching out with one finger to trace my collarbone from my shoulder inward, then running it down between my breasts, grazing the sides. He raised it to his mouth, tasting my sweat. He smelled like motor oil and sex.
“This pussy is mine. You are mine. I’ll fuck you when and where I want, and you can either take it or get the fuck out. Are we clear?”
“Fuck, this is gonna piss you off and then you aren’t gonna let me stick my d*ck in you,” he muttered.
I really shouldn’t have skipped biker babe orientation, I mused.
“Do you want the right to be pissed at me, seeing as you’re so good at it?”
“I don’t want to be your enemy, ” he said firmly. “I want to be your man. You make me feel crazy things, Marie, and I don’t want to lose you.”
“I want you to be my old lady, babe. That’s all I have to offer. I’m a Reaper, and this is my world. You wear my patch, you be my woman and I’ll be your man. We take the good times together and fight through the bad times. No games. That’s everything I’ve got and it’s all yours if you’ll take it.”

It is no secret that I love Madeline Sheehan’s dirty and gritty writing style. I’m a fan! It’s refreshing to see someone that is so unapologetic in the world she’s created. That no-holds-barred attitude is what has allowed for this world to be all that it can be.
UNATTAINABLE is no different than the rest of the series. It’s not pretty. But it’s real.
Cage and Tegen have a volatile and explosive relationship. They are like oil and water most of the time, right from when they were kids. But they are alike in so many ways. Both growing up fully immersed in the MC lifestyle. Cage living that up to its full potential. Tegen wanting to get away from it all as much as possible.
Their romance is a whirlwind, with some highs and a lot of lows. I loved Cage! He’s had so much to deal with, especially with Deuce as a father. Coming from a broken marriage, seeing his father in love with another woman, only knowing that way of treating and using women. He’s wanted his dad’s approval for a long time and he can’t seem to get it. When he has Tegen, he’s more at peace. I loved that about them. Tegen is a little spitfire and even though at times she was just a little over the top crazy and hard to contain, she loves with a passion.
In the midst of their story we get ZZ. Be prepared to get shocked to hell and back. I NEED to know what happens with him. Could this guys get any more crapped on? Am I the only one that wants a little happiness for him?
And then there’s the star of this book for me. DIRTY! Yeah, I never thought I would say that. I wasn’t too much of a fan of the guy that walks around in dirty clothes and hates taking showers. You know, for the obvious reasons. But what’s underneath and inside that man is so damaged that my heart couldn’t help but breaking into pieces. I need to read his story, I need to get more of him.
Why not a full 5 stars for this one? Because as much as I anticipated Cage and Tegen’s story (and I was on pins and needles to get it!) I almost think it was overshadowed by the side characters. There wasn’t enough Cage and Tegen!! And that’s not to say that I didn’t enjoy them all. I just cared about Dirty more than Cage. And this was HIS book.
This series continues being an auto buy for me. I enjoy the hell out of it! It may not be for everyone but if you open your mind and give it a chance it will rock your world!
Love, they say, has the potential to kill a person if they aren’t careful. I wasn’t careful.
“For fuck’s sake, Tegen, stop overthinkin’ every damn thing. Just get on my goddamn dick and start fuckin’ bouncin’.”
“Cox, don’t speak,” Kami said. “It makes you less hot.”
“It’s me an you, Teacup,” he said, rolling to his side and sliding his hand over my bare stomach. “And nothin’. ‘Cause nothin’ else fuckin’ matters right now.”(less)
You can also find there a deleted scene the author shared, A HORSEMAN WEDDING.
What a ride this book was! I’m always scared going into reading a book that has this much hype around it, and UNDENIABLE scared me. It was first recommended by a good friend when it first came out and I added it to the never ending TBR. Then a lot of friends of mine read it and raved about it. But I have to thank Kitty for kicking my butt into starting this after I met her this week. She told me it was an addicting read and that was the final straw. I HAD to see what everyone was talking about. And when I started, I admit I did so with apprehension.
Needless to say, the author won me over from the very first chapter. I was captivated by Eva, an adorable five year old with a lot of personality who just happens to be the daughter of the head of a motorcycle gang from New York. And she’s visiting her father in jail. There she meets Deuce who, at 23, is also the son of the head of a motorcycle gang from Montana, sort of her dad’s enemies and sometimes business associates. She charms her way into Deuce’s heart, and into mine. And just the same way, Deuce imprinted himself into Eva’s heart.
Deuce moves on to make some tough decisions and take over the Horseman gang. Eva grows up as the Demons gang princess. Their paths cross a few times over the years but their relationship, despite their love and attraction, never seems to come to an HEA. And then things go downhill.
UNDENIABLE is raw, dark, gritty, intense and uncut. Definitely not for the faint of heart, but good thing I’m not easily offended because this book ROCKED MY WORLD. Might just be my top read of the year. The emotions are very close to the surface and in your face and nothing is sugar coated. Although there were many things that, in theory, would turn me off from reading or enjoying a book, such as the fact that 23 year old Deuce had paid so much attention to a little girl throughout the years while she was so clearly underage for him to pay attention to; the fact that this book has rape (not by the hero) and cheating which I usually steer clear of with very few exceptions; or maybe the fact that it deals with some disrespect to women by men and by the women themselves. When I think of everything this book dealt with all I can say is that the author did a SUPERB job at making every single thing that happened and was said be an important and necessary part of this story. And none of it bothered me the way I thought it would.
Seems hard to believe, but yes without rape and jerkish moments this story wouldn’t be what it was and that would just be a shame because Eva and Deuce couldn’t get to their HEA. Now, I’m not saying that Eva and Deuce are perfect. They are some of the most screwed up individuals around. In Eva’s case I have to blame her dad for being oblivious to what was happening in his daughters life and how far in a corner she got with her relationship with Frankie. And with Deuce it was his whole life. He never had it easy and just didn’t know any other way to be. But without every single thing that happened they couldn’t have ended up together and made it real. Even though it broke my heart.
And speaking of breaking my heart, this book had me in tears more than once. From the very beginning I got teary eyed, every so often in the story, definitely towards the end, and again as I write this. It tore my heart out and stomped on it a few times. But then it was uplifting and it had me melting. It was the perfect roller coaster ride of emotions.
It was sad in a way to see the light that was Eva instead of growing was extinguishing as the book went on and things happened. But what a tough woman she was throughout it all. Loyal and loving, trying to make everyone she cared about happy and sacrificing EVERYTHING, and I mean everything. That’s why she’s my top bitch, because she went from a chick I would love to hang out with because she was fun and cool, to a woman that had been beaten down by life who fought to come out on top.
I think I fell in love with Deuce early on in this book. Maybe I have a sick liking for bad boys but he pushed all my buttons and pulled the strings of my heart from the time he beat a bunch of teenagers that were trash talking Eva when she was just 12. But Deuce is not a “good” bad boy. He’s all bad, all the way around. He’s a jerk and a scumbag at times, but even then I could see past what he was doing to what he was feeling and my heart was breaking for the loneliness and anger inside of him. He loved Eva and sometimes he didn’t show it the way he should, but that was part of who he was and why things had to happen the way they did.
Then there are the other characters in the book. Eva’s best friend, Kami, is a rich society girl from New York who grew up with Eva. She’s also another sad case. Misunderstood, unloved by her family who didn’t care two cents about her and married her off for connections. I loved her and I was so sad for her. She had no self respect and just wanted to get some enjoyment out of life however she could. But she was always there, fighting for her friend. ‘Til the end and through everything. Her husband, Chase, I have to say I just hated him. But I also understand his sick point of view. In a way. The Horseman boys, especially Ripper and Cox, were a biker head case and I couldn’t wrap my mind around why they did what they did in their personal lives. But I was happy to see a change in them. And then there’s Frankie…although he’s a frightening bad guy, he’s also such a lost soul. He was sick and demented, scary as hell, but at the same time so sad. Every single character in this story added something to it, there were no fillers.
Now, I’m not going to sit here and tell you what happens because you just have to read the book. I devoured these 200+ pages in about 12 hours (including my beauty sleep, because I started the book when I went to bed). I couldn’t put this down, even when I went to the bathroom. I rarely have impulses to re-read books but I can guarantee you this will be one of those that I will.
What an amazingly FUCKED UP life these people had, I couldn’t have been happier to see that they got an HEA and to feel part of everything that happened along with them. Even though I wanted to read more about Eva and Deuce’s HEA than what we got.
“Promise me you’ll stay that way, yeah? You and me kid, we were fuckin’ born in the life, reared by the road and the wheel; it’s what we know and where we belong but that don’t mean it won’t take its toll. So you promise me, no matter what you see, no matter what sort of fucked up shit happens to you. Don’t let this life turn you bitter.”
“He’d lost his motherfucking mind. None of this should be happening. But there it was. …the road to hell is paved with good intentions, and he’d just bought himself a one way ticket.”
“He was a simple man. He liked kegs, country music, and down home pussy. He didn’t see the need to dress up the fact that he was getting drunk and laid. It was all the same in the end. Sloppy kissing, skin slapping, and a nasty hangover. Why the fuck put a decorative umbrella on it?”
“Because, baby, I’m wild pussy, and wild pussy can’t be bought. Wild pussy doesn’t like having pretty things thrown at it and being expected to do the samba on someone’s cock in return. Wild pussy doesn’t do deals. Wild pussy lives free and for itself and takes it however it likes it – on a bed, on a couch, on the hood of a car, in a bathroom stall, or up against a wall in an alleyway – and it laughs the entire time. I’ve known you for a while now, Chase. I know you’ve never had wild pussy, and I know you never will. Wild pussy doesn’t fuck uptight cock. And, it sure as hell doesn’t like silk boxers.”
“Fuckin’ listen, Eva, and listen good. Words are shit, and I ain’t good with them anyway. So, here’s the fuckin’ truth for you, straight up. I’m forty-eight years old, gonna be forty-nine all too soon, and I damn well know a good thing when I see it. And, babe, all I’ve ever been able to fuckin’ see is you. Not many chances a man has in his lifetime to do right, to earn the love of a good woman, and to get a taste of true freedom. And, babe, for me, you’re all fuckin’ three. Have been for a good while now.”
“What about your dream?” His face went dimples. “I’m lookin’ at it, darlin’.”(less)

REV IT UP starts up pretty much where IN RIDES TROUBLE left off. Jake "the Snake" Sommers has come back with one goal in mind, to get back the woman he loves. That would be Michelle Carter, Shell, whom we met in the previous book and now know she's Frank's sister.
Lets start with my favorite trait. Jake was determined to win her back. He knew it wouldn't be easy, he knew he messed up royally in the past, but he's come to the realization that life is nothing without her. Even though she had married his best friend. Even though now she raising a son by herself after Preacher died. Talk about loving someone when you are willing to jump feet first into a relationship with that much baggage. Not to mention the fact that your ex-boss is her brother and might kick your ass if you hurt her again.
So now that you can probably tell I have a bit of a crush on Jake because he's the man every woman wants, then let me tell you his one flaw. The Hawaiian shirts. It was painful to read how he dressed!!! The man needs a makeover, badly. Leave him with me for about a week and we can take care of the problem.
Shell was a very strong heroine, she's gone through a lot by herself but I felt that she really didn't have to and should've been able to communicate more with Jake in the past. Me being the good little detective that I am, I figured out what was going on there from the very beginning.
Shell and Jake as a couple were great though, they were passionate and they cared for each other. And yes, they revved me up!
Now the suspense element of this story was great. The big bad guy from the first book reappears and wants the Black Knights dead. He also develops a sick crush on Shell and goes after her. Jake then has to protect her while the rest of the team are looking for the hired guns that are trying to kill them. So there's a lot of thrilling action to keep you going.
Then there's the side romance. We are introduced to the next couple, Rock and Vanessa. They are teamed up while looking for the killers and all kinds of sparks were flying there. I am really looking forward to seeing him fall hard!

When I first heard about this series, I was captivated by this concept. I think I’ve had a thing for werewolf bikers since I read Shelly Laurenston’s Magnus Pack. I found that the first book in this series had a lot of world building and background information about who the dires were and all that, so I was looking forward to this one so we could get to the really good stuff.
Except I’m not sure this book got quite to that level. It was a bit of a rollercoaster for me, of liking and stalling and getting excited about it and stalling. Maybe it was the pace of the story, or maybe the fact that I felt in a way Kate was using Stray (she even makes him her familiar…accidentally).
Stray, in and of himself, is delicious. He’s a wonderful hero with a tortured past and a lot of heartache. He’s just been reunited with his long lost brother. His true family, the Dires, are under attack and the only choice they now have lies in the hands of a witch who doesn’t know she’s a witch, doesn’t want her powers and ohh…happens to be his mate. You can’t help but love him.
Kate on the other hand I wasn’t completely sold on. She’s an okay heroine, a little feisty and at least she had a little common sense. I get that she’s lived her life not knowing how to deal with the things she does and the powers she has. I just wasn’t sold on HER connection with Stray.
There’s quite a bit of action thrown in this book and less world building, which suited me just fine. But like I said before, it felt that the pace wasn’t exactly what I wanted and after I was very into to the book (either because of smexy things happening or action of the other kind) then it would take a slope down.
This is still a great series, I just find that the concept is not quite developed to its full potential yet. But what can I say, Ms. Tyler knows how to write a sinfully hot hero! All the guys in the Dire pack are very interesting and I have to confess that I was very into the parts about Jinx. He’s really opened up a can of worms, huh? I love that he now has a vampire roommate and their interactions are hilarious. I have to read more about them.
I also enjoyed that we get some insight into Rifter and Gwen. They’re not the alpha couple that after their book, they go into hiding, coming out only to bark orders. They were involved in the story and we got to peak back into their relationship. I like how that keeps the story connected.
I can’t wait to read more about the bad boys in this series and seeing them fall.
“I want to fuck you. Mark you. Lick you until you scream, clutch the sheets, until your body is worn out from my loving you. God, I dream about tasting you, Kate. Want to spend hours between your thighs. I want to make you mine the way you’ve made me yours.”(less)

I am really enthralled by the Dires world. The dires are basically werewolves but they are more. Sexier, more alpha, more badass, more tortured. Right up my alley! Their job is to protect humans from werewolves and cover their tracks to keep their existence under cover. They are immortal and lonely. Oh and did I mention they have a sexy tattoo of their wolf? Well, it's like a natural tattoo when they change their first time they wolf comes out. Love that!
This book is all about Rifter. He is the leader of the Dires. He is at a point where he is almost ready to die. Too bad they can't. He goes into a bar to find a female shifter to spend the night with but ends up very attracted to a human female. He normally doesn't go for humans, ever. But Gwen is it for him tonight. And she takes him up on his offer because she has actually just being given very little time to live. Some rare disease that causes her to have seizures.
Gwen will come to play an important role in the Dire Pack dynamic when they find out who she is, but the chemistry between her and Rifter was off the charts great!
The Dires are now fighting against Seb, and I have to say I kind of really like this bad guy. Something about him and his past that I just want to know more, know his motives, know what makes him tick.
Now onto my complaint, yes I have one. Even though there's some action, there's romance and there are quite a few smexy scenes oozing alphaness, I feel this book suffered from a major case of First Book Syndrome. There was a lot of information in the book that I thought at times was not needed. Maybe it will be important info in the future but it overwhelmed this book.
The rest of the Dires are a very intriguing bunch, I really can't wait to read their stories. I am kind of the most intrigued by Vice, and he seems like he has the most issues at times. I look forward to reading more about him as the series goes on.
I really liked the whole process of the mating between Rifter and Gwen, it wasn't without emotion and a lot of drama around them, and towards the end of this book it was nonstop and had my full attention.
I couldn't put this book down! I found the Wild Riders series by reading Nauti and Wild and I've loved every single book in this series! I've been looking forward to reading AJ & Pax's story, and knowing this was going to end up being, hopefully, a HEA for a 3some.
The book starts off giving us a glimpse of AJ's past, when he was 19 and in love with Teresa, but leaves her because of his criminal activities.
Now 10 years later, while on vacation with Pax he decides to go back to his hometown. They stop at a biker bar and he finds Teresa now owns it. In good Wild Riders fashion, even on vacation they find trouble, there's a war between the local biker club and the one from north of town. The leader of the north club is stabbed and Teresa's brother is accused of the murder, while Teresa is the only witness. Now she has to find the killer herself since the cops think she's lying for her brother.
AJ & Pax decide to stay and help and protect Teresa. They both want her. And then they uncover what's happened to her since he left. I think the way they ease her into everything is done well and in a believable way.
This book has a lot of action, mystery, bikers, beers, bike rallys, and some pretty hot sex. I loved the parts when we could see Pax's point of view, and how Teresa's feelings developed for him too. And the sexual chemistry between those 2 was explosive!
It wasn't my favorite book in the series, but it was a great addition to is. I'm sad this was the ending of it, I'll miss our bikers, but I'll definitely be looking forward to Jaci Burton's next book.

Spence is hot. And when he has to go work with special agent Shadoe, then things get hotter. Of course both of them are reluctant to act on that attraction because they are on a case and they should keep their focus on the job, but the sparks are hard to put out.
So why do I think this book has just about every checkmark on my list of sexiness must-reads? Bad boy biker, check. Part of a badass government organization, check. Sexy and badass chick, check. Sexy setting, check (A strip club in New Orleans). Did I make my case yet?
Spence is very alpha and intense. Shadoe is out to prove she can play with the big boys. They both have tough pasts and ultimately that helps cement a stronger bond than any physical attraction. They are a perfect fit, in and out of the bedroom.
The storyline is fast paced and action packed, while Shadoe and Spence are set to bring down a corrupt DEA Agent. Shadoe plays the part of a stripper and Spence is her boyfriend/bodyguard so they can both be in the thick of the action and get the clues they need.
Loved these two together, maybe my favorite couple so far. Definitely steamy and very well developed and likeable characters.
"You heard me." He pulled the chair around and sat in it. "I'm a paying customer. Strip for me." Spence's gaze followed her, and she teased him with a roll of her hip near his shoulder, barely grazing him. Emboldened by the sudden flash of heat in his eyes, she took it further, dragging the hem of her T-shirt up, baring the skin of her belly.

Don't you just love stories about the big tough guy that has been lusting after a younger girl and thinking he can't have her? Well, this was one sexy example of that!
Jessie has been with the Wild Riders for years and Diaz has been watching her grow up into a beautiful woman, where all the other members of the crew just see her as their kid sister. He's very protective of her but feels that he's too old and too damaged to deserve her. He has a tortured past and yes, he's one of those annoying heroes that think because his dad beat women, then he will too.
But now they are forced into a mission together. Jessie of course sees this, not only as her chance to prove that she deserves to be part of the group, but also a chance to steal Diaz's heart. Because she feels he never pays attention to her that way. Their mission is to infiltrate a motorcycle gang that is selling illegal guns to a survivalist group.
It takes time for Jessie to break through, but I loved her every step of the way. I wanted to be her at times and that didn't even have anything to do with the hot and smexy parts, although I would've wanted to be her then because Jessie and Diaz are SMOKING HOT, be warned!
Diaz on the other hand, yes he's sexy and alpha but I wanted to beat some sense into him quite a few times. Even with that, I couldn't help but like him and this was an amazing read, I loved the motorcycle gang storyline it was interesting and fit with their characters and kept the suspense level high on this great story, while still being heavy on the romance and sex. And of course the bikes and bike rallies... What more can you ask for?
"Oh, he noticed. All the wrong things. Like her curves. Her breasts. Her long legs and sexy voice. Her mouth. Her laugh and her quick wit. She made his dick hard. And he'd known her since she was a kid. Yeah, he noticed her all right. He'd tried to avoid her since her eighteen birthday when she turned those gorgeous green eyes on him in a way that made his balls quiver. She was smart - too damn smart for her own good. Jessie was one hellaciously sexy package that he couldn't touch. She made him crazy. He wasn't going to survive this assignment."

Starting with the fact that there really isn't anything hotter than bikers when mix them in a top secret military group. They're hot, they're bad ass, and they had my heart beating fast.
Then I love the fact that this story is about the girl next door who has now turned into a badass chick and running with the big boys. When Mac finds Lily is in the middle of an op. She was hired by the Museum to test their security (by breaking in herself) and she just happens to be doing this at the same time as the guy she was crushing on for a long time years ago actually broke in and stole a precious artifact.
When more people get involved and Mac gets shot he has no choice but to kidnap Lily and make a run for it. It's just Mac, Lily, the open road and a Harley.
The chemistry between these two was explosive. They have history but they've both changed. Mac is now a certified bad boy, reformed and now working for the "good guys". And oh yeah did I mention he's very alpha and hot as hell?
This story was suspenseful, fast moving, action packed and extremely sexy! Not to be missed!
"This was the wild life, the madness she's always wanted, needed with Mac. No one else had ever been able to give it to her. Only Mac could give her what she craved."

First things first... Look at that shiny new cover this book got when it was re-released this month! *drools* Although I already have the print with the old one, I maaaaaaay be tempted to buy this one as well.
But enough of that. This book is special to me because this was my very first read by Jaci Burton. Yep. I discovered her when this book came out because I was anxiously awaiting the last Nauti story by Lora Leigh. See why anthologies are so important? After reading this, I went back and pretty much have gone through I would say 85-90% of Jaci's backlist and she is now an auto buy for me.
Nauti Kisses by Lora Leigh - 4 Stars
This is the last chapter in the Nauti series. For an ending it was ok but it didn't blow me away and I think part of that was the fact that I really had no vested interested in the couple featured. John is Rogue's brother. We met him during her book and although I really liked her, I could take or leave her brother. He's big money, society and a hot shot lawyer. Which is a lot of what Rogue was trying to get away from. In his story we meet a woman that has been in love with John but he's always seen her as the innocent he didn't want to ruin. Except he ruins her and then can't remember it because he was so drunk! OK maybe that pissed me off a bit. When he leaves town, Sierra is attacked and nearly raped and John comes back to protect her. Much in the same way as the first Nauti book storyline goes. NAUTI KISSES worked well as a short story without leaving out any important details of their relationship. Of course it helped that the love and crush had been developing for years for my mind to come to terms with that. However, I thought a little more originality could've been put into this story being that it would end the series and maybe the couple choice should've been better or at the very least, the characters been more present in the previous book. But overall it was a good story and not a bad intro to Lora Leigh or the Nauti series if you haven't read either.
Riding the Edge by Jaci Burton - 4.5 Stars
Like I said before...new author for me when I read this and it blew me away. I mean, I can't resist a hot biker who is also some kind of special military type agent and riding with a bike gang. So basically Rick is assigned to protect a senator's daughter who is riding with the Hellraisers bike gang. Ava had decided to ride with the gang in order to try and see what was going on with her childhood friend Lacey, who had become involved with one of the leaders. Rick has to infiltrate the gang so that he can protect Ava but to make matters more interesting, this is the same gang that Rick used to hang with ten years ago when he was nothing but trouble and before the Wild Riders, and his cousin Bo is now the leader. Gives him an in but also puts a lot of doubt on everyone's minds as to his real reason for being there. Rick is just to die for! Take me on a ride on the back of that bike and runaway. HOT HOT HOT! Ava was young but not so stupid, loyal to her friends, smart about her choices and one all around lucky gal if you ask me. Rick is controlled and you would think intense and tough but he's got such a soft side when it comes to Ava. He truly makes her feel beautiful and cared for. And all this with just the right amount of danger while riding along all those hot rods. ;)
Ava blinked, forcing her eyes to adjust to the sudden light. Rick stood in front of her, bare-chested, his jeans unzipped all the way. She swallowed - or tried to - but found nothing to coat her throat. Da-yum. The man before her was a god, pure and simple. Tall, well muscled, bronzed, and gorgeous, with the kind of wicked smile that could make a woman hope and pray that he was thinking about her. Her gaze traveled down his chest, the wall of muscle at his abdomen, to the dark line of hair that led down to the hidden place where his jeans lay open.
