Just thinkin' about Tomorrow Clears away the cobwebs, And the sorrow 'Til there's none!
When I'm stuck with a day That's gray, And lonely, I just stick out my chin And Grin, And Say, Oh!
The sun'll come out Tomorrow So ya gotta hang on 'Til tomorrow Come what may Tomorrow! Tomorrow! I love ya Tomorrow! You're always A day A way!
well what if tomorrow is the same as yesterday... the people, the happenings, the occasion it's all the same and you won't live it just once but 7 times.. will you still look forward for tomorrow?
before i fall is definitely a great read. at first i thought the book would be boring cause (1) the number of pages (2) the 7 times occurrence of sam's death (3) first part of the book is like "mean girls." well good to see that I'm wrong cause even though the story is about 7 days of non-stop deja vu it's a good thing that in each day the main character is doing something new in the 7 re occurrence of her death.
another eye catcher is Julia Skyes i thought she'll be just an accessory to the whole book, i thought she'll be just the girl who'll say "your a bitch" but as the book progresses she became the major plot of the story and we'll get to know her more as you read on.
i only gave the book 4 stars because the ending is great and everything but to me the ending is kinda flat, I know that would have to be the most significant act that Sam has done throughout the book but I don't know the ending didn't quite satisfy me I can't quite point a finger on it i just feel like the ending is unfinished or something. ...more
you see this book's cover? you see how the boy is just inches apart from the girl like he is about to kiss her?? well let me tell you this! ha! don't let it fool you! this book is not about romance it's about LUST.MURDER.MYSTERY.LIES.RUNNING.FREEZING.AND A WHOLE LOT OF STARS. haha! :)
Amy- erm... Amy? what to say about Amy? Amy is actually a very neutral character in this book, you neither lover her nor hate her, she is not actually the type of heroine the you will love or get annoyed, i mean she is very neutral! i guess she is what you call an "in between" . i can describe her as being very inquisitive, smart and she loves her parents so much. so yeah i don't feel any character attachment to Amy.
Elder- yes, that's his real name! :). when i first met elder there is one word to describe him a pervert! ha! he actually likes looking at Amy naked on the frozen glass chamber plus having some perverted thoughts, he is very attracted to Amy cause she is different, cause you see in the godspeed (the spaceship) they are all mono ethnic meaning that they all look alike, so seeing Amy being all different with sunset hair and fair skin he is really fascinated with her.well his fascination led to something... hmmm.. let's just say that his fascination with Amy made him do something impulsive. *wink*
so elder is actually the future leader of the ship,he is thought by his mentor Eldest. at first i thought his a pervert but he is actually nice if you read on, i like the fact that he is not a "power hungry" type of leader like eldest
this my friends is the Godspeed! the whole book evolve around this spaceship, but even though the author made the setting of the story only in this spaceship, the author described it in the way, that you will not think that the characters are only moving on a limited place. i find this spaceship really cool, actually everything is described here being all so futuristic.
the plot of the book is actually about Amy being frozen with her parents in Godspeed ,they are expected to be awakened when they landed a whole new type of earth, so basically they should be awakened 300 years after, but Amy on the other hand was awakened 50 years earlier. and not only that but a lot of people is being murdered on their glass chamber, and its up to Amy and Elder to uncover who is the real murderer and uncover the lies on the ship.
the book is actually a page turner cause i am really anxious to know who is the murderer.
in a way the book is kinda weird cause of all the people in the spaceship being all impassive and being all zombie-like because of the drugs being spiked in their water. the "season" is another intriguing thing in this book, it actually means that it is the time of the month were people in the ship are about to mate like animals, they can all do it publicly like what animals does. >:) haha.
overall this book is actually nice, if you like mysteries and murder with a little hint of sci-fi on the side you get to actually like the book... my only criticism is that i don't feel any character attachment and the ending is kinda confusing, you really don't know who to trust in the end. :) ...more

reading this novel is like having a handful of chocolates, shove it in your mouth and leave a loud and satisfying "MMMMMMMMMMMM....."
hep!hep! this book actually has cliche written all over it, we all heard of boy meets girl, girl and boy becomes best friends and girl is falling for boy but wait! here's the catch... boy is already taken! (awww) at first i never thought that i would like this book, I was actually pretty skeptical about it but i am telling you! while i'm reading this book GOD! i was giddy, giggling, daze, flushed,i feel like 10 times lighter and i feel like butterflies are whirling in my stomach. (ohhhh.. love, love, love) haha!
i guess another thing that made me like this book even more is because of Anna, she is this neurotic, paranoid, nosy and childish girl but did those qualities made her annoying? NO! it's actually fun reading her perspective and i guess i feel a sort of attachment in her character and i admire her self control and will power, cause even though how much she wants St.Clair she still managed to fight the urges to fall for him, completely knowing that he is totally off limits cause he already has a girlfriend.
the plot itself will surely bring back memories of girls and boys alike regarding their love life i mean Come on! don't tell me you didn't fell in love with someone whose already have a boyfriend or girlfriend *wink*
It's really highly unusual for me to crave for a second book especially if it's a chick lit novel but I REALLY,REALLY want a second book! ha! hope Stephenie Perkins will make another chick lit novel or continue Ettiene and Ana's story ^^...more

i have seen a lot of reviews that this one is very twilight-ish, i didn't believe it cause does the title Deadly Little Secret sound twilight in the making to you??? i don't think so.
but then this is the first scene of the book
the very famous car saving scene in twilight, so i was still in denial that this one is twilight in the making kind of book. but then the resemblance are piling up like:
camelia and ben became LAB PARTNERS. and Ben has this "cold" touch
another one is
the confession in the forest. on what is Ben's Deadly Little secret. *sighs*
so let's cut to the chase this is somehow resembles twilight and to be honest i didn't enjoy reading this book sure there are mysteries on the side, but i find the mystery part predictable, and i don't like the dialogues in this book, maybe may E-book copy is just messed up. but people talk here like kids. (awww. i'm sooo sorry) well maybe the only redeeming thing here is the concept of "psychometry" I find it interesting i didn't know that Rogue's power (from X men) is called Psychometry. *sighs* i'm not up for the second book.. have seen bad reviews of it also, :(...more

RAW, his emotions, thoughts, actions, everything about him is raw it's like you can see right through him and i'll give credit to Gayle Forman for writing this book with such excellence cause i think it's really hard to write a book from a guy's perspective without being gay-ish when it comes to emotions. so KUDOS!!!
as for mia, the first couple of pages i really don't get her she left Adam without saying anything and out of the blue she'll come and say "hey! wanna hang out with me tonight?", and i am actually kinda mad at her but when she told Adam the real reason of why she left him. it was like a huge slap on the cheek . at first Adam is kinda mad at her but you really can't blame mia she has to live a life where her loved ones doesn't exist anymore, she has to get up knowing that she is the only survivor of the car crash.that part is like the most emotional part throughout the entire book. a huge wave of emotions will come crashing through you.
I'm glad it's a happy ending. Mia and Adam are finally together! whopeeee!! :D i heard this is going to be a movie??? so i'm kinda thrilled to know who will play Adam. LOL XD ...more
i just randomly read this book without actually knowing what is it about. i just know that this book is a winner of the"I go to seek a Great Perhaps."
i just randomly read this book without actually knowing what is it about. i just know that this book is a winner of the 2006 Michael Printz Award,
in looking for Alaska, it is told from Miles Hatler's POV he is in the search of "the great perhaps" and along his search he met Alaska Young who is very attractive but seems unstable and has very unpredictable actions and decisions and his roomate "the colonel" who is a walking atlas map,Takumi a japanese boy that is great in rapping and Lara the very rich and attractive Hungarian girl.
what i really like about this book is how John Green described the life of teenagers in very realistic way and i think every teen or used to be a teen can relate to this book i mean each and everyone of us comes to a point where your mom and dad will send you away and let's you study in a boarding school and along the way you'll get to meet people who can either corrupt you or send your way to sucess and you'll get exposed to smoking and drinking and yes curiousity about sex,you find it hard to adjust due the different professors and subjects. ^^. so as i'm reading this it actually got me laughing and saying "ha! i used to be like that when i started going to college"
While reading this book I actually thought that i'll be reading another YA fiction that deals with another case of unrequited love but it turns out that this book is so much more than that, it actually deals with grief and forgiveness and you also find yoursel getting out of the labyrinth and finding the answer to the great perhaps. ^^
i haven't given much thought on what this book is about, i didn't actually read the synopsis, my eyes just caught Amazon Best Books of the Month, January 2011 inscription in it so i decided to give this a try, another plus factor is the cover, it actually gave me the impression that this book is about werewolves since the cover has this dark and foggy atmosphere around it. It turns out that this book is about some cheesy romance and time traveling(note to self: don't be a book synopsis snob)
if ever i have to pick a superpower i would never pick up the ability to time travel, i just believed in this so called butterfly effect wherein a small change of an event can cause either creation or destruction i just feel like people shouldn't defy the occurrence of the events that is happening in their lives. so maybe my lack of appreciation about time traveling made me gave this book a 2 star rating. I'm not saying that the book was entirely bad the first couple of pages was actually enticing, the next pages was so-so. and then it got boring, i just don't get the essence of Michele's time traveling, sure she met the boy who's haunting her in her dreams and she get to meet her relatives, get to know about her family history but i don't know what good her time traveling has lead to. it just opened up some more questions.
i guess people will appreciate this book if like the movie Kate And Leopold and if you want a cheesier version of Fushigi yuugi....more

I am a solid Team Puck even though Ash is so charming and lovable and sensitive in The Iron Queen i never ever switched to his side.
so what to expect from Puck? of course we all get the perception that Puck is this Happy go lucky guy who always pulls up some pranks and tricks and always defies King Oberon's rules BUT did you ever see the heart broken side of Puck? kinda hard to believe but yes, in this novella we actually get to see the tormented side of Puck, *sniffs* cause Meghan chose Prince Ash instead of him, and i feel so tormented myself seeing MY jester (possessive much? haha!) so wound up.. aww.. nevertheless i enjoyed reading this novella for a second i actually thought that i will hate Puck (view spoiler)[for acting like he betrayed Ash. My second John Green Novel.i don't know what's with John Green that every time i finished reading his novel, i am speechless and dumbfounded for a reason i can't point out, but i know in the back of my mind i enjoyed every single page of reading his book.
up until now i am still speechless,so i'm gonna make a brief review.
since i've read looking for Alaska First and then this one, and i can't help but compare their similarities like:
- having an impulsive, prankster, adventurous girl in the story (Alaska and Margo) *check* - "Boys will be Boys" conversation*check* - realistic teenage characters *check* - an unusual name for boys (Quentin and Miles) *check* - a road trip with friends with adventures on the side *check* - unrequited love *check* - humor, humor and a whole lot of humor *check* - a goody two shoes main character who somehow learned to take risks(Q and Miles) *check* - i laugh my head off while reading it and then all of a sudden my eyes are brawling from tears *check* - i gave them both 4 stars *check*
so what made this book so special or different from looking for Alaska???
well i learned in this book that people are not like a note written on a paper that can be easily be read or understood, sometimes people tend to see what they WANT to see. Q thinks he loves Margo cause she is this very Hot,awesome and pretty girl but throughout his journey of finding her, Margo's clues did not only lead to her but also finding out her true identity. i guess what the book is trying to convey to it's readers is that sometimes our view of a certain person will never be enough to really know what that person really is.
i know the plot of the story resembles a lot with looking for Alaska but that didn't stop me of loving this book. wee.. let's read more John Green Novels.. :)
"Margo was not a miracle. She was not an adventure. She was not a fine and precious thing. She was a girl."

BEAUTY + MADNESS= UNWIND
Connor,Risa and Lev are normal teenagers but what made them different from other teenagers is that they are branded to be unwind, but what is an unwind? if you look it up in a dictionary unwind is the thing you do when you wanna loosen up, the things you do when you wanna relax or enjoy BUT unwind has a different meaning in this book, a very horrifying meaning...
in the near future in America Unwinding is harvesting organs of teenagers for transplant use, they are sent in a Harvest camp where they are evaluated and kept, and at some point on their stay they are sent to "chop shop" a place where the doctors/nurses/medical team harvest the various organs of the unwinds.
so here's the thing Connor, the main protagonist of the story is determined to escape his fate of being an unwound along his way he met Risa a former StaHo which is great in playing the piano but was scheduled to be unwound to cut the expenses of the orphanage that she's staying cause the orphanage believed that during her stay she met her full potential and he also met Lev, a tithe , which means he is designated to be an unwound as a religious sacrifice. being an unwound doesn't exactly mean that you have to die cause various parts of your organs given to different kinds of people but only a certain part of your body is living through them.
this book is very disturbing, you'll find yourself flinching, twitching, grimacing, wincing in some parts, just the thought of teenagers being sent on a harvest camp and to think that their parents has consent on their unwinding is sick! although this book is disturbing it's being disturbing at it's finest! God this book is genius! the story itself is very original, it's like beauty and madness combined together, at some parts i got to stop but once is stopped i feel like i am longing for the story. i feel like the book is haunting me. LOLZ. this book also introduce me to the terms such as "clappers"and "storking" but what actually got my attention are the clappers they are the term given for like suicide bombers they have some kind of chemical in their blood that will make them explode.
this book isn't entirely about the 3 teens escaping their fate there are side stories like the Humphery Dunfee story which sent shivers through my spine while reading it and of course another disturbing story is the story of CyFi which is like being possessed cause of getting a temporal lobe from an unwound.
i guess a 5 star rating is very much underrated, I'll give this book a millions or even a billion of stars if i have to.! >:) i highly recommend this to dytopia book lovers ...more

woooh! just finished reading CoFA! the wildly anticipated book of 2011. *inhales* *exhales*
i was really scared to read this book, cause i love this series, probably one of the best series i've read so far and i have seen a lot of bad reviews about this book and i'm the kind of reader that stops reading a certain book if i didn't like the previous one. so any-who i still manage to give it four stars. but i still don't know if i gave the proper rating. sheesh! this book is really hard to rate and judge! so anyway let's proceed to my review.
my first time to criticize a book cover. yay! so here's the thing i really don't know why Clary is in the book cover. i mean come on?! what did Clary do in this book ahm hmmm let's see... straddle her legs in jace's hips, kiss Jace's lips, grope Jace's muscle and a lot of groping,kissing,groping... haha! ok. i'm not an anti clary but i really don't get the idea of her being in the cover. i guess it will be OK if simon is in the cover, cause simon is really kick ass in this book he is the only reason that the story is stirring.
in my review in City Of Glass, i stated there that i wish that Jace and Clary won't lost their spark, cause you see when love is not forbidden anymore it kinda losses it's magic. well DANG! i think they lost it's spark! *grunts* well their love is still kinda somehow still forbidden but sheesh! when jace is pulling away from Clary and those "i-don't-wanna-lose-you-and-i-can't-stay-with-you-cause-i-might-hurt-you" crap is so...so...so... EDWARD CULLEN-ish! and the last thing i wanna do is to compare Jace to Edward! ay-yay-yay.!
on the plus side! -i adore SImon! i super love SIMON! i worship SIMON! awww! simon is soooooooo hot in this book! haha! i think i'm gonna be team simon now *weep* -i like how ms.Clare introduce me to Camille and Lilith. they are pretty interesting characters. :) -i love the Rain-Alley scene! yay! too bad izzy showed up.. :(
so did this book disappoint me?
well i'm 30% disappointed 70% satisfied. but it would be a really, really wise choice if Cassandra Clare just ended the book in City of Glass.
i was actually thinking of giving this book a 3 star rating but the ending is really good! and i guess i so-so kinda like the groping and kissing scene of jace and Clary. so i am not kinda actually excited for the next book, i mean i guess i can wait for it, i guess i won't go insanely crazy when the book is out. haha! i am more looking forward to Simon and Izzy relationship.
(view spoiler)[so here is actually the reason why i'm not excited for the next book:
* i hate seeing Jace being all tormented again! huhu. i hate it when he will torture himself again, and i hate it when those pianist hands of his will kill all the people he loves oww! and i know sebastian will do anything EVIL... gosh! i really can't bear the thought of Jace hurting Clary or anyone... ahhhh! i better fancy Simon instead so that it will be easy for me to accept the story line of the next book. haha~ XD. (hide spoiler)]
========= BY THE ANGELS! WHY DID THE BOOK END LIKE THAT???
Will make review soon!
i posted this picture cause this is what the ending is like! hmmm.. maybe professor quirell is not as HOT as Jace but basically this is the scenario. LOL haha! 1. anorexia/bulimia 2. suicide 2.family break ups
but mostly this book deals about anorexia and eating disorders.
i'm also a teen i'm only 18 years old. i am fully aware of eating disorders I,myself don't actually have the most modelesque body and i tried once shoving a finger in my throat to throw up what i ate and it's actually harder than i thought, the feeling is not pretty so i decided to stop doing it cause it didn't do any good to me. i just tried doing that out of curiousity and depression. so yeah i never get it why people have to shove a finger in their throat and have to starve themselves just to be skinny and pretty i know i sound so judgemental but as i tried to puke what i ate, it is not the nicest feeling in the world.
to Lia, Starving and not eating anything is like a daily routine for her even though how much her body wants to eat she kept on telling herself she doesn't want the food and that her body doesn't need it, she kept on counting calories of the food she takes and to be able not to feel the hunger she cuts herself . i actually can't blame Lia for being Anorexic, cause i can see that her life is a total wreck , her parents are divorced and she is grieving by the loss of her best friend.
reading from a perspective of an anorexic girl i guess it brought me a whole new light to them, i now know that they have really serious problems and their case are not actually been taken for granted. i mean food is life without it our body won't function well it's absence will highly affect our body's performance but i still don't understand why in some people's perception the epitome of beauty is skinny. i guess i'll never get to figure that one out, but i highly appreciate it that this book thought it's readers that being anorexic doesn't have benefits and starving won't do you no good.
what i don't like about this book is on how it is written. it's written in a very lyrical way and it uses a lot of flowery metaphor so i can't actually distinguish the real one and from Lia's hallucinations and lot of bad dialogues. ...more

forgotten is about London Lane, London is your very normal teenage girl except she hides a secret-- she isn't able to know what her past was, every time she goes to sleep she forgets what happened to her yesterday, enable to keep track of what she did recently she makes a note before she goes to sleep. but even though she doesn't know what her past was she is able to see through the future.
Forgotten's premise is something fresh and new. right? i was so intrigued with this book cause everything is just so new to me, Imagine living a life like London's? i can say that her life is really tough cause she isn't able to remember anything regarding her past, i mean what fun would it be to know things from the future but your past is blank? and everyday you have to make notes of what you've done recently enable to keep track of what you are doing, when i was reading this i can't help but feel so pained regarding London's situation I was like " and i thought my life is tough!?"
the book is something i would have finished with just one sitting cause of the very fast paced plot and the mystery is something that will make you grab on the edge of your seat. i was so much looking forward on what is London's dream about, i was thinking that maybe it's her funeral that she is seeing, but i was wrong (Super Major WRONG). the other thing that i really appreciate about this book is maybe the thought that there is really someone out there for you like there is actually a person that is meant to be with you and even disregarding your unnatural abilities, and even accepting you for what you are like how Luke still loved London even though he bears the tought that London won't be able to remember her the moment she wakes up (See? See? *pokes*)
Overall : A nice book, i would have given this one a 5 star rating cause of the story's originality but i was just so disappointed with the ending, if i have this book on a hard copy i would have juggle all through it's pages over and over again just to make sure i am reading it's ending, i guess i have no words to describe what the ending is i can't call it a happy ending or a cliff-hanger. so my supposedly 5 star rating reduced to 3 stars, but forgotten is a good book, i do recommend it to readers who likes to have a taste for contemporary YA Fiction. :) ...more

Juli Baker didn’t just barge in to my life. She barged and shoved and wedged her way into my life
This book is so darn cute! This is actually a coming of age love story between two kids, Bryce and Juli. We’ll get to witness how Bryce avoided juli, how juli falls head over heels over Bryce and we get to learn more about chickens, I personally didn’t know that hens can lay eggs without a rooster. Haha!
So anyways the first couple of pages of this book are very humorous because of the randomness of the subject that it tackles (the sycamore tree, the eggs, raising chickens, salmonella poisoning, hair sniffing… etc) but as you read on, this book actually talks about some serious matters cause we get a glimpse of what kind of family Juli and Bryce have. Bryce’s family is just your typical and normal family but his dad is very judgemental and making below the belt jokes and always hold prejudices against the Bakers, while juli’s family on the other hand is the image of the content and satisfied family, they may have some financial issues and family issues but they are happy to have each other, but I admire the most is Juli’s dad. He’s the kind of dad that is understanding and forgiving and I admire his compassion to his brother , he actually reminds me of Ronnie’s dad in the book the last song.
(view spoiler)[ the book is titled Flipped because the tables have turned between Bryce and Juli, cause in the end Bryce was the one who is falling for juli, he is the one who is madly in love with her., and honestly saying, it’s really cute (hide spoiler)]
I’m really unaware that this book is made in to a movie.

book review originally posted @ the YA bookworm yay! can't believe i have a Blog, haha! a major thanks to Google for tutoring me on HTML codes, LOL. ok,ok enough about me being a noob in blogging and HTML. :>
i decided to read this book cause this book is always featured in listopia (a feature on goodreads) it says that if you like Hunger Games you will like this book as well, since i just finished reading Mockingjay and I'm kinda looking for a YA dystopia kind of book that is as good as The hunger Games so i gave this one a shot.
This book is about in a society where everyone is classified as being Pretty and Being Ugly.the Pretties lives in New Pretty town while the Uglies lives in Uglyville, but as you turned 16, everyone is required to go through a transformation of being Pretty, So our Gal, Tally is anxious to be pretty cause she is excited to be with her bestfriend Peris who just recently undergone the transformation of being a Pretty, but Tally can't become one of the Pretties unless she'll help Dr.Cable to find her runaway friend, Shay. if she refuse to cooperate she will stay as an Ugly FOREVER!
so first thing first, this book is nothing like the Huger Games. i guess the concept of the way the people in the society lives is pretty cool, can you imagine living in a life where you are subjected to be pretty?no one will tease you and make fun of you, but in the back of my mind i find it morbid to defy to change the way we look. i just finished reading the book and up until now i don't get the essence or the author's point on why in this book they have to make everyone pretty. if people in this book just want to control the minds of people in their society, why can't they just do that? why do they have to make them pretty too???
as for the characters, Tally at first i find her annoying cause she is soooo darn desperate to be a Pretty, but as you read on i can't actually blame her for wanting to be pretty cause all her life, her 16 years of existence she is branded as an Ugly and the way they used the term Ugly in this book is like you are an outcast to the society, the term UGLY is being referred as of today being called POOR, while being pretty on the other hand is like being called RICH. I actually like Shay more than Tally. cause Shay is like the kind of girl that is so Katniss-like, i actually thought she is the main character of the book cause she is the one determined to defy the society's law of being pretty, and i like the fact that she likes the way she looks.
i guess the moral of the book is Beauty is skin deep. that's the Moral i got form david and tally's relationship. but i dont feel any spark between them their relationship has no magic effect on me.
i gave this book 2 stars cause it is a tolerable book, some parts are boring and i guess there is no point of the book where i was excited to read it. the ending didn't even make me excited for the next book. so i guess i recommend this book if you just wanted something to read, or you just want to kill the boredom that you are experiencing. ...more

as all of have know i am eagerly awaiting for this book, cause i have finished the entire book series and i was really shocked that the author came up with another one my mind just went blank when i heard that Sara Shepard will make another installment of the book series, i was like "OMG!!! the girls won't have their happy ending yet!" *evil grin* . so i have really a high expectation for this book.
this book continued where the previous book has left of, this talks about the life of the 4 girls after Alison's attempted murder, one thing i noticed about this book, is nothing really much has change the girls are still flirty, stupid and gullible as ever, they keep on making the same mistake over and over again!!! I mean come on??? are they that stupid?? gee! (sorry!) gosh!
one thing to look out for in this book is maybe the 4 girls has another secret that they are keeping and A is on the look out to reveal their secret, i guess that's what i am just looking forward in this book, and when i was reading this i can't help but to feel sorry for Aria,Hanna,Spencer and Emily.. they deserve to have at least a normal life but gee... they never get a chance to have a decent life.
Overall: I think you would like this if you are a true blue PLL fan and just adore the characters that much, for me i think i have enough of it. i guess it would have been a great idea if the book just end in Wanted. *sighs* but it is still a nice mystery book, i just think i got tired of the characters and the plot. IDK if I'll read the next one.

this is my first Meg Cabot Novel, I only know Meg Cabot for writing the Princess Diaries series, so i read this book thinking that it's a chick lit novel. eventually i was wrong. this book is actually about the retelling of "The rape of Persephone" it's the old Greek myth where Hades, the lord of the underworld kidnapped Persephone and made her queen of the underworld. (ha! thanks to the Percy Jackson series for giving me this info) ^^
so basically the book's main character is Pierce Oliviera, she died once and escaped her death. Along with her coming back to life she brought a necklace with her, a necklace given to her by John or should I say the Hot version of Hades. LOL, that is supposed to keep her away from evil forces (the furies). so at first when i am reading this book i was a bit confused cause the intro did not exactly explained Pierce's death or her coming back to life. since i seldom read book synopsis, so eventually i have no idea what's going on the story, but as you read on you will get the whole idea of her death and her connection to John.
so did i like the book?
well actually some parts are tolerable, i keep on thinking on it's relation to the "rape of Persephone" cause Pierce actually escaped the underworld by throwing a hot cup of tea to John's face so meaning she is not held captive in the Underworld unlike in the myth. this is told from Pierce POV, i don't know if she is really naive or that she doesn't really have sufficient knowledge on her surroundings, she is just kinda actually an impassive character in this book.
as for John, well ha! John is actually my eye-candy... eepppp! i have a huge crush on him he reminds me of Dimitri of vampire academy.
in overall the book is an OK read, kinda boring in some parts but the ending is good, and I'm a sucker for Greek myths and any mythology related books. so I'm quite satisfied on this one, i recommend it to people who like Greek myths as well.
so this book is actually a trilogy and i guess I'm looking forward for the next two books. :) =====

I was so excited to read this book cause for the first time i saw its cover i was so in love with it, never haveOriginally posted @ The YA Bookworm
I was so excited to read this book cause for the first time i saw its cover i was so in love with it, never have i seen a very dark book cover, like the cover is enough for me to presume what is the story all about, i actually have this book's cover as my wallpaper on my phone (yeah, yeah i am that obsessed ^^ ).
anyways, let's proceed with the review... the book is actually about Cas Lowood who has the ability to slay ghosts, actually he slays ghost for living, until he met the ghost named Anna, Anna dressed in Blood...
ok, i really enjoyed reading this YA Novel, it's actually my first time to read a YA lit about ghosts, the first couple pages of the book is actually the moment when you really have to grasp the book to keep up with everything, i really find the first couple of pages of the book a bit more climatic than the middle part of the book.
i fing Anna a very interesting kind of ghost, the way Cas' describe her is really interesting he is like a ghost that is pretty with a dark edge to it, i can describe her a "Deadly yet Elegant" i was actually mostly looking forward to her story, like how was she killed? what was her life before she became a ghost, and thank god the author provided the most detailed and substantive information regarding my questions, when you know Anna Kurlov's story you will go like "OMG!! this is so much like Carrie's story!" (you know Carrie? the old classic horror movie with the shy and timid girl who turns psycho cause she was spilled with blood while being awarded as prom queen) that is how much Anna's story s like it was shocking, . On how was she killed, it never crossed in my mind that she was killed.
another thing i appreciate about this book is that reading from Cas's POV is really how i expected a boy to think, lot of swearing, curses and stuff like that, i like it cause coming from an author that is a girl (Kendare Blake is a girl right??) writing a novel from a guy's POV is kinda hard and as far as i know many girl author fail to deliver a smooth POV from a boy as their main character. so two thumbs up for ms.Blake you have really done a good job in writing this one fantastic novel. I am mostly looking forward on how cas and Anna's blossoming romance would be like, although it kinda bothers me on how Cas can fall in love with a ghost, not just a ghost but a DEADLY GHOST, but i guess that is the power of love.
i Guess I am not the only one that's looking forward for the next book, Girl of Nightmares has still have an indefinite date on when will it be published, kyaaa!! I am also looking forward on what will be the cover be like... :))

this book is actually featured in the twilight saga fan page on facebook, i forgot if Stephanie Meyer was the starred review of the book or if she recommends this book to her fans, so i decided to gave this one a try since as far as i know books that have stephanie meyer as it's starred author are great reads (hunger games and mortal instruments)
anyway this book is actually about a zombie named "R" who fell in love with a human girl. i have read a lot of book were the undead always get to have a love interest with humans but a ZOMBIE loving a human is just so ahm... awkward. Creepy. Disturbing. but maybe the thought of having a zombie loving a human is kinda funny don't you think?
Is the book Funny/humorous?
a BIG HUGE NO! i laugh occasionally on some parts where "R" the zombie get to marry another girl zombie and they get to have kids that will never get old, but reading from a zombies' perspective is kinda boring and R is really emotional cause i feel like he is a patient that is sick and he is incapable of talking and he is really willing to become human again added the fact that he doesn't know anything regarding his past. So i better keep in mind that zombies are a huge NO,NO if i wanna join the undead club
2 stars for the book cause again I am in bored, skip chapters, skim. so i can finish the book, but as the story goes on it's really kinda OK, i just think that there is nothing special to it. ...more
Kate- kate is actually the nicest daughter in the whole wide universe! she actually gave up her teenag Originally posted @ The YA Bookworm
Kate- kate is actually the nicest daughter in the whole wide universe! she actually gave up her teenage life for taking care of her mom who has cancer. she won't date or go out and have a time of her life, she is actually a SAINT! cause to her time is precious she rather spend her time with her mom, cause she thinks the time left for her is ticking and she is actually a good friend she doesn't hold grudges to people who hurt her.
Henry- Henry is the lord of the underworld in this book, so basically he is Hades, i grew up thinking hades is a bad guy, but in this book Aimee Carter introduced a very different kind of Hades, the misunderstood kind, cause Hades in this book is so gentle the kind of guy you will to take home and meet your mom and dad, the kind of guy you will want to spend your life with and henry's lines in this book are so poetic the kind that will make your heart melt. haha!
after reading this i will delete this image of hades out of my mind. LOL
so this is again another retelling of the "rape of Persephone" but this one has a little something to it because Kate is should pass seven kind of test to make her immortal. so basically another added myth retelling here is "Labors of Hercules" wherein hercules has to finish 12 tasks enable to gain immortality after his death.
i don't know if some myths are messed up or changed cause some facts about mythology are different here like:
- Persephone was not kidnapped she was willing to become queen of the underworld, then she fell in love with a mortal, when that mortal died she chose to come with him and left hades -14 Olympians/ Council (erm.. as far as i know there are only 12) -diana is the roman name for Demeter ( ahm, Diana is actually the roman name for Artemis, goddess of the wild) -different names for the gods and goddesses -cereberus is a great dane (haha! i'm that observant eh?. LOL. i'm just kidding i don't care if cereberus is a great dane or a 3 headed dog) haha!
well i don't know if these are true or maybe Aimee Carter just changed some Myth facts in order to have a good flow of the story but Mythology can actually be derived in different time and places so maybe she get these facts in some other myths.
i gave the book 4 stars cause even though some myths are different, i like how this book is written this is a very light read, you actually wouldn't know that you are about to finish the book, and i like how Aimee Carter cut Hades some slack, cause she showed a different kind of lord of the underworld here the one that is tormented and humble.
so i wanna read the next book cause as far as i can see i am sensing a love triangle here cause James i think is also in love with Kate, so let's see how will the 2 gods fight for their hearts. :)
the book is about again the sidhe, the ability of a human to see through faerie glamour. first thing i noticed abouOriginally posted @ The YA Bookworm
the book is about again the sidhe, the ability of a human to see through faerie glamour. first thing i noticed about this book. I like the main character's name, Aislinn. the name is very unique, but my like for the main character just stops there, Aislinn is a kind of girl that is not capable of finishing her lines like for example, imagine this scenery with me.
(Aislinn knocks on Seth's door to confide about her date with Keenan)
*Knock,Knock* (Seth opens the door)
Seth: Ash, what's wrong? Aislinn: I... He... I can't... Last night... I don't know! *sobs*
see? gosh! she is like that when depression strikes and it is jst so frustrating! OMG! why can't she finish her lines? haha! OMG! but i guess i get to like Aislinn in the end ( JUst a bit) cause maybe she gets to be a little tough.
Moving on to the concept of the book, so another story about the Sidhe Seer eh?i have seen different faces of the Feys like there is the joyful kind, the kind that wants to torture humans, the erotic kind, the trickster and so on. well in this book what kind of faeries did i see? ahmm. i guess the EMO kind, cause i have to say that the book is written in a dark lyrical way, what I mean is the book has no trace of humor in it, not a moment in the book a broke a grin, it's just that faeries are really serious in this book, and it's really nice that Melissa Marr made a whole new impression of Feys in here the kind that maybe has a capability of feeling a certain emotion. and i did enjoy reading Donia's POV. i like how she is tormented with her iciness and that she is trapped, i feel sorry for her.
another love triangle blossoming in this book AGAIN! so which side i'm on? well I'm team seth, i like his piercings and sincerity, come on! he waited 7 months for Ash i give him credit for that and also maybe the medical test that he undergo to is maybe a bit funny but hmmm i find it sincere that he will do anything that so he can prove that he is clean. right? *grins* Keenan on the other hand is the intimidating kind, so not my type.
the ending of the book is just so confusing and i don't know what to expect next, as for Donia i can say that she deserved to be a Queen after all what she's been through.
this is an overall nice read, the reason i gave it a 3 stars is because of Ash's incomplete lines, but i like the faeries here, something new to moi. so will read the next book of the series --- INK EXCHANGE. ...more
This is my first YA book that talks about ghost, i've been reading goosebumps ever since, and R.L Stine really contributed a lot of ghost stories in mThis is my first YA book that talks about ghost, i've been reading goosebumps ever since, and R.L Stine really contributed a lot of ghost stories in my childhood, so this is my first YA ghost book, i was expecting to be scared and ready to have nightmares when i finished reading this, cause the book cover really gave me the hibbie gibbies it's like some demented kid carve out the words "cryer cross" in his desk, and the cover kinda reminds me of freddy kruegger the guy in nightmare at elm street cause he is fond of scaring his victims in a school setting.
so anyway, this book is about Kendall and her issues with her OCD, the concept of the book having a character who has OCD is something that i really liked, cause i think i have slight OCD myself but not as bad as Kendall's so in a way i can relate to the main character on how she multiple checks everything and organize everything and over thinking things.
the ghost story in this book is kinda OK, there is a part of the book that is written from the "WE" perspective which is assume were the ghost, and what they are saying is kinda scary cause i really feel their hunger for vengeance and freedom, when the real story is revealed it's kinda sick and it surely gave me goosebumps. I don't know the story is good in a very twisted way.
i gave the book 3 stars because the first couple of pages is just about Kendall grieving and confused with the loss of her Best friend and she starting to hear alluring voices that is drawing her in and i guess i was wanting more from the story. i wish the story is longer. i recommend this book to guys and gals who wants a good tiny bit of scare.
the title of this book series is Gods and Monsters, well the book really lived up to it's title cause thisOriginally posted @ YA Bookworm
the title of this book series is Gods and Monsters, well the book really lived up to it's title cause this book has Gods (yeah, yeah the Greek ones) and monsters (vampires, harpy, gorgons), sure i encountered gods and monsters combined except maybe for the vampire part, but i never read a book that has gods, monsters, vampires, warlocks and witches. *whoa too much mash-up occurring here*
this book is actually about a girl named ari, who lived a very tough life, her mom left her when she was still a baby and her mom was proven to be demented and killed herself, so she was sent on many foster homes and eventually her foster parents also abuse her, so her suffering doesn't stop from there her features are somehow different because she has different hair color (silver/white) and her eye color is really different among the others.so basically she is a called a FREAK throughout her life. *sighs*
first thing i noticed about Ari is that she use swear words a lot, well i guess i understand that cause her past is really something hard to go through and those are the kind of experience in your life that will eventually will make you as hard as a rock, so anyway i like Ari cause even though she swears a lot i think she is another i guess i admire her determination and perseverance and having like enough strength to move on what happened to her life.
regarding the plot, well i can say that it's a huge roller coaster ride, at first i thought it somehow resembles Beautiful Creatures cause dark magic was very much a theme in the book, but i was so totally wrong! gods and mythology is also in here like medusa and harpy and well Athena, Athena was introduced in this book as being the Goddess of the war not wisdom and she is actually the bitch-est among the bitch-est (OMG! annabeth will be so pissed) Athena here is heartless and well yeah a bitch. LOL ^^. curses are also present in this book and i am telling you that i wad freaking frustrated on what is Ari's curse is. well it turns out that when she is 21 years old she will become a *TOOOOOOT* gee, i'm so not gonna tell you, don't wanna spoil your reading. haha!
fine i'll give you a hint: AUNTY EM ^^
this is an overall a fantastic read. I recommend it to guys and gals who are mythology nerds (like me). :)
*sighs* isn't the cover so breathtaking?? *sighs* that violet eye is really something.
this book is absolutely amazing! i enjoyed reading every single page of it, the opening is delivered really good cause the opening is about Gemma having this nightmare wherein a pair of glowing eyes is on to kill her.
The concept of the book is hard to get first, cause the title of the book is "The Fallen Star" and i don't get at first it's relation to Gemma, cause Gemma is actually this weird girl who is incapable of feeling any emotion until a new guy came to her class, Alex then she started to feel this electric buzzing, prickling her skin and then it turns out that a fallen star's energy is reeling through her and that energy is needed to open a gate to release the "Death Walkers" who by the way are the creatures hunting Gemma's dreams.
so the first couple of pages I get to read thought from Gemma (it's written in a 1st person POV) so i get to witness how childish she thinks and i guess Gemma mirrored the thoughts of what a normal girl will think, added the fact that throughout her life she's been branded as a weirdo and a loner, so i enjoyed reading her perspective she is so darn funny BTW, she reminds me of Anna from the Book Anna and the french kiss.
the maybe near half of the book is really good! i was so ready to give it 5 stars a lot of "supernatural" concept is introduced in this book (vampires, foreseers, black angel, keepers, faeries, city of crystals) so yeah, kinda sound TMI to you right? well this book is kinda TMI-ish BUT! this one is so different, kinda resembles TMI but in a good way, cause some added stuff are introduced here and the concept of foreseers is really something new to me.
the ending is such a darn Cliff hanger my mouth was hanging Open! OMG! darn! why did the book end like that, really??? seriously??? i have encountered a lot of cliff hangers, but this one is so darn unforgivable! ha! you wanna know the ending?? i won't tell you! ( using my most teasing voice) you'll just have to read this one to find out.

Armentout, thWOW! greek Mythology is a trend in YA novels these days, this is actually just a teaser from the new book series covenant by Jennifer L. Armentout, this is actually like the Percy Jackson series, so we get to meet another tough chick demigod, Alex. the only difference of this book is that Alex is fully aware that she is a demigod and she is actually trained in the "covenant" to fight off the daimons.
Overall this is a very nice read, OMG! can't wait for the next book, i didn't actually read the teaser chapter 1 of the first book, cause i know it will make me longing for more.
Early guesses for the next book -Alex is Appollo's daughter -the mysterious gray eyed boy in Alex's dreams is maybe a God more like zues' son. ????
the first book in the series is out on September 15,2011... so mark your calendars!!!
"Love is the most powerful force in the world. That love can do anything." - Jonathan Christopher Lightwood
Imagine a world where love cannot exist or better yet it is considered a sickness... it the thought is kinda absurd but in Lena's world such thing exist, at the age of 18, each ad every people in their society is subjected for the cure, a cure is more like taking away your feelings towards love, thus making your emotions dormant so you won't experience Deliria Nervosa or in my point of view, delria is more like the scientific term for being Madly in love along with the process of being cured is also finding your Match through series of test that you are required to undergo.
this is my second novel from Lauren Oliver, i did enjoy reading before I fall. but this one i didn't enjoy as much. haa! when i first started reading this and reading the concept of the book, I was like "OMG! they found a cure for LOVE! OH MY GOD!" i don't know but the thought of finding the cure for love is like completely ridiculous to me, i just think that love is really, really IMPOSSIBLE to defy! i would have accept it if they found a cure for cancer but NO! they found a cure for love. ay-yay-yay! i know love can make you go crazy and everything but gosh! i mean come on! people can't die out of love! it's more of their choice if they don't wanna move on. (my,my i'm I incredulous of the thought or what?)
another thing that I'm ranting about this book is that it's not really a dystopian novel, not a single thing is futuristic here, just maybe for finding the cure but the setting is nothing dystopian, everything is so chick lit-ish and paranormal romance-ish and Lena and Alex just fall in love with like a snap of fingers like one blink and then BAM! their in love.
on the bright side i did like Lena's character progression in the book, at first we get to see her as this very nice, goody good girl who doesn't know how to take risks but as you read on you will be really impressed on how Lena goes to the wild side, and i just think that such character progression is really impressive cause we get to see the character gets to change within the book, cause some characters takes several book installments before you see some change in them, another thing is the ending. the ending made my heart rate just sky rockted to 10 times , WOW! the ending is just so darn dramatic.
here's my thoughts while reading the book
1st half: meh. 2 stars. 2nd Half: still 2 stars (so certain and sure) Ending: Dang!!!! gosh! Oh MY GOSH! OK another star! gee! gosh! OH MY!
haha! still i never thought the book will end like that, i was taken off guard so i add an additional star for my supposedly rating. hihi *evil grin* I'll read the next one for sure. ...more
