I just can't find any words to say to this book. It was Hot, sultry, dirty, full of lust, compelling. argh! I cannot find any way to say this but this book is totally crazzzyyyyy!!! It got me yanking my hair out just to know what the secret is. The book is set in a posh life of a girl named Layana. She found the love of her life. But everything changed when she knew that her boyfriend has a major secret he is hiding.
The book got me gripping. I want to tear every page so i can get the part on what the secret is, The whole plot pretty much won't leave you any clues on how can there be such a big secret lurking in this book. Seriously?? I did not see that coming. It hit me like a BANG! The author lead us to this very twisted story that you think is a typical romance novel with a typical twist. But it's not. This book got me questioning everything! When I found about the secret. I was backtrackking every page of the book and got me saying "Oh that's why she did that", "Oh that's why she said that" , "That's why she acted that way."
Reading this book is such a surreal experience. I really don't know what to think. It is so messed up in a very beautiful way. I don't know what to think of it. But still I gave it a 5 star rating it was that good, in the most undesirable way. I have encoutered two books with the same twist and turns. Next time I will be prepared. I will not be fooled if ever i will encounter the same kind of book again. ...more

it turned out it did what i just expected . the book has one interesting prose. a teenage boy killing his own family not knowing why or what his real motives are. it got me really really hooked just by reading the summary and as i read on the pages of the book it seems like this book was in a quick phase unlike my previous encounter with the Gone Girl. i was not bored reading it and reading different prespective fron Patty, Ben and Libby made this book have variety and didn't get me bored.
the book features abuse, sex and devil worshipping the book was twisted I have no idea some people think like that. (Diondra was the most twisted of them all) the book will not be from Gillian Flynn if it wasn't twisted, it was also disturbing made me flinch and take deep breaths while reading it . The book just held a really deep meaning like things that made me feel really uncomfortable that I feel like the ending for me didn't make me feel satisfied, i still think gone girl has a far better twists and turns and has a good ending than this one....more

i am trying my best to not spill out somre spoilers, but if you've seen the movie jawbreaker<\i> it would pretty much sum up the whole story of this book...
you've got to read it if your in for romance and mystery and teenage drama. :)...more

I feel like my rating in this book is very questionable. The story starts with this married couple on their 5th wedding anniversary. Amy (The wife) went missing leaving only subtle and vague clues on her whereabouts. It seems interesting at first. I mean. I just love mystery so much, and part of reading this is because of that reason. in the back of my mind I was thinking " This will blow up my mind!" but what happened to me is exactly the opposite. When I was reading this book I was always on the verge of sleeping every time I grab my ebook copy of it.
But the book got interesting on the second part. I mean on this part of the book, you will think all kinds of vile things that you can think about Nick and Amy. I was really confused on what the plot of the book is. I can't begin to muster what really happened to him. but... (view spoiler)[ It turns out that Amy is framing her husband on killing her cause she caught him having an affair on his 23 year old student. (hide spoiler)]
The story was good. don't get me wrong it has an unbelievably twist on the near end part. I would have given it a 4 or 5 star rating, but I was just so bored when I was reading this one. so minus two stars for the book. just one tip of advice who is about to read it. JUST BEAR with it while reading it, trust me it gets boring, a lot of dialogues are here and there. but It'll get good I can guarantee that.
I guess no one will guess what really happened to Amy. the whole secret lingering in this book will just shocked you. I never saw that shocking twist at the end. I just have such indescribable emotions as I am at the peak of the conclusion. but yeah. if it wasn't for the boring opening I would have loved this book even more. :|["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more
wow! i was completely amazed on how twisted this book was. I was actually disturbed on how was the first book is written , and i was expecting this bowow! i was completely amazed on how twisted this book was. I was actually disturbed on how was the first book is written , and i was expecting this book to be as twisted and as creepy as the first one. but NO! it surpassed on how crazy the first book was. Golly! i never expected it to be this way. Cathy is like an unleashed, untamed animal hungry for revenge! (and by that i love her so much) teehee, ow, don't get me wrong I hate Cathy for being all over the place, she is like sleeping with every man she ever encounter like eww.! (she even slept with a 40 year old guy, like sleeping with your brother is not enough gee...) even as questionable the content of the book is, even the taboo is all over the place. still. I loved the ending so much! GOSH! is Cathy becoming really crazy and twisted like her mom?! by the little act she pulled at the end of the book i am half convinced myself that maybe she is a Devil's Spawn. REALLY?! seriously! I am telling you! she is about to lose it. yikes!
I really like how this book is written, you know? kinda discreet even though it contains a questionable content, and i really like how the book highlighted Cathy's thirst for vengeance. whew! she literally blames everything to her mom! Every unfortunate event she encountered it all leads back to her mom! as much as i want to read the next three books. i can't seem to find any copies of it. *curses*. overall this book is such a ride. it'll make you sick. I promise you that but then again at the end you will fill satisfaction. That I can guarantee. :P

well actually i have never encountered a book as twisted as this, (another FIRST) awed at first, but then again even how wrong in every angle the plot and story is, it still captivates me, i want to read on and on and on until i finish the damn thing! i can't explain why, but the story is so god the book itself has mystery in every page you just have to savor ever bit of it just to satisfy yourself. it was that good but most of the time i feel frustrated in every page cause i just feel so sorry for the Dollanger kids. Kids of their age shouldn't experience that kind of sadness and torture. Filled with false hopes and dreams that one day their Momma will take them out of the attic and be filthy rich.
and I hate GRANDMA and MOMMA Foxworth. YES! i would beat and kill them if ever such people exist in this world. they are pure evil and i can't bear the inhumane things they did to the Dollanger kids, really! they beat them, starve them and lock them up in the attic. i can maybe tolerate how the Grandmother did this to them, but i was about to burst out of range when I have learned the awful truth that even the Mother is planning on killing her own kids cause she could keep her inheritance. BY GOLLY! that BITCH DESERVE TO DIE AND ROT IN HELL!
as for y'all who want to read this, the book is very very twisted, and you're in for a ride. it talks about abuse, incest and a lot of inhumane things that surely not of a typical person would think of doing. but yeah it is one hell of a book and surely i'll remember this one forever. i heard the couple of books in the series is even more controversial and even twisted as this one... but i am for the second book and see how the story of the Foxworth children will be. and we'll see if i still get to love this series or hate it as i read the next book of the series....more

My first read this sembreak. and I enjoyed it. :D
Alice in Zombieland didn't quite capture my expectation on what this book would be, i thought that it is gonna be like the fairy tale Alice in Wonderland , but the caterpillar, mad hatter and cheshire cat would be all zombies and Alice is the savior of wonderland from the zombies lurking in it. The book is nothing at all like that.
But I did get to see a hint of Shadowhunter vibe in this novel, I mean teenagers killing Zombies who are invisible to the naked eyes of mere humans?? hmmm. Smells like TMI to me. haha! but nevertheless i did enjoy the whole zombie concept, something new and refreshing I've been living my whole life thinking that if a zombie bit you, you will become a zombie yourself. well the thing is in this book, it doesn't go like that. and after the forest of hands and teeth ,i haven't quite enjoyed any Zombie books lately, and I haven't been anywhere near a book for about 3 months now, so this one just fit all my depressions and longing. kyaa..
the characters are really nice, Alice is a character that i really look up to, she is in a deep set of depression cause of what happen to her parents. and I really admire how strong she is, and she thinks that killing zombies is her main purpose in this world.I just love her character.
overall the book was an incredible read for me, the book cover is something i like also. I am definitely looking forward for the next book. i like to see more Cole and Alice moments. and also I want to see Kat and Frosty moments also. I mean, what would happen to Kat and Frosty if Frosty knew what kind of sickness Kat is carrying. i really can't wait.. :D ...more

HAH! and I just really adore Hartly... reading her thoughts just made me laugh up until the last page of the book!! Yeah! that's how adorable she is.!
I wonder what would be the next book like, I hope it will be more excititng than this one, and I am looking for the blossoming Romance between Chase and Hartley... this book has a very interesting synopsis and of course the book cover is actually enough for everyone to go GAGA, well if you are like me that was so itching to read this book, i can tell you that this book was not as great as i thought it would be. sure Mara Dyer's story is something that is really interesting, she woke up in a hospital, her friends are dead and she is the only one who survived and no one knows what happened to them except for her, but here's the catch she has no memory of what happened to her.
Something really interesting eh? well at first yes, it was interesting. but as the story goes on i can't help but to feel a little bored, Mara Dyer is the kind of character that i just so love to hate, i really don't know what is wrong with her she seems like the kind of girl that doesn't think of rational actions the only thing that makes the story tolerable is the mystery that lies in the life of Mara Dyer, the hallucinations and stuff are a bit eerie, kinda scary to be honest.
as for the dashing dude of the story,Noah. he is actually the only bad boy in YA Fiction that i wasn't drooling for, i guess because he is just so darn arrogant and well an A-Hole kind of dude.
when the mystery was revealed, I was Like "DANG!!! THAT'S IT???" i have been so tolerable of Mara and Noah cause i wanna know what kind of powers they posses but man! after i found out what kind of powers they posses i was really disappointed, i really think their powers are not that useful to humanity and for a girl like Mara to posses that kind of power is just well, a bad combination. Noah on the other hand has a good power lies within him, but erm the powers showed here is kinda off for my taste (view spoiler)[ Imagine a girl who kills people by using her mind and a boy who heals any kind of injuries (hide spoiler)]. ermmmm.... i don't get the point of it and all what does this means that fate brought Noah and Mara together so that (view spoiler)[Mara can kill or injure all kinds of people and Noah can fix it. Teehee.. didn't mean to Rant and all. harhar! >:)
overall: if you are so darn excited to read this book, please don't expect too much cause you'll be disappointed. I was suppose to give the book 2 stars but since i am lusting over the cover and the ending is good might as well give an additional star. :D (hide spoiler)]["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more
when i actually finished reading this book i really don't know how to make a review out of it, i just think Imaginary girls iwhat to say? what to say?
when i actually finished reading this book i really don't know how to make a review out of it, i just think Imaginary girls is the kind of book that left me really dumbfounded when i finished reading it, and oh trust me, i was speechless not in a good way, not in a very good way at all.
let's first go with the pros of the book:
I think the book has a very captivating premise plus the very nice book cover! oh come on! the book cover is really nice! the book cover is enough for me to think that this book is filled with mystery and the tag line "secrets never stay below the surface" is something really eerie and creepy and I am the kind of reader that is in to secrets and mystery.
second one is the writing style, i like how the book is written in a way it's kinda poetic and lyrical combined with the eeriness of it. it made me feel like the town of Olive is really Haunted.
ok lets proceed with the Cons:
I think Ruby's character is the most Love her or hate her character ever!! OMG! for one moment you will like her cause she cares so much of her younger sister Chloe, but at times you think she is just one hell of a bitch, she actually reminds me of Alison Dilaurentis in the Pretty little liars series, she is just plain manipulative and everyone adores her, but behind all those smiles and people adoring her, deep inside everyone hated her. >:)
i think the story has potential but it would have been great if the author provided a short glimpse or a side story on why Ruby has the ability to rise people from the dead or better yet she should have provide a history regarding the Reservoir, I mean a lot of question is swirling in my mind like, Is the reservoir really haunted? does it have lost spirit in it? after reading this book none of my questions were answered and i think the book just really left a reader like me very confuse and well really blank.
I just hoped that the story is really has a solid plot, there was this moment when i was reading this book and i was like "what the hell am I reading?" i can say that Imaginary girls is the kind of novel that has a scattered plot, i can't even come up with the right words on how to describe the story.
I'm not saying that the book is really bad, you should try it out if you like mystery, and if you happen to like it, please do enlighten me. :) and the ending is really nice in a way it's really bittersweet.
Wow! Clarity is a kind of YA Novel that I will not easily forget so before i start my review let me tell you about the short synopsis of the book, theWow! Clarity is a kind of YA Novel that I will not easily forget so before i start my review let me tell you about the short synopsis of the book, the book is actually about Clarity Fern who is actually not your typical school girl she actually posses a supernatural ability to see through people's memory by touching them, but to make it even better her entire family actually are all a bunch of supernaturals... her brother who can see dead people and her mom that can read through mind. how cool is that?
so my first impression of this book is that it is very cool!!! wow! i have read a couple of crime/ mystery book but this one is pretty much, as far as i can say the coolest of the bunch maybe because i really like Clare's character she is the kind of gal that doesn't beat around the bush she is very straight forward with her decisions, actions and her dialogues are just great. reading the book for me is a lot easier cause Clare is the main character.
the crime and romance is a good mix for me, i like that there are two hot boys that is on target with Clare's heart .. the crime and mystery part is i guess so-so i actually guessed who is the killer, so i wan't that really shocked when it was revealed.... although the romance is something that i really liked. the book actually reminded me of the book The Body Finder.
Overall: this is a must if you are a romance/mystery lover and if you are a TBF fan you will like this also, i would have given the book 4 starts but as I've said i guessed who the killer was, so there, just 3 stars, but i will for sure read the next book. :)...more
Once upon a time there was a girl who was special. Her hair flowed like honey and her eyes were blue as music. She grew up bright and beautiful, with deft fingers, a quick mind, and a charm that impressed everyone she met. Her parents adored her, her teachers praised her, and her schoolmates admired her many talents. Even the oddly shaped birthmark on her upper arm seemed like a sign of some great destiny. This is not her story. Unless you count the part where I killed her.
*** insert the twilight zone theme song here***
when i read the first chapter of ultraviolet i was shocked! the first chapter of the book was actually enough for me to gave it a high rating, in the back of my mind i was screaming 5 STARS! many thoughts are spinning in my mind on why did she kill the girl, i was thinking that maybe she has split personality or maybe she has an evil twin sister, so i was so curious and i don't know but demented kids and twisted murders really fascinates me.
this book is actually about Allison she is confined to Pine Hills Mental institution cause she is a suspect of killing her classmate Tori, but she has no memory of killing her, and she actually possess a different kind of ability wherein she can see different variety of colors that is not visible in the human eye and according to the book it's called Synesthesia. and she can actually sense if someone is lying to her.
while reading this book I was actually scared and confused at the same time, many new ideas about paranormal stuff are introduced here there are a lot of terminologies that i am not familiar with, but nevertheless the book is good i'm just not that in to aliens and too much science fiction are just occurring here. i enjoyed the twist like how the author gave us the idea that people here are crazy but it turns out that Tori wasn't actually dead and Allison didn't actually killed her and Tori is actually is actually an Alien. the ending is nice also very bittersweet
i gave the book 3 stars cause i just like the book, i am not a big fan of aliens i like science fiction books if it's dystopian or utopian, i do recommend this to people who likes Sci-fi books that is about aliens and as far as i can say, this is better than star wars. haha!
Once upon a time there was a girl who was extraordinary. She could hear colors, and see sounds, and taste the difference between truth and lies. But hardly anybody knew that, and she preferred to keep it that way.People thought she’d killed someone, but she hadn’t. They didn’t believe her—some still don’t—but that doesn’t bother her much anymore. Because she has her family and her music and her freedom, and somewhere in the universe is a man with violet eyes who loves her. And deep down, part of her still believes that one day she’ll see him again. This is my story.
This is my first YA book that talks about ghost, i've been reading goosebumps ever since, and R.L Stine really contributed a lot of ghost stories in mThis is my first YA book that talks about ghost, i've been reading goosebumps ever since, and R.L Stine really contributed a lot of ghost stories in my childhood, so this is my first YA ghost book, i was expecting to be scared and ready to have nightmares when i finished reading this, cause the book cover really gave me the hibbie gibbies it's like some demented kid carve out the words "cryer cross" in his desk, and the cover kinda reminds me of freddy kruegger the guy in nightmare at elm street cause he is fond of scaring his victims in a school setting.
so anyway, this book is about Kendall and her issues with her OCD, the concept of the book having a character who has OCD is something that i really liked, cause i think i have slight OCD myself but not as bad as Kendall's so in a way i can relate to the main character on how she multiple checks everything and organize everything and over thinking things.
the ghost story in this book is kinda OK, there is a part of the book that is written from the "WE" perspective which is assume were the ghost, and what they are saying is kinda scary cause i really feel their hunger for vengeance and freedom, when the real story is revealed it's kinda sick and it surely gave me goosebumps. I don't know the story is good in a very twisted way.
i gave the book 3 stars because the first couple of pages is just about Kendall grieving and confused with the loss of her Best friend and she starting to hear alluring voices that is drawing her in and i guess i was wanting more from the story. i wish the story is longer. i recommend this book to guys and gals who wants a good tiny bit of scare.

as all of have know i am eagerly awaiting for this book, cause i have finished the entire book series and i was really shocked that the author came up with another one my mind just went blank when i heard that Sara Shepard will make another installment of the book series, i was like "OMG!!! the girls won't have their happy ending yet!" *evil grin* . so i have really a high expectation for this book.
this book continued where the previous book has left of, this talks about the life of the 4 girls after Alison's attempted murder, one thing i noticed about this book, is nothing really much has change the girls are still flirty, stupid and gullible as ever, they keep on making the same mistake over and over again!!! I mean come on??? are they that stupid?? gee! (sorry!) gosh!
one thing to look out for in this book is maybe the 4 girls has another secret that they are keeping and A is on the look out to reveal their secret, i guess that's what i am just looking forward in this book, and when i was reading this i can't help but to feel sorry for Aria,Hanna,Spencer and Emily.. they deserve to have at least a normal life but gee... they never get a chance to have a decent life.
Overall: I think you would like this if you are a true blue PLL fan and just adore the characters that much, for me i think i have enough of it. i guess it would have been a great idea if the book just end in Wanted. *sighs* but it is still a nice mystery book, i just think i got tired of the characters and the plot. IDK if I'll read the next one.
Got a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll save Better lock it, in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you Won't teGot a secret Can you keep it? Swear this one you'll save Better lock it, in your pocket Taking this one to the grave If I show you then I know you Won't tell what I said Cause two can keep a secret If one of the m is dead…
so this is it?? this is finally over?
the whole PLL series made my world turn upside down , after i finished reading each book in the series i always come up with my own theories on who is A and who murdered Alison but sadly none of my theories is correct. not even one of them is correct ... this last book gave me the creeps and it is seriously twisted.. i feel like i am watching single white female...
who would have thought ALI KILLED ALI ... i mean seriously?? i never saw that one coming! it's actually nice that the clues given in the series is connected until the end of the book. after reading this book. i finally understood what the "sibling problems" Ali is pertaining to, i have it all wrong the first thing that pop in my mind is incest... after reading this book all the clues and "reading between the lines messages" is finally deciphered and revealed and honestly saying it kinda gave me goosebumps when everything is explained.. *shivers*
i'm happy everything turned out well for the four girls ...
and BTW Courtney is a freaking evil genius!!!
4 more books to be published by sara Sheperd in continuation of the PLL series i honestly don't know how can the author will continue the story when everything is so happy,so perfect,so flawless for the four girls I'm guessing that maybe this time there is a new set of girls to be terrorized.
to those who are so itching to know who murdered alison and who is A you can read the ishpoilers below:
(view spoiler)[ Alison dilaurentis actually has a twin sister, her twin sister Courtney has a mental illness and the dilaurentises decided to confine her in a psychiatric ward cause she is getting worse, she keeps on having violent behavior and keep on saying that she is alison but unfortunately Ali's mom mistakenly thought that Alison is courtney since she is wearing her pinky ring with the initial "c" even though Alison hardly insist that she is not COurtney her mom doesn't believe her. so yeah Alison was the one sent to a psychiatric ward and Courtney took over Alison's life....
Alison was so mad at her sister that at the night of the slumber party she shoved courtney to the pit.hence killing courtney. she is supposed to bury her in the pit and get her life back but Ian and Melissa suddenly shown up drunk on their backyard.
so A is MONA (revealed in book 4) 2nd A is Alison (revealed in book 8)
they both got access to the 4 girls' secret cause of Courtney's diary.
