so this would be the second book of the Revenants series, and to be totally honest I forgot some parts of the first book was, so I was a bit clueless when I was reading this , some characters I was a bit not familiar to them the only character that I remembered the most are Kate and Jules , I remembered Jules cause I was rooting him for Kate and I remember Kate cause well... she is the main character, so in other words , I forgot what the first book was all about and some parts I remember but not all of them, so I was uncertain if I should read this one, but its something about the summary that made me want to read it, even though I can be somehow confused if I read on.
Turns out when I've read this one, I recalled some of the events that occurred in the first book (THANK GOD!) and I had somehow read this one smoothly, some changes happen, like I admire Kate character progression in the book, woah! Kate giving the finger to one of the revenants was really bad ass!! woah! really caught me off guard, and I can say that she became tougher and stronger in this book than the previous one, the story line was somehow good, but in my opinion the story isn't much exciting as I thought it would be, I admire the short story of the "Immortal Love" introduced in a book, and for me, I dig more of their love story than Kate and Vincent's and well... I've guessed that who the bad guy was, I mean it's not that hard to predict that Viollette is one psycho revenant, her sugary sweetness toward Kate is not really ordinary, so I smelled something fishy about her character. hah!!! caught you there Violette. So I wasn't surprised how the whole book turn of events were.
The ending was really sad, I feel soooo Sad for Kate, poor girl. can't believe that the book ended that way. hmmm. well my guess for the next book, would be Kate looking for a remedy that happened to Vincent, or she will turn a revenant herself (is that possible)
Overall: the book was predictable but still worth reading, that's why I gave it 3 stars, I'll read the next book for sure, and I am hoping for more developed storyline... :) ...more
i really don't know what's gotten in to me on why i bought this book.. considering I've seen a lot of bad reviews about this book some says it's likei really don't know what's gotten in to me on why i bought this book.. considering I've seen a lot of bad reviews about this book some says it's like twilight, a very slow paced book and it feels like your reading from a girl's POV rather than a guy's POV
it turns out that those reviews were pretty much true
twilight/forbidden love- the book is about Lena and Ethan, Lena the new girl from Gatlin and all of a sudden Ethan has an unexplainable attraction to her but here's the catch they can't be together cause the guy is a mortal and the girl is a CASTER. meh! *boo-hoo* LOLZ BTW this is how I picture Ethan and Lena
slow paced/ a thick book-the book is thick and it's thick not in a good way but in a I-wanna-skip-some-chapters-way. I just feel like some parts are redundant like maybe 1/4 of the book talks about "lena is going dark" or like "lena is crazy! people in gatlin hates her"
POV of a boy- erm sometimes ethan gets to be a bit girly while reading his POV sometimes he is sloppy and mushy.. hehe but for me it's OK if he is like girly sometimes at least he is not that annoying. :)
why 3 stars
- i like the whole casters, dark magic thing in the book and like the whole family of casters which has different powers, i find them fascinating.
-the flashback love story of genievive and Ethan.
- the rich gothic history of Gatlin.
-the first few pages were gripping cause i was fascinated about the love story of GLD and ECW, and the book of moons, the locket, spells
-Amma and Macon are some of my favorite characters.
i dont know if i wanna read the next book cause this book didn't quite disappoint me but didnt quite impress either.. so hmmmm.. we'll see..
Seventeen moons, seventeen years, Eyes where Dark ot Light appears, Gold for yes and Green for no, Seventeen the last to know......more
hmmm... pretty hard for me to give rate this book ahm.. 3.5-4 stars /5 stars???

i actually like the book, the book is in the 1800's setting so their choice of words is kinda old-fashioned each page for me is filled with mystery but as the story progresses can't help myself to compare it to Blue Bloods saga by Melissa dela Cruz.. the seven gates, finding and guarding the seven gates, lucifer/satan/samael rising.. it pretty much have the same plot minus the vampires and romance.
hmmmmm im still undecided if i like this book maybe i should re-read it or something,.. hehe.. :)
i'm a girl that's been always fascinated to vampires during the hype of the twilight saga i've been always TEAM EDWARD i never opened my heart for Jaci'm a girl that's been always fascinated to vampires during the hype of the twilight saga i've been always TEAM EDWARD i never opened my heart for Jacob Black (LOL) and all the books that i've read are all about vampires, my mom teases me that maybe one day i wake up having fangs. (haha) so reading dark divine was something new for me. REASONS WHY
1. a very very very wholesome book- the book is mainly about Grace Divine she is the daughter of the Pastor in their town so she is this ms.perfect she's not the kind of girl that breaks some rules, don't make out with just some boys. even her romance with Daniel is just so darn wholesome. and also her family is very involve in charity works and their very religious.
2. werewolves,Urbat, hounds of heaven,(blah,blah)- this book is about werewolves so everything that's been said about them are completely foreign to me, except for they can be killed with silver and a werewolf bite can make you become a werewolf too.
3. the heroine isn't drawn to the hero- in this book we don't get love at first sight more like childhood lovers
-----Dark divine did'nt give so much of a climax but i love how it is written, maybe the second book will be better because this time the Girl gets to be the "SUPERNATURAL" not the guy and maybe some more bad-ass action in the second book coz Grace is finding out on how to control her abilities.
** this book would have to be my headstart to know more about werewolves and i'm looking forward for more werewolf - related books. :)...more
one day whilebrowsing some pictures of Alex Pettyfer on Photobucket (obsess much?? XD) i spotted this photo of him
(that's not the only photo of himone day whilebrowsing some pictures of Alex Pettyfer on Photobucket (obsess much?? XD) i spotted this photo of him
(that's not the only photo of him that has "jace" written on it)
so i was curious i was like "does alex pettyfer have a new movie and his character's name is Jace?" i googled it and found out it is a book character in the series called the mortal instruments so i was like " owww!! this book is everywhere @ NBS" but there are uncertainties if whether i should like read the book or not. reasons :
1. the cover- the cover is not that appealing to me the cover is a blond half naked dude w/ way to much tattoo on his body and his forehead is cut off.. so yeah not my type of book cover. XD
2. i searched some reviews and some says it's childish, some says it's a copycat of HP,some says it's not written well (blah, blah, blah)
but i noticed some of my friends here in goodreads are crazy about the book and my friends Julie and Joyzi highly recommends it to me ,so why not give it a shot??? i tried to read it on an e-book format but the book is kinda long so i decided to buy a copy...
thoughts on the book
things i LOVE about it.
1. a shadowhunter named Jace Wayland(squeals!!)- damon salvatore+kingsley martin+ adrian Ivashkov= Jace Wayland i super duper love jace!!! not just because he is compared to Alex Pettyfer but because he is BADASS!!! and i love how he thinks and his lines just crack me up!. and i really love to see his sensitive side when he is with Clary like the part when he told clary a bedtime story I just hyperventilate at that part and wishing i am in clary's place.
2.Each page is kicking with adrenaline- from first page to the last you'll sure get some adrenaline pumping! therefore it's not a boring book and will definitely make want to read more.
3. the heroine is not useless- OK! i am tired of the main heroine being useless and defenseless, heroines who can only say "i'm not afraid of you" and "why am I so drawn to him?" (blah ,blah, blah!) in this book the heroine is cool, though and like-able... although she is clueless of what she really is she is still a Kickass character!
4.pretty like-able characters- the characters are adorable although some of them reminds me some characters of some other book like:
*izzy-alice cullen (girly girl, likes fab dresses and likes doing hair and make-up) *simon- oliver hazard-perry( a boy who's in love with his bestfriend) *hodge-victor dashkov( being the good guy in the first few parts and then turns out to be allied with the bad guy) *Clary- Katniss Everdeen (being tough ,hard-headed and badass) *Luke-Jacob Black (masochistic werewolf haha! XD *kidding*) *Jocelyn- Alegra Van Alen (being asleep, having a Coma )
although they remind me of some other characters they still have their own identity
things I HATE
1. i don't get the loveteam- ok i'm rooting for Jace and clary but it turns out that their brother and sister.. owww!!! X(
2. alec is...is...is... Gay- owww!!! im so disappointed that alec is gay! besides Jace ,i super duper love alec too!
3. is hodge a good guy?
4. is valentine really bad?
overall the book is an amazing read! i recommend it too guys and gals who likes good action and adventure book! :D ...more

i really really have high expectations for the 2nd installment of TMI, the first book just knock me off cause of the very high adrenaline rush that it has given me and also i get to meet the most gorgeous and sexy shadow hunter in the entire world.Jace Wayland *faints* haha! but in CoA the adrenaline rush has lowered down to 80%, oh beleive me the action is still there but in CoA we get to see a lot of Jace-Clary-Simon drama and it's really depressing.
jace and clary recently found out that they have the same mom and dad meaning that they are siblings but they also love each other more than siblings so it's tough for them cause Clary kept on denying her feelings towards Jace while Jace is willing to beat the odds to be with each other and the whole denying and suppressing their emotions is really depressing! geez! it gave me flashback of the book Forbidden. as for Simon i just feel sorry for him cause although clary was his girlfriend clary's feelings will never be real towards him. and his whole masochism is very much highlighted in this book good thing he turned in to a vampire so that he has an extra spunk in him.
lots of character progression and changes on this book too.like jace being all vulnerable, clary being extra more powerful and we get to see a lot of magnus baneXAlec????(are they really a couple? haha!)
EARLY GUESS,ASSUMPTION,THEORY ON THE NEXT BOOK
-jace is stephen's son not Valentine's cause why would the inquisitor gave her life to save Jace and why is Stephen and Celine be mentioned in this book and it is also mentioned that Celine was 8 months pregnant when she committed suicide! HA! or was it suicide? maybe valentine killed her himself!
*i actually suck at predictions rarely of them came out right but i really really have a strong feeling that i'm right on this one haha! *fingers crossed*
the last book from the percy jackson series is definitely a great read! think of all the mythical creature you can think of, it's all inwow! wow! wow!
the last book from the percy jackson series is definitely a great read! think of all the mythical creature you can think of, it's all in here! from monsters,to drakons,to titans,to the 12 Olympians everything is present. Everytime I open this book i feel like my surroundings magically transforms in to this world that the book describes I feel like I'm also slaying the monsters,I feel like I'm part of the battle but i also notice that this book is quite different cause i am used to seeing Percy as this hot-headed,short tempered and a sarcastic demigod but he transformed from that to someone strong, mature, wise and also a great leader.
another thing that I really like about this book is the shockers.the twists, the events that you didn't expect to Happen you'll just go "woah! Rachel is a what?" and "grover become a what?" and "Percy refused a what?" but the biggest shocker for me is Luke, damn! i never saw that one coming... i hated Luke since book 1 but WOW! he totally redeemed himself for all the bad things that he's done *tsk!tsk!* your the only villian who made me cry,Luke. you deserve a seat on Olympus *sniff*
and yeah! Percy Hearts Annabeth. :">
i could not think of a better way to end this book series. I like how the author pressed the subject of equality in the book, the Olympians and the minor gods should be treated the same.
*sighs* this is it! time to say goodbye to all the campers of Half Blood Hill. I'll definitely miss them all especially my Favorite Cyclops, Tyson.. LOL ^^ I'll miss you big guy!

This book is another book from Melissa dela Cruz this time it's about Adult Fantasy. So this time she wrote a book about 3 witches, The Beauchamp girls who posses different kinds of powers but they are forbidden to use their magic cause the witches council thinks that their magic causes harm to humans.
so any-who! this is another book from one of my favorite authors. i love the blue bloods series and i was also expecting this one to be as intriguing as the blue bloods series, and i just have a glimpse of Freya in Bloody Valentine, and she is such a nice girl..err witch to cure Ollie's broken heart.
this book is actually an adult book so it contains some graphic scenes and well this contains a lot of twist, cause Melissa dela Cruz combined Norse Mythology plus Witches in this book, the first couple of pages is filled with mystery and a lot of blabbering but the ending made the book so much better, Freya's love triangle is such a nice twist. i find myself so confuse on which brother should i root for, another thing i think i see in this book is it contains women empowerment, Ingrid,Freya and Joanna are such strong girls that posses different kinds of personalities, that i think everyone can relate to i think the beauchamp girls showed that event though your timid and shy (Ingrid) wild and snarky (freya) and a mother (Joanna) you can still be have some spunk and can stand on your own feet.
overall this is one good read, and i know that there are more twist on the upcoming books of the series, the mythology is really nice touch. and if you are a blue bloods fan, you should read this!!! OMG!!! Mimi made a small appearance on this book, and guess what? she is asking for a subvertio ritual!! hmmm... *won't spill the details* haha!!! GRAB the BOOK and read it!!! ...more

this book is about Donna Underwood she survived an elf attack, her hands were ruined so an alchemist named MAKER made her this "iron hands."
ugh! this book reminds me of other books that i've read such as Iron Fey,Hush, hush Blue bloods
Xan reminds me of Jack Force Navin reminds me of Puck
this book is consists of 289 pages, so it's suppose to b a quick read right??? but no! every time i read this book i feel like i'm reading a 500 page book... everything is happening in such a slow pace i feel like i'm going to sleep while reading it. I didn't finish reading this book i was 56% done with my e-book.. gah. ...more

THINGS I LOVE:
* Meghan's Character Progression- Wow! i thought Meghan would just be as annoying as the two previous books. cause in the two previous books she just keeps on crying and crying. Crying cause Ash ignored her, Crying cause Ash is not destined to be with her (blah,Blah). but OMG! in this book she is really BAD-ASS!!! she realized that she is tired of being the protected so she seek the help from Ash and Puck enable to unleash the power that is inside her and yes she really proved herself as being the main heroine of the story, sure at times she can be kinda annoying but what she has done through the entire book you would really forget that she is annoying. It's my very first time to encounter a female protagonist with a very impressive character progression it's from annoying to Bad-ass unlike from other characters that really never got any improvement they stick from annoying to even more annoying.
*Ashallyn 'darkmyk Tallyn the not so icy-prince- so *ahem* in the two previous books we get to see ash as this indifferent, expressionless and icy prince so he is this Dimitri-like,Jack-like,Edward-like character in the book BUT in the iron queen we get to see more of Ash he really opens-up to meghan in this book so we get to see what he was like in his previous life, etc. and i think he is pretty like-able in this book. (but not enough for me to be converted to team ash :D)
* Everything happens so fast in this book- well in this book pretty much shifts from scenario to scenario it's like in this part you'll get romance and all of a sudden you'll get TADAAA! heart-pounding action and that's what i like about this book it's fast paced but still very well written and the beginning and the end was executed perfectly.
* PUCK WAS SHIRTLESS- OMG!!!!!!! i thought Puck won't be in this book!!! ahhhhh!!!! "puck was lying on an overhead branch, smirking at me. his shirt was off, showing a LEAN BRONZED CHEST and his read hair was all over the place" mmmmmmm.. very sexy... rawr.. haha! LOLZ
THINGS I HATE
*love complications, they are not yet over- i thought that meghan and ash really beat the odds of their forbidden love but no!!! there is another complication that aroused from their almost perfect realtionship.
*oh grim! are you really gone????
*i'm not sure if puck is really ok with meghan and ash relationship even though he is just smiling and everything i know inside he is hurt and that's just sad... (awww! i love you Puck) *sniff, sniff*
"i will always love you princess, I'll take whatever you can give me" -Puck
------ at first i was assuming to give this book maybe three or four stars cause the two previous book i just gave both of them 3 stars, but his book is really different from the first two.. this book is really great.!!! deserves a 5 star rating... there will be a new book out called IRON KNIGHT and this time it will be written through Prince Ash's perspective.. :D ...more
this is my 3rd angel book! but the first one i miraculously manage to finish! I mean i've read Hush, hush but i did not finish reading it cause Nora Grthis is my 3rd angel book! but the first one i miraculously manage to finish! I mean i've read Hush, hush but i did not finish reading it cause Nora Gray is getting on my nerves and I've read Fallen but I managed to read only the first chapter (not exaggerating) seriously, those two angel books are very hmmmm.. disappointing, i mean i love angels,(i was even named after one) lols. they are very fascinating creatures they are heavenly, beautiful, gentle. so i'm glad that Unearthly is not the same as the 2 other angel books that i've read.
Unearthly is about clara gardner she is part-angel. a quartarius to be exact, meaning she only has 1/4 angel blood, well each angel has a purpose like a person to save, so her mission is to locate who is she bound to save, where he/she is and when will her purpose will happen...
so basically unearthly's main concept is guardian angels i mean the author open the whole concept of angels having this mission on earth they have to do a certain job enable to? hmmm.. i actually don't know why they have this so called purpose, is it because they are the descendants of God? so the book didn't exactly provide a thorough info about that, this book has actually lots and lots of question and mystery left unsolved it left me confuse especially the last part everything is left hanging ,but what i appreciate about this book is the way angels describe like having this so called glory and the whole white wing and black wing concept and the way the angels are described are pretty realistic it left me thinking that maybe angels do exist cause of how the author described the lifestyles of the angels that they can be casually living among us.
i gave this book 3 stars because well my emotions while reading this is like an undisturbed, calm ocean i was in neutral mode when i'm reading this and well i kinda predicted some things that will happen in the book (bragging much? XD) *spoilers* i predicted that clara will save Tucker not Christian and i predicted that christian is an angel. well OK,OK i predicted that he is a black wing but that's close right? haha! well i'm not saying that this book is bad it is a thousand times better than hush, hush and fallen but yeah i'm not really drawn to the whole story.... ^^ ...more

Harry potter just popped out of my mind cause of the "invisibility cloak" ^^
so anyways this book is about a very average boy,Johnny who is a shoe maker he and his mom is struggling to make ends meet on their small shoe repair shop, but everything changed when princess Victoriana came, she has a quest for Johnny and if Johnny miraculously get through the quest alive, he will have to marry a real life princess and leave his average life.
the first couple of pages i realized that this is a retelling of the fairy tale "the shoemaker and the elves" so i was like "how in the bloody hell "cloaked" is related to a shoemaker?!" (OCD kicking in) haha! but it turns out that the princess gave Johnny a magical cloak that can transport you anywhere.
This book fairy tale mash up. All kinds of fairy tales are here, some of them I'm not familiar, but this book is a very hilarious. And as usual you'll get all sorts of magical creatures involved, witches, curses, prince, princess. And a whole lot of LOVE.
This a very fun and light read book, from Alex Flinn. But I enjoyed reading Beastly more. :D ...more
i haven't given much thought on what this book is about, i didn't actually read the synopsis, my eyes just caught Amazon Best Books of the Month, January 2011 inscription in it so i decided to give this a try, another plus factor is the cover, it actually gave me the impression that this book is about werewolves since the cover has this dark and foggy atmosphere around it. It turns out that this book is about some cheesy romance and time traveling(note to self: don't be a book synopsis snob)
if ever i have to pick a superpower i would never pick up the ability to time travel, i just believed in this so called butterfly effect wherein a small change of an event can cause either creation or destruction i just feel like people shouldn't defy the occurrence of the events that is happening in their lives. so maybe my lack of appreciation about time traveling made me gave this book a 2 star rating. I'm not saying that the book was entirely bad the first couple of pages was actually enticing, the next pages was so-so. and then it got boring, i just don't get the essence of Michele's time traveling, sure she met the boy who's haunting her in her dreams and she get to meet her relatives, get to know about her family history but i don't know what good her time traveling has lead to. it just opened up some more questions.
i guess people will appreciate this book if like the movie Kate And Leopold and if you want a cheesier version of Fushigi yuugi....more
goodness! this is the best of the TMI series! i'm glad my prediction is right! so jace is really stephen's son! haha! thi am out of words! god! haha!
goodness! this is the best of the TMI series! i'm glad my prediction is right! so jace is really stephen's son! haha! that sibling mix-up thing is really crazy. i didn't know that Valentine is that twisted! sheesh!
oh well i'm just glad that jace and clary can be together now. hahaha! Jace kinda actually lose some of his humor in this book and i miss it, i like it when his lines crack me up but this time Simon was the one cracking me up which is unusual, love is also in the air in this book! we get to see MAGNUS X ALEC, IZZY X SIMON X MAIA, JACE X CLARY, JOCELYN X LUKE .
so i don't know what to expect from the next book, cause this one seems so finished it's like i'm not waiting for anything more, i just hope that jace and clary won't lose that magic, cause once love is not forbidden anymore it kinda sometimes looses it's ZING EFFECT ya know what i mean? >;)
woah!!!!! i know this book is badass but i never thought that it would be this badass!!! wow!

I am a solid Team Puck even though Ash is so charming and lovable and sensitive in The Iron Queen i never ever switched to his side.
so what to expect from Puck? of course we all get the perception that Puck is this Happy go lucky guy who always pulls up some pranks and tricks and always defies King Oberon's rules BUT did you ever see the heart broken side of Puck? kinda hard to believe but yes, in this novella we actually get to see the tormented side of Puck, *sniffs* cause Meghan chose Prince Ash instead of him, and i feel so tormented myself seeing MY jester (possessive much? haha!) so wound up.. aww.. (don't worry Puck!I'm here! we can pull pranks together)
nevertheless i enjoyed reading this novella for a second i actually thought that i will hate Puck (view spoiler)[for acting like he betrayed Ash. (hide spoiler)] after reading this i even loved Puck even more cause of his witty ideas and pranks they actually get to accomplish Lea's Mission. a big huge thanks to Ms.Julie Kagawafor making this novella and giving Puck the spotlight! :)

woooh! just finished reading CoFA! the wildly anticipated book of 2011. *inhales* *exhales*
i was really scared to read this book, cause i love this series, probably one of the best series i've read so far and i have seen a lot of bad reviews about this book and i'm the kind of reader that stops reading a certain book if i didn't like the previous one. so any-who i still manage to give it four stars. but i still don't know if i gave the proper rating. sheesh! this book is really hard to rate and judge! so anyway let's proceed to my review.
my first time to criticize a book cover. yay! so here's the thing i really don't know why Clary is in the book cover. i mean come on?! what did Clary do in this book ahm hmmm let's see... straddle her legs in jace's hips, kiss Jace's lips, grope Jace's muscle and a lot of groping,kissing,groping... haha! ok. i'm not an anti clary but i really don't get the idea of her being in the cover. i guess it will be OK if simon is in the cover, cause simon is really kick ass in this book he is the only reason that the story is stirring.
in my review in City Of Glass, i stated there that i wish that Jace and Clary won't lost their spark, cause you see when love is not forbidden anymore it kinda losses it's magic. well DANG! i think they lost it's spark! *grunts* well their love is still kinda somehow still forbidden but sheesh! when jace is pulling away from Clary and those "i-don't-wanna-lose-you-and-i-can't-stay-with-you-cause-i-might-hurt-you" crap is so...so...so... EDWARD CULLEN-ish! and the last thing i wanna do is to compare Jace to Edward! ay-yay-yay.!
on the plus side! -i adore SImon! i super love SIMON! i worship SIMON! awww! simon is soooooooo hot in this book! haha! i think i'm gonna be team simon now *weep* -i like how ms.Clare introduce me to Camille and Lilith. they are pretty interesting characters. :) -i love the Rain-Alley scene! yay! too bad izzy showed up.. :(
so did this book disappoint me?
well i'm 30% disappointed 70% satisfied. but it would be a really, really wise choice if Cassandra Clare just ended the book in City of Glass.
i was actually thinking of giving this book a 3 star rating but the ending is really good! and i guess i so-so kinda like the groping and kissing scene of jace and Clary. so i am not kinda actually excited for the next book, i mean i guess i can wait for it, i guess i won't go insanely crazy when the book is out. haha! i am more looking forward to Simon and Izzy relationship.
(view spoiler)[so here is actually the reason why i'm not excited for the next book:
* i hate seeing Jace being all tormented again! huhu. i hate it when he will torture himself again, and i hate it when those pianist hands of his will kill all the people he loves oww! and i know sebastian will do anything EVIL... gosh! i really can't bear the thought of Jace hurting Clary or anyone... ahhhh! i better fancy Simon instead so that it will be easy for me to accept the story line of the next book. haha~ XD. (hide spoiler)]
========= BY THE ANGELS! WHY DID THE BOOK END LIKE THAT???
Will make review soon!
i posted this picture cause this is what the ending is like! hmmm.. maybe professor quirell is not as HOT as Jace but basically this is the scenario. LOL haha! i kindis it just me or the girl from the cover kinda looks like Hayley Williams of Paramore????

i kinda feel bad for giving this book a 1 star rating cause i've been really expecting myself to like this book, and i think i am one of the very few people who gave this book a 1 star rating but before you hate me or throw something hard on my face hear me out first. haha!
here's the reason why i gave this book 1 star.
- i've been seeing a lot of reviews that this book is action packed and filled with adrenaline, but here's the thing i find the action scenes in this book pretty repetitive it's like this
scene 1: ellie is slaying a reaper with Will scene 2: ellie is slaying Ragnuk scene 3: ellie and Will fighting a random reaper.
you see???? the action scenes just contains slaying and slaying and a lot more slaying of reapers!!! so is the book is action packed i have to admit that, but the imagination of the author didn't go any broader than slaying some reapers. so i guess this book is action packed yet it's boring.
- this book is about Ellie, so this book is written in a 1st person POV. ellie is a normal teenager until she found out that she is an reincarnated "reaper slayer" but don't let the normal-teenager-i-don't-care about-boys-crap fool you, i find ellie really flirty! she likes parties, wears a sexy nurse costume on halloween, always fantasizing about Will, fantasizing about Will kissing her, thinking Will is sexy and always giving a sly smile, not only that she has this very random questions and i think she is a spoiled brat, and she is just plain annoying! she is the main reason i didn't finish the book.!
-i don't like how the book is written, a lot of bad dialogues and shallow questions and shallow answers! blah!
-the almost half of the book is all about ellie and Will's unrequited love!
on the plus side i like the gothic-ish history related on this book like Sammael, lucifer, the fallen , angels and summerian thingy... the whole concept of the angels in this book is good it;s kinda Blue Bloodslike.
so i guess i'm not looking forward for the next two books, i had enough of ellie! and i didn't finish reading this one... i don't know what's wrong with me i've been giving a low rating on YA paranormal romance these days. ha!...more

i really have to keep in mind that adult angel books are way, way, way, way better than YA angel books.! yay! this book really lived up with my expectation on what an adult fantasy novel is like this book is VERY dark, filled with lust, passion, intense emotions and hardcore action scenes.
what really got my attention is the concept of the book, i have read a lot of vampire novels and it is always stated in those novels that to make a vampire (a fledgling) one has to die first and be fed by vampire blood or get bitten by a vampire and so on, but in this book angels make vampires, and that's something new to me who would have thought that angels who are so fine and gentle are responsible for making vampires... angels here are somehow evil, erotic, and possessive in this book not sarcastic and fun loving in YA novels that i used to read.
Since this is an adult fantasy novel expect a bit of vulgar words, profanity and a bit of sex (a bit is kinda understated :P),blood and gore as I've said angels here are different, they posses mind control that made girls want to sleep with them. so the first couple of pages in this book is how Raphael (the archangel of NY) try to mind control Elena of pursuing her on having some kind of erotic pleasure, i was actually confused with their relationship cause they copulate not because of love but because they treat each other as play things or a toy and Raphael is just so darn hard to read i really don't know if he is just possessive with Elena cause she is his "toy" or he really does love her but in the end i got an answer to my question because...
"Ambrosia only rises when an archangel loves true"
this is an overall a nice read, some parts are kinda boring cause they keep on blabbering and blabbering about Uram and vampires and (blah, blah) but once there is an action scene in this book it will make you go "OMG!" and i'm a sucker for anything gothic and this one is a bit gothic-ish and i like how angels are in this book, they have this so called "angel dust" and according to the book it is way, way, way better than any kind of drug... i'm excited to read the next novel cause Elena is an *gasp* ANGEL!!! yay! and i am looking forward to her relationship with Raphael.. YAY!
if you are fond of reading YA novels this one may shock you, so better prepare yourself LOL
ahhhhhh! *screaming, screaming, screaming* best angel book i've read so far!!!!
this is my first Meg Cabot Novel, I only know Meg Cabot for writing the Princess Diaries series, so i read this book thinking that it's a chick lit no
this is my first Meg Cabot Novel, I only know Meg Cabot for writing the Princess Diaries series, so i read this book thinking that it's a chick lit novel. eventually i was wrong. this book is actually about the retelling of "The rape of Persephone" it's the old Greek myth where Hades, the lord of the underworld kidnapped Persephone and made her queen of the underworld. (ha! thanks to the Percy Jackson series for giving me this info) ^^
so basically the book's main character is Pierce Oliviera, she died once and escaped her death. Along with her coming back to life she brought a necklace with her, a necklace given to her by John or should I say the Hot version of Hades. LOL, that is supposed to keep her away from evil forces (the furies). so at first when i am reading this book i was a bit confused cause the intro did not exactly explained Pierce's death or her coming back to life. since i seldom read book synopsis, so eventually i have no idea what's going on the story, but as you read on you will get the whole idea of her death and her connection to John.
so did i like the book?
well actually some parts are tolerable, i keep on thinking on it's relation to the "rape of Persephone" cause Pierce actually escaped the underworld by throwing a hot cup of tea to John's face so meaning she is not held captive in the Underworld unlike in the myth. this is told from Pierce POV, i don't know if she is really naive or that she doesn't really have sufficient knowledge on her surroundings, she is just kinda actually an impassive character in this book.
as for John, well ha! John is actually my eye-candy... eepppp! i have a huge crush on him he reminds me of Dimitri of vampire academy.
in overall the book is an OK read, kinda boring in some parts but the ending is good, and I'm a sucker for Greek myths and any mythology related books. so I'm quite satisfied on this one, i recommend it to people who like Greek myths as well.
so this book is actually a trilogy and i guess I'm looking forward for the next two books. :) =====
check out my blog guys the YA bookworm just started this blog but i'm done with the basics. but it's still under construction. ^^ ...more
I was so excited to read this book cause for the first time i saw its cover i was so in love with it, never haveOriginally posted @ The YA Bookworm
I was so excited to read this book cause for the first time i saw its cover i was so in love with it, never have i seen a very dark book cover, like the cover is enough for me to presume what is the story all about, i actually have this book's cover as my wallpaper on my phone (yeah, yeah i am that obsessed ^^ ).
anyways, let's proceed with the review... the book is actually about Cas Lowood who has the ability to slay ghosts, actually he slays ghost for living, until he met the ghost named Anna, Anna dressed in Blood...
ok, i really enjoyed reading this YA Novel, it's actually my first time to read a YA lit about ghosts, the first couple pages of the book is actually the moment when you really have to grasp the book to keep up with everything, i really find the first couple of pages of the book a bit more climatic than the middle part of the book.
i fing Anna a very interesting kind of ghost, the way Cas' describe her is really interesting he is like a ghost that is pretty with a dark edge to it, i can describe her a "Deadly yet Elegant" i was actually mostly looking forward to her story, like how was she killed? what was her life before she became a ghost, and thank god the author provided the most detailed and substantive information regarding my questions, when you know Anna Kurlov's story you will go like "OMG!! this is so much like Carrie's story!" (you know Carrie? the old classic horror movie with the shy and timid girl who turns psycho cause she was spilled with blood while being awarded as prom queen) that is how much Anna's story s like it was shocking, . On how was she killed, it never crossed in my mind that she was killed.
another thing i appreciate about this book is that reading from Cas's POV is really how i expected a boy to think, lot of swearing, curses and stuff like that, i like it cause coming from an author that is a girl (Kendare Blake is a girl right??) writing a novel from a guy's POV is kinda hard and as far as i know many girl author fail to deliver a smooth POV from a boy as their main character. so two thumbs up for ms.Blake you have really done a good job in writing this one fantastic novel. I am mostly looking forward on how cas and Anna's blossoming romance would be like, although it kinda bothers me on how Cas can fall in love with a ghost, not just a ghost but a DEADLY GHOST, but i guess that is the power of love.
i Guess I am not the only one that's looking forward for the next book, Girl of Nightmares has still have an indefinite date on when will it be published, kyaaa!! I am also looking forward on what will be the cover be like... :))
I was searching for an adult fantasy book and this suddenly popped out on the computer screen and well, i was shoc Originally posted @ The YA Bookworm
I was searching for an adult fantasy book and this suddenly popped out on the computer screen and well, i was shocked i mean the book cover has EROTICA written all over it, and oh believe me the last thing that i wanna read is an erotica novel, i am still cringing on my encounter with The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty . but then i learned that this book is about Faeries, and i was excited to read it! cause i have wee bit knowledge about faeries my only reference is TMI and the Iron fey series and the faerie world is not actually the kind of world that i'm familiar with, so why not give this one a try.
in this book we get to meet MacKayla (Mac) Lane she is a 22 year old bartender who recently loss her sister,Alina in Dublin. Alina is found dead in an Alley way and left her sister cryptic message on her phone's voice mail, due to Mac's curiosity and desire for vengeance on her sister's death she decided to fly all the way to Dublin to solve her sister's murder herself.
I really don't know what to expect from an adult fantasy novel, since this is written form a 1st person POV we get to read the thoughts of Mac and well to be honest Mac's thoughts are still like reading thoughts from a teenager and i understand that she is only 22 years old, but then she realized she has an ability to see through Faerie Glamour she is a sidhe-seer (she-seer) to be exact and oh, that's where the adult stuff came in, cause you see in this book we get to see more of the faeries on the Unseelie side (the dark side), Faeries in this book is not as humorous or as good looking as Puck and Ash, faeries in this book is erotic and has rather an unworldly appearance,Faeries in this book will make you wanna have sex and make you horny, so OK this book has a bit of erotica in it, but it's like the manageable kind of erotica, not the i-will-give-you-nightmares-kind. (lol)
in this book we get to also meet Jericho Barrons, well as described by Mac he is oozing with sex appeal but i find jericho the kind of guy that is too much Dimitri Belikov in him, i mean he is the kind of guy that will intimidate you and he is the kind of guy that has loads of mystery in him, and i think he an Mac will make a cute couple cause jericho is all mystery and seriousness and perfectionist while Mac on the other hand has master the art of bluffing and has a whole lot of pride in her system, i think they complement each other. :)
i gave the book 3 stars cause i like the faerie concept in this book, it's actually good to know the dark side of the faeries, and another plus is having Mac as a main character in this book, the book is an overall good read not that good and not that bad. this book is an enough teaser for me to want to read the next one. ...more
