This book does contain triggers, so if you are sensitive you may want to skip this read. Also, it must be said that this book is not a standalone. If you don't read Noose first you'll be stepping into a million questions.
This final installment of Rose and Noose's story touches on so many emotions I'm still reeling. Noose claims Rose and then spends the majority of this story trying to fully win her over. She loves him but is afraid to believe in her feelings, to really trust them. Not to mention she's dealing with Diablo/Drake winning visitation with Charlie and her parents disowning her if she chooses to pursue her feelings for Noose. One big emotional mess I tell you.
As promised we get the happily ever after this couple deserves, but it was a hard road to get there.

I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed this book. Fatal Affair offered up everything I want in a romantic suspense. The characters were easy to relate to and sympathetic. I even felt for the Senator's parents and they were severely flawed. They just seemed like real people that make real mistakes and have to deal with the real consequences of their actions. Although, I readily admit the consequences to their actions were extreme. The story was developed and compelling. The murder was horrific, yet believable. I was just sucked into this story from the first chapter and lost lots of sleep since I could not put this book down.
I loved Sam Holland. She was her own worst critic and way too hard on herself. But, in her case it was admirable and not at all annoying. For anyone that is a fan of the In Death series and it's leading detective Eve Dallas you'll totally love Sam Holland. The similarities between these characters are so much alike it's uncanny, yet there are enough differences that you aren't left questioning whether or not this character is an Eve knockoff.
Can I just say I want to find myself a Nick Cappuano? He was the best character in just about every way. Understanding, sexy, smart, brave, loyal. Yep, all of those and more. My heart hurt for him from the moment he found Senator O'Connor dead to when he found out that his best friend had a whole other life that he never shared.
The sparks between this couple never felt forced or unreal whether it be in bed or when they were disagreeing and arguing their side. The supporting characters were just as strong and helped to carry the story as much as our protagonists. I can't wait to read on in this series and learn more from these fantastic personalities that surrounded Nick and Sam.

To say that I've been waiting not so patiently for this spin-off series is an understatement. Under Pressure is the first booHotness Rating 3 out of 5
To say that I've been waiting not so patiently for this spin-off series is an understatement. Under Pressure is the first book of the Body Armor series and finally gives us the story I've been dying to read. We learned so much about Leese Phelps in the Ultimate Fighter series, but not nearly enough. I am so happy to say that not only did Ms. Foster do his story justice, but she exceeded my highest hopes.
Leese felt that he was a passable MMA fighter but not nearly good enough to be a champion. In his head if he couldn't be the absolute best of the best then he should utilize his skills elsewhere which led him to his current position of top body guard for Body Armor. Leese had a bit of my heart in the other books because of his flawed beginning and subsequent ascension to one of the good guys. But, Armie still had the title as my favorite. Sorry Armie that is just not so anymore. Leese's story gave me so much more to love about him. First and foremost being how he treated and protected Cat.
Catalina came from wealth and affluence, but never quite fit in and that was okay with her. She forged her own path as a grade school art teacher and slightly quirky, out of the limelight sister and daughter. That all changed when she stumbled upon a conversation that she should not have. The information that she overheard put a target on her back and forced her into living on the run just to stay alive. I loved Cat. She imagined herself as an oddball much more than she actually was. She didn't give herself enough credit however for her strength and smarts. There's something endearing about a character that doesn't quite see herself in the same light that others do.
I loved how even though Leese tried to fight his attraction to Cat he never let it stop him from comforting her and taking care of her in the ways that she needed. He just seemed to know exactly how to talk her down when the panic set in.
The drop in from the guys of the Ultimate Fighter series was a huge treat and I can't wait to jump into Justice's story. This story can not come out soon enough. (FYI: Hard Justice is set to release April 1, 2017)
