Andrew "Drew" Kincaid is the playful tracker of the Snowdancer pack. He's the guy that everyone loves, leans on and confides in. This makes him really good at his job, as well as his quick mind and dedication to his pack. All of this, however, doesn't help him with the one thing he wants most and that's Indy Riviere.
Indigo "Indy" Riviere is the dominant lieutenant of the Snowdancer pack. She's worked hard for her position and is proud of all she's done and does for her pack. She's respected and well liked by all. Now, that Drew is showing a true interest in her it's making her life crazy. She is the dominant of the pair (although he is a strong wolf in his own right) and nothing can come of the pairing, but heartache and her losing her best friend. Too bad for her that Drew isn't backing down and her wolf is quickly getting on board with his plans.
I enjoyed Indy and Drew's story, a lot! It wasn't flawless and I have a few annoyances such as how long it took them to get together. I know that the author is always presented with the issue of creating some kind of "drama" leading up to the heroine and hero getting together. But, you can only take playing hard to get so far before it becomes annoying. Thankfully, Ms. Singh doesn't drag it out to the point of torture, so it wasn't too awful bad. There was some great scenes, the story holds your interest and supporting characters are good enough that you aren't ready to scream while the two leads are fighting their wants and desires to prolong the inevitable.
My brain knew I was doing something stupid, but my hormones tell me to protect her, instinct is kicking reason's whiny ass."
Bottom line: This is a really good story. If you are a fan of this series you won't be disappointed with this one at all.

Kiss of Snow is the 10th book in the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh and this is the best book, yet. I have had this book for so long and just haven't gotten around to reading it. I could kick myself. I have been missing out on all of the wolf perfection that is Hawke.
Hawke is the wolf alpha of the Snowdancer pack. When he was very young the Psy, in an experiment, turned his pack against one another. They lost so many during that time, including the alpha. That's when Hawke became alpha and began to rebuild his pack. His life has been filled with pain and hurt, but that doesn't stop him from being a strong, affectionate and loving leader. He would do anything for his pack. His own happiness is a little different. He's fought his attraction to a certain X-psy in his care for what seems like forever. First it was because she was too young and he didn't want to hurt her. But, now she's grown and she knows what she wants.
Sienna Lauren is a very rare X psy living with the Snowdancer pack. Her family defected from the Psy net many years ago when the Lauren family was slated to be wiped out and was taken in by the wolves. Sienna's Psy designation makes her one of the most dangerous, living weapons known. She lives with the constant fear that one day her body will turn against her and make her hurt the pack that she has adopted as her own. That isn't even her biggest problem at the moment. She has been drawn to the pack alpha for as long as she can remember. She has tried to convince him that she isn't a little girl anymore, but he can't seem to see past the fact that she could never be his true mate.
..."you have my devotion, your name branded on my soul, my wolf yours to command. A hundred years? It'll never be enough. I want eternity."
I love how Hawke had his fears and they played the "I don't want to hurt you" game for a while, but it wasn't drawn out at all. They quickly moved past this and gave it their all. Was it all kisses and roses? Heck no! Their is a Psy war brewing and the pack are dealing with a whole bunch of stuff. We get to continue our relationship with so many of the characters from the previous books, so you never feel yourself wondering how so and so are doing.
Unfortunately, if you haven't read this series you would be confused and lost in several spots if you just started with this book. It's really not able to be read independent of the rest. But, the series and this book in particular are worth the read, so get started. Some books are better than others, but this is definitely my favorite.

It doesn't come right out and spill all the details right off. At first, I found this annoying. I am used to my brain candy. The more I got into the book then more I found myself really enjoying the pace and really concentrating on each sentence. The main character isn't very likeable at all. However, I found myself rooting for him. The end was nothing I expected. This book stuck with me long after I've finished it. It just reaches out and grabs you. I highly recommend it. Beware, it's going to be nothing like you expect.(less)

I have 2 favorite quotes from this book:
"You can do it either way, but I promise that if you somehow survive, twenty years from now, when you’re old and broken, you’ll look back at this moment and wish you had taken two seconds and thought about what you were doing, because this is the point where it all went very wrong.” ~Andrea to a cop
“What do you mean, fainted?” “Took a dive. Kissed the pavement. Swooned like a Southern belle after her first kiss. Had a dreadful case of the vapors.” ~Ghastek talking to Andrea and Kate

Niko's story completely let me down. I'm not sure where it went wrong, to be honest. There were so many good thoughts and avenues to work with. It just seemed there was so much explanation and build up for sub characters. Characters that didn't even make it to the end of the book. Yet, the main characters were rushed and not fully worked out.
Oh well, onto the next one. No one's perfect. I haven't given up on the series.(less)

And they didn't disappoint. Bones was still his loving, protective, confident self. Cat was her same a**kicking self, out to protect the world. Ian was still his same old depraved self...lol. Throw in a couple new quirky personalities and it was a hit.
Favorite quote: "You wouldn’t believe how nutty some people are. Just last week, I had a woman convinced her trailer was haunted by Tupac, as if he’d want to spend eternity in a double wide that smelled like cat piss.” ~Tyler to Cat and Bones

Vlad Tepesh is the man/vampire behind the most famous vampire of all. With his ability to control fire Vlad is a formidable opponent and feared by most. He has lived a very, very long life by never backing down and by making an example of everyone and everything that dares go against him.
Leila has a career in the circus. Due to her "gift", as a result of a childhood accident" she is able to control large amounts of electrical current. Unfortunately, her gift can't be just turned off. She wears a rubberized glove because she shocks anyone she touches, as well as gets a front row seat to their biggest sin. Obiviously, this has been a big deterrent in her dating life. That's where this big, sexy, yummy vampire comes in. Who better to make her crazy in every way than the vampire who controls fire.
Leila to Vlad..."I want to know what your end game is first." Another flash of teeth, this time showing his fangs. "To have you screaming my name within the hour."
It is no secret that Vlad Tepesh is one of my favorite characters ever. With his sarcastic wit and oh so sexy self what's not to love? Unfortunately, we didn't get to see a ton of his lighthearted side, but it's coming in the next books, I'm sure. This book was primarily the groundwork of why Vlad is Vlad. We do get a couple of good one liners from him, though.
When Leila is explaining to Vlad that she can't use cell phones because of her abilities he issues a response that is oh so Vlad. "Good. If you checked your email every five minutes, or kept texting and Tweeting in the middle of our conversation, I might snap your neck out of sheer principle."(less)

Such a bittersweet ending to the series that raised the bar for all writers of romance. I am such a huge fan of the Night Huntress series and Up From the Grave (Night Huntress #7) was long overdue. However, I found myself simultaneously wondering what was taking so long for the release and then dreading it knowing this would be the last of my beloved Bones and Cat.
"To the fans of the Night Huntress series, thank you for letting Cat & Bones into your lives. This one's for you!"
Bones and Cat are at it, again. Trying to save the world as we know it and save themselves, at the same time. Stumbling upon a secret project, that was being done while Cat was still a part of the organization, reveals some staggering details that will forever change Bones, Cat and a few others. In true Night Huntress fashion it's a race against time to find out what's going on, save the gang, and try not to get permanently killed. Destroying the project and the director that has made Cat's life hell is only icing on the cake.
This book was different than the others in that the hotness level was toned down quite a bit. They're an old married couple now, right? Don't get me wrong, Bones hasn't lost his sexiness, by any means. Ms. Frost just had a lot more to deal with in this book. The ending was sad, but I feel like she left us open that maybe we can re-visit my favorite couple one day? *on knees, offers up first born (okay maybe not the first born. She's the good one)*
Thank you, Ms. Frost for making me love paranormal, again and for allowing us a peak into the wonderful Night Huntress world! Bones and Cat will forever be my favorites and always in my heart.

I know the spin off series will be released in August. I am so praying that it has the same feel to it as this series did.
I think it's an amazing writer that can leave you feeling like these things really happened and these characters are real people (vampires, moiri, dhampirs, etc). I feel like they are still going on with their lives behind the scenes and we just aren't privy to the details. It's not many books that stir up these kind of feelings in me.
Thank you so much Ms. Mead for creating such a great world to escape to.(less)
