Dr. Caroline Graham was just biding her time in Texas. Filling in for Dr's was her specialty leaving her to jump from state to state, town to town without making any long-tern commitments. That is until she happened upon Whispering Springs and its inhabitants that included her great uncle , Angus Fitzgerald and a menagerie of Montgomery's. When Angus passes away and leaves his Singing Springs Ranch to her in his will, he throws a wrench into to carefully plotted out life. You see Dr. Graham hasn't had stellar life even though she achieves greatness in becoming a physician. Her nomadic missionary parents basically left their children on a family member's doorstep so they could traipse around the world taking care of everyone else's family but their own. Caroline's teenage brother Noah has had had it the worst since he is only fourteen and being pawned off to secondary family members too old to understand teenage angst and needs. Even Caroline doesn't know her own brother since she is over a decade older than her sibling and left as soon as she was able.
That being said, the one true beloved family member to Caroline is her Grandmother Mamie who is terminally ill and waiting on Caroline to return to her with a man, or more to the point, a fiance. She holds on with every expectation that her niece will find a husband and be happy. Caroline has been telling her grandmother that she has a boyfriend in Whispering Springs and she is truly happy, even though it's a complete fabrication.
Travis Montgomery is done with marriage. His wife died years ago of breast cancer leaving him devastated and never wanting to feel loss like he felt upon her death. He's also a very ambitious man, and when he hears that the coveted Singing Springs Ranch is in the hands of Dr. Caroline Montgomery, he wants it badly to add to his acreage.
The handsome Travis is never far from Caroline's thoughts. So much so that when her aunt backs her into a corner to reveal who her imaginary boyfriend is, she mutters his name before her head has time to rein her in. Now stuck, Caroline must devise a plan to get Travis to go along with a so-called marriage for her ailing grandmother and make Mamie content in her last days. Once Caroline divulges what she must do Travis is aghast, but when Caroline throws the ranch into to pot as an even trade, faux marriage isn't looking so bad to Travis.
Of course things like this never come out perfect hence turning lives upside down for the pair and their families. When it all becomes too hot to handle, Caroline thinks that jumping ship may be her only option, even after falling head over heels in love with her "husband". Travis also struggles with his convictions that become clouded by his ever-emerging feelings for Caroline. You have to wonder if these two will ever stop and take their inner-most feeling into consideration instead of their carefully plotted out existences.
Cynthia D'Alba has another winner of a tale here. This second in her Texas Montgomery Mavericks series TEXAS TANGO can be read as a stand alone, but I wouldn't miss TEXAS TWO-STEP and the prequel to this series. TEXAS TANGO is another one of those books that you can't put down until THE END. Miss D'Alba's sometimes stubborn characters make for one roller coaster of a ride in this tale of coming together, a tale of family and belonging, something that Caroline and Noah have been lacking in their lives and something that Travis can give them.

I find that I have to put my cover feelings aside when I see this one because Twins Under The Christmas Tree by Marin Thomas is so good.
Meet Conway Twitty Cash, one of those infamous Cash Brothers and the so-called handsomest of the bunch. Conway has women falling at his feet and hardly ever says no..... unless the lady in question has kids or wants them in the future because Conway has sworn off being a daddy...ever, but he is in search of "the one".
Isadora Lopez hasn't had a stellar life so far, but the one thing, or should I say two things she definitely got right are her handsome little devil twin 4 year old sons, Javier and Miguel. Single mom Isi is all alone in the world with her sons since the father of the boys has basically denied them. Said deadbeat and rodeo cowboy never told Isi he was already married. Isi is one determined lady, a hard worker, college student and mom. She's also been Conway's "therapist" for the past few years as Conway frequents the establishment Isi waitresses at. Attracted to her at first, Conway quashed that any inkling of a relationship when he found out Isi was the mom of twins, but they have been constant friends. Isi always hears about Conway's antics with the female population in search of his perfect mate, doling out advice when necessary.
One evening trouble comes to the Border Town Bar and Grill when an insistent wannabe girlfriend seeks Conway out and ends up hurting Isi in the melee. To make up for Isi's injury and her subsequent loss of a babysitter, Conway offers to step in as sitter to the twins. Reluctant but in need, Isi accepts since she has to waitress as well as work towards her impending December graduation. Low and behold, the anti children cowboy Conway likes the boys and they adore him. The closer Conway gets to the boys the closer he becomes to Isi, but it isn't what he wants. In a constant stupor of denial, Conway can't see what's right in front of his face. Even with his ease with taking care of the boys and his still being attracted to Isi, Conway still thinks "the one" is still out there, but it's not the pretty mom of twin boys he can't get out of his mind.
Twins Under The Christmas Tree by Marin Thomas is a fabulous story. Conway really is a great guy, even with his rule of not dating women with kids. He has his reasons though they are almost a cloud hanging over his head. Isi is the ultimate female character, she wants for nothing and works for everything she has. She is real and so deserving of so much more. She strives everyday to make a better life for her and her beloved sons. She knows Conway would is the perfect man for her, if only the oblivious man would wake up. Twins Under the Christmas Tree by Marin Thomas is a great read for anytime of the year. It tugs at your heartstrings and even even extracts some tears. I highly recommend this book. I enjoyed it and know you will as well.

When there's a knock on her door one morning, she could never have imagined handsome new neighbor Simon Austen to be at her doorstep with an interesting package in hand.
When Simon sees scruffy looking Eve, he is instantly attracted to the sleepy-eyed woman. The two being a hot and heavy affair, that is so hot, they agree to re-examine the relationship in six months time. Where will they be in six months? Read Apartment 4B and find out?
What a great story. Not very heavy on the BDSM... just a bit of a dabble. The novella is well told and the characters are so good together. Both Eve and Austen have been single for several years and relationship wary. I really enjoy the direction the Tethered Arms books are going and I think you will too. Sahara Kelly has a knack for romance and a great sense of humor. Loved this!!!

Adam is a grade school teacher married to Laura,a lawyer, for the past five years. Things are beginning to become a little ho-hum in the bedroom. Although they love each other immensely, their lives have become utterly routine..
That is until Laura discovers that Adam has been withholding from her a side of himself he locked away when they became a couple. Adam was a Dom, and quite accomplished at it as well. Can high-powered attorney Laura give her husband what he needs. Can she let go and become the sexual submissive that Adam as never even attempted to draw out of her? Silly people... you must read this one to find out!!!
Oh wow, I really enjoyed this one and found it inspiring. Sahara is no holds barred. Sometimes I have to admit that when I read a novella, afterward I feel cheated, that something was lacking. This is definitely not the case with these Tethered Arms stories. I am eager to read the next 2 and hope that Sahara has more planned.
The second book in Cat Johnson's Oklahoma Nights series, Two Times as Hot packs a punch for the petite teller of awesome tales.
It's wedding time for Becca Hart and Tucker Jenkins, which means all sorts of people who normally would be kept apart by the day to day, come together to party. Lieutenant Colonel Logan Hunt was intent on remaining the career military man but when he sets his eyes on his best friend's hot little future sister-in-law, sanity goes out the window. When he spies Emma Hart in the company of Bull Rider, Jace Mills, he gets a tinge of jealousy and he doesn't even know her yet.
Having been robbed of a hot night with a cowboy, Emma Hart returns to Oklahoma, the scene of the crime, still the deprived woman. When Jace appears to be apologetic about their last ill-fated encounter, Emma decides to give him another chance until he totally messes up again. Enter wickedly handsome Logan to take up where Jace missed out, but things are different with Logan and Emma. They have a true liking for one another, mutual respect and admiration, but they still both only want a good time. Hmmm, but can Emma go back to her old life and can Logan return to his without the pair missing out on the best things that have ever happen to them?
In true Cat Johnson tradition, things become really complicated really fast and the reader is in for a wild ride filled with seriously hot sex scenes mixed into this gripping story. Once again I remained awake while the sunrise began to peek through my window and I finally read the last page. Nary a boring moment in Two Times as Hot by the indomitable Cat Johnson. This installment of the Oklahoma Nights series comes your way September 24th, but I suggest you get to pre-ordering it now. It's one very awesome read and I know you will love it as much as I did.

Review: Death takes a holiday. You call him Death, I call him tall, dark and handsome. Death thought he would take his long earned vacation lounging in a chair on his boat soaking up the rays. Until his friend's BITCHY as wife came along and dropped a bomb in his lap. Oh did I forget to mention that his friend's name is Lucifer, or Luc depending on how much heat you can stand. It appears she has lost their daughter. Now imagine Lucifer as the caring father of a teenager who is missing. Can we us the term "All Hell is breaking out"? So to stop both Earth and UnEarth and all the realms in between from being torched, Death had to go find the little spoiled brat. His travels takes him to a bar on Earth called Hellfire. This is were the brat usually visits. He doesn't find the brat but he finds something he didn't even know he needed. It finds.......wait a minute. Hell will freeze over before I tell. You have to read this and laugh like I did at Lucifer being a daddy and Death, well Death was himself.

Having made Tara Davidson's acquaintance in the first THE BRIDES OF WISHMORE book, THE BRIDE SAYS NO by Cathy Maxwell, we find Tara to be somewhat spoiled and headstrong. Why, this lady ran away from London on the cusp of her wedding because of her refusal to marry a man she did not love. Lucky for her sister Aileen, who happily ended up with Tara's would-be groom and a perfect match in the end. In the second installment of THE BRIDES OF WISHMORE series, THE BRIDE SAYS MAYBE, Tara is still "in love" with horse master extraordinaire, Ruary and she will stop at nothing to convince him that she is the woman for him... Oh but wait! Ruary is engaged to be married to a local girl. So the plot thickens...
Once again the Earl of Tay, substandard gambler and even more deficient father, has brokered a marriage for his daughter. This time the groom in question is Annefield's neighbor, Breccan Campbell who has paid the Earl for the "privilege" of his lovely daughter's hand, but Tara is still in love with Ruary, the common horse expert who even does business with Campbell. She is clearly opposed to any union with her wealthy neighbor, even if it will get her rogue of a father out of his financial straits. Breccan Campbell is known interestingly as the " Beast of Aberfeldy" and he is no simpering man of the ton. Breccan Campbell is a force to be reckoned with and he knows that Tara is going to be quite the challenge to win over, but he is completely up for that.
I must say that going into a story where I was in DISLIKE of the heroine was quite an interesting proposition for me. This is where the unique talent that author Cathy Maxwell has comes into play with her plot twists and her distinctive sense of humor, which inevitably melts the ice around that DISLIKE. It certainly doesn't hurt to have a uber awesome alpha hero like Breccan Campbell as well, who is now one of my permanent Book Boyfriends. This book has it all, adventure, a touch of mystery and a fabulous romance between this seemingly unlikely pair. It is such a pleasure to see such a spoiled little lass like Tara see the light, especially when such a strong and entertaining Breccan is the one to show Tara that light. Grab your copy of THE BRIDE SAYS MAYBE... and your copy of the BRIDE SAYS NO for that matter. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

When she tells the eighteen year old about her predicament, Will tells Marsha that he cannot be a father and to "take care" of it. So Marsha goes away to California and unbeknownst to most of Stagecoach, she gives birth to a son who she raises on her own while she puts herself through a grueling school schedule to somehow make the parents, who she let down, proud of her.
Fourteen years later, Marsha has a Ph.D. and a son who is as smart as a whip. Ryan has grown up without a father. Marsha decided that after Will Cash's reaction to her pregnancy that she would keep her son, Ryan's existence from most parties involved until a chance meeting with a Cash brother, and a terminal cancer diagnosis for her father, makes her decision no longer viable. So she sends off a letter to Will explaining about their now fourteen year old son.
When Will finds out he has a son, a multitude of emotions and questions spark to life. How could Marsha keep his son from him for all this time? Will struggles with the fact that his own father cast him aside and feels he has no business being a role model to a child, especially since Will has nothing of his own but a truck and the clothes on his back. Will was never a "student" but he got by however he possibly could. What's a guy with dyslexia supposed to do when he couldn't possibly have the grandparents who were taking care of his five siblings and himself pay for special lessons for him? So instead, Will just skated by and survived, but not enough to have the preacher's daughter overlook his shortcomings... Or could she?
Once Marsha is back in town and Ryan has a chance to meet his father, so many feelings that were pushed aside and never addressed spill out causing quite the time of it for all involved. The pastor fears losing his grandson and daughter to an unworthy cowboy, Marsha fears never having experienced the true love she always wanted because it will destroy her father, Ryan fears his father doesn't like him and Will fears he is inadequate on so many levels. Is it possible for all this fear to be overcome?
HER SECRET COWBOY by Marin Thomas is a life lesson wrapped up in a tiny little package called a book. From the very first page I was engrossed in the lives of these great people and waited with baited breath while the injustices and heartaches had by the characters played out. Marin Thomas has a way of messing with your head and your emotions like no other. She goes where so many dare not go. The admiration I have for this author for taking on this teenage pregnancy and then later, Willie's dyslexia, only prove that Miz Thomas is a force to be reckoned with in the literary world and I will follow wherever she will lead.
HER SECRET COWBOY is a treasure I will delve into again, as well as the previous Cash Brothers books, and I eagerly await for more from this talented lady named Marin Thomas. While this amazing book can be read on its own, I truly hope that the reader will grab the first two in The Cash Brothers series, THE COWBOY NEXT DOOR and TWINS UNDER THE CHRISTMAS TREE, as they are all treasure to be savored. After all, he is the one that all his men look to and look up to. He is a good man who feels he doesn't have much going for him after he allows his unfaithful ex have everything.
On the eve of the deployment he is goaded into taking time out with the men and some of their wives and girlfriends at a bar. He reluctantly goes along. The last thing he was thinking about was meeting a woman who would spur his interest, but that's exactly what happened.
Jen St. John has been through her own bit of anguish and has scars to prove it. After her own marriage fails, she feels somewhat unworthy of love and the daily reminder of her scars are proof enough for her to hide behind. A nurse in the military hospital, Jen deals on a daily basis with soldiers and their life threatening injuries unbeknownst to them, she is somewhat able to relate to them.
When Jen accompanies her friend out to a bar the night before the friend's husband leaves for his deployment, she finds herself attracted to the handsome but intense Sergeant When the evening ends in a kiss that neither soldier knew was coming, it changes them irrevocably.
Shane goes off to war with the constant reminder of that kiss while Jen remains on the home-front with it lingering in her mind. When the unthinkable happens and Shane is badly injured and sent to the very hospital Jen works, both must overcome their heartache and the ills that could make or break them.
I was very impressed with Because of You by Jessica Scott. Her first book, Because of You is gritty and honest. The reality that Jessica Scott may have lived through situations like this by way of her own military experience is daunting. This book has given me a greater respect for those you fight to protect our freedom as well as feel a sadness due to the trials and tribulations they must deal with on their own turf. It's not an in your face love story, it's subtle and cautious. Shane and Jen have more against them than the average couple and watching them work through their issues while trying to be productive and needed individuals in their daily lives is so refreshing. There are several back-stories going on that only add to the story and make one think, what's coming next. I eagerly await the release of the Jessica Scott's second book and recommend Because of You to all.
