^^ A LITTLE BIT OF A DEEP FREEZE!^^ 3.5 Will I say I was impressed by Shiver? Not really. I did like it but I wasn’t completely blown away. I give cred ^^ A LITTLE BIT OF A DEEP FREEZE!^^ 3.5 Will I say I was impressed by Shiver? Not really. I did like it but I wasn’t completely blown away. I give credit to the fact that it was an original spin on a werewolf story and that’s one of the reasons I am giving it 4 stars. Also that in a weird way I really enjoyed the character Sam, with his music lyrics and green soulful eyes, and his innocence. I found a lot of faults with this book, but it’s a great book aimed at its intended audience.
As a young girl Grace is attacked by wolves and almost killed, but she has a strong memory of one wolf saving her and human hands carrying her off. Since the tragedy the wolf who saved her life, Grace names him as her wolf. She watches him, he watches her in the cold frigid forest surrounding her house. Grace should be terrified of the wolves but she carries a borderline obsession for them and cant help sometimes feeling if only her wolf was a real boy.
With some attacks around the town and a boy being killed, the townsfolk are in upheaval and want the wolves gone. Grace panics because they might kill her wolf and she could not fathom life without his wolfish face. With gusto in her heart, Grace feels she can do something to stop the massacre but what she comes across is the very thing she has hoped for her wolf is a “real boy”.
The story is made up of very short chapters each entitled by the main protagonists name. For Sam they often went a little something like this: Chapter 12 “I saw her today, she was pretty”. Chapter end. It didn’t really go anything like that, but you get my drift.
I think I am hating because as a teenager a secretly longed for a boy to be staying in my room, right under my parents nose. Live life a little on the edge, heartbreaking because I might lose the boy I have come to love. Of course we would only be sleeping in my bed, because I am a lady and a teenager, and all I wanted was someone who understood me. I wanted to serenely stare out my window and long for a wolf, a magician or a vampire. Teenage life would have been sweeet.
I am not one to compare books to other books, cus come on what book doesn’t share similarities with other books, especially those in the paranormal genre. I think the talent is making the book your own brand of writing and Miss Maggie did that. So as I said I enjoyed Sam, and I kind of liked Grace. She is a little to sweet for my taste, but Sam likes her and that’s all good. The book remains true of its character and writing style and most young girls will definitely love it. It appealed to my better nature, because I am now staring out my window hoping to spot a wolf. No such luck though as I live in the city, I might spot a raccoon, and maybe it will be one hunky hotness of a man.
Will I read book two? Maybe, but not anytime soon.
I have to say I thought Visions of Vaughn was the shit in this series, but it’s like generic potato chi ^^THIS IS ONE ICEBERG I WOULD KILL TO CLIMB!^^
I have to say I thought Visions of Vaughn was the shit in this series, but it’s like generic potato chips, its good but its no fucking Lays. Caressed by Ice is Lays and it almost killed me. I was two seconds away from wanting a cold hearted boyfriend. I wanted the challenge; I wanted to be caressed by ice. Easily this book is the best I have read this year, and its only book three so I have serious hope that next thing you people read is my obituary or my confession of being a sex addict to ruthless sexy ice-cold telekinetic Psy.
Therefore, the third instalment of this gripping and downright sinful series, I can honestly say the first book was ok for me. Since then it seems Miss Singh has put on her writing cap and she came at me hard. From the get go I was intrigued by the Psy/Changeling world. The ice cold unfeeling Psy, and the passionate changeling species.
Judd is an arrow and lives his life in complete silence. Silence is never showing emotion, all feeling and thoughts are completely cut of from everyone and even himself. Though he resides with the SnowDancer pack in order to protect his family, Judd still very much lives by the Psy rules. He is an ice-cold killer the best with his mind killing tricks. Until there was Brenna, she makes him want crazy warm things; she makes him feel and its becoming hard to stay away.
Brenna was mind raped by a psychotic Psy, so she feels like half the person she use to be. Everyone around her treats her like glass, they are over protective and Brenna is fed up. She just wants to go back and be the wolf she was before the crazy Psy took everything from her. There is only one person who makes her feel things again, and it’s Judd Lauren. Its weird how she would fall for a Psy after what she has been through, but Judd makes her feel safe and she really just wants to break the ice that is Judd.
Seems a war is a brewing and the Psy race is hitting the changelings where it hurts most, but they underestimate them. I believe it’s about to become and epic fight. Someone is out to destroy Brenna, and that shit is hitting closer to home. Its betrayal all over the place, but it fails in comparison to the walking sex that is Judd. Holy, hell I almost succumbed to a sex coma. Judd has happens to be one of my fave characters of the year, he was just all that and a bag of chips. I wanted to get up close and personal with this iceberg, cus sometimes ice do burn.
I read the last few pages on the bus, and I had to double check my seat or else it would have been one of those moments where “I jizzed in my pants”. Hey, bus driver clean up at the back of the bus. This world is unlike any, and if the rest of the series continues to be this amazing. Time to invest in some depends, because it’s about to become hot in here. The story is gripping, the characters are hot and interesting, just never a dull moment.
SideNote- I recommend this series in a big way, I am a true believer in all things Psy/Changeling.
Who is afraid of the big bad wolf that surely isn’t me; instead I want to be hunted and stalked then devoured by the wolf. How l ^^BIG,BAD,AND SEXY!^^
Who is afraid of the big bad wolf that surely isn’t me; instead I want to be hunted and stalked then devoured by the wolf. How long I have been waiting for Missy and Graham’s story, a very long time, and I loved it. I always knew this book would have the funnies and hot sexual chemistry and Graham walking wolf of my dreams.
I know Miss Warren’s book aint nothing but fluff, but its cotton candy fluff, all sweet and sticky and no good for you. The writing order of the books is a bit messed up but it’s pretty easy to follow, basically we know that Missy and Graham are together until now but we finally get their story.
What is the book about? Wolf convinces shy and mouse like kindergarten teacher that she is the one for him and introduce her to life of the Others. What are the Others? All things supernatural and sexy, they exist and it’s a matter of time before they make their big come out. From the previous books we know this was no walk in the park, but lots of tumbles in the bed.
The story is fairly easy to follow and it’s no epic storytelling, but it has humour, smoking sexy time, and Graham. Yes! I love him, for him I would tolerate being owned, he can even buy me, renovate and sell. I would be property and it would be good. So as you can tell I really liked the book, and I will be continuing the series. I know these characters and there is never a dull moment. ...more
The second book in the Darkest Powers series is just as engaging as the first, more creepy action and a more Der ^^I AM IN LOVE WITH A TEENAGE WOLF!^^
The second book in the Darkest Powers series is just as engaging as the first, more creepy action and a more Derek. I am in love with this boy, I wanna go in the book and drop kick Chloe, so she can see what she is missing. I will say they have a lot of scenes alone together and they make me very happy.
For all y’all who don’t know Chloe is a new discovered necromancer ( able to awaken the dead), first she thought she was schizo but it was discovered that the home she was sent to after experiencing seeing a ghost, were finding ways to harvest her powers. Well after breaking loose, Chloe and her entourage are now on the run. We have Tori the sarcastic rich girl, Simon the ever so sweet gentleman, Derek the leader and authority figure of the group, and of course sweet and naïve Chloe.
Its interesting to see these very young people go out and fend for themselves. They no longer can call parents for help because they might be placed in danger, some are the bad guys and others have already gone missing. Everyday is a journey of survival and new realities. Plus this foursome bring the laughs and good times.
Kelley Armstrong is able to grab the reader and never let go, the relationships are real and very sweet. I am blown away by how a guy described as being ugly, can come off as the sexiest being, I am truly lusting after Derek. What this book lacks is romance but it is there if you manage to read between the lines. Overall an action packed book, with creepy dead things and just a pure thrilling ride.
Peeved- They talk about a necklace and I have yet to see the significance, all I know is the color has changed. ...more
I am so in love with Jacquelyn Frank’s world of demons. I could read about them all day, and it would not be enough. I ^^NOAH LET ME INTO YOUR ARK!^^
I am so in love with Jacquelyn Frank’s world of demons. I could read about them all day, and it would not be enough. I love how detailed everything is, and usually where I would be bored I am just revelling in it all.
Book 5 in the Nightwalkers series is by some extraordinary stuff, most will not agree because we expected the world from Noah. I am glad he was no extraordinary demon because it would have been too much. He was everything I wanted and more, though the book is less action packed than those before, this one lets you know there’s gonna be a war and it will be magnificent.
Noah is the caretaker of his race; he is not just king but someone who cares deeply for his people and his loved ones. Though he is the strength and compassion for many, at then end of they everyone goes home to their imprinted mate and he hopes for a just a little of that love. When vivid dreams including only one-woman start happening, Noah knows that the woman is destined to be his mate, all that is left is to find her and get it done.
The book mainly revolves around how Noah finally meets his mate, and the impact it will have on her life and those around them. Kestra just cannot believe the world she was thrust in (heheheh) and to make matters worst, it’s the dominant he-man from her dreams. She wants him something kind of fierce but she’s a ‘nobody can’t hold her down’ kinda woman. That includes the man saying she belongs to him, because the world has taught her never trust and eventually those you love will die.
I just loved reading this book, Kestra is kick-ass a little bit of a bitch most times but she still kicks ass. Noah is sex on legs, but he is still just Noah through and through. I am so glad I got to see a different side of him, where he got to be just a little bit selfish. Yet he still manages to be the leader his people deserve (like a boss). I cannot say how fecking impressed I am, love these guys love this world.
So much going down in the Nightwalker world, vampires killing other nightwalkers to gain their power. A crazy fire demon still on the loose and is working with those crazy ass necromancers. Jacob, Gideon, Elijah and Damien are still sexy. I am a slut for all of them! This series is defiantly worth the read.
I hope she writes about Stefan (real character), and Steve (made him up) and some other people cus I just wanna keep reading and loving this world.
So this is my first book by Kelley Armstrong and I know I like it, but I feel I should love it. It was a well written book,COULD HAVE HAD MORE BITE!!!
So this is my first book by Kelley Armstrong and I know I like it, but I feel I should love it. It was a well written book, with characters that are so well developed. Yet I found the character of Elena a bit annoying at times.
So here is the gist of the plot we meet Elena a woman trying to fit into the human world. Coming from a messed up childhood all she wants is normalcy and a mundane life. Things change for Elena when she is Bitten by someone who she loved completely. She is turned into a werewolf, and she is also the first and only female werewolf. Wolves can be made but not all survive. So here is this woman who is not only a wolf but is living to tell the tale. She has emotional struggles about where she fits in; wanting to be human but knowing that a few times a week she has to go through her change.
Elena returns home to The Pack after some suspicious calls from her pack brother. This is the last thing Elena wants, to be thrown back to the wolves. She fears coming face to face with that man that she loved and was betrayed by. All her anger is for him because he changed her from an ordinary woman to that of a female wolf. We meet Clay who is beautiful by the way, his description makes his looks angelic but he is far from that. Under all that good looks is the most dangerous wolf. A ruthless killer with no understanding of humanity yet he tries to conform for Elena. The other wolves are awesome, the father figure who is the Alpha, Nick the cute and frisky best friend of Clay. A well balance crew of characters.
So someone is out to destroy the pack. A group of wolves called Mutts, wolves who are not apart of the Pack. Who live their lives as the lowest of lows. They have come to the town where the pack lives and are trying to destroy the foundation of home that they have built. With huge dog sightings and bodies turning up all over town, something has to be done. Action is huge part of this book, definitely not a boring read. I love how the wolves maul humans, so sick and awesome.
It took me awhile to get into this book, very slow in the beginning for me, but after awhile it picked up speed and moved along nicely. The reason is because I could not like the character of Elena; her procrastination became annoying after awhile. The whole I want him but then I don’t was driving me crazy. Plus I was waiting fir her to express her anger on the person who bit her. That showdown never came just a few arguments and then some sex in the bush. Still enjoyed it and will continue the series. I am expecting some growth from Elena. On the PL scale(Pants Losing) it’s a 2 a few love scenes but very mild. Sexy but mild....more
What a surprise Pack Challenge was, I thought I would kinda like it but I ended up liking it a lot. It won’t be for everyone, ^^SOCIALLY CHALLENGED!^^
What a surprise Pack Challenge was, I thought I would kinda like it but I ended up liking it a lot. It won’t be for everyone, because the females are a little bit unrefined, and the story is far from spectacular. I did laugh though and I came to a realization, that I really enjoy my h/h unrefined (by unrefined I mean; brass, bold, and without polish).
Sara has scars on her body and in her heart. She finds it hard to trust, and only has a handful of close friends. She lost her parents at a young age and the scars on her body are proof of her survival. As the immense pain caused by the accident, which left the scars on her body, intensifies, Sara is finding it hard to pretend anymore. How long can she keep up the drinking, and finding reasons to get in to bar fights? Until a group of bikers show up on her home turf, and the sexy Zach makes an appearance. Sara starts feelings things, and she is feeling like an animal.
Zack does one thing and one thing only protects his pack. He has job to lookout for a female who has no idea she is a shifter, and he is finding himself wanting this woman with a serious chip on her shoulder (more like a branch). Zack knows Sara is one-step from crazy, but he wants her bad. He came to Texas to do job, not to find a mate and her crazy friends.
Therefore, to add some action, another bunch of shifters wants Sara dead in the name of pride, honour, revenge and all that. A crazy lion shifter cannot let bygones be bygones. Sara deals with being a wolf shifter like pro, which explains why her fuse is so short and easily combustible. In addition, why she feels like an animal when it comes to Zack and all she wants to do is rut, rut, and rut some more.
I liked the fact that Sara is one crazy B.I.T.C.H, with an attitude problem and no manners to speak of. Sometimes all these perfect heroines becomes tiresome, here’s a woman with flaws and all that. Zack is sexy, and knows how to throw down, nothing surprising here. I look forward to her friend’s book cus they be crazy. I realized that I like my women crazy *who know*. This is light fluffy and will go buy in no time, if you looking to laugh a little then this book is for you.
This series has been a rollercoaster ride of awesomeness. There is never a dull moment, when it comes to this family of Seminu^^SINFULLY CONTAGIOUS!^^
This series has been a rollercoaster ride of awesomeness. There is never a dull moment, when it comes to this family of Seminus demons and any other form of paranormal species. We were introduced to UG hospital in the frist book, its got drama, sex and the hottest bunch of species. You would be intentionally getting hit by cars, and starting fights just to get hurt. There is a whole bunch of Dr Feel Good up in that hospital. Book 5 is about the unexpected sister, and her lovely and sexy Con. Man was this book a pleasure to read.
Book 4 ended with a plague killing all the wargs (werewolves), this illness started by the kick-ass assassin Sin. Not done intentionally, the disease is spreading like wildfire and wargs are dying everywhere. It seems the disease is about to start a civil war between the born wargs and the turned. Sin is caught right up in it, since the disease is her doing, and to add a little more to the plate Sin is in charge of the assassin den and they all want her dead. It seems she’s gonna have to get help from the sexy dhampire and her overprotective brothers.
This group of people always has someone out to get them, first it was a crazy brother, then later it was someone else’s crazy brother. Now it’s a whole race of wolves, they can never catch a break. When it comes to emotional walls this book had it in abundance. Sin has been through hell and back, and it’s understandable her fears. Con is fighting against his birthright and becoming close to others. You think. How will these two work out? Effing beautifully.
I wanted to ride Con like a steed (oops did I just write that), what a bowl of hotness. It’s as if the wolf/vampire takes sexiness to a completely new level. Con and Sin together is a whole bunch of illegal hotness, they say what they want and they take what they need. It was them against the world, and their feelings. It was great to see the whole family in this one; I want to sign some papers that would make me legally theirs. What an awesome family, I might sexually assault my brothers; but there is never too much love in a family *winks*.
I love Miss Ione’s world building; it’s crazier and better in every book. Never a dull moment and I find there is always a little subtext of homosexuality (once again it could all just be in my head). Makes me think that the author could possibly write a wicked M/M book. That visit to the wolf village, was a little bit of heaven for me. Fighting and then fucking, these male wolves know how to throw down.
I love this series, and though this is the conclusion. I hope this is not the last of the Sem bros. They make all my little sexy dreams come true. Awesome conclusion got a tear in my eye, had a lot of work to do with my bucket and mop.
The third book in the Immortals after Dark is pure jungle fever. Each story is about a powerful supernatural male and hisWICKED DEEDS = WICKED FUN!!!
The third book in the Immortals after Dark is pure jungle fever. Each story is about a powerful supernatural male and his equally powerful mate. Once again I would like to praise Kresley Cole on how her books begin, pure action to the face and enough steaminess to cause a fog out. Defogger anyone!!!
We meet Bowen MacReive a very depressing Lykae( werewolf). After two centuries living with the guilt he feels caused his mate to die, he is one angry wolf. So Bowen becomes well known in No Rest for The Wicked where he is participating in the Hie the supernatural version of the amazing race, lets just say he doesn’t win the prize at the end. So he is in a bloody bad mood seems like a dog just lost his bone. He then spots a witch and he hates witches, after leaving said witch locked in a tomb with some other species thinking they can make it out there was he ever wrong. After so long he is finally attracted to someone and the guilt is nawing at him, his wolf instinct wants to claim said hated witch as his mate and everyone knows you only get one mate in a Lykae immortal life. His mate was dead “so wat up wit dat”. Plus it seems the witch is still locked in the tomb, the gods really aren’t smiling down on Bowen.
Mariketa is pissed and when she leaves the tomb she will have a certain Lykae’s head. After 3 weeks of darkness no food and water it seems that Mari’s life is hanging by a very thin thread. Mari hasn’t come into her immortality yet so she could die in this cave without ever have achieved anything. She would hate the Lykae if she didn’t want his pants removed. Finally rescued and fed, Bowen is talking about mate and a whole bunch of craziness that she does not want to hear. Stuck in the middle of a jungle with hostile humans hell bent on destroying each other. Throw in her destructive magic and an overbearing werewolf and the hot blazing sun all you can think about is wicked deeds. A werewolf and a witch is about set the lush greenery on fire causing the destruction of some jungle animals.
Wicked Deeds on a Winter’s Night is a joyride of every emotion you can think of. Bowen is pure gorgeousness wrapped in a hotness package. His Scottish burr will leave goose bumps on the skin he is all alpha male and funny as hell. I loved his character. Mariketa a bit annoying in the beginning but she grows on you and creates a nice balance to Bowen. They will have to overcome a many obstacles which leads to a happy ending. This series makes me feel like a kid in a candy store, so many sweets for the sampling and by sweets I mean men. Its like my mom saying “ hey, hurry up and pick one” but you know that you cant because they all look so freaking good. So take walk down this candy isle and sample a wide range of flavours don’t forget to brush. Man I love this series pure wicked fun, also can be enjoyed on a springs night....more
A Hunger Like No Other is a winner, a book so well written it brought me out of my reading funk. I wanted to read it so badly I hadHUNGRY FOR MORE!!!
A Hunger Like No Other is a winner, a book so well written it brought me out of my reading funk. I wanted to read it so badly I had to force myself to put it down, when opposites attract in this case species there sure will be fireworks. Whooza this book was good and here’s why.
Lachlain is a Lykae aka werewolf and he is the king of the Lykae species, imprisoned by vampires for over 150 years he is in a bit of a bad mood. While suffering death every night only to come alive again each morning, he’s starting to lose his will until he catches a scent, the scent of his mate a woman that he has been waiting his whole life for and he knows he has to escape and find her for she is his salvation. What he doesn’t expect to discover is that his mate is a vampire and he hates vampires.
Emmaline is on a mission in Paris, she is looking for her father and the task is proving difficult, plus she is hungry and has run out of blood and she’s never fed directly from a human before. What she fears most is becoming the evil that is half her blood. She might be the only female vampire around and being mixed with Valkyrie (a group of warrior woman who can control electricity and are immortal, plus they love to shop.) She is a bit special. Suddenly she is confronted by a man that looks half craze and is taken on a ride that will change her life forever. Did I mention this half crazed man is beautiful, that makes things a wee bit better?
Emma can’t believe her luck, has she really just been kidnapped and by a wolf, and plus he seems to hate her existence. Lachlain is having a hard time believing that this woman is his mate a vampire. Call it irony, the species he hates the most so happens to be the one he is destined to be with. He can’t help his desire for her, she soothes the beast within him when he so angry at the world. Everything around him has changed since he has been imprisoned and this creature calms him. Emma wants to get away but she feels there is something more to this kidnapping, and her desire for him is growing. While avoiding sexual harassment and drinking straight from a person, Lachlain will give her many firsts and she will come to love them.
This book was awesome and sexy, Lach is the ultimate alpha-male, just enough brood and violence in him to get your mojo going and when it comes to Emma he becomes a sap with some serious wolfish ways. Emma started out a girly girl but then she becomes one tough chick and I enjoyed it. She avoids being a pushover, and she gives as good as she gets. This unlikely pair is a match made in heaven, they have a lot or prejudices to overcome and will find a love like no other. I love how the supernatural isn’t all peaches and cream, while vampires are beautiful they are evil and hated among all the lore and I liked it. Action and some very dangerous women this book brings girl power to a whole new level, and I can’t wait to dive in the other, because I have feeling they will rock just as much as this one. For all you guys who love a steamy read this one is a 4 on the PL scale. Oh the dialogue had me panting like a dog, pun intended.
The fourth book of the Others series, is right up there with the rest in the series. The Others are vampires, werewolves and all things"A WOOOOOOOOO"
The fourth book of the Others series, is right up there with the rest in the series. The Others are vampires, werewolves and all things that go bump in the night or hang out in the day. Humans now know of the Others existence and the coming out was no walk in the park (check previous books for the actual event). Let’s just say humans are a bit wary of things that are stronger and faster than them.
This one is about Noah and Sam who I met previously in the third book and you know there was going to be some trouble ahead for the human man and the very lupine woman. Sam is fighting her desire for Noah and ignoring what her heart and her wolf is telling her, this man might be her mate and she had no plans for a mate and to make things worst he’s a human and cocky as hell. Sam is content to be by herself and with her pack and he just came in and made an uncomplicated life very complicated. What’s a wolf to do, how about ripping said man clothes of and howling at the moon together. In that case things might be looking up for Sam.
Noah has his own agenda as to why he is visiting the pack and is hanging with the others. They think he’s here to recruit some of the pack members to the army but instead he’s on a mission to find out about a pack doctor who is doing research on the lupine gene and might have discovered how to mix it with human genes. This makes it a hot commodity; because all the answers will be in that research and human sickness might one day become extinct. He hates lying because he considers these people his friends and plus he seems to be falling for Sam and if she finds out he’s been lying all this time there goes his intestines.
So with the army we know that they want to build stronger soldiers and with this new finding it was just a matter of time before some crazy jumped on started with their own experiments. Oblivious to all this Noah thought his job was just to gather information and report his finding but his boss has other ideas and might be ahead with mixing human and Other DNA. So it’s now up to Sam and Noah and their group of shapeshifting and witch friends to blow this before all others end up in danger because of their abilities.
This was a fast paced read filled with excitement and fun, plus we had the whole crew of previous characters from other books in the series, and let’s just say there was never a dull moment. This series is one of the best for me and I can’t wait to continue. On the PL scale (Pants losing) it’s about a 2.5 not as hot as the others but still had some sizzle.
