This series has been a rollercoaster ride of awesomeness. There is never a dull moment, when it comes to this family of Semin ^^SINFULLY CONTAGIOUS!^^
This series has been a rollercoaster ride of awesomeness. There is never a dull moment, when it comes to this family of Seminus demons and any other form of paranormal species. We were introduced to UG hospital in the frist book, its got drama, sex and the hottest bunch of species. You would be intentionally getting hit by cars, and starting fights just to get hurt. There is a whole bunch of Dr Feel Good up in that hospital. Book 5 is about the unexpected sister, and her lovely and sexy Con. Man was this book a pleasure to read.
Book 4 ended with a plague killing all the wargs (werewolves), this illness started by the kick-ass assassin Sin. Not done intentionally, the disease is spreading like wildfire and wargs are dying everywhere. It seems the disease is about to start a civil war between the born wargs and the turned. Sin is caught right up in it, since the disease is her doing, and to add a little more to the plate Sin is in charge of the assassin den and they all want her dead. It seems she’s gonna have to get help from the sexy dhampire and her overprotective brothers.
This group of people always has someone out to get them, first it was a crazy brother, then later it was someone else’s crazy brother. Now it’s a whole race of wolves, they can never catch a break. When it comes to emotional walls this book had it in abundance. Sin has been through hell and back, and it’s understandable her fears. Con is fighting against his birthright and becoming close to others. You think. How will these two work out? Effing beautifully.
I wanted to ride Con like a steed (oops did I just write that), what a bowl of hotness. It’s as if the wolf/vampire takes sexiness to a completely new level. Con and Sin together is a whole bunch of illegal hotness, they say what they want and they take what they need. It was them against the world, and their feelings. It was great to see the whole family in this one; I want to sign some papers that would make me legally theirs. What an awesome family, I might sexually assault my brothers; but there is never too much love in a family *winks*.
I love Miss Ione’s world building; it’s crazier and better in every book. Never a dull moment and I find there is always a little subtext of homosexuality (once again it could all just be in my head). Makes me think that the author could possibly write a wicked M/M book. That visit to the wolf village, was a little bit of heaven for me. Fighting and then fucking, these male wolves know how to throw down.
I love this series, and though this is the conclusion. I hope this is not the last of the Sem bros. They make all my little sexy dreams come true. Awesome conclusion got a tear in my eye, had a lot of work to do with my bucket and mop.
Seriously, I am giving nothing away. Only things that you already/might know.
All I wanna do is begin with a chant, Barrons Barro ^^TOTAL EPICNESS!!!^^
Seriously, I am giving nothing away. Only things that you already/might know.
All I wanna do is begin with a chant, Barrons Barrons Barrons BARrons BARRons BARROns BARRONs BARRONS BARRONS BARRONS. All the freaking ways I love this man, but before I write an ode to all that is Barrons, I am gonna share a bit about the series and why its just so freaking compelling.
So from book one Mackayla Lane is going through some stuff. She had to deal with the death of her sister, being thrown from her lazy days of lounging by the pool, and dealing with the realities of life. Leaving her home to visit Dublin where her sister was killed. Everything Mac has known gets poofed out in a cloud of dust. She is introduced to a completely new world, where the Fae walks the earth, and suddenly she has become a hot commodity. Who can she trust to teach her the way, help comes when she steps into a bookstore and meet Barrons for the first time.
Through book one, Mac is not really a character to love but she does grow through out the series, and you will come to respect her. She basically is the one that can prevent the destruction of the world, able to sense the Sinsar Dubh, a book of powerful evil, and limitless power. This small town girl who once worshipped pink and manicures becomes someone I like to call the Mac Attack, with her equally mysterious partner Barrons these two begin to hunt. It’s a journey of self-discovery, unwavering pain, and the most exhilarating Fae book I have ever read. Miss Moning you brought the pain, you brought it hard.
Shadowfever is a joyride of butterflies in your tummy; you thought you knew something, only to realize you didn’t know shit. Speaking of shit, it hit’s the proverbial fan and I am pretty sue I saw some on the clouds. Surprises were everywhere, for all those who read the ending of book 4; you know what I am saying. I was like “Noooooooooooo!”, then later I was like “Yessssssss!”, this book will surely knock you the eff out.
Leaving you with questions like: What is Barrons? (Not as if it matters, you would still wanna do him) What is Mac? Who is Mac? Mac just do Barrons already! (We know how good they are together already, yes its all in book 4) Also, you will ask yourself. Where is my pants? (cus you know you ditched them between that was sexy and that was really sexy)
BARRONS-Really I could spend days talking about him. He is one of those heroes that are very anti-hero, he is not nice, charming, he doesn’t go out of his way to sweep the girl off her feet. He gives you the truth always, and he wont cuddle you when you crying. Isn’t he dreamy? And even though most of his actions was bit sketchy, he was always honest, and through his ‘I am so tough’ his true character shines through. He is fierce and loyal once you have his trust. Basically, I want him naked and tied to my bedpost, then I would untie him to see how he would punish me *sigh*.
As I said lots of shockers and face falling off moments, this series is just fecking *WOW*. We learn many things, some people aren’t who they said they were, others become something else, Mac is the legacy of what they fear most. Through it all though Barrons is the same, still the sexiest bastard around. The ending is just *awwwww* so freaking happy.
I still am saying ‘I can’t believe that happened’ ‘Did Barrons really just say that?’ ‘Will Barrons get naked with me?’ ‘Will his whole crew get naked with me?’
V'Lane I am not talking to you, if that is even your real name.*winks*
Finally, its young boy Tommy’s book, and his older love interest. Then I realized Tommy aint so young and his love interest ^^ITS A LINE OF HOTNESS!^^
Finally, its young boy Tommy’s book, and his older love interest. Then I realized Tommy aint so young and his love interest still got ways to go, to be considered older, way off of being considered old. I liked book four, not the spectacularness that is book three but its still another great instalment. What’s not to love about firefighters, hot bodied men, and burning buildings. Not a damn thing, not a damn bloody thing.
Tommy is the baby of Station 5, only twenty-three years old. His co-workers pick him on in a fun sort of way. It’s been good watching his colleagues fall in love, and hoping things might be the same for him. He already has a woman in sight, but she’s older and has been treating him like a kid brother.
Shea Ford is a nurse, and is seriously attracted to Tommy. She feels like she has been through a lot in her life. Therefore, his experiences and age might make him just a little too young for her. She cannot deny that she is deeply attracted to him, and is starting to even care. When Tommy is hurt on the job, all the feelings she has been denying comes rushing in head on.
So here I am expecting some serious age gap right, I thought Shea was gonna be like 35 or something. I was expecting BIG THINGS. Shea is the tender age of twenty-eight (numeric 28), Tommy is twenty-three so that is an age gap of five years. In my book not exactly something that would make my head spin. I thought she was gonna be at least 10 years away from using depends or something, I just think they are in the same age group.
Now the story and the characters are pretty exciting. There is a freaking heart attack moment at the end, and I almost died. I loved it, I think it amplified the whole series and is making me itch to read book five, I am talking swarmed by mosquitoes itch. I really loved Tommy, he might be young, but he got skills in the bedroom. Shea, I don’t really clap my hands in glee for her, she was just alright for me. Maybe it’s because she’s so old she could have been his mom or something (sarcastic much).
I would like to reflect on the popping up of anal in Miss Davis’s sex scenes, *reflecting*…………It is good.
So overall another great instalment in this sexy series. It was great to hear about the other guys and drool, and spontaneously combust and all that. ...more
What a surprise Pack Challenge was, I thought I would kinda like it but I ended up liking it a lot. It won’t be for everyone, ^^SOCIALLY CHALLENGED!^^
What a surprise Pack Challenge was, I thought I would kinda like it but I ended up liking it a lot. It won’t be for everyone, because the females are a little bit unrefined, and the story is far from spectacular. I did laugh though and I came to a realization, that I really enjoy my h/h unrefined (by unrefined I mean; brass, bold, and without polish).
Sara has scars on her body and in her heart. She finds it hard to trust, and only has a handful of close friends. She lost her parents at a young age and the scars on her body are proof of her survival. As the immense pain caused by the accident, which left the scars on her body, intensifies, Sara is finding it hard to pretend anymore. How long can she keep up the drinking, and finding reasons to get in to bar fights? Until a group of bikers show up on her home turf, and the sexy Zach makes an appearance. Sara starts feelings things, and she is feeling like an animal.
Zack does one thing and one thing only protects his pack. He has job to lookout for a female who has no idea she is a shifter, and he is finding himself wanting this woman with a serious chip on her shoulder (more like a branch). Zack knows Sara is one-step from crazy, but he wants her bad. He came to Texas to do job, not to find a mate and her crazy friends.
Therefore, to add some action, another bunch of shifters wants Sara dead in the name of pride, honour, revenge and all that. A crazy lion shifter cannot let bygones be bygones. Sara deals with being a wolf shifter like pro, which explains why her fuse is so short and easily combustible. In addition, why she feels like an animal when it comes to Zack and all she wants to do is rut, rut, and rut some more.
I liked the fact that Sara is one crazy B.I.T.C.H, with an attitude problem and no manners to speak of. Sometimes all these perfect heroines becomes tiresome, here’s a woman with flaws and all that. Zack is sexy, and knows how to throw down, nothing surprising here. I look forward to her friend’s book cus they be crazy. I realized that I like my women crazy *who know*. This is light fluffy and will go buy in no time, if you looking to laugh a little then this book is for you.
Man how I enjoyed this book, it was action packed and down right awesome sauce. I am in love with that blue haired devil called ^^LIE TO ME BABY!^^
Man how I enjoyed this book, it was action packed and down right awesome sauce. I am in love with that blue haired devil called Gideon. The Mr sexy, keeper of lies, which means he has to speak lies instead of truth. So everything he says means the complete opposite. He just met the keeper of nightmares and she is saying that they were married and shared a son, but Gideon can’t remember a thing but he knows this woman, he yearns for this woman.
So the lords are still fighting their human enemies who believe them evil, but it turns out they are the evil biatches, so it becomes a fight between the gods, and all that Gideon and Scarlet hold dear is put to the test. Scarlet is the daughter of Rhea, and hated by Cronus. So let’s say all the sexy powerful people want her dead, but the keeper of nightmares is no push over. She can kick ass and take names like any of the lords, and she wants Gideon something fierce. It seems though that someone has played some mind tricks on Scarlet and things aren’t what they seem. Will Scarlet lose it all? On the other hand, will she gain everything through their deception?
I am gonna tell you how I feel about everything in this book through Gideon speak. ‘I completely effing hated it. No, I don’t want to have sex with Gideon, I think he is the ugliest lord and the piercings do not make me lose my pants. I never once thought about an Amun/Aeron sandwich, just the thought of it disgusts me. I was in no way attracted to Scarlet; she was a complete bitch, and totally undeserving of Gideon. One of the books I hated the most in the series, not as action packed as the others.’ Take everything I just said and switch it around.
SIDE STORIES- Legion has people killing themselves off again. William has strong feelings for jailbait. Amun goes bat shit crazy, and man is the silence and brooding sexy on him. Paris’s hunter chick is back and bat shit crazy. All the shite is about to hit the fan.
I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for Amun’s book, he’s so bat shit crazy right now. ...more
Hands down, Crave is better than the first book in this heart pounding series. Where Covet was an introduction to th ^^I CRAVE A SHITE LOAD MORE!^^ 4.5
Hands down, Crave is better than the first book in this heart pounding series. Where Covet was an introduction to the other side of Caldwell, Crave is established and brings the jaw drop and goose bumps. The Warden offers up a writing style all her own and some of the greatest leading men, these guys make being good “oh so bad”.
Jim Heron is to the save the world by saving seven souls. He is up against a WICKED biatch. She would make you welcome the antichrist with open arms. The soul Jim believes he must save is someone he knows very well, and brings him back to the life (temporarily) he left behind. He connects with old acquaintances, and the future is looking all kinds of grim for all of them.
Isaac Roth is on the run from something you are not allowed to run from. Being an ex-X-OP, his life is all about running and fighting. Until he gets caught; and the sexy lawyer is making him think about throwing in the towel and facing his demons. Great fantasy, but the person he is running from will kill him and everyone he knows. There is something else at play and Isaac is it finding it hard to figure things out, when an old friend appears (Jim Heron) and is hell bent on keeping him safe it ups his weird metre by a 50, what so important about himself anyways and why does it seem like the world is depending on it. Or so Jim think?
What the book is ultimately about is good vs. evil, and no one is more evil and ridiculous than our villain Devina. Talk about psycho bitch from hell (literally). She is crazy, out of this world and those are the one that make a ‘good’ bad guy. Devina is unlike anything I have read in a long time, she’s evil but I can’t help liking her. Does some serious shit happen? You damn right it does, it all kinds of does. My heart was hurting for Jim in Devina's love dungeon. Jim comes back like a roundhouse kick, all up in your face and making it hurt.
If you are looking for a true romance, it’s not in this book. However, if you want a bad romance (excuse my lady gaga reference), this book has it. This is all about “slam bam thank you mam” kinda shit. No roses and flower petals here, just bad times leading to everlasting love.
I think the Warden has a writing style that is all her own, and I am so glad she keeps to her originality. There are just so many lines in the book that made me smile, only J.R would put those twists on words and have them make total sense. I look forward to Envy, the third book in the series, cus gawd how I love me some Jim, Adrian and Eddie. Lets also not forget Dog, though his scenes were less they were all the more awesome.
SideNote- I think there are two angels, who are secretly in love with each other. They go by the name of Nigel and Colin (and I believe their love might soon be no secret at all). Awww the things that happen in my head ;)
I am so in love with Jacquelyn Frank’s world of demons. I could read about them all day, and it would not be enough. I ^^NOAH LET ME INTO YOUR ARK!^^
I am so in love with Jacquelyn Frank’s world of demons. I could read about them all day, and it would not be enough. I love how detailed everything is, and usually where I would be bored I am just revelling in it all.
Book 5 in the Nightwalkers series is by some extraordinary stuff, most will not agree because we expected the world from Noah. I am glad he was no extraordinary demon because it would have been too much. He was everything I wanted and more, though the book is less action packed than those before, this one lets you know there’s gonna be a war and it will be magnificent.
Noah is the caretaker of his race; he is not just king but someone who cares deeply for his people and his loved ones. Though he is the strength and compassion for many, at then end of they everyone goes home to their imprinted mate and he hopes for a just a little of that love. When vivid dreams including only one-woman start happening, Noah knows that the woman is destined to be his mate, all that is left is to find her and get it done.
The book mainly revolves around how Noah finally meets his mate, and the impact it will have on her life and those around them. Kestra just cannot believe the world she was thrust in (heheheh) and to make matters worst, it’s the dominant he-man from her dreams. She wants him something kind of fierce but she’s a ‘nobody can’t hold her down’ kinda woman. That includes the man saying she belongs to him, because the world has taught her never trust and eventually those you love will die.
I just loved reading this book, Kestra is kick-ass a little bit of a bitch most times but she still kicks ass. Noah is sex on legs, but he is still just Noah through and through. I am so glad I got to see a different side of him, where he got to be just a little bit selfish. Yet he still manages to be the leader his people deserve (like a boss). I cannot say how fecking impressed I am, love these guys love this world.
So much going down in the Nightwalker world, vampires killing other nightwalkers to gain their power. A crazy fire demon still on the loose and is working with those crazy ass necromancers. Jacob, Gideon, Elijah and Damien are still sexy. I am a slut for all of them! This series is defiantly worth the read.
I hope she writes about Stefan (real character), and Steve (made him up) and some other people cus I just wanna keep reading and loving this world.
What can I say, what can I say. I love this series, I love this book, and would be willing to make some questionable deal ^^I DON'T HAVE THE WORDS!^^
What can I say, what can I say. I love this series, I love this book, and would be willing to make some questionable deal with the devil for a little bit of Lore. I love me some Sem boys, and this book was all kinds of explosive. I don’t know what it says about a person when you are willing to go head to head, with four brothers. I would take them all on, they are so delicious, soooo “mmmm, mmmmm good”.
I don’t want to spend too much time explaining what this series is all about, but here is the short version. Sexy brothers, a hospital, and some really evil things. This is all about demons my friends, seminus demons, all walking talking sex. We get Lore’s HEA in this one, another brother introduced in the mix in book three. Lore has got some baggage, he is an assassin and has just been ordered to kill someone, and if he does it will forever put a wedge between him and his brothers.
In comes angel in waiting Idess, really…. I don’t know if I like this woman for Lore. He is so super awesome and she is sort of mediocre as a heroine. I thought someone with a little more personality would have been perfect for him. Idess is far from a simpering heroine, but I wasn’t really feeling her. Her family history is a bit interesting, and the bad guy and her go way back. I totally never saw it coming, what an asshole.
UGH is a big deal in this book, but lets be real “General Hospital” is a big deal all over, and nope not the soap opera. The hospital run by the sexiest brothers around is falling apart, and it looks like it could be the end of the bros. I am not gonna pretend that the demon I want to get up close and dirty with wasn’t being a complete asshole. Shade, really grinded my gears in this one, he grinded them hard *winks*.
Long story cut short. There is destruction, mayhem, and the sexiest potty mouth demon/human character ever. Lore defines my dirtiness and we would blow minds together. There is twist to the series in this one, good/bad that is left to be seen.
Lore oh Lore, I would give you things. I want to be words in these books, sexy words.
READ THIS SERIES! I KEEP TELLING YOU GUYS IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. ...more
I really enjoyed this continuation of the Night Huntress world, even though it lacked the charm of th ^^HEY SPADE, I AM WILLING TO SHOW YOU MY ACES!^^
I really enjoyed this continuation of the Night Huntress world, even though it lacked the charm of the previous series; it still brought quite an entertaining story.
We have the best-friends of Cat and Bones in this one. Good ole Denise and Spade, even though I barely tolerated Denise and I am all kinds of obsessed with Spade. We get a vampire versus demon clash, and the transformation of human Denise into something different.
Denise’s whole family is dying and it’s a little suspicious to Denise, being aware of the things that go bump in the night. It just too odd for healthy people to be dying of heart attacks and other natural causes and she has a sneaking suspicion that she is next. When a little girl comes a knocking at her door one night, and then transforms right before her eyes into a man. Seems all the things she feared becomes true, it seems she is a descendent of someone who made a deal with a demon, and he wants the whole family to pay up. Marked with demon marks, Denise has to go to the very things she’s been trying to keep away from, vampires. Being a part of their world has brought her nothing but pain, but it seems that depending on one vamp in particular might end up saving her life.
Spade is a master vampire, ruling over his people, until he gets a call from a woman, he’s been trying to forget, a very human woman. Relationship with humans always ends badly, and Spade knows this first-hand. He gets a call from Denise, and it becomes a job to keep her alive, while trying to avoid his lusty feelings in his pants. It becomes quite predictable actually.
Well I liked it, I really did enjoy Spade. He makes me want eat him alive and spit out his belt afterwards. For those who have read the Cat and Bones series, you will know Ian. He makes this book shine with the very little scenes he has, and I can’t wait to see the woman who lands him; GOOD LUCK GIRL.
THE COVER!! Seriously, what happened here? This is one creepy looking dude, and it no way does it resemble Spade. Spade is sex on legs; this cover guy is one look away from being a pervert or Bram Stokers Dracula (in other words un-sexy). Next time just throw some abs or a sexy back on there; you see we readers don’t really ask for much. If your aim was to not make people read the book, then you have SUCCESS!
So I enjoyed book, wanna do Spade and all that. ...more
Book 7 in the Breed series takes us to Alaska, and seriously, I wasn’t expecting that. It seemed like qui ^^ALASKA AND VAMPIRES,WHEN HOT MEETS COLD!^^
Book 7 in the Breed series takes us to Alaska, and seriously, I wasn’t expecting that. It seemed like quite the leap, from city vampires to frozen terrain of unknown Alaska. As the book progressed, it started to sort of make sense, when you have an animalistic predator on the prowl his pursuit of any and everything living would take them anywhere.
Well the people of a small town in Alaska are about to be ripped apart and their cold haven becoming a living nightmare. When the Breed hears about the murders and can clearly see that it was done by a rogue vampire, they send Kade native Alaskan to clean up the mess in picturesque Harmony, where the people are going stir crazy over the murders.
Alex Maguire is the first to discover the mutilated bodies of a family, and its bringing back memories of her past. Flashbacks of fangs and men who were more monster than man, killing her family. She knows that something terrible is killing the people of Harmony and no one can stop it. Until the sexy stranger shows up, putting hope and love in her heart at the same time. It seems there is more to Kade than Alex is willing to accept, but who can say no when the man makes her hot in the cold country.
Alaska before Kade shows up . It was cold and Barren and he brought the heat.
Alaska after Kade. He melt that sucker down
From the previous book the Breed is hunting the grandfather of the vampire race, and he is just hard to get. Seems it has made its way to Alaska and is killing cus it super pissed about being held captive for centuries. Kade was not looking for love but he finds it in Alex who happens to be a breedmate, together they must hunt and stop granddaddy vamp from killing the small Alaskan town.
RunDown- Kade has a twin, I shed one solitary tear for him. Just so moving. Other breed bros show up, and man do I have my eyes on that Chase. He is tortured, sexy, and how I hope he likes men (once again crazy stuff in my head). Someone falls of a icy cliff, is it dead?(I doubt it!)
Confused Face- Alaska was like a huge leap for the series, never saw it coming. I guess it lost some edgy points cus it was just snow and up ahead there was more snow. City kills was missing here.
I didn't hate the book; but it was not my fave, mushy and predictable it was. I look forward to the next book though....more
^^MONA LISA, SEEMS TO BE GIVING OUT MORE THAN HER SMILE!^^
When I started this series, I freaking loved it. It was a different kind of PNR, and the ^^MONA LISA, SEEMS TO BE GIVING OUT MORE THAN HER SMILE!^^
When I started this series, I freaking loved it. It was a different kind of PNR, and the writing was so fresh and clean. Now, I think this book has taken on a completely new theme. How many men can Mona Lisa sleep with in each book? I am saying this woman is open like a 7/11, coming from the same woman who preached humanity with “I was raised human soooooo… I can only have one lover”. Girl you preaching to the wrong church.
A quick run down, this series is about the Monere children. A world filled with inhuman beings who gather strength from the light of the moon, and they are very matriarchal society. The female run things in this series. So Mona Lisa aka (Mona Loose Legs) was raised human only to later find out she is a queen of the monere and one of the strongest of her people. She gets two lovers, has some run in with an evil bitch and the beat goes on.
In this book, our Mona Lisa has come a long way, her life is still in upheaval and she mourning the death of a lover and my fave character. She has brand new beau who she desires and fears. It seems that they share a past, a very scary one. So that makes it guy number 175 (not the actual amount just my exaggerated estimate). She is mated to the Prince of hell, a man I personally want to get naked with. Just a whole bunch of things, which I hardly cared about. Yet, I did enjoy reading the book; maybe it’s my morbid fascination to see who will next enter the Mona Lisa passage of love.
Where as I loved the first book, this one just seemed like half the unique essence that was book one flew away. I really do think that this book offers up a unique concept in the PNR genre, it’s erotic and sexy. Just seems Mona needs to close those legs up a bit, its getting somewhat old. I have the next book in the series, and I hope it brings back the excitement that the two previous books offered. ...more
I cannot believe that I liked this book. I have this thing where I end up completely hating erotica, and that mostly has to do ^^HARDLY A GOOD RIDE!^^
I cannot believe that I liked this book. I have this thing where I end up completely hating erotica, and that mostly has to do with the sex. Its usually boring and the same old thing but a different setting. This book had two people that made it delicious, and a motel scene that was like a fantasy dream come true.
To sum it up, a girl and a douche bag. Douchbag is married, girl had no idea; relationship ends. In walks in hot sexy cowboy man, offers up a tasty proposal of sex and fun, girl who was looking for a bit of adventure cant turn the offer down.
It becomes the Channing and Colby show, though I would have appreciated the Edgard and Trevor show. I barely tolerated Channing, Colby I just wanted to say to him “Bitch ya rude, Sit Down”. It’s about group sex, bull riding and insecure Channing.
What made me give it 3 stars is the motel scene. I would give my kidney to have been in Channing’s place. Watching Edgard and Trevor, I would have weeped in joy, and fainted from heat stroke. EPIC!!!!
I don’t know about other readers, but I feel this book would have been a complete dud without its supporting characters, I don’t know how many times a could have dealt with Colby’s power struggle, and his I will share a girl with my friends but I don’t know how I feel about the whole gay thing. Dude your penis has gone in the same hole consecutively after your friend, GET OVER IT!
What happens? Man falls of the bull and the girl cries. Seriously, I just realized if not for Edgard and Trevor this book would have been a 2 stars. Lucky, Lucky. ...more

The thing that peeved me is the whole lovers reuniting storyline. I just am one of those people who enjoys characters meeting for the first time and falling in love.
It does offer up a great romance, really solid characters and cleverest matron to walk the streets of London. All historical fans will like: the love can heal all wounds theme, a budding relationship between a man and his son, and the take down of some shady characters.
I enjoyed Reese's Bride a lot more than I did the first in the series and look forward to the last in this wonderful series of brothers getting their woman....more
What can I say about Under My Skin that the blurb didn’t? I think it covered every element of this short story so I am just gonna share my thoughts on the book. I was a sweet story with a nice message and enjoyed reading it.
Sebastian is considered the” smart guy” by looks alone, he is actually a smart guy but he hates the label. Sebastian has a habit of picking bad men, and has sworn to stay away from the bad boy looking type, because they only bring pain. He has his own travel store, his neighbour store is a tattoo parlour, and he’s hating it but digging the owner. He knows that the motorcycle tattoo wearing type is bad news but he can’t help his attraction.
When a late night get together leads to hot sex with the tattoo storeowner Dylan, Sebastian is cursing himself in all kinds of ways, yet he is drawn to the bigger man and is hoping that Dylan will be his right decision. Until a misunderstanding leads him to jump to conclusion and might put the love affair to end before it even begins.
I really liked this short story it was quick and sweet. A few life lessons to be learnt here (yes there is life lessons in M/M romance/erotica). This one is ‘don’t judge a book by its cover”, ‘just because one orange in the bag is sour doesn’t mean that they all will be’, you know that kinda stuff. Sebastian was quick to judge Dylan because of his rotten relationship in the past and it almost cost him a chance at real happiness. In addition, deals with labels, because body art does not mean you are crude and stupid. Just one of many ways a person can express themselves. Overall, a very nice read.
Side-Lined (campus cravings book 2) was… it just was. I have these odd moments when I find things extremely hilarious that I don’t think was intended to be, and this book was one of them. I was just cracking up, and even through all its absurdity, I freaking loved it. The story moved quite well, and was entertaining, but what can I say I am bias cus nothing better than student and professor hooking up. That alone is worth 4 stars.
So Max had lover who died in a car crash in the car he was driving. Nick was his first love and losing him was a huge blow and moving on is very hard. Max has just been walking like zombie for the past two years, but that seems to change when he thinks of his professor; Alec Demakis. His body awakens and for the first time in years, he actually wants someone.
Well the story takes a turn, with the beginning of Alec and Max’s relationship. It’s all about the Dom/Sub but it’s quite tame. Their feelings develop quite quickly but it sort of works since both have been aware of each other for a long time. My only piss off moment was finding about that Nick that Max loved so much; his best friend of childhood who developed into his lover was a real DOUCHEBAG!
I don’t like to speak ill of the dead (I do anyways) but I wish that he didn’t die but remained alive so he could get the ass kicking he so rightly deserved. Fucking screwing around on Max and then moping. You should have just been honest and told him you wanted to be dominated and two subs together just does not make for a mind blasting relationship. Also Alec, you douche you should have also said something if you cared for him for so long. Left him a note, sent him an email all that shit would have worked.
Overall a short and fun story, about Max and his *Babas*, to know what that means you have to check the story out. The right amount of smut with a little story, perfect for an afternoon read. ...more
What a treat this book was, a first for me by both authors and I really liked their gritty writing style. The cover is ridiculously sexy and that alone was one of the reasons, why this book was calling me to do a little pants losing. It was like reading a classic crime/mob book, filled with drugs and sexy men who know how to carry a gun.
Gabriel Sandalini is an undercover cop, deep in the drug trade. All he needs is a little more Intel and he will blow the roof of the whole operation. A little meeting with an informant at a club, Gabriel is hoping for something good but the person he’s supposed to meet doesn’t show. Well, the night is not a complete bust when he spots a hot looking man, who looks like he knows how to take care of business. A quick hook-up turns out to be more intense than Gabriel expected, and a lot more meaningful. Though he knows this was only a one-night thing, and that’s how he likes it.
That’s until his one nightstand turns out to be a gangster himself, and second in command to one of the biggest drug lords. It seems Gabriel life is about to get interesting. Miguel Ortega carries himself with class and an air of superiority, and it irks Gabriel something fierce. It seems that Miguel is gonna be apart of the take down when Gabriel team moves in. If that doesn’t leave Gabriel feeling sour, seems all those emotions he never wanted is making an appearance, and for the wrong freaking man.
Well there are a few surprises at play here, and some seriously shocking ones I never saw coming. The book is divided into two parts, and part 2 is my fave. Emotional yet intense, sweet but also tragic. I fell in love more with each character in part 2. Not saying that part 1 wasn’t good and molten lava hot. There is something bittersweet about a scarred man and his return from the anger and pain.
I liked Gabriel’s character, just could have done without the sarcastic comments all the time. I just wanted a more serious and caring persona from him. Ortega aka Lorenzo is every woman’s panty wetter. He is delicious, Spanish and intoxicating like the Tequila, he loves to savour. Together they are a perfect balance of classy and street punk.
I could have read this book in winter and melted the snow all around me, a super hot read for the summer. Bring a small fan or portable A/C cus this book is a guaranteed burn. A definite pants losing.
I really enjoyed Promises, it was such a feel good story, and it’s a book for beginners to the M/M genre. It’s ^^PROMISING YOU A VERY GOOD READ!^^
I really enjoyed Promises, it was such a feel good story, and it’s a book for beginners to the M/M genre. It’s romantic and sweet without all the dick in ass, there is that but just not as crude as I just wrote it.
The book begins with Jared telling you how he meets his best friend and lover Matt. It’s definitely a gay for you story, with Matt being completely straight through out his life. Their relationship is super sweet, and you can see the closeness they share as friends. It becomes clear to Matt, that what Jared feels goes far beyond friendship.
The small town they live in knows about Jared, and sorta accepts it. Matt is the new cop in town, and nothing says macho like COP. So he gets hated on because of whom his friend is. To make his life a little easier he hooks up with the towns 7/11, she’s always open for a little action. When a night of Matt doing a little experiment leads to him realizing a few things about himself, he runs away and avoids Jared. Their friendship is put the test, and Matt has hurt Jared in the worst way. A friend of Jared causes Matt to step up to plate and thus begins a relationship between the two friends.
This story is sweet and realistic, there is no quick “I like having sex with you so now I am gay”. There is a progression of feelings, and it’s wildly romantic. Jared and Matt are good together, and I just really enjoyed reading about them.
The book is soft when it comes to the erotic side, and can be enjoyed by those who don’t want the hardcore man on man. Seriously, sometimes these stories are just so good, but just not all the time. I loved Jared; he is sweet and just an easy character to like. Matt is super adorable, but at times in the book really pissed me off but in the end, he comes through.
^^MY CAPTAIN'S GOT A RING, AND ITS NOT ON HIS FINGER!^^
For all that is sweet and holy, this book is sweet and holy. I guess not the best book to be d ^^MY CAPTAIN'S GOT A RING, AND ITS NOT ON HIS FINGER!^^
For all that is sweet and holy, this book is sweet and holy. I guess not the best book to be described as holy but feck it. While I was reading, I kept saying “awwwww” in that angelic sort of way. I think the idea of this book was brilliant, mixing the old with the new, creates gold. I am a fan of J.L and though this book is very different from the With or Without series, the writing is still excellent and downright sinful.
This book is mix of Regency and Science fiction, crazy combo right. However, it bloody works. I am talking chaperones, high tech computers, and spacecrafts. There are home planets, cravats, breeches, and talking smart computers.
The first book in the series begins with Navy Captain Nate; he is the man on his spacecraft. He rules with an iron fist but he is fair. When some weapons get stolen Nate is sent to investigate, on a planet that lives their life in the regency era. The planet is quite different from what Nate is used to, this planet is run by men, and men marry men and all that fun stuff. Too avoid too much detail; let’s just say babies are made to like men and all that. So the planet as I can say is pretty freaking awesome.
So Nate is stay with the royal family, and he was not expecting the things he gets. Nate is forced to pretend be an earl, a life he left more than twenty years previous. So he has to pull out all the stops to avoid drawing attention to himself. Lets say Nate’s mind is involved else where, in the name of Prince Aidan.
The attraction is sizzling and Nate wants to get dirty with Aidan, only problem these boys don’t fool around. You think chaperones and waiting until marriage was only for women. Oh No, the men are bringing it back. So as I always say “No ding ding, without the wedding ring”. I don't always say that, but it just seems to work.
The sex is hot, the characters are superb, and the story is great. I am never disappointed with Miss Langley. I do have a small beef. She drives me crazy. So she introduces you to characters who are gonna be awesome together, and you are excited only to be crushed because there is no book for them. The suspense is killing me, Oh Rexley and Trouble I want to know more.
So we have regency and sci-fi epicness. Also an update, I have experienced cock ring (piercing) number 2, the gods are surely smiling down on me. I am one lucky girl I tell ya, I must have been really good in 2010 or really bad. ...more
With Abandon, is the highly anticipated book four in the With or Without series. I am a fan that has been waiting impatiently for the ^^FINALLY!^^
With Abandon, is the highly anticipated book four in the With or Without series. I am a fan that has been waiting impatiently for the latest instalment in this highly addictive series, and this book does not disappoint. However, my least favourite in the series, it was still a pleasure to read.
For those who are reading this review with no idea what the series is about, well it’s simple. Shifter males finding their mate, their equally male mate. The series is not without its vicissitudes, there is mystery, laughter and some of the hottest sex you will ever read. Just like only J.L Langley does it. I would recommend you read the first three, only because you shouldn’t miss out on them, and definitely, cus book four is a sort of continuation to book three.
Aubrey Reynolds is a dedicated man, dedicated to his company and his family. He has a legacy to uphold, get married, raise some children and run his fathers company. There is only one thing wrong with the whole situation, Aubrey is gay and no one must know. In his world of business, his sexual orientation will look like a weakness, and only the strong survive. Everyone thinks he is hooking up with his best friend who is girl, which makes him happy, because it keeps suspicion away from what gender he really likes to get naked with. Finding his mate is not in the cards, but faith has a way of intervening when you least expect it. Aubrey gets his mate, but he is unsure of if he wants to keep him.
Matt is finally leaving home, away from his eight younger brothers, and the terrible relationship of his parents. Things are about to be different and quieter when Matt leaves to attend college. To say that he would miss his brothers is an understatement, but this time away will let him spread his wings. Getting to know Aubrey over the phone has been some good times, Aubrey will be his roommate during the duration of his college years. When Aubrey girlfriend picks him up from the airport, the scent he is getting from her says she is his mate. Faith can’t be so cruel can it? giving Matt a female mate when he is clearly gay. He is going by the scent and its saying that she is. When he gets to apartment he will be sharing with Aubrey, the scent is a lot more concentrated. When Aubrey walks through the door, he gets his answer. Aubrey is his mate, and his girlfriend just smelt a little like him. Things just got seriously complicated.
The book then becomes a story of Aubrey’s struggle with wanting his mate, and his persistence in fulfilling his family duty. Matt struggles with being second best, but he is hoping that eventually Aubrey will come around. The two together are very sweet, and they got to know each other a lot better while fighting the sexual urges that come forth around a mate.
The book offers up some nice conflicts, a little sex relationship gone badly between a couple of Aubrey’s employees. Also a little menace, in the form of someone stalking Matt and then sending pictures to Aubrey. Matt and Aubrey are not without issues of their own, and it’s a bit of struggle for them to reach their HEA. A nice twist was added, and I never saw it coming and I did even cry a little. Wished it didn’t end quite that bad.
The sex is a lot less in this one, and honestly not as hot as to be expected from Langley, I do believe this one was all about the story. Matt is shining in his fluorescent socks, and pink polo shirts. His dress shoes and shorts are out in big way, you gotta love him. Aubrey is more than he appears and I am glad I got to know him, he is not the asshole I thought he was. Overall, a great addiction to this wonderful series, and I am once again impatiently waiting for book five.
