I always say, I have a love/hate relationship with them, because I can never just stay away. So when I had the opportunity to read about the creepies, mixed in with the man love. I was on it like white on rice. In all honesty as much as I wanted a bit more, I really did enjoy Scavengers: July.
James Hurst is desperate to replenish his funds when they start to run low, and as the saying goes “desperate times calls for desperate measures”. The time is 1887 and after a devastating plague, most human have become flesh-eating zombies. James must now go off into his lands that are over run with the undead and in order to accomplish his mission he must get the help of mercenary Ira Russell.
The men leave the city walls in search of a fortune hidden in one of James old estates, but before the jewels, there are some other things of value he must get his hands on. Seriously, James should have just head for the jewels. Seems zombies’ wanting to feast on his flesh isn’t nearly as frightening as it should be. While fighting of zombies, and retrieving ‘art of utmost importance’, the men find time to share a sexy interlude (seriously man freaking zombies).
I really did enjoy reading this short, but I had few niggles which knocked the .5 in making this a 4PO. I wanted more background on the plague. I know it was meant as a short offering, but I am curious about the how the plague came along, and how life was before it wiped out almost everyone. I wanted a bit more background on Ira, he’s all clothed in mystery (mercenary I know) but I really want to know if he lost anyone in the plague.
Overall, I really liked it and look forward to reading the next instalment. Scavengers has really captured my interest, and I want to read more about the things I love to hate zombies.
Warning: Do not have sex when you might possibly be attacked by zombies. You might lose some very important parts. No actual parts were lost in this book (luckily). (less)

I am having a seriously hard time with this story, I feel like it should have been perfect but I am missing the details that would have made it excellent. Conner is smart; he’s on his way o do great things, and causing a sensation in science. Socially Conner is lacking so his friend brings in the invertors and he dazzles with his smarts. His life is his work, and he has no time for romance or even a one-night stand. When he meets Wes at a party thrown by his social butterfly friend Steve, he is instantly attracted to the young student but turns away from his advances. Well Wes is about to step back into his life when he becomes Connor’s aid at a conference, and they end finally sleeping together and it sweet and sparks are flying.
What Connor doesn’t know is that Wes was a paid body, and he gets paid to sleep with men in order to pay for his tuition *I feel like I read this one before =_= * Let’s just say Wes walks away from Connor because he is getting attached, and is starting to have feelings for the man. When Wes takes on a new client, his john becomes every rent boy’s nightmare. He’s abusive, and a just plain sadistic bastard and Wes gets caught in his sticky trap and can’t get out.
I think this is where the story sort of lost me. I just can’t wrap my mind around Wes’s stupidity naiveté, I felt like he should have been able to get out of that situation, and that his life was worth less than being found out to be a prostitute ‘all I’m saying is that you can come back from a reputation spoil, but you can’t come back from death’. I'm also confused about this website, I’m guessing it’s just for advertisement purposes and not an escort site, which just makes it all types of dangerous, and just one above being a streetwalker. It’s Connor who comes to his rescue and takes him away from the clutches of the abuser. That left me thinking ‘Wes you should have taken that job at McDonalds’ because dude you could have don’t that yourself!
Even with all the things I didn’t like, the story really kept me interested a feat a few books haven’t been able to do these past few days. I really enjoy Cat’s writing; it flows so well. I liked Connor because he is my perfect nerd with the glasses and all. Wes I’m feeling a little lost about you, I just could not believe in you as a character and so I am left feeling *Meh*. Overall, it was a sweet read, with the right amount of entertainment, and a great way to past the time.

This was my first time experiencing Anne Tenino’s writing, and believe me folks it will not be my last. I loved this story, and it was free O_O who said the best things in life aren’t free? Clearly, they had no idea what they were talking about.
Nik ‘Nikhil’ has a chip on his shoulder, and that chip is his hometown. Being adopted from India and living in a predominant white town hasn’t always been easy for Nik, and to make him even more of an oddity he’s gay. So he’s now the gay dark skin Indian guy, and the attention he got wasn’t always good. Now he’s home from college on a school break, and the only reason he comes back is because of his parents. Otherwise, he would stay clear of the place he grew up in.
Then he meets Jurgen Dammerung (sex on legs with a licence to carry) and Nik is instantly attracted, but he doesn’t want to end up the dark notch on another white guy’s belt. He’s feeling Jurgen though and Nik’s inner slut is saying go for it (his inner slut is fierce). He can’t deny the attraction he feels for Jurgen, and when the fires burn and a bike beckons, Nik just has to hold on for the hot ride.
I freaking loved this story! I laughed, lost my pants, and had heart failure all while reading the same freaking page. Jurgen… is like some kind of sexy and Nik I just love that snaky bastard. I can’t believe this story is FREE; I would seriously pay 4.99 for this (seriously).
The story moves with Nik not being confident that the relationship will last, which adds the right amount of angst and provide some conflict. It’s a hellaciously hot story, and I love the contrast of Nik’s darker skin and Jurgen’s lighter tone. The hand job scene is what dreams are made of. I love it!
Did I mention it was Free O_O, its mind blasting. This is the first story I have read by the author, and folks it won’t be my last. I am going at Anne Tenino hard (that sounds dirty), because I like what I read. Grab this one folks. A guaranteed pants losing!
