The characters: Ani, Devlin and even Bananach just keep you wanting more, the plot, the love and I really like Melissa Marr's writing style.
This story is revolved around Ani, half faery and half human, though she is really more faery than human, though. Ani isn't like most of the other Wicked Lovely female leads; she's totally different to Ani and Leslie, and even though I like them both, Ani was way more better as the main character. I didn't like her in the beginning, but she grew on me during the rest of the book. She doesn't like to follow the rules and she would do anything for her family.
Devlin isn't like the other male leads, too. But he's not my favourite; Seth still had my heart. ;) But I still like Devlin. He cares so much about Ani, and I love love loved the ending, with the King of Shadows bit, but I won't go into detail with that cause it'll spoil it. Anyways, it's really interesting abotu how he was made by Bananach and Sorcha. It's just ... Wow.
Bananach would have to be my favourite. I know it sounds weird (I know it does o_O) but I find her really intriguing. She's like the ultimate bad guy-- or bad faery. She goes around killing random people, manipulating everyone, and it's just awesome. I really don't want to see her die in the later books.
I was so happy to find out Seth was back in this one. He's changed so much from since he was a human, though. But he's still cool. And I can't wait to see him and Ash in the next book. I was happy that Niall was back, too. I loved him in Ink Exchange, and so is Irial... though I didn't like him at all in Ink Exchange; he's grew on me in this book, and he was so nice to Ani, especially in the last couple chapters.
Rae is a new character in this book, and even though I really have no idea what she actually is, I found her cool. But the whole love triangle thing was pointless, very pointless. That would have to be the only major flaw in this book. I didn't see it coming at all, and then she was in Ani's body, and I was like "Uh, okay then.. That's weird." So it didn't need to be in there at all.
I like how all the faeries in this book need something. Like Ani needs to feed on emotions and touch, Devlin needs to feed on blood (He's like a faerie-vampire, I guess.) And so on... It's really clever.
So even thought there were some flaws, I love this book and would definitely recommend it. 5/5. Can't wait for the next one - and the last one :/ - in the series!...more

(even though the second book is better) It was confusing in the middle though, because then you just find out that she's known all along that she's a vampire. I found this book really interesting though, and very addicting. Read it in one day! And i didn't even have to buy it! :D I borrowed it from the library. (Usually I can't find the books I want in the library) Anyway, all the characters were great & I definitely recommend it....more

But anyway, this book was heaps good and i didn't want it to end! I can't wait for Hourglass now :D Team Lucas all the way!...more
(May contain mini spoilers) Well... I thought that this series had been going downhill for a while now, but this book may have redeemed it. A little.

I liked that in this book, we didn't see much from Zoey's POV, because personally I don't like her as a main character. Though I was not happy that Stark and her didn't get enough alone time together.. But I guess there'll be more alone time between them in the next book. Hopefully.
I'm glad Heath died, though I admit that I actually cried when he passed over. He was a nuisance and he was always getting in the way of Zoey/Erik Zoey/Stark and he wasn't really needed in the series anyways.
Aphrodite and Darius are such a cute couple and I'm starting to really like Aphrodite though she is a bitch. I wanted to see more of Darius and Aphrodite too, but hopefully we get to see more of them in the next book too.
Stevie Rae and Rephaim would have to be my favourite couple. I didn't really like Rephaim in the last book, but he's grown on me and I hope Stevie Rae and him can be together. I really don't know if I like Stevie Rae anymore though -- the thing with her and Dallas made me feel like she's kinda turning into Zoey a little. And also, she's just not the same person as she was before she "died."
There's one big problem I have with this series, and it's seriously starting to annoy me -- The swearing. I mean, it's just stupid. There's no need to make your characters swear on EVERY PAGE. Sure, a bit of swearing here and there would be alright. They're teenagers so that's normal. But us teenagers really don't swear that much. Personally, I think there's way too much swearing that there should be in a young adult book.
Other than that though, I think the series has improved a little. It's a bit more interesting and I think even the writing and characters have improved. I would probably rate it 3.5, a point taken away for the swearing and half a point because it only got interesting from page 100 or so. Overall, I enjoyed it and am eager to read the next book in the series, Awakened....more
I really liked this book. It really showed up much in love Lucas & Bianca really are, and how they would die for each other. So now, I'm definitelI really liked this book. It really showed up much in love Lucas & Bianca really are, and how they would die for each other. So now, I'm definitely 100% team Lucas. However, this book is frustrating.. and depressing. Very depressing.
This book had its ups and downs though, like the ending for instance; I definitely didn't want that to happen. Ever. And 3 quarters of the way, I started crying for like 5 minutes straight. The way how Lucas is so desperate to save Bianca is just heartbreaking. I cried then, too.
This part may contain spoilers:
I pretty much hate Raquel now; I can't believe she turned Bianca in after what they'd been through. But I saw the thing coming with Dana, she talked about her a lot and they were always together.
I was pretty disappointed that Balthazer wasn't in it as much, and the first time he was, he was getting tortured. Even though I'm team Lucas, I still think Balthazer is pretty cool too.
I seriously hope Charity dies in a hole or something -.- she deserves it after what she's done. She tried to turn Bianca in to a vampires, kidnapped them both, threatened to kill Lucas, and that at the end, she did kill one of them. I really hope something really terrible happens to her in the next book. But also, it annoyed me that Balthazer still cares about her even after what she's done. I know that she's his sister and all, but she's evil. She nearly killed Bianca! Can't he get that through his thick head?
Lucas was pretty awesome the whole way through. It was cute how he would stand by her through everything, and stick up for her. (: He has a bit of a temper though-- but Bianca deserved getting yelled at. It was her fault Eduardo died.
So, anyways, it's a great, heart-breaking book. It'll make you think about it long after you've read and it'll stick in your mind for a long time. It definitely deserves 5 stars. `Can't wait to read Everlife! <3

My friends and I all read it, and we all agree that it was great! I don't like how this book is going to be made into a movie though, pretty much because it's going to be made by Disney. And I especially hate the fact that Miley Cyrus is going to be Laurel. But anyway, I can't wait for the sequel & seeing who Laurel chooses out of Tamani & David! :)...more

It took me about 2 weeks to finish this book, unlike any other books that I had read with this many pages. Usually i can read them in about 4-5 days, maybe 6 tops. This book just dragged on. It seemed like all Stephenie Meyer wanted to do was make the book look cooler by making it VERY LONG. I mean, seriously. Do I recommend it? Yeah. To Twilight fans. But to anyone else that doesn't want to bored out of their mind? Eh. This book is not for you....more
