I was expecting so much more and then it's over and I stare at the screen and ask myself... That's IT? It's over as in Over? Where the hell is the story? All it needed was one day, some mud and a stolen pond to fall in love - or in a bed - I guess. Huh. I know now why this series has never held any appeal to me.
It never fails to amuse me when oral virgins deep throat the biggest cocks they've ever had on their first try. 'Cuz it's just so easy. *snicker*...more

Gelsey "GiGi" Woods is a retiring party girl who's have been just saved by our Quinn hero, Kellan. Gelsey wants to start over with her life, but her past has other plans, and try as she might, she can't keep Kellan out of it.
Kellan is drawn by Gelsey the very first time they met, and even if she isn't a real mermaid, he's hipnotyzed by her, like he's under some kind of siren call.
The Good: I love Irish books and characters. I love their language, their culture, their manner. Kate Hoffmann can always make a good book about Ireland and its people. Kellan is no exception.
The Bad: By the end of the book I felt empty. Like the book couldn't reach to me and make me go inside it and forget about all the rest.
The Cute: The prologue when they are kids always gets to me. That was really cute, and one of my fave parts of the whole book.
The FUgly: I really couldn't like Gelsey. I get it she wated to change and stuff, but her past (and her present actions) shows the behaviour of a teen, not a 27 years old woman. I didn't liked her at all. She made everything looks like Kellan was some big, bad monster for asking questions. There's no future without a past. Out with Gelsey, in with me!
Fave Quote: She tipped her face up to the sun. "Kellan Quinn is a very good man," she shouted. "He's a feckin' gobshite." The voice came from the direction of Danny's smithy and Kellan shruged. "I guess we have other opinions on the subject." ...more

Seems like nowadays bdsm books have some kind of requirement list to meet: Sexy people, sexy clubs, sexy everything. While it was "new" it was great! But every corner now there's a BDSM book just like the last one I read before.
The Submissive Bride was none of that. I loved! Age play isn't my thing, but I'm dirty enough that I like to read about it. *grin*
Carolyn Faulkner did a prime job of creating a world that didn't sound fake to me and it was nothing punish-me-i'm-a-bad-girl in a porn-y like way.
I'm givng it 4 stars mainly because I wish it was longer! And that last line in the book was the icing on a already perfect cake!
Seth is kinda whacked in the head with his many personalities, and Raine cries no end of rivers and rivers. However II loveeeeed Behind Closed Doors!!
Seth is kinda whacked in the head with his many personalities, and Raine cries no end of rivers and rivers. However I was hooked by the plot, by the characters, by the sex (was that hot!!)
I also loved the other characters (Connor, Davvy, Sean, Victor...)
The main couple develops and grows a lot. I really liked the way it happens. Seth isn't flowers and chocolates and Raine isn't to take from him. Both strong, both half crazy. Can't wait for the next in the series.

I wasn't expecting much of Taken. Maybe sex and sex only but there was a real plot, and as always Ms Kitt surprises me. For the romance lovers this may not be the ideal book, since there's not a Love story. I liked how Selena built the characters, their fellings and personalities. I was surprised and a bit sad in the ending, but I know not everything is flowers ad hearts and I like that Kitt doesn't sugarcoat.
It's a freebie that I wouldn't have minded paying for. I love Selena Kitt's work, and this one just proves to me (once again) what a great author she is!
I'm so happy to use my Strap-On-Action shelf! ^^...more

Sometimes Erotica and Love should NOT be mixed AT ALL. I would have liked more if there were NO love in the picture. Sorry to say, but I don't believe in "I love you" statements between people with one week relationships.
I think Johnny was a weak Dom, and the reason why he was a dominant was laughable. To dominate other, you need to first dominate yourself. The other person is trusting you to take care of her, being that through pleasure or pain or both. He didn't convinced me. He was known in his bar for being a very rigid Dom. I did not see that. He was kinda sweet at the beginning, and a bit of an ass in the middle.
Destiny is a dominant woman with hidden submissive desires. She's been honing her domme skills for some years, and then suddenly she's under Master Johnny mastery. It looks like she was a sub her whole life, she just hadn't noticed that little detail herself. I liked her attitude though, when Johnny failed her as her Dom. The fact that she faced him earned my respect.
I'll rate a 2(2.5) Stars , because even with a poor plot, and not great characters, the sex was very hot and had me squirming in my seat ;)...more

In a direction, I really liked that Ulric knew who he was inside and outside the walls of his ship. I think that Stella could have been a greater character, if wasn't by Faris. I felt like she was an emotional crutch for Ulric, and now him. She's the thing to keep them sane and together. Since there's not much background in the characters I couldn't feel the "love" they professed. Say I love you is easy. Feel that on pages is not. I'm kinda disappointed, because I was looking for a greater book. (Bolder & Bigger), which this one was not.
I hope that someday Christine d'Abo make a extended version of this book. Even being sci-fi, it could be GREAT!!!!...more

Ed feFiona is Ed's niece (view spoiler)[not blood related (hide spoiler)], and his wife died recently. She's been having some dirty feelings for him. Ed feels something too, he can't deny it, but can't help the feeling.
This is far from what I first thought it would be. When I read the synopsis a few time ago, I thought it would be VERY taboo, VERY dramatic, VERY dark. It turned out to be none of the previous options.
I was expecting more fight against their feelings. More "It's wrong", "We can't". It was very little of that. I also didn't expected the sex so soon. The end was a little too open. I would have liked more closure.
Bot Ed and Fiona, are multifaceted characters. One minute Fiona is the nice niece helping him get through his wife's death. Next one she's thinking about sex with him. Then she's the jealousy girlfriend, then the sexy woman. And it just goes on. Ed is the man whom looks your average kind of guy. How looks are deceiving. He surprised me. A lot. I thought he would be the sad widowed half of the book, and he played the dirty uncle at some parts. (The spanking scene still makes me tingle. The pears one too... And the other one... I think you got it)
I liked this book. I didn't LOVED, though. I was expecting something deeper. Something darker. And there wasn't none of it. ...more

Ezra and Kadira, both have rough pasts and are trying to overcome that. With only sex in mind, they stay together. But deep feelings make hard for them to breakup when the moment came. With scars branding them to their souls, they fight for themselves and for each other.
That was beyond, and I mean *very* beyond HOT. There's lots of sex. But it's just so rough, so raw, so... Good. Sex have a meaning, and they are not shy at getting what they want. (In any place/shape/way/genre you can think of!)
