The 1st person point is to make the reader feel more connected to the character. However, I rarely find a believeable 1st person character, and this book was no exception.
Josie has just turned 13, but acts and thinks like she's 16 yo or more. At a first read, her mom seems like a beaten wife, and her stepfather the wife beater.
Josie develops a friendship with a popular girl, which I think the author wanted to use as a hook to how Josie is kidnapped. IMO there were other ways for it to happen. It could have happened at the first page and I would have been hooked from there. I wasn't. The story was all over the place. There were various knots the author didn't manage to untangle. Me, as a perso do not wish to see a child kidnapped or raped, but the way it was put into the story, I just didn't buy that it happened.
The motive behind the kidnapping an raping was hinted, but not really discussed, and I would have liked to see the story from the kidnapper POV. Has he done it for money? For fun? Because he is sick? The premise of this book was not bad, tghe story just didn't live it up to it. I wasn't thrilled, or afraid, or reading at the edge of my seat. I was merey reading words that didn't quite were a sentence, and weren't quite a book either.
Want it or not, there is a relationship between them. They are fucking each other. and not doing anyone on the side. What would someone call fucking one person only, (sex)texting, going out with the same person all the time? I call it a freaking relationship.
All the angst IMO was uncalled for. Her ex showing up drunk and trying to force her. his ex going all freaky-carrie and smashing the bakery, the whole i'll-tell-him-i-love-him-on-his-office thing was a dead giveaway that something was going to happen and shit would hit the fan.
Personally, I like my heroines strong. I like when they are grown up and act like it. Hint: Missing by Noelle Adams. I like books that make me think and feel. I like characters that intrigues me. If I can tell what I'm going to read on the next twist, then what's the fun?
Dylan was too hot-headed and took conclusions too fast without stoping to THINK or ASK. Reese's jealousy was a bit over the top. The scene at the bar was just ridiculous.
The 1st person REALLY annoyed me and made the story longer than it needed to be. I'm giving this 1.5 to 2 stars since I've laughed at some moments, even if a few of them were of pure despair....more
Her Billionaires is the story of plus size analyst girl, Laura, firefighter Dylan and ski instructor Mike. Mike and Dylan were in a threesome relationship for about 10 years, and less than 2 years ago, their wife died from lymphoma, leaving them both her money. 1.1 billion dollars, and an anual income of about 50 millions. (Pretty cheap) They haven't learned to navigate the "rich" world, and are still clinging to what they know and pretty much hiding their fortune.
Trying to find a man is hard for Laura. So she decides to join a online dating site to try and find a man. She soons find herself being "courted" by Dylan, and afterwards Mike. Their story is full of misunderstandings and it happens too fast. From 0 to 60 they are amost in love, and then lapses of time happens, a week, a month 3 months... I could live with less FSoG references. (Seriously, DON'T be that author! FSoG was BAD enough already) I can remember at least 5 references, and I'm sure that's not all. There are some issues I just shruged or I wouldn't finish it. She just meet someone online, goes on a date with him, on the same day, and from there to his place to have sex. He could be a maniac for christ sakes! Don't be that stupid, stupid lonely girl who goes out with some random online guy, and then go to his place, and think it's safe because he's hot... Just DON'T. Go watch some Criminal Minds!
The book wasn't all bad, but it wasn't all good either. There were issues. In the end I finished mostly because it was for a challenge and I had no time to read another book.´
On a last note, the cover really bothered me. The series title says: BBW Menage. And the girl on the cover looks pretty skinny to me. Cover is not all, but it can make or break a book. ...more

All it needed was one day, some mud and a stolen pond to fall in love - or in a bed - I guess. Huh. I know now why this series has never held any appeal to me.
It never fails to amuse me when oral virgins deep throat the biggest cocks they've ever had on their first try. 'Cuz it's just so easy. *snicker*...more

Man... was that bad!
Gettin' Lucky was too melodramatic for my tastes. Marcy's the kind of character I hate most in books. She not just didn't fought for her man, she made him go without even telling him why. She took the saying Once burned twice shy above and beyond. Lucky is this whole lot of... Nothing. Why he even liked Marcy is a mistery to me. I felt absolute no connection with any of the them, and the main couple IMO lacked chemistry. The ménage didn't convince me either. I like the idea of twins (Hell yeah!) but in this book made me roll my eyes. (BTW I love when (semi)anal virgins try anal sex for the first time in e ménage. Seriously. Lol)...more

I guess 90% of the reviews have a 5 stars rating. Okay, this book did NOT work for me at all. It wasn't the BDSM (Or the lack of it), or how BDSM was the bad guy in here. What troubled me most was the characters. I wanted to smack both of them upside the head at each page I turned, and tell tem to grow the fuck up. I read this a few time ago, and I forgot to update in GR. It was that bad.

While I like the premise of Tyler doing what he can to save his family ranch, his relationship with Emily is a big ? for me. At first I thought he and Jolene would be the main couple, and then Emily showed up. She didn't do anything for me. I found her boring and flat. There's a lot of main points that I can't help but see as cliches.
I read half of this book and stopped when I didn't notice they were having sex! I think is enough of a book when I don't care to pay attention to when slot A is going into slot B....more
