I want to see more of Christian the Dom, and more of the BDSM lifestyle he was involved with. The author only mentions in passing "the community". It's very important that this essential side of Christian not to be brushed off like it's a less defining aspect of him as a human and sexual being just because he has found that someone special. This rating is for Ana and Christian, and although it appears that the direction is toward a sweet, romantic future, they still make it an addictive reading. Can't wait for the final part!...more
Very entertaining story about two people who must compromise parts of their identity in favor for the feelings they share for each other. We follow AnVery entertaining story about two people who must compromise parts of their identity in favor for the feelings they share for each other. We follow Anastasia and her relationship with Christian, an enigmatic and moody 27 y.o. businessman. The need for dominance and control is an essential element of his life, either professional or personal. He is a dominant looking for a submissive. Reluctant to initiate something more intimate at the beginning, he introduces Ana to his secrets, at least some of them. I never knew that reading a contract Dom/sub can be so much fun. Loved it! The terms, the rules, the limits are clearly punctuated. I don't know if it's a fact that happens in real life, but the importance that the author gives to it should be saluted.
Ana is not a submissive, but for Christian she's determined to try. This is for me the strongest part of the novel. Is it possible, for the person you love, to accept, and even enjoy totally different sexual aspects than the ones you are comfortable with? Usually the pain is something to avoid, but Christian needs to inflict it, and expects it in a relationship. Ana's responses, reactions, or their mutual exchanges are great :).
As a negative mention I have to point that this novel requires further editing. Hopefully the sequels will receive a more thorough attention.
