Tempted to Rebel continues with Zack and Devon taking the next step in their relationship. Although Zach tries to warn Devon about his darker tendencies when it comes to sex and that vanilla sex doesn’t satisfy his need to control it doesn’t scare her off and only peaks her interest. Very smexy times ahead.
Zach totally has Devon under his sexual spell and what a naughty boss making Devon “suffer” and leaving her on edge all day at work with his little surprise he forced on her in the previous instalment.
“Delayed gratification can bring you to heights of pleasure that you never dared imagine Miss Reid.” Mmmmm is that a promise or a threat? Either way Zach delivered in spades.
And right at the end we see a tiny, tiny glimpse that Zach has some even darker demons driving him. ...more

The last thing anyone needs is an old girlfriend returning to upset the applecart. I kind of get why Lake was so upset Will didn’t tell her about Vaughan’s return or the fact she was in one of his classes. In Will’s defence he never ever gave Lake any reason to doubt his feelings for her. She should have at least let him explain before she shut him down. His grand gesture at the Slam was pretty amazing and thankfully everything was right back on track...until the drive home.
Lots of “carving pumpkins” and “butterflying”, misunderstandings and more heartbreak...geez can these 2 families ever catch a break?
Loved the addition of the wise beyond her 11 years neighbor girl Kiersten. If this series continues long enough she should get her own book.
If ever 2 people who have been through hell and back and deserve to be happy, it’s Will and Layken. I did feel kind of cheated out at the end. Mar 2nd was a big day. I wanted the payoff but didn’t get it. Maybe because this book is a YA? ...more

Lake and Will had a connection from the moment they meet as she and her family are moving in across the street from him. It seemed like love was in bloom and maybe moving to Michigan was the start of new beginnings for Lake. Ya, you know it wasn’t going to be that easy. Misunderstandings, tears and much more heartbreak were yet to come.
I loved Luke. His sense of responsibility, his sense of family and his desire to do the right thing. It wasn’t exactly easy road for him. He had to grow up way too soon and take on more responsibility then he ever should have at the age of 21.
The road to Lake and Will’s HEA had one extremely big roadblock to overcome and I couldn’t wait to see how the issue was resolved....more

He enjoys the thriller, “guy-lit” action-packed, suspense genre. I do too but I usually like a like romance added to my suspense. But something about the blurb on The Survivor called to me so I decided to give it a go before passing it off to Pops.
The story was compelling. A man determined to end his life one day ends up being the hero at a bank robbery. Now the men behind the foiled bank robbery are out for revenge and they are determined to make Nate pay the price with his own blood. Which is just fine with Nate considering what he was planning on doing at the bank that day, but now the Ukrainian mobster has threatened Nate’s daughter and Nate’s not going to let anything happen to Cielle.
With his health declining, no one to trust and no where to run, Nate’s got a tough task ahead if he’s going to keep his family alive.
I really enjoyed The Survivor. It kind of reminded me of a Bruce Willis Die Hard movie. Pops is going to love it…as did I. ...more

Well Belle and Jared are certainly a smoking hot couple. I'm amazed they didn't spontaneously combust whenever they were within each other's space. Lots of walking erections and wet panties for sure!
I'm going to assume Belle's best friend Kate and Jared's bro Tyler may be getting their own book. ...more

The book starts off with a hot, anonymous make-out session and doesn’t let up. From the instant Jordan asks Adeline if she wants to f#ck him at a chance meeting in a bar on a Friday afternoon I knew I was in for a sexy, wild ride. Kinda like Adeline was. After all Jordan puts the c#ck in cocky...ohhhh ya.
Jordan doesn’t do “next times”...well at least he didn’t. Adeline was only supposed to be a booty call even if Jordan thought he was too old for that term. He’s 32 to her 22 not a huge age difference, but in terms of their sexual experience it may as well have been 100 years and not 10. Their casual, sexual hook-up has further consequences come Monday morning when real life returns.
Adeline is smart, focused on her finishing her degree and looking forward to her internship at Foster Architectural Designs until she’s shocked to discover who she’ll be forced to see daily and work with. And I don’t mean the witch with a “b” Vera like the designer Wang.
Ahh I love these kind of surprises. Forbidden affairs; oodles of sexual tension; the boss and the subordinate; two people who can’t keep their hands or mouths or thoughts off each other no matter that careers could be ruined and school grades compromised.
I loved Restoring Jordan. And the title of this book suits it to a tee.
I will definitely be reading more books from Elizabeth Finn.

I’ve been on a YA role lately and I’ve read some great, emotional books. I didn’t originally think I would like this genre but my goodness, the books have been so good, and emotional and so full of angst. Pushing the Limits was no different for me. This is another excellent book that got a ton of positive buzz on my Twitter and Goodreads feeds and I knew I had to read it.
Echo and Noah are certainly not your typical teenagers but they certainly are kindred spirits. Both Noah and Echo were once the popular kids at school but tragedy in both their lives have sent them spiralling out of control and directly on a collusion course with each other. There is no love lost between now bad boy, tattooed hottie Noah and the emotionally and physically scarred Echo when they first meet. If ever any two people needed each other to heal then these two are it.
Echo and Noah had to experience so much heartache in their young lives. Once I started reading I had to know what happened to Echo “that night” right along with her as her memories of a horrific night slowly resurfaced.
And Noah’s desire and determination to get custody of his younger brothers...so touching and emotional and I had to know what was going to happen. What path would Noah choose? How mature for him to want so badly to be back together with his brothers and yet make the right decision when the time came. I choked up more than once.
I see there’s a second book coming featuring Noah’s “sister” Beth. Considering her back story I can’t wait to read it. The sample chapter at the end of Pushing the Limits certainly peaked my interest. ...more

This book started out with the sample chapter download from Amazon. When it ended with the hero in a face plant, on the ground and the heroine, her knee firmly planted in the hero’s back with his arm wrenched high between his shoulder blades - I knew I had to buy the book. I mean seriously - how could I not find out what was going to happen?
Willow “Willy” Desmond is a girl who can take care of herself - physically and emotionally. She’s learned to protect her body out of need...she’s a blonde, beautiful “willowy” woman who travels alone around the world. A girl’s gotta learn to protect what she owns. Emotionally she’s shut down her heart so she can’t be hurt. The women in her family have a terrible track record with men and relationships and Willow decided long ago she wasn’t going to be another casualty. She is a serious innocent when it comes to matters of the heart and she wasn’t prepared for the scope of her feelings for one Taylor Stanley Monroe.
Taylor Monroe travels to Spain determined to bring his way-word younger brother Daniel home. As far as Taylor is concerned, Daniel‘s lack of responsibility, his inability to settle down and vagabond ways have to end. What Michael doesn’t expect when he arrives at his brother’s apartment is to find the likes of one Willow Desmond and brother Daniel M.I.A. Given that Willy currently has the upper hand - literally since she’s yanking his arm out of it’s socket and he’s eating carpet dirt...it made for an interesting introduction.
The stuffy New York financial wiz and the nomadic beauty are forced to spend time together especially when Taylor takes ill and has to rely on Willy for his care. The growing attraction and sexual chemistry between this two just jumps off the page. But Willy’s a little on the analytical side when it comes romances and just isn’t about to jump into the sack with Mr. Good Lookin’ even if her body is insisting she just do it!
Good Lookin’ and Wild Willy are a great couple but their lifestyle choices couldn’t be more different and that definitely presents a glaring roadblock on their path to happiness.
Who’s going to blink first and cave once Taylor’s Spanish vacation comes to an end and he returns to New York? Can two total opposites with a mad attraction for one another really make a go at a life together? You are going to have to read One Tough Cookie if you want to find out. ...more

I was willed or coerced into reading a Kristen Ashley book based on all the posts about her books by my peeps on Goodreads. I think I must have seen a hundred posts about how good all her books were and like Pavlov‘s dog I knew I had to read one. Not sure why I chose Mystery Man, but the blurb certainly had something to do with it namely Commando vs Cosmo Girl.
First off it’s written in first person - WHY!!!! I hate first person narrative. Despite this first big strike (and I admit it’s my own personal pet peeve) I still decided to read it.
Then I had to suspend my belief that Gwen would carry on a strictly sexual relationship for 1½ years with a man, she met and took home after about 5 spoken words and her imbibing a few cosmos and she continued to have sex with him, whenever he felt like showing up and she didn’t even know his name? WTF? Wow he must be good in the sack. I think I have to keep reading.
So Gwen gets herself into a boatload of trouble by going to the local biker hangout (innocently enough or her part) to try and pay off her seriously messed up sister Ginger’s debt...except Ginger owes more than 2 million dollars - that’s a little out of Gwen’s price range, but it does bring Gwen a whole host of trouble and gets her noticed by some other seriously sexy men. Tack, the leader of the biker dudes and Mitch, a hot cop. And then low and behold who surfaces for the first time in the light of day? Why it’s none other than Gwen’s mystery man Cabe “Hawk” Delgado.
These men literally ooooooze testosterone, in fact they all come off as the walking male hormone and totally Alpha to the core. I couldn’t help but think that these men were one step above Neanderthal caveman based on the speech patterns Kristen Ashley writes for them...especially Hawk. He is one badass commando and a man of few words. And those he does speak or more like command...he expects to be followed no questions asked.
Hawk was certainly a man of mystery even after I finished reading this book, I still had no idea what Hawk’s job really was or even the name of his business. It seemed money was no object, he had many commandos working for him and he for sure had Gwen under a microscope and monitored at all times. He was certainly a complex and interesting character and when we did get to see a glimpse inside his past life it was an eye-opener. Oh ya...he was hot and good in the sack...just in case you were wondering.
I did like that Hawk treated his body like a temple and ate steamed vegetable and cottage cheese, while Gwen ate all the junk food, take-away and of course the food of choice raw cookie dough.
Mystery Man is action packed and most of the story Gwen is in serious danger as her sister Ginger’s actions have a lot of really bad people after her. Fire bombing her parents house, drive by shootings and a kidnapping really kept the story moving. It was definitely a very interesting and entertaining read and I will for sure be trying another book by this author (even if it is in first person O_o). ...more
