Of course that could be because I really liked Thomas from the previous books and this book was a pretty Thomas centric plotline. And I like Murphy and Butcher really seemed to bring her out in this one. All in all the plot was far more entertaining to me. I could follow it easier without having to learn about the villain or be taken to some weird land where you suddenly find something out about the place or a person that allows Dresden to get out. Not that all the books are like that but the past few seem to have been. This one seemed more straight forward, even though it stuck with the two evils plot-line that the rest of the books have followed.
I liked how the end gave us more characters for the rest of the books as well (okay not more characters as the only new one is the puppy but it better developed current secondary characters and fun ones at that). And this new sexual tension between Dresden and Murphy. It was always kind of there but once Susan came along it was definitely in the background and well tampered down only to pop up every now and then. I'm really looking forward to the next book although I'm sure its going to be all about Dresden freaking out dealing with living with Thomas and the puppy. He strikes me as a man that needs space. Thomas is bound to drive him nuts. Should be interesting....more

These high school girl falls in love with evil character who's really not bad and is not like the rest of his kind are starting to get old. Now don't get me wrong I liked the fact that she just didn't fall straight in love with the guy. She tried to resist at first (which is a lot more than Bella Swan did). But these whole second book break ups really are obnoxious. I spend the entire book just waiting for them to get back together with the guy which is what I really want to read about (which is always the third book in a series). Honestly I should just stop reading after the first 20 pages.
And WTF kind of ending was that? That was well and true a cliff hanger. Usually book will put the characters in a unsettling but completed situation at the end where some bad situation looms in the future. She just left them quite literally in the hands of bad people. Could have done without that last little bit because now I have to read the next book to see how it ends. Seems like just a good way to get people to buy the next book. I don't like when authors do that. Should have just started off the next book that way. Or at least ended with the first sentence the bad guys said in the last chapter. That would have been fine. Then we wouldn't have known who it was. Could have been a friend. UGH. I don't know if I'll read the next one. Not sure if the plot will do it for me. :\...more
