LOVED it!! Judd and Brenna were an awesome, awesome couple!! They both had so much to overcome...his Silence and Protocol 1, and her demons of remembeLOVED it!! Judd and Brenna were an awesome, awesome couple!! They both had so much to overcome...his Silence and Protocol 1, and her demons of remembering what was done to her by Enrique. Both are so heartbreaking in their own right, but they knew that they belonged with each other, no matter the cost, no matter what anyone else said or thought, and they fought to get over those obstacles.
Judd's character is so strong, so menacing, he just comes right off the page. He and Brenna were inexorably linked together ever since he helped save her from Enrique, and even though there wasn't anything to explain that link (at least at first(view spoiler)[I think I just about cried when they discovered their bond...yay!!!! They deserve it! (hide spoiler)]), they were constantly drawn to each other even thought Judd tried to remain cold as ice. They formed a friendship of sorts, and as she looked to him for help, answers, and safety when things in her mind just didn't seem right, she truly chiseled away that icy exterior of his. He, while still trying to maintain his icy nature because it is what is needed to maintain his sanity and to keep him from killing on a whim, was always there for her, to listen, to help, and to provide support.
It was beautiful watching their relationship grow from a friendship of sorts, one of support, to one of love and passion. And OMG, was there passion!!! When Judd did what he did to help Andrew, flamed out, then woke up still drained, but without dissonance...O.M.G.!!! That Ice Man has some SKIILLZ!!!!!! Oh, I loved how he didn't hold back...he explored, tempted, treated, and did so right by Brenna. i would LOVE for Singh to provide us w/ a novella of Judd's "research". ~~SWOON~~
This had to be my favorite line from that moment: "Can I bite you here, too?"
**THUD, THUD, THUD**
Even with Judd being so "cold," so Psy, he so often said some of the most beautiful things to Brenna. They were such a touching couple, even when they weren't able to physically do so. And when they were finally able to, look out! And YAY! for the epilogue!! Not only did we get another AMAZING sex scene, but another wonderful thing came from it, too!
In addition to the main romance, I loved Singh's interplay of both the bad guy (who I did NOT guess) as well as the Ghost (who I cannot wait to discover) into the plot. She kept it very interesting, and kept me guessing, that's for sure.
As always, Singh does a fabulous job of bringing so many other characters into the books. It's such a pleasure to continue revisiting past main characters (i.e., Sascha & Lucas; I also liked Vaughn's little special appearance and him watching over Brenna after she left SnowDancer territory to go get a little pampered), and exploring further the ones from the periphery (i.e., HAWKE **THUD**). She is setting up his book very well, and I am very, very anxious to get to it. (view spoiler)[It broke my heart, though, to hear about him losing his mate when he was so young; since changelings only have one true mate, I wonder how this will play out for him. (hide spoiler)]
All in all...a fabulous read, another amazing story in the series, and enough to keep me anxious to read more. ["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>...more
