However, when I was given the opportunity to get a copy of The Time Garden I couldn't resist any longer. And boy am I glad I gave in!
This book is so gorgeous I'm almost afraid to touch it. The crisp whiteness, and shiny foil of the cover would make a stylish wall print on its own, never mind the super intricate line work illustrations inside. Seriously, some of Song's work makes my jaw drop in awe.
I especially adore how Song intertwined a story about a curious little girl climbing into a cuckoo clock to discover a magical land inside with the actual pages to color.
Colored pencils, or fine tip markers seem to be the optimal fit for the intricacy on some of the pages; though I will have to test the paper to be certain if markers or felt pens would be a doable option without bleeding through to the flip side's illustration.
All in all, I love this coloring book in every way!

Besh's book is packed with photos so fabulous you can almost smell the food wafting off the pages, and fun quips sprinkled throughout the recipes. One of the biggest draws for Besh Big Easy is the fact that Besh incorporates quite a few simple substitutions for those of us who don't live in the South and have ready access to some of the more 'unique' ingredients. Further, I loved that the recipes, while sometimes complicated in appearance, are really easy to follow.
So far, I've only made the red beans and rice; but that was a huge success on my night to cook the family meal. I definitely look forward to trying out some more of Besh's recipes, with a similar success rate.

I adored all of the bookish bits in this novel; especially, when I'd already read the majority of the books Ben recommends to Hannah. It was like reading the inner monologue I had every time I spotted a cute, glasses wearing guy in my bookstore.
Weaver does a fantastic job of maintaining a balance of fluff and nonsense, and emotional turmoil without going overboard and turning the story into a campy feeling romance. I particularly enjoyed watching the growth of Ben and Hannah's characters as the novel progressed. It showed a real development of their characterization, and was nice to be able to come to the end with a pair I had really grown to love.
My one major complaint was the way Weaver presented Ben's family. I understand they were meant to be the controlling, everything must be done my way or it's the highway for you, kind of people; but, I found them to be ridiculously two dimensional. Especially at the end of the book.
Otherwise, This Book Will Change Your Life is a fun romance, with definite beach reads qualifications, that made me add Weaver to my ever growing list of authors to watch for.
