Who better than the army sergeant Jason that is in charge of the expedition that Mac is a part of; with a rule that no fraternization is allowed. We always want what we can’t have.
What I liked about this is the fact that even though she sees Jason in the first chapter and lusts after him (hard core,) she doesn’t get him right off the bat. Timing was not in Mac’s favor for a good portion of the book because there was never a moment when they could really be alone together. It made me want for that moment even more because Ellink’s held off on giving it to me. When the moment came, I had all this anticipation built up that it was like a little party in my head.
However, I will say that Mac and Jason did not have the connection that I wanted between them. While they were a cute couple, they weren’t the best couple. If I could change this book, I would make it longer so that I could really get to know Mac and Jason and see the chemistry develop between them besides just their lust for each other.~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~...more

Eliza has seen the dark side of life for many years. Her salvation came in the shape of her absentee father, and the past couple years have proved a start for healing. Everything about her life is planned and constructed to her liking, and in effort for maximum accomplishment. When her Father finally convinces her to accompany him on his summer tour she enters a world filled with all the activities that she formerly believed did not fit into her now perfect world. What she finds is the her life long crush may be the devil that will undo everything that she has planned. I was a little frustrated with this story, because it does seem to have the detail and development that would allow me to feel the flow of the story. Grendel is a very conflicting character with his demands for her attention, but all the while he tells her what a unworthy player he really is. At the same time this was a very spicy and hot read, but I did not feel the overwhelming attraction that I think the story was trying to portray. Who He Is can guarantee a story that will peak your interest of the "what's next" vibe, but overall I felt as though the story was a bit mediocre for me. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer Jax~ ...more

I was watching this mountain build knowing that the avalanche was not going to be pretty. There relationship was a little awkward to grasp with the incredibly short length to this story. There was not much time to build the emotional feel that would promise excellent ratings. So, I was left with an entertaining story that holds much potential, but I felt needed a little more work. I would have loved to have seen a littl more attention to detail and the overall building to the storyline. The rush takes away from the stregnth that this story could have had. As with the very last story I just reviewed this was a story that could have used a little work, but I am intrigued highly due to the monumental cliff hanger that it just left me with. My only hope is that this will be a building series, and each and every installment with be a progression of talent and story. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer Jax~...more

I had noticed a few weeks back, and it seems in that time it has become quite the name. So, here I am having finished and I have mixed feelings on this story. Was it a great story? YES!!! Did I like the Characters? YES!!!! Do I want more? HELL YES!!! With all of this said I loved almost every single character, and I am so anxious about this story. I say almost every character, because I had a really hard time with Isabelle. I started off really liking her character, but as the story continues I found myself struggling with her more and more. Firstly, I must say that I felt her character was not always realistic. Having been in such a traumatic life for so long I was a sympathizer with her position. I wanted to she her character grow and overcome as time passed, but I was became frustrated with her every time she would start to act like a survivor only to crumble into bits again. She was a whiner about being handled with kids gloves, but when the road became rocky and took it's own course she would fall apart. That being said I know that it sounds as though I am hating on this story, but truly that is not my intention. While I hoped that this character would have been shaped a little stronger. I found every single other character mesmerizing. I can't not wait to see what this story has in store for the others. The future for this series looks so incredible bright in the light of the future relationships formed in this story, and I can't wait to read all about them. Even with the struggles of this first novel I can tell that this will be a series worth the time and effort. ~JO Everything that Jackie said, I say “Ditto!” I loved the story and the characters and I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest of the book. All the Corps Security boys sound SO sexy and I am dying to know their stories and who their possible love interests are. From what I can tell, Greg’s story is next and I want it now!
Axel was a super alpha hot which started his character in the right path (this girl loves her some alpha men) but it was hard for me to really love him because the character Isabelle scratched the chalkboard in the back of my head. I wanted her to be his minus her moments of telling everyone that she was strong and could handle everything but then would crumble over the weight of it all. If you have a super hot alpha male then you need a super hot (somewhat) alpha woman to be his companion. That is honestly the only problem I had with this book. It has a long, lost love that is reunited, a good amount of drama, great side characters, and some steamy scenes.~BookWhisperer Reviewers JO & MC~...more

I loved the plot of an underground MMA club needing a medic on hand after their fights and Makayla being just the girl to take the position, however, she has this huge aversion to violence and while I understand that she needs the money, she doesn’t seem to really think through what she is seeing. Every time there is a fight, she gets physically sick. If I were her, I would find another part time job but I guess if she did we wouldn’t get to meet Torment (Max.)
I did really like Max’s character, even though he led a crazy double life. He brought the most maturity in the situations that Makayla got herself into. And for some reason, anything bad that could happen to Makayla, did happen to Makayla. It would have been less stress for Max if he just locked her in his house to keep her safe.
So basically, I liked Max. I liked that he was an MMA fighter (sexy), that he was willing to fall in love with Makayla even though she was not the same him, that he was protective, and all around a good guy. While I didn’t like Makayla and some of the unbelievable situations that happened, I still liked the book.~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~...more

To me, it put a negative light on Christianity and scripture and I felt like it would lower my rating including that part of the story so I am just going to ignore it.
What I am not going to ignore are the absolute hotness of these boys that make up the band. Holy moley! These boys are straight up dirty, sexy, and fun and I found myself shocked (many times) at what they were all willing to do or have done in the past. Granted, I have only read number four in this series so I don’t know the entire background to the other characters but I couldn’t help but love them in Wicked Beat.
Rebekah and Eric’s playfulness at the beginning was really cute but when the action starts (and let me tell you, it starts off kinda sweet for about two seconds) their moments are insanely hot. There was not a scene where I thought, “Oh, that moment between them was blah.” Never happened! It was always sizzling!
I enjoyed that at first, Rebekah sought after Trey but had a little thing on the side with Eric until it became a full, passionate relationship. It made me feel like Rebekah had her feet placed firmly on the ground by realizing that Eric had more substance for her than Trey did.
Wicked Beat was a sexy, hot book and I am sure the rest of the series is just about the same. In fact, I want to start from the beginning and continue the series as they come out. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer MC~...more
