What with the 'Twilight'ish cover, I thought it would be one of those sterotypical new adult books, but I finished reading DARKSIDE SUN pretty frecking happy that I had. I actually don't read alot of new adult books, I'm more of a historical romance kinda gal but I'm glad I had the opportunity to read this. Darkside Sun deal with alot of really complex but awesome elements: the undead, ancient civilizations, parallel worlds and secret societies. It has a unique and interesting premise where wraiths come from parallel universes into our world, taking over human bodies and recking havoc. A secret scoiety is tasked with stopping them. Our Heroine,Addison is thrown right into the middle of the chaos, having to train to stop the wraiths with a group of very dysfunctional people. Addison has being seeing paranormal events since she was a little girl and when one of her episodes leads to her being late to Professor Asher Green's class, things take a turn. Asher turns out being part of the Mortal Machine--a group of immortals that protect the world from wraiths that want to take over. Soon, Addison is sucked into Asher's world, whether she wants to become part of it or not. But these wraiths want Addison and are willing to do what ever it takes to have her. At first, Addison first comes off as a bit dorky, shy and unconfident. I really enjoyed watching her grow as a character. She has always had to deal with messed up events like random dark holes that materialize out of nowhere that bring about a biting cold and scary creatures. Her life has never been normal and she always thought she wasn’t the most stable person. Which I could relate to....Not the random monsters clawing their way into our world but feeling unstable and trying to make myself as unnoticeable as possible. So, I really felt for her and bonded with her over that. When she gets thrown into this new world she acts like how a normal person would act. She ultimately accepts everything easily because she’s been dealing with the paranormal since she was a little girl. She definitely developed so much throughout the book. By the end, she wasn’t that unconfined girl anymore; she was a strong, confident woman, who was prepared to fight, despite her misgivings about the devastatingly handsome Asher and the Mortal Machine, she gives up everything to protect her father...and the world. Now, Our Hero: Asher Green; All I can say is...What a complete and utter ass (BUT SUPER SEXY). I wanted to hit him....like alot. Throughout most of the book, He acts like a jerk and Reasonably, Addison's feelings are conflicted because of this. He is cocky, arrogant and sometimes, down right mean but Asher brings tortured and brooding to a whole new level, which can never(at least for me) be a bad thing. However, Asher has demons of his own to fight, which we find out when we learn about his past. His past made me realize he wasn’t a bad guy, he just has some issues. And like Addison he did develop a bit in the story, though not as much as her. And what he did at the end...Oh, My, God....MY BABY!!! I can not wait to see where his character goes and how he develops through out the series. The romance in this novel was subdued, but you could always feel the tension. Asher was, well, Asher, and there were some rules that prohibited things like, well, touching. And those made things difficult. Romance wasn't exactly a main driver in this novel but I still loved every moment of Darkside Sun. There was never a dull moment and I look forward to reading the upcoming sequals. Adams crafted an intricate sequence of events that started on the first page of the novel and keeps hold of you until the last page. Darkside Sun was a refreshing paranormal novel -as paranormal romances can become repetitive but fortunately this was not-Complete with a whole new type of paranormal society, a budding romance, and a plot to-die-for, it's definitely a must read for Paranormal/New adult lovers. ...more

Emmaline Troy is an Innocent Half Vampire, Half Valkyrie who is suddenly made Lachlain MacRieve, a Lykae's fated Mate.
Lachlain MacRieve is the king of all Lykae and he has been tortured for decades by vampires, his clan’s greatest enemy. When he catches the scent of his destined mate, he does everything in his power to be freed from his imprisonment-he breaks the chains that have kept him imprisoned for 150 years and goes after her. However, He does not go away unscathed-He escapes with 150 years of Mental anguish and loses a limb-which with time, will be regenerated. When he finds her,he is disgusted and furious to find out that-the woman, his fated mate, that he had been waiting for, for almost a thousand years is a vampire. Even though Lachlain despises what she is-His instinct-which knows that this is the only woman who would ever make him whole and the only woman who could ever bear his children-has brought them together and that she is his. He has searched for her for years, decades and centuries and now that he has her he plans to keep her.
Emmaline Troy is a timid and shy half vampire that has been sheltered her entire life, She yearns for a place to belong.Though she has lived her very short-in Loren terms-life with a Valkyrie coven-who are her aunts, She doesn't feel she belongs with them, no matter how much she loves them. Emma is half Valkyrie, half vampire-She is very timid, naive and innocent. He takes her by surprise, kidnaps her, after realizing she is his mate-much to his apparent disappointment. He does NOT tell her, she is his mate and convinces her to travel to Scotland with him, where all the real romancing happens. Lachlain is unaware that she is an innocent-a virgin-who hadn't even had her first kiss until she met him.
My Casting choice for Emma.
Emmmaline Troy~Emilie De Ravin
I loved the development of the characters-How Emmaline grows from a timid and shy lass to a Headstrong and bad ass (yet still kinda shy)woman. She becomes self confident, grows stronger and more resilient and more accepting to her vampire-side.It was great to watch her go from Emma The Timid to Emma The King Killer.
Kresley Cole is a fantastic writer. I was drawn into the story from the first sentence, and could barely but it down-reluctant to even eat my food, because I was so enclosed in the world of Lachlain and Emmaline.
“He stalked up behind her to clench her hips, and she stilled. In a breathy voice, she asked, "You're going to make love to me again, aren't you?" In answer,he lifted her onto the counter, tore off her shift, then pressed her naked body back into the blooms.”
Lachlain and Emmaline's relationship begins off rocky, yet it becomes such a strongly bound and loving relationship. I loved the steamy and intense chemistry between Lachlain and Emma. Kresley Cole can't go wrong with a sexy, hot highlander Lykae. I adore how WILD Lachlain is. He doesn't act modern because he isn't--And he acts possessive and wild because he's not human(he is a freaking Lykae-Which I don't think some reviews understand. 5 STARS!! They only made it to an empty hall before he pressed her against the wall, cupped her neck, and demanded once again, “You’ll stay with me?” “Always.”

What I Think Dasiy Looks Like: ELIZABETH TAYLOR! Mainly because of the whole violet eyes thing.
I can't get over this book-I adore it! This is my FirstWhat I Think Dasiy Looks Like: ELIZABETH TAYLOR! Mainly because of the whole violet eyes thing.
I can't get over this book-I adore it! This is my First Susan Elizabeth Phillips read and most diffenitly not my last. Daisy,The heroine, is being forced to marry Alex Markov, the hero and a russian who owes a debt to her father, because of her overspending because of the guilt/greif she feels over her party going mothers recent death. Her Father, Max has had enough. He thinks its time for Daisy to grow up. Her Father dosen't really know his daughter, believing her to be Idiotic, unresponsible and just like her mother. However Daisy really is smart ,big-hearted,deathly afraid of animal and a 26 year old virgin saving her self for marriage.
Daisy is like a suckerpunch for Alex, he expected her to be the spoilt little rich girl her father had painted her out to be. So, he plans to make her life a living hell so she will walk out of their marriage. Daisy surprises him when she refuses to give up taking all he throws at her. Alex is all pride. It means everything to him and he would rather die the demean him self. He believes he can't love due to his harsh childhood. At two years of age, he lost his parents. Then had to live with his abusive Uncle who whipped him-for he had pedophlic feelings toward his nephew and this was his sick and sadistic way of releaseing it or rather avoiding it.
Main Point: He sure as hell didn't expect to fall in love with Daisy. From the start he stated she was not his type. Ha-ha Alex Ha-ha. I really liked how they wern't instently attracted to one another, how the attraction grew like an itch you can't scrach.
This book really surpised and impressed me with the setting. It was exotic and unexpected- From the beginng I thought: "Oh! Alex is totally a business man, Duhh--Its is expected" BUT HE WASN'T! Susan Elizabeth Phillips gave hints, however, So when I finally went "OH! I KNOW WHAT HE IS" before it was reveveled to the reader I had my own mini party in my art class-My friend had the fright of her life when as I was reading the book in utter silence, When I suddenly Burst out with "OH! I KNOW WHAT HIS JOB IS". Take into noe she had no clue what the hell I was reading. She probably has permament heart failure due to my random burst of information. I sure as hell didn't expect it. I thought it added a nice twist to the reading experience so I don't really want to spoil it and tell you so, no-Go read ther book.
The development of the character's is probably my favourite thing besides from the setting. You really see Daisy grow into a mature woman, and she really learns alot and conquers all her fears and insecurities. She grew up her whole life, looking at her gourgous mother and comparing her self, and believing she wasn't as beauitful.
(view spoiler)[Expecially after her mother STOLE HER GOD DAMNED FIANCE*not Alex*AND SCREAWED HIM TO OBLIVION and the drop him like a hat because she 'only wanted to do what was best for dasiy'. Which we all know is aloud of crap. She just wanted to keep her daughter to her self and not let her have a life. (hide spoiler)]
Alex really lets go of his pride. He is still as stubborn as a mule but he opens him self up to love and becomes gentle and tender towards Dasiy--Because of her he is basically the happiest he has ever been. However, in later scenes, which I REFUSE to spoil for you, he kind of Acts like an asshole due to events that happen. He does that earlier on in the book to where I want to kill him. Well, anyway, he really lays him self on the line for her, which makes an extremly beautiful scene. I was like this after reading this-Yes I know I'm really emotional :P
Of course, there are the brilliant sub-plots, that readers can't not adore. Not going to spoil those either.
NOW GO READ THIS AWESOME BOOK! 5 STARS!!

We all wanted to know if Karl and Judy would evr fall in love and kiss. As a 10-11 year old girl in class room full of girls, romance does seem to over shadow the war, yet its always there above the horizon and we were all aware and waiting for the bombs. I remember the teacher giving this to me, and the classmates started reading it to one another one by one. We all had a Page each or paragraph if it suited the teacher. From the beginning of the book i was caught! The Homework was to go home and read the next chapter. I read all the way to the middle of the book, and forced myself to stop. I adored it. Even in class when I would speed ahead of everyone else being a chapter or so ahead of them, I reached the ending before they did. EVERYONE was gobbed smacked. We all just sat there in silence until finally the teacher asked us what we thought. Everyone thought it was brilliant. Just recently i was talking to my friend who was in the other class and had to read it as well, and how unfair it was that they got to read more books then we did. She mentioned Far away home. We went off to talk about how good it was and how much we loved the characters. We went as far as to ask some of the other girls who read the book with us what did they thinik, surprisingly they all remembered it, all sung its praises saying how fantastic it was and how they wished it was longer.
soooooo, Yup....Go read this like now. No matter what age!! The characters were so indepth and it was just amazing. It blew my 10 year old mind. Since i loved the history behind WW2, i really knew what was happening, but not the whole story. Not about what happened at the camps or how jews were treated. It left a lasting impacted on all the girls and I....more
In my opinion, 'It Happened One Autumn' was far better then the first book in the Wallflower series 'Secrets of a Summer night'. To be honest,5 STARS!!
In my opinion, 'It Happened One Autumn' was far better then the first book in the Wallflower series 'Secrets of a Summer night'. To be honest, Lillian didn't appeal to me in the first novel. But by god, she was amazing in this one. She made me laugh and I respected her. She wasn't afraid to go out and do what she wanted-even if it wasn't what 'the ton' would approve of. By the way, Lillian drunk is just awesome! Example of drunkness:
“He slitted his eyes open and squeezed them shut again as he saw her finger intruding deeper into the bottle. "Grows..."he forced himself to continue, "until the fruit is ripe."
"They do? That is the cleverest...a pear in its own little...oh no."
"What?" Marcus asked through clenched teeth.
"My finger's stuck."
Dumbfounded, he looked down at the sight of Lillian tugging on her imprisoned finger.
"I can't get it out," she said.
"Just pull at it."
"It hurts. It's throbbing."
"I can't! It's truly stuck. I need something to make it slippery. Do you have some sort of lubricant nearby?"
"Much as it may surprise you, we've never needed lubricant in the library before now.”
Marcus...Marcus...Marcus...In my bed NOW! He came off as stiff and proper. Disapproving of The wallflowers...Mainly Lillian, to be honest. He reveals to the readers that he had always been attracted to Lillian, but felt that nothing would have come of it...LITTLE DID HE KNOW!! Marcus aka Lord Westcliff proved himself to me in this novel. Let's just say, I'd do him. Yes, Erin, Nice a classy as usual... ANYWAY, This book made me Laugh so many times...I kinda skipped art class to read it... WEll, I WAS in Art class just not doing any work, and recieving death glares from the teacher. (ahhh, good times) Lisa Kleypas keeps making me like her even more, and making me want to rush to a shop and buy her books. It's not fair I tell you!!
The Romance was the aces! Lillian and Marcus try so hard not to be together, but at the same time all they want to do is be together. Their romance and chemistry is a sucker punch. They had no clue what was up ahead.
Okay! Main things for you to take away from this review. 1) Lillian is the bees knees! 2) Marcus is the sex... 3) The sex outta marriage thing is seriously hot in historicals :P 4) Romance= Epic... Basically they belong together! 5)Humor= It has been graced with being put into my 'Shits n' giggles' Shelf...consider it funny.

I don't think Warren Anderson, the hero, would have ever found someone if they hadn't pushed him. Their story is sweet and romantic, with Warren trying to resist Amy. Amy has been in love with Warren since she first saw him. She makes no bones about it and tells him--''I want you, Warren Anderson'' She is bubbly, spirted and funny as well as beautiful. Warren is still his grumpy old self, the same since we saw him in 'Gentle Rogue' which was James Malory's and Georgiana Anderson's tale. We see James and 'George' again, and George is giving birth to their first child. Amy literally fights Warren to be WITH Warren. She uses very amusing tactics, which i mostly laugh out load at. Johanna Lindsey wrote a wonderful story of a resisting man, who has been hurt in the lowest way possible and the woman who could pick him back up again.

I can't say it was better then The Hunger Games but it had its own charm. THANKFULLY! There was more romance...like honest romance-Not just playing for the cameras. Peeta, in the beginning of the book is still hurt by Katniss yet puts it aside keeping up a brave face...Meanwhile, Gale kisses Katniss, and she has no clue what to make of it. Stuff really goes down! Katniss has unintentionally started a revolution. President Snow is not happy, he tells Katniss to marry Peeta and that some of the districts didn't believe her performance of Peeta and Katniss' 'Romance'. No one doubts Peeta affections(duhhh). Every 25 years, The Capital throws another 'hunger games' or rather a anniversery type thing called the 'Quarter Quell Games'. President Snow throws the past victors of The Hunger Games into the arena. Peeta Demands to go, because he wants to protect Katniss. Katniss has plans of her own, however and Plans to keep him alive. During these games we meet a bunch of new characters such as, Finnick (WHO I LOVE), Beetee and Wiress(Volts and Nuts),Johanna.
Katniss seems to be getting a hold on her feelings for Gale and Peeta. Basing my knowlodge on this book: I Have to say...I think she does prefur Peeta--NO, its not just because I adore Peeta--Its my Honest feelings and baseing Katniss' feelings for Gale in the same context as mine towards a guy best friend of mine.
In The Novel, Gale kisses Katniss, She doesn't know what to make if it, even questioning what would have happened if Peeta wasn'tinvolved in the situation. Katniss says at one point, that If Gale had left for the Hunger Games, instead of her, and she had to watch him with someone else, she wouldn't like it. She goes as far to say that :“Gale is mine. I am his. Anything else is unthinkable.” But goes on to think Of Peeta. She has to remind herself NOT to think of him-She wishes for him to hold her, so she can fall asleep without the worries of Nightmares, that when ever Peeta holds her in her sleep, she feels safe and nightmares don't come. But also, this quote of 'he is mine etc.'' can be put in to the context of a jealous Best friend. I, for example do get jealous if my best friend is spending time with other people and slowly abondons me even the thought is provoking. Friendship can be a possessive road to travel. Where I could be all like ''HE IS MINEEEE!! GRRRRRRR!!! MY BEST FRIEND! IMMA EAT YOU" but that dosen't mean i'm in love with my male best friend. Another thing that amazes me about Peeta is that he doesn't push her for answers on her affections, but lets her figure out things on her own. While Gale, does push a bit... Peeta's and Katniss' relationship really progresses in this book. For me, i felt that Katniss felt more for Peeta than Gale because of how she acts in situations that are alike-when for instance, Gale is hurt/beaten and of course there is a chance he could die from infections etc if he does not have the required medicine. She kisses him this time reassuring him-but she dosent freak out or start crying, she is just worried and feels guilty. But when Peeta is hurt-she freaks. She sobs so hard she can't breath and dosen't want anyone to go near him, Finnick has to push her away(hard), and bring him back to life. “I realize only one person will be damaged beyond repair if Peeta dies. Me.” --Katniss.
Gale and Peeta understand Katniss in their own ways. Gale knows more of the girl who had to fight and provide for her family. Gale dosen't quite know where his feelings began, or if they had always been there. Peeta knows Katniss in the way of: Boy meets girl. Romance has always been at the forfront of their relationship-most of the time Peeta's. Yet, he sees her as a woman, notices her quirks, seeks to know more about. I feel as if Gale thinks he already knows her so he needn't keep looking for more aspects. From the first book, Peeta said ''She dosen't know the effect she can have.'' This is coming from a guy who barely knew her,yet knew her. Peeta and Katniss, built each other up and strived for the eachothers surivial. Gale and Katniss have always worked together but Their surivial is based on their families. Katniss becomes dependent on Peeta, needing him for reassurence and safty from nightmares. Peeta says the most romantic things...Gushhhh...''If you die, and I live, there's no life for me at all back in District Twelve. You're my whole life." Peeta says. "I would never be happy again.'' But so does Katniss. When Peeta says no one needs him alive, she replies--''I do, I need you.'' and gives him another one of those kisses that make her tingly all over, that make her never want to stop kissing him. Another ADORABLE quote: ''My nightmares are usually about losing you,” he says. “I'm okay once I realize you're here.” GUSHHHHHHH...Fan Girl Mode...
Another thing that I found proved her love for Peeta was when she is taken from the arena to find that, Peeta has been left behind and why. She attacks Haymitch, nearly gouging out his eyes...Aka,Super badass Katniss time.
