I Just couldn't get past how quickly they fell in love-at least i think they fell in love fast. It was an average read. I was slightly disappointed because i expected big things, because the amount of reccomendations on this one. It was a good read, but i wouldn't readit again. This is also my first book by Maya Banks. I will read the rest of the trilogy because I loved the the Brothers and i look forward to there stories, plus I already bought them :P 'In Bed With a Highlander' had some cute moments, such as when Marien the heroine, leeps at Ewan, The hero and kisses him.(she does that alot, By the way) I felt actual hatred for The Villan and was disappointed when he didn't get his comupance. Good book, not the best. But i'll still carry on with the series. (less)

Keely, is simply badass and incredibley relateable. I wanted to be friends with Keeley and help her through all her problems. Harshly Thrown out of her clan and called a whore because she was almost raped by a lecherous old man, who,by the way, was her UNCLE! She lived a lonely existance until, Alaric McCabe, falls off his horse, injured and near death. Basically, its love at fist sight for both of them. Alaric calls her his angel, and he is her warrior. Their Love is pure and they don't beat around the bush about there attraction towards each other, they both know it from the get-go. Alaric is near obsessive with her, but then so is she. I swear, this book had me on the verge of tears over a 100 times. The characters, were much more real and they showed genuine affection towards each other. So far in the series, Keeley is my favourite heroine, but i haven't read the last one so i can't say for sure. But as of now, yup, she definitly tops Mairin. I loved that Mairin had a little girl, i actually expected a boy. Don't ask why :P just had a feeling.
Over all-- I LOVE LOVE LOVE this book! and im dieing to get reading the next one 'Never Love a Highlander'. I loved how Caelen has really opened up in this book. You could she he actually cared for Keeley and din't place her with all the other females. They had a real brother/sister relationship, which i found adorable! You could see that Rionna was interested in Caelen, yet still frightened. I was like, 'OHHHH CAELEN IS IN FOR IT BIG TIME!!' when he said she will obey me etc. Can't wait to read it!

At the begining of this trilogy, i did have my misgivings. The first book 'In Bed With A Highlander' , The story of Ewan McCabe and Mairin disapppointed me, but i still enjoyed it. I personally didn't like The heroine nor the hero. The hero, Ewan's brothers caught my eye though. In the second book, 'Seduction Of A Highland Lass', Alaric McCabe, The middle child of the McCabe brothers falls In Love with Keeley McDonald. I adored this one and couldn't put it down. Their romance was so real and emotional, who couldn't like it? The last installment, 'Never Love A Highlander' was sublime. The love-betrayed warrior, Caelen McCabe marries Rionna McDonald to secure an alliance between their clans. Rionna, a warrior at heart and can fight better then any male, is friightened by Caelen, yet vows to have his heart. 'Tis a beautiful story. Maya Bamks really brought a great ending to the series. My only problem was that it was to short :P. I wanted it to go on forever, but alas, It had to end. I loved Rionna, she was epic. She is brave and stong yet soft, loving and innocent. Maya Banks upted the antie! I have always liked Caelen more then the other brothers. He always had some sort of appel to me, I Suppose, I like me some tortured hero. (view spoiler)[I loved how,in the end, we see that Caelen thinks he has been in love with her since he first saw her. TOO CUTE!! (hide spoiler)] Never Love A Highlander Has to best cover if you ask me, The model protraying Rionna is just lovely and The Male model protraying Caelen is super hot :P A Great end to the McCabe Troilogy!

The her...moreChild Of The Mist by Kathleen Morgan is the beginning of the 'These Highland Hills' Trilogy, and a well written book--and not what i expected. The heroine, Anne MacGregor, is a suspected witch who finds her self unexpectedly hand-fasted to the tanist soon to be chieftain, Niall Campbell to stop bloodshed between two of the fighting clans. I normally don't like widowed hero's because i don't like the idea of a man whose meant to be mourning his late wife but is now in love with someone else. so i kinda question the solidarity of his love for Anne. But he does say he has never loved anyone like this--which i was kinda happy about, because i didn't want Anne playing second fiddle to Nialls first wife. I found myself wondering at first how she could fall in love with Niall so quickly-but the author explains this--Anne and Niall feel like magnets-drawn to each other--and Niall is such a deep dude...he is like...DUDDEEE. He is never violent to her, and he shows his vulnerability to her--something he never has shown anyone before. I think his love for Annie number 2 (his first wife's name was Anne as well :/) better, or had found his true soul mate in her who could match up to him and talk to him on the same level. Anne is like kick ass--her 'witchcraft isn't really witchcraft but she is a person(i really dont know the name) who collects herbs and plants and use them as medicine--so a herbal doctor? and she is mistaken as a witch when she breaths life back into a baby who's umbilical cord is choking her. The book all in all is good, well written novel--but at times i didn't feel a connection between the leads-when i read the back of the book i was expecting something else--but neither the less it was still good-and i probably will read the follow up books. 3.5 Stars.(less)
