Her writing, characters, and stories are just amazing and have been with me a long time. Noting that and the fact I’ve read over 3 dozen books by this amazing author it’s no small thing to say that H.M. Ward has wowed me beyond belief. Last Heartbreak is definitely one of my favorite books by her and just in general.
Starting Last Heartbreak was hard. The first pages deal with abuse and that was honestly hard for me. A lot of this book was hard for me and not because the writing sucked or anything, but that stuff hits close to home. I thought I wasn’t going to be able to make it through the story. But I did and it was beautiful and perfect in every way.
Kienna or Kia has been a tool for her family to get to the top of the social ladder for a long time. Long enough for Kia to hate herself and long enough for her to want to end it all a million times over. When a night on a ledge leads to a man named Graham saving her Kia finally meets someone who wants nothing from her. Now Kia and nerdy as well me since I need his nerd cologne Graham become close friends, trying to get their lives to be where they want to be.
I really enjoyed Kia and Graham’s story. I like how it evolved from friendship into something else. I enjoyed their banter and I will forever laugh about Excalibur because that line was priceless.
Despite the dark undertones and the beautiful but sad message this book carried about mental health issues I loved how the book still carried a lightness about it. Fan-freaking-tastic, heart breaking, gut wrenching, swoon inducing phenomenal story. Beyond beautiful. I am going to cherish this story for a very long time.
Good job to new upcoming author Melanie Bussiere and of course props to H.M. Ward for writing this miraculous story of love, loss, and family. ...more
I LOVE THIS BOOK! SO MUCH YES TO THIS GLORIOUS STORY!!!

Reap starts off with a bang of action and danger and left me breathless throughout entire story.
221 is a weapon, a man who is no longer anything or anyone. He can’t remember his past or who he was. He isn’t allowed to act outside the orders of his Master. He’s the ultimate killing machine, until Luka or Raze an ex weapon comes to save him. Now 221 is learning about his past and what it’s like to be human again, from Talia. Talia is a mafia princess who wants nothing to do with 221 or as she’s learning his real name Zaal. Zaal is from a rival family she is set to hate, but the longer she watches him the more connected to him she feels.
Talia is a strong independent woman. She’s been helping the family business for a long time and when she heads away for vacation, her brother brings in 221. Needless to say she’s pretty upset because seriously who disrupts a vacation like that? But she gets over her anger and hatred towards Zaal pretty quick.
I loved this whole story. Everything was so not what I expected. 221 has been abused so terribly and drugged up so much he can’t do much besides obey commands and kill. Reap follows Zaal as he discovers who he was and who he is. I loved the journey and him changing from this sort of unthinking machine to someone who trades his life for those he cares about.
Talia is so sweet and caring. She thinks something bad happened to Zaal so she checks on him, almost gets killed, and then takes care of him. I love their initial meeting with each other since Zaal is so different than any character I’ve ever read about in any story ever.
Now there are lots of sexy scenes, but I have to say it makes sense since Zaal is all muscled animalistic sex appeal and Talia loves all his sexiness. I do wish I could have gotten more from their relationship like talking, but that also made sense since Zaal wasn’t allowed to talk for the majority of his life.
I don’t know if this sounds weird but I enjoy how broken characters become so strong and caring. It makes me love the characters more when they’ve struggled and Zaal most definitely has.
Now you CAN read this as a standalone like I did, but I would suggest reading the series in order since right when I finished this story I went out and grabbed book one.
I hadn’t read Tillie Cole before this story, but I am definitely a SUPER FAN!! Tillie Cole is definitely on my love list of authors.
Seriously grab this book and hold on for the amazing ride it will take you on. There’s action, sweaty hot sexy times, strong female characters, yummy hot males, the mob. You can’t ask for more! So fabulous I am so thankful to the publishers and Netgalley for sending me a copy of this most glorious book. ...more

Jordan bought a car at a police auction and needs to get the inside remodeled. Heading to a drag race with one of her friends she meets a guy who does remodels, and that’s also where she meets Nic Medina. Jordan has lived a solitary life ever since her sophomore year of college when everything went wrong. Now trying to put her life back together all she has is her car, her apartment, and her job. It’s nothing special until Nic Medina comes to steal her car, steals her with it and brings her into his world of car repair and car-jacking for a dirty cop. Nic didn’t want to bring anyone into the bad situation he has going on, but after kidnapping Jordan from work she doesn’t leave him any choice.
I seriously loved this book. Everything about it was just fantastic. The writing was off the charts and the whole story was so original and fast-paced and breathtaking I honestly didn’t put this book down to even eat. There’s kidnapping, and dirty cops, and drugs, and fights, and off the charts sexiness and romance, and fast cars. I seriously couldn’t have asked for more in a story than what I got in Accelerate.
Jordan’s past is dark and she deals with a lot of issues because of her past. I didn’t really know for sure what happened until later in the book, but a lot is implied and seriously messed up beyond belief. Despite all that Jordan who I thought would be a kind of weaker character because of the trauma she endured was a super strong and feisty female lead, which as totally me favorite kind. Jordan goes through a lot in this book and becomes and even stronger character in the end, which I loved.
Nic Medina is a yumsicle for real. He was in prison after a dirty cop busted him, so I thought I was going to get a cold hard alpha male character. Nic Medina while totally an alpha male is honestly one of the most caring, sweet male leads I’ve ever read about. When he cares about someone he loves them hard and would give his life to protect them. He carries a lot of guilt over anything bad that happens to anyone he loves, but Jordan and his family help out a lot with that. Seriously Nic had to be one of my favorite lead characters yet.
I can’t wait to read the next installment since Accelerate left on a cliffhanger. I loved this story so so much. If you are into awesome fast paced romance with a REAL story in it this is the book for you. I was so happy to not be reading just another story where the two characters just have sex all the time. Accelerate has an actual story with romance on the side....more
I am such a MONUMENTAL fan of Jay Crownovers books since Rule the very first book in the Marked Men series. I knew Built was going to be fantastical,I am such a MONUMENTAL fan of Jay Crownovers books since Rule the very first book in the Marked Men series. I knew Built was going to be fantastical, but I had no idea how much of an understatement that was.
Most of the characters we meet in this story are carried over from the Marked Men series. Sayer is Rowdy’s older sister and Zeb is one of Rowdy’s best friends. I absolutely loved Built for more than just the fantastical writing. Since Saints of Denver is a new spin-off series, I was happier not hearing about some of my favorite characters than I was in the Marked Men series. The Saints of Denver was a fresh start and a whole new look at the amazing characters.
Sayer has had a hard life living with her father who gave her no love and constant rejection. Her mother hasn’t been in the picture for a long time and all Sayer knows is to push people away and shut down. When Zeb needs her help with…something I won’t share since that would ruin the surprise, Sayer wants their relationship to stay professional, but Zeb is very persistent and isn’t taking no for an answer (not in a terrible way, but in a very HOT way). Zeb’s whole life changed when he was sent to jail for protecting his sister and her daughter. He’s learned his lesson that every action has a consequence and all he wants now is for Sayer to be apart of his life.
I LOVE Sayer and Zeb, they are absolutely amazing are right up there on my favorites list with Rule and Shaw. I haven’t loved characters this much in a long time. Sayer’s is such a strong woman who despite her terrible past overcomes her fears and is able to become a stronger woman despite all of the hurt she’s gone through. Zeb is an ubber sexy lumberjack who seriously has me rethinking my thoughts on beards. Zeb while a total bad bottom is one of the most caring men ever. He just wants to protect his family and Sayer and would do anything to do that. I liked that Zeb was strong enough to help Sayer realize who she was by pushing her, but also being the best guy ever. I seriously have a mega crush on Zeb for he is the bomb diggidy.
Built was a fantastic story with so many surprises and heart wrenching moments I was physically unable to put this story down for even a moment. I read Built in one sitting. Built is one of the best stories I have ever read and one the best by Jay Crownover ever. It’s completely magnificent.
If you love hot guys with beards, stories with strong women, sexy sexy sexy hot times, and great writing you will want to get in on this story. The pacing is fantastic, I never felt like the story dragged in any areas.
I cannot thank the publishers enough for sending me a copy of Built early! I will love you for always.
THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! First off HAPPY RELEASE DAY TO ARCTIC BOUND!!
I received an ARC of Arctic Bound and it’s definitely one of those books where gTHAT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!! First off HAPPY RELEASE DAY TO ARCTIC BOUND!!
I received an ARC of Arctic Bound and it’s definitely one of those books where getting an ARC is a blessing and a curse. I was so excited to get an ARC and read Tigris Eden’s new book early, and then I finished and all I could think was “now I have to wait longer than everyone else for the next one.” Sad I know, but I know the wait will be worth it.
Nerina is in hiding. Having escaped New York after the fire that killed her parent she’s hiding from the people she once called family. Burned and injured Nerina hides out in a small town in Alaska. All Nerina wants is a private life and that’s what she got until she meets Victor. The two butt heads instantly and Victor knows she’s hiding something.
Victor and his pack have formed a life up in the mountains secluded from humans and Hunters. Victor is soon to be Alpha and with is comes all kinds of responsibilities, like marrying Sasha. While he knows his duty he wants Nerina, and so does his warrior.
Arctic Bound was definitely not what I expected at all. I don’t want to give too much away so I kept what happens in the story at its minimum. Arctic Bound is definitely one of my favorite books this year. I cannot wait for more. Acrtic Bound has the supernatural with all diferent kinds of lore involved. We have Egyptian lore combined with Ancient Greek mythology. Seriously it can’t get better than this.
Nerina was a completely badass character. I loved her right from the start. Even though she’s injured she never lets it slow her down. She works hard to be independent and keep her strength up. Her personality is just amazing too. She’s straight up with everyone about who she is. She doesn’t back down and she goes after what she wants. Honestly Nerina is my absolute favorite type of character. She grows throughout the story, but is strong beginning to end.
Victor is a dick at the beginning of this book but explains is in a way where it would be understandable in the animal kingdom. Weakness isn’t tolerated in the animal kingdom which is why at first he doesn’t “like” Nerina. Victor is all Alpha male (in every sense of the word) and while he is a sexy and lickable character I liked that his character is the one that grew the most.
Arctic Bound was action packed. I enjoyed the fight scenes and that things blew up and or course how our two amazing main characters kicked major bootay. The sexy scenes where Nerina was BOUND he-he get the name now? No? Okay then anyway bondage was a huge part of Victors and the wolves’ lifestyle which was a definite surprise. You are going to need a fan for this one peeps.
Honestly there were so many twists and turns and the surprise that happens near the end, which changes the entire way I looked at the story and characters before was a huge mind blowing moment. I was definitely kept on my toes and am desperate for more of this series.
I love Tigris Eden as an author and here’s why. She puts everything I want in a book without it being too much. I am a huge fan of adding diversity into books and Tigris delivers. Nerina is biracial which is so freaking cool since I rarely ever read about biracial characters. Her female characters sometimes come across as weak, but in the end they take the most hits and keep getting back up to kick butt. She adds humor, action and has realistic characters in a fantasy world that you wish was real. She never overwrites because I loathe endless amounts of description and everything in the book comes across as natural. Tigris is definitely fantastic, so if you haven’t picked up her books yet, you should seriously start....more

I had a complete book hangover for almost a week after reading this phenomenal story. I swear the second book needed to come out yesterday because the wait is completely sucking, but I know it will be totally worth it.
Jax Mitchell had only her brother for the longest time until something happened to Jax and they were forced to move one of the last remaining cities in the world. Humans are all but extinct since the E’rickson, and alien race came and took over the earth. Jax thought everything was alright, until the E’rickson showed up and kidnapped her brother and left and E’rickson as her only means of tracking him. Jax doesn’t expect the E’rickson to be kind or helpful, but she knows she has to get her brother back before the town she lives in becomes more corrupt and she never sees her brother again.
I swear this book was completely epic. Never before have I read a story so completely unpredictable. The characters, the story, and the darkness and secrets surrounding both the human and the alien settlements were just completely unpredictable and flawless.
Jax before this story began has been injured and hurt. She couldn’t speak or move for a long time after it happened, but when she finally came to her brother had taken her to a town they used to trade with. Jax doesn’t know how to be close to people anymore, and she really doesn’t want to. I loved her character for so many reasons. Despite the fact that she’s a tad antisocial and has a damaged past she is one of the most fiercely loyal and tough characters I’ve ever read. She helps keep Lir her alien companion alive with nothing but her wits and knowledge of the wilderness. Even in the depths of the unknown alien world she survives and grows stronger. I don’t know if I can say there’s a ton of character development, but I think Jax discovers her inner strength.
Lir is the alien E’rickson who gets left behind by the men who took Jax’s brother. He’s never been outside the alien city before and he has no way of surviving until Jax makes him a deal to get him home in exchange for entrance into the city. I didn’t trust Lir at first since the circumstances surrounding his entrance into the story seemed fishy. Inevitably they team up and go on an adventure to get Lir home. Lir has a story we don’t really get a glance at until later in the story. He doesn’t trust Jax and sometimes he was a complete and total jerk, but I enjoyed his character and felt he came a long way from the untrusting alien to the man we see at the end of the story.
So I wouldn’t call this story a romance by any means because Broken Skies was a lot more about the story than the lovey dovey stuff, but there was some. I was a little nervous at the beginning when I thought this may turn out to be a love triangle. It so didn’t turn out that way. Jax and Lir end up forming a bond that only E’rickson can make with their true mates so that was amazing to see how their relationship and feelings grew. Since Jax has never been interesting in boys besides Lir she is very naive and confused about their relationship. I enjoyed reading about their journey from untrusting companions to something a lot more.
I could really go on and on about this story. So much happens that it was mind-blowing it all fit so perfectly into one book. Theresa Kay is definitely an amazing author. Her writing and story telling ability is just completely off the charts. I was never bored and constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what was next. I seriously could not put this book down and I read it in one sitting, so worth the book hangover.
Broken Skies is amazing which is why it is now one of my favorites. I kept reading and rereading after I finished and seriously cannot say enough about how fantastic this book is. It’s original and thrilling and I cannot thank both Netgallley enough for sending me a copy of this book. I would really recommend this book to YA dystopian lovers who enjoy the story more than the romance. Can’t wait for the next book since that ending was heartbreaking and amazing at the same time. ...more

OH MY GOODNESS!! I swear I am not going to throw a tantrum but I seriously want to. For-real!!! Cliffhanger totally a kick in the lady parts!!! Plus I got to read this book waaay early and now I have a longer wait then the rest of the world. *Bursts into tears*. Okay okay I’m better now let’s move on to the review and past my emotional state.
Jackson and Annabelle are an adorable and sexy couple who aren’t without their issues. Jackson is the Sheriff of Beauville and wants Annabelle to move back home and in with him, and he isn’t going to take no for an answer. Annabelle has worked hard for her career and wants to make sure she’s made it before she heads back home. The two of them are known for heated arguments and passionate hot make up sex, lots of it. When everything seems to be working out for them obstacles the size of continents begin rising up and threatening to break them apart. It was so insane with everything that happened. So much happens and yet it didn’t feel overwhelming, just like OMG WHAT ELSE COULD GO WORSE!! It was great.
Annabelle is a great character; she’s sassy, funny quick witted, a southern belle, and a little bit of a diva. I love how she stands up for what she believes in and even when Jackson tries to push her over on stuff she stands firm…some of the time. Annabelle is just an all around amazing, strong and independent woman. She takes care of everyone around her. I just love Annabelle.
Jackson is a total and complete swoon worthy jerk sometimes. First off Jackson is beyond hot, total drool worthy sex machine material. That being said, he can be a complete and total A-hole. He’s insensitive at times, when he doesn’t get what he wants he figures out was to get it and he’s a bit of an overlord on everything. Now I know I just listed a boat load of qualities that sound really unappealing and I’m not going to say Jackson’s sex appeal makes up for him being a troll sometimes, but since we get his POV in this book I now have more insight into who he is and how much he really cares about the people around him even though he comes across as calloused. I think I like him because despite him being rude sometimes he’s realistic and honest. He always says what he means and is always himself so I have to give him credit for that.
To be honest I was nervous to start this book since it seemed like in the novella that it was going to be a insta-love everything is rainbows book. I should have known better. Tigris Eden would never do something so terrible. This amazing author crafted a southern story so well. I loved how amazing this story was, never a dull moment. This story kept me on my toes and at the edge of my seat.
Can’t wait for book two and this book gets extra double points for an interracial couple. If you are into sexy hot scenes you need to get all up in this book. If you’re into books that will keep you on your toes with guessing what will happen next then you need to read this book. If you like characters who have great chemistry, arguments, and great banter then you need to read this book....more
Just when I thought I couldn’t like Kresely Cole or that no story could beat The Professional, The Master is released and wow, just wow. A warning nowJust when I thought I couldn’t like Kresely Cole or that no story could beat The Professional, The Master is released and wow, just wow. A warning now for this book is that you will definitely need a fan because the sexy scenes in this book, and Maxim in all his male hotness are steam worthy.
I am going to try as hard as possible to keep this review spoiler free however, if you feel I have spoiled something, I am very sorry.
Let’s start with the story. Catarina is on the run from her husband who is trying to kill her (not spoiler as you find this out right away). She is almost done with her last year of college and her rules, one that says she can’t stay in places very long say it’s time to go. However, even while living in basic poverty to keep money she needs some major cash and fast. So when her friend has an allergic reaction Cat decides to take her job for the wealthiest Russian ever, as a prostitute. One night of sex for a whole lot of cash sounds like the easiest thing in the world. Until she meets Maxim her job for the night who is the sexiest man she’s ever met. Now he’s playing for keeps with his BDSM lifestyle and while Cat wants to stay she’s still on the run.
I am going to try so hard not to just go on and on about how amazing this book is, but it’s probably not going to happen. Let the worship begin.
Cat was an AMAZING character. Just like all of Ms. Cole’s books that I’ve read before Cat is a strong female character who will do anything to survive. She’s very intelligent, resourceful, and hilarious. I really enjoyed both her inner monologue and her dialogue with other characters. Cat has had a hard life and even still she tries to see the brighter side of things despite the fact that she has to live in fear every second of every day. I loved her a lot and I enjoyed how much she grew as a character and an intellect throughout the story.
Maxim is just wow. I can’t decide who I enjoyed reading about more, him or Sevastyan. Both of them are ubber swoon worthy to me so I am just going to love them both equally Maxim is definitely expressive and possessive. When he decides he wants Cat for keeps he woos her, and seduces her and I was fanning myself the whole way through. Just DAAMN! Since he’s in the Mafia he’s paranoid and dangerous although both of those characteristics amped up his hotness factor to me, but anyway. Due to his harsh past which we got some details about in The Profession (which you should but don’t have to read first) his trust issues come as little surprise and I just loved when he showed his vulnerability to Cat finally and told his story.
I can’t get over how great this story was. There was danger, seduction, great characters, and just an all around great and original story with phenomenal writing. I read and reread this book so many times right after finishing this book it’s not even funny. I definitely have some favorite scenes and I am definitely excited for when the next book comes out. I just know it’s going to be epic.
If you haven’t already go grab a copy of The Professional because I really feel you should read this story in order or some of the characters won’t make sense. Also, I would only recommend this book and really this series for people who are into kinky sexy BDSM books and for older more mature readers. Bring on book number three!...more
Holy smokes that was amazing!!! Kresley Cole has done it again!!!
Natalie Porter is trying to figure out what to do with her life. She’s working threeHoly smokes that was amazing!!! Kresley Cole has done it again!!!
Natalie Porter is trying to figure out what to do with her life. She’s working three jobs to help find her parents, and she’s working on a Masters degree because she can’t figure out what else to do.
Then one night at the bar with her best friend while playing a game she sees him: Aleksei Sevastyan. He’s the first man Natalie has ever seen to not fit into one of her perfect boxes for men. When he shoots her down at the bar she thinks that’s the end of it. Until he breaks into her house and kidnaps her to take her to Russia, to meet her father.
Realizing her father is in the mob isn’t the only surprise she gets. Sevastyan is the man she wants to take her virginity but nothing is that simply. If they have sex they are bound forever. While everything Natalie learns about Sevastyan intrigues her more and more he’s holding things back, and continues to push her away.
When a brutal attack on her fathers home forces Sevastyan and Natalie to flee to Paris where their relationship both sexually and emotionally will come to a head.
First let me start off by saying this is one of the hottest, swooniest, hard-core books I have ever read. When reading about the BDSM lifestyle sometimes the themes can get a little old, especially when you’re reading a lot of them. Many of the guys want full control in everything in their lives including sex. Kresley Cole took that and went a completely different direction with both Sevastyan and Natalie. The BDSM aspects of this book with the Dom and Sub roles were written in different ways that were refreshing.
Natalie was a great character to read about. I enjoyed her humor and how she never backed down from what she wanted. She pushed and persisted to get to Sevastyan even while he was being a mega jerk. Natalie is smart, which helps her reach realizations about herself and what she wants. Natalie is definitely a great character that I fell in love with from the first pages.
Sevastyan was assigned to watch over Natalie and report back to her father. However, in that time he fell for her and throughout the book he struggles to be what he thinks she needs and who he is. While he was sometimes a major jerk to Natalie there is never doubt that he cares for her. He’s protective and possessive which is totally sexy.
So, I mentioned the sexy because of course there is sexy. It’s HOTT!! I mean seriously hot. I have never read hotter scenes than in this book. There are sex toys, clamps, bindings, voyeur-ish stuff, and a whole other slew of naughty things they I promise will leave you needing a power fan for how hot the scenes are.
I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOOK. Seriously, you want and need to read this. I love Kresley Cole’s other works and The Professional was just perfection. The writing, the humor, the characters, and the originality are truly what did it for me with this amazing story.
I received a copy of The Professional from the publisher through Netgalley for an honest review. The free copy in no way influenced my review....more

Riven was a General of an epic and terrifying force of soldiers called Vectors. Dead soldiers being brought back to life with technology. Now Riven is on the run from her father and his Vectors trying to find the one person who can save her best-friends Cale’s life. His brother. Cale’s mother escaped into modern day Earth with Caden, Cale’s brother and she’s been sent to find him and bring him back. Except it gets a whole lot more complicated than she ever expected when she finds Caden after 3 years of searching.
I won’t say more than that because I don’t want to give anything away, but there is romance, people die, it’s a race against time and a fight to the death every day. I loved every freaking minute of it.
Riven is just awesome. She’s a totally kick butt character who doesn’t take crap from anyone. She’s been taught to be the best soldier she can be and not to love. Her father is a sick disgusting man taken over by geed and her mother and sister are dead. She’s had a very hard life and was taught not to love. Then she meets Caden and things change more for her. She’s supposed to be an emotionless soldier but after being in her head for more than five minutes you know she’s not. I enjoyed reading about her transformation from afraid to love to willing to do anything to protect it.
Caden is super awesome. I enjoy his character so much. Book boyfriend material right here. He sees through Riven’s hard exterior right away and becomes her friend despite her being kind of prickly in the beginning. I enjoyed reading his teasing of Riven and just taking everything in stride.
The Almost Girl reminds me a lot of two of my favorite series: Project Paper Doll by Stacey Kade and A Throne of Glass by Sara J. Maas. If you haven’t read either of these I am so sorry for you and you need to pick these up. Riven does the whole “thousand ways to kill you thing” I enjoy a lot more than a normal person should. Such a phenomenal book and I am counting down the days until I can read book two. If you haven’t read anything by Amalie Howard, that’s okay I hadn’t either until this book. Be prepared to be wowed!...more
You know the books that come out and just kick you right on your ass because it’s not what you were expecting aI have mixed feelings about this book.
You know the books that come out and just kick you right on your ass because it’s not what you were expecting at all? That is what happened when I read Deeper. I really truly had an almost love hate relationship with this book. Deeper for me was just one of those books that had such a moving message and such fantastical realistic characters I honestly didn’t know how to feel. After reading so many books sometimes it honestly feels like I’m reading a story I’ve already read. That is so not the case for me with Deeper.
Caroline has been in a relationship with Nate for three years. She’s smart, sweet, loyal and just an all-around nice person. Her perfect life comes crashing down on her though when after her and Nate break-up he posts compromising pictures of her all over the Internet. Now Caroline spends her time trying to delete the pictures for online sites and get the horrible words of all the comments she’s seen out of her mind. Caroline never expected West.
West has rules he has family he has everything to lose. West sells drugs outside of the bakery he works at. He works three jobs just to make sure in case anything happens back at home he can help his family. He’s wanted Caroline since he first met her, but he can’t have her. West tries to give everything away and take nothing for himself except for Caroline because he wants her bad. Instead he sticks to being non-friends. He shows Caroline how to make bread and be a person again, a person without the pictures.
Okay so honestly one of the first things that drew me to thing book was how Caroline and West weren’t the “usual” perfectly attractive book people. They weren’t beautiful in the “everything on my body is perfect” sense. They weren’t the classic I guess is what I’m saying. West’s body while perfect his face apparently wasn’t. He had a big crooked mouth and his ears were small. Caroline has a gap between her teeth that she can spit out of. I loved that. Honestly that makes them so much more real to me.
The only part of this book I was somewhat irritated with which was fixed a thousand times over was that the book became suuuuuper slow towards the middle-ish of the book and it was irritating. It followed West and Caroline every-freaking-day but they never did anything just ignoring their attraction for one another, which would have been fine if it hadn’t been dragged out so long.
What I honestly loved most about this book was the message. The message was that people who use “Revenge porn” as a act of hurting someone is not okay and that it’s not the victims fault. A lot of the book centered on how Caroline deals with her emotions of guilt and how many people blame her for what someone else put out there. This is what really made Caroline such an amazing character to me. She learned to stop blaming herself and take action and she truly grew as a character which there is honestly nothing better than that to me.
Lastly, the humor in this book with the amazing characters was phenomenal! I honestly have to say this book was surprisingly hilarious. All the characters are just so amazing and funny and I can go on and on. Robin York is honestly has written one of my new favorite books so yay.
You need to get this book. Seriously. Go now.
Favorite Quotes: “The thing about being a good girl is, you spend your whole life developing a finely honed radar for detecting anything that could potentially cause people to love you less.”
“Never let it be said the caveman thing doesn’t turn you on.”
Teaser: “I can’t be Frankie’s and keep Caroline. I wish I could, but there’s no point in wishing. Every time I kissed Caroline, I pulled her deeper in. Deep and then deeper, until I couldn’t come home again without bringing her home.”
Swoon: “West reaches out, fists his hands in my coat and yanks me into him. We meet at the mouth. It’s the most obscene kiss of my life. Deep and hard, gasping hot, sticky-sweet, messy. It turns out that West doesn’t even need words to make the point he came here to make. Mine, his mouth says. Mine, mine, mine.”...more

When I heard that Tigris Eden hadSo I fell in love with this series from the very first book and I swear these books keep getting better and better. When I heard that Tigris Eden had written a novella I was both excited and disappointed. Novella’s always seem to be slow and not have as much content as I would like. I needn’t worry though because Tigris Eden delivered her novella Bonded In Shadows with a huge punch and I am seriously dying for the next installment in the Shadow Unit series.
Jes and Draven are finally over all the kidnapping, memory loss, and stalker ex-husbands and are finally together with their daughter. The problem is now they’re with Draven’s families with his pack. Now they’re fighting to stay together because of “pack business” and things are getting complicated. To top it all off Jes’ family is coming to visit and meet Faith for the first time. Everything is becoming a tangled mess of lies and when Faith takes her spirit walk and gets shown the outcome of the future that will change everything.
Ah I love Bonded in Shadows just as much as the two full length novels. How crazy is that? I have never had that happen before but Tigris Eden knows her stuff. Lots of sexy scenes which I definitely needed a fan for because holy smokes they were seriously steamy scenes.
Jes is even more of a bad ass than ever before. With her powers she has a lot of power to back up her bite and she isn’t letting anyone take anything away from her. I honestly love Jes as a character because she seriously is the strongest character ever and I love it. No matter the obstacle and being knocked down she always gets back up and her character really shines through in this lovely novella.
Ronin, Royce, and Bells are closer than ever. I love their relationship and their characters. Both Ronin and Royce are sexy as can be and I always find it funny that they’re the most dark characters but they also are the funniest and light hearted. Bells is dealing with some issues in this book that I don’t want to give away but I am going to say it’s going to be so exciting to find out what happens with her surprise news.
And then there was Draven. I love Draven even though he is the thickest headed alpha male ever. He’s so sweet and loving with his family but also fierce and protective and he’s just completely lickable. Love him love him love him.
All in all, I am loving this series more and more and after meeting the amazing Tigris Eden at RT I love these books even more. Dying for the third installment of this series.
Also, I want to spend a special thank you to Tigris Eden for sending me the wonderful copy of Bonded In Shadows. These books made my life.
Teaser: “She’s not pack. They won’t ever accept her. You’re going to be alpha someday. You need a wolf at your side not some human with the power to move things with her mind, it’s not a trait that will benefit the pack.”...more

When Tessa walks in on her husband and the only man she’s ever been with cheating on her with her best friend she drops everything and leaves. Divorcing him she’s left with nothing. No money, no higher education past a high school diploma, and no job. Now almost a year later Tessa is working a temp job, taking night school, and has her own apartment. Tackling a list that will prove her husband wrong she’s on a mission. Taking a dating/ cooking class she runs straight into Van, a man who awakens everything that has been dormant inside her for a long time. After a night together Tessa knows she can’t see him again or she’ll risk everything she’s been trying to accomplish, gaining her freedom.
When Kade bumps into Contessa a.k.a. Tessa his long lost high school first love he can’t believe it. All the time that’s past seems like nothing and Kade will not let what happened between them the first time happen again. Taking her into his world where the word kinky is taken to a whole new level Kade plans on showing Tessa everything she’s missed out on in her sheltered life. The problem is Kade doesn’t want to lose her again and is afraid his BDSM lifestyle will have her running for the hills instead of to his bed.
Squeeel! Honest to goodness Need You Tonight is one of those mind blowing books where at least to me other books have been paling in comparison. This book had everything I could ever want (well you know…besides vampires) and that was great. Amazing dialogue between characters, raw powerful emotions, realistic characters, hunky dudes, and you know…hot sexy time scenes that had me fanning myself. And they were HOT I swear it was wow. The sexy scenes definitely amp up from more innocent in the beginning to water boiling hot towards the end.
I know this is going to come out weird, but I liked that Tessa was abused. I know weird right, but honestly I felt an instant connection with her once I realized what was happening with her and her ex having experienced that myself as well. Ms. Roni Loren really captured the abused character traits well I thought. Tessa was many of the times unsure of herself because of being controlled for so long and for not having experienced many things. I enjoyed her insecurities because they made her character more real for me.
Van or Kade or Kaden has his own sets of issues but before I get to that let me first say; hot damn! I mean seriously Kade is yummy! I honestly don’t have any idea as to how to describe my feelings for Kade other than I am extremely jealous of Tessa and he is book husband material.
One of the aspects about this book that got me hooked was the flashbacks and the dual pov. I LOVE DUAL POV especially when it’s a girl and guy pov I’m getting. Tessa and Kade both share a past and the flashbacks show where their relationship started, how it ended and why, and the secret to what happened to Kaden all those years ago. The flashbacks switched between their perspectives just like the rest of the book did. I really fell in love with both of the characters before the flashbacks but I think with Kade his flashbacks gave a little more insight into his more vulnerable side. Since Kade is a Dom inside and out he likes control and I enjoyed reading about a younger him that was a little less sure of himself, but no less adorable.
I don’t want to give anything away so I’m just going to say that I love this book with a passion. Need you Tonight is definitely going to be a favorite of mine for a long time. I fell in love with Tessa from the first page and Kade from the minute he walked into the restaurant. Flaws and all Tessa and Kade are two of my favorite characters. Since Need You Tonight has had me out of whack from reading since I finished this amazing book I will so have to space out when I read these amazing books. Roni Loren you have crafted genius and I can’t wait to read more by you. Plus added boun there are so many hilarious scenes and things in this book I cried from how hard I was laughing. What more could anyone possibly need from a great book?
Honestly I am highly recommending this book to people who are getting into the BDSM books or just adult romance books. I have a lot of issues with other BDSM stories that seem to be about just sex and not really about the characters, but with Need You Tonight I didn’t have that issue at all. If anything their personalities and backstory were the focal point of this story even during the s*x scenes and I have to give my props because that’s a first for me.
Teaser: “She’d said that she only wanted tonight. She’s said this was a one- time thing. Kaden Fowler would’ve turned and gone home. That boy had been used to hearing no. But Kade Vandergriff didn’t even know what the word sounded like.”
Swoon: “He grabbed her legs, lifted her off her feet, and wrapped her legs around his waist, going in for a real kiss. She let out a little gasp of surprise but quickly melted into his hold. He tasted like cookies and vanilla and pure temptation.”...more
Holy sex on toast that book was made of fantastical magical things. For fans of the Marked Men series if you thinHoly hot cakes batman I am in love!!!
Holy sex on toast that book was made of fantastical magical things. For fans of the Marked Men series if you think you loved Jay Crownover’s books before you haven’t seen anything yet. Better When He’s Bad is a phenomenal story with that definitely had me craving more long after I finished reading.
Shane has been in prison for five years after being set up and now he’s out and needs answers. Getting back to the Point he realizes he isn’t the only one looking for the one person who needs answers. His best friend has stirred up trouble and now Bax needs to figure out what went down then and why his friend has come out of hiding only to disappear again. In looking for his best friend he runs straight into Dovie his best-friends secret half-sister.
Dovie was told to wait for Bax but she knows trouble when she sees it. Tattoos, and a sexy build Bax is everything she knows she should stay away from. Too bad he sets her on fire like no one ever has. He’s the only person who can help her find her brother and she’s the only person who can see through his past and give him a future. That is if he doesn’t get killed.
I am honestly in love. I didn’t think it could get better than the Marked Men series but holy smoked unicorn it totally CAN and DID! Bax and Dovie were absolutely amazing characters. They both has a great sense of humor and pasts they can’t get rid of. They both grow a lot throughout this book and I can honestly say they start off as amazing and only get better. Shane(Bax) is a total badass who doesn’t take crap from anyone. He doesn’t believe he’s a good person and he’s very cynical of everyone and everything. He’s a total dick when he firsts sees Dovie and I don’t know if this means I suck but I kind of liked that. Every reaction he had to things seemed to be realistic and I totally loved that. Dovie is just so freaking adorable and honestly she totally kicks ass too. She seems to have an innocence about her that is almost untouchable, but when shit gets real she’s strong and does what she needs to do to protect the ones she cares about.
Better When He’s Bad is action packed with fights, guns, cops, and sexy times. Of course it wouldn’t be a bad boy story from Jay without the fantastical sexy scenes. I mean they are hot too! They do it a lot of places too just saying you will be jealous of Dovie because Shane(Bax) is a totally hottie mc sexy pants.
So anyone who loves bad boys with tats who are sexier than life than you need to pick up Better When He’s Bad by the amazingly talented Jay Crownover. Better When He’s Bad will have you grabbing your B.O.B.’s and a fan because the scenes with Bax in them are seriously that hot. Expect to be taken on an emotional rollercoaster that will have you crying, laughing, and questioning everything you know about bad boys.
Another amazing job Jay and thank you for writing another amazing book!
Teaser: There are very few things that can kill the buzz of postsex mellowness. Getting coldcocked in the side of the head by a pair of knuckles that felt like they were encased in steel ranks right at the top of the list.”

See full review on my blog Robin can’t believe she woke up in her best friends boyfriends bed and hasn’t a clue as to what happened. All she knows is that she’s naked and Nathan is all too happy to cheat on his girlfriend again with her.
Now Robin stays far far away from alcohol, from boys, parties, and her friends. They don’t know what happened, but she does and she feels horrible. Trying to figure out a way to get out of the house she shares with them she sees no way out.
Phoenix just got out of prison and he has no place to go. His mother left without warning and got rid of all of his possessions. After dealing with her drug habit for so long Phoenix just wants to move on with his life.
They meet. Robin and Phoenix meet at the beginning of the book and immediately hit it off. While there is an attraction they start out as friends who have a common dislike of alcohol. Phoenix has never touched the stuff and Robin is living the life free and away from any form of drugs. They text, watch movies, picnic with each other and all that good stuff it’s a great friendship with the underlying’s of attraction.
Then the romance picks up and it’s freaking great. I loved Robin and Phoenix together. They both help each other out and call each other rout on their issues. They’re great together, both when they were friends and when they’re dating. The romance is HOTT like on fire, but they still do other things besides, well, each other and I liked that. It was like they were a real couple.
It’s not until later that Robin’s secret comes out to Phoenix and I so loved him for how he understanding he was and how he understood.
Phoenix is well swoon worthy doesn’t even begin to describe him. He has loads of issues but throughout the book you aren’t questioning what they are. He’s very up front about his issues and I liked that about him. He is also very lonely and when Robin offers him friendship it’s honestly the best thing ever for him because he’s never had that and I have to say that really made me like him even more.
“Oh damn, I was in trouble. If I had any sense at all, I would get the hell out of there and never come back. But a cactus isn’t going to tell a rainstorm to go f*ck itself. I had never had anyone offer me this sort of innocent friendship. I wanted it like the greedy motherfucker that I was.”
Robin is so sweet and innocent. She has some issues and the full extent of them we don’t really get to see until the end of the book but I have to say I loved the way the story and Robin developed throughout the book.
I loved this book for a couple reasons. One I’m straight edge and reading the New Adult of Adult genre there are not a lot of characters that don’t drink so I had an instant connection with both of the characters.
Two both of the characters grow as characters throughout the book. I really loved that. They both grew because they were together as friends and as a couple but they also were independent of each other and that helped them grow as well which I loved.
Three: realistic characters. I loved how realistic all the characters were in this story. I didn’t realize this was the third in the series when I bought it but I felt like I connected with all the characters anyway and I really enjoyed that.
Lastly the story was original. Well to me at least. I loved what happened at the end and how they grew and how it still wasn’t perfect and how the blow out happened with loss of friendship and disapproving parents. It was great.
All in all, I loved this book I think it was a great read. I could barely put it down for a second and when I had to I was thinking about what would happen on the next page. I would highly recommend this book for the amazing characters and all of the amazing plot twists that happen.
Teaser: I studied her face in the dark, wanting to memorize it, to sketch it later. She was beautiful. She was naïve. She felt like my reward for surviving jail. I stayed awake for an hour watching her, before drifting into oblivion.
Swoon: And of course, just to torture me, it felt as good as I had imagined. God. Those lips were plump and soft and nothing had ever felt so simple and good and important....more

Holy Propositions! Yes yes I know this review is late especially since I read this book the second it was uploaded on amazon.
Okay first off my favorite part of this story with Hallie and Bryan was the date in the park! Oh my goodness I loved it loved it loved it. Ducky!!!
There is so much to say but I don’t want to give anything away! Oh the frustration!!!
Part two takes place right where part one ends. Hallie walks right out of Bryans’ room and into well more danger. Getting saved by someone unlikely she gets into her best friend’s car and goes to a dangerous part of the city where her best friend lives. Dangerous doesn’t even begin to cover what’s going on where her best friend lives and Hallie wakes Maggie up and hightails it out of there.
Getting back to her house she walks in and Bryan is there and tells her ass hat boyfriend what’s what and leaves with Hallie taking her on a date and then back to his place. Bryan has secrets too and Hallie only has a little bit of time to save her friend before what she saw gets her killed.
Ugh that freaking ending! So mad!!! I hate hate hate her boyfriend. Such a douche bag who deserves to be kicked. Suck it Neil!!!
Bryan is really likeable. I have to say he definitely has a sensitive side that Hallie brings out. Not saying he doesn’t have a dangerous side because he definitely does and you will see it in the first couple pages just how dangerous he is.
I love how Hallie is around Bryan rather than with her jerk of an ex-boyfriend. She’s strong and more passionate with him and I really enjoy her when she’s around Bryan and even her best friend Maggie
Speaking of Maggie holy crap I can tell danger and secrets are brewing and I honestly can’t wait for the next installment.
Keep up the good work Holly!

I received a copy of Wounded Wings for an honest review.
Holy smoke! Shauna Allen has done it again! I fell in love with The Cupid Chronicles from the first book Inked by an Angel and that was it for me. I was in love. Shauna did not disappoint with Wounded Wings and from the first two sentences I kid you not I was in love.
Elijah is a fallen angel. After cutting off his wings he tries to find redemption and ends up right in loves lap. Naomi gave up her dream of nursing to help her adoptive mother Vi with her bakery. Enter Michael and destiny and BAM you have a fantastic read that will have you reading through the night.
I loved the whole book honest to goodness. I loved how both characters were scarred and how both of the main characters connected to each other and how they continued to be all “I’m not into you” thing.
Oh oh and the ending the ending! How they brought in the characters from the other books and how it hinted a certain someone will be finding love in the future! So freaking happy.
The characters ALL of them were amazing even the creepy magazine guy because he made Elijah jealous which was totally awesome. Elijah was such a sweet heart always caring and helping people without really trying to. Naomi was such a strong character and always so caring when it came to the people she loved she is definitely one of my favorite female characters.
All in all, get the book. I love how all the characters like God and the Angels seem so human. While they see past to the divine thing it wasn’t overpowering the book which I loved. I’m not hugely religious so you’d think I would have some reserves on that but honestly Shauna Allen writes it so amazingly I honestly couldn’t imagine not loving this series.
Thank you Shauna Allen for sending me a copy of you amazing book! Definitely one of the best one’s all year!
Favorite Quote: "It doesn't make me uncomfortable. Just confused." "Confused?" "Yes" "Why?" "Well, because when you kissed me the first time? His eyes darkened, hooking her. "I was in no pain and yet, I feel the same." She swallowed. "What do you feel?" "I feel..." He shifted his weight and huffed a breath as if frustrated with himself. He gazed into her eyes with a dark unsmiling gaze. "I want to kiss you."...more

Almost my Arrangement fan peeps I got one word for you: Spanking.
I know right now I know what you’re thinking “Spanking where?” and I will give you a hint it is someplace I am 1,000,000% certain if I were ever spanked in said place there would be tears.
Anyway onto the rest of the book and away from the hot and heave. Sean is a dream. He’s all sexual and caring and yummy, you know him being his usual but vulnerable. Lovers of Sean will fall in love with him even more.
Avery is proving more and more just how perfect for Sean she is with well you know spanking…but there’s other stuff too like standing up for him and constantly taking care of him no matter what. Love you Avery!
Okay so I am biracial and when there are characters who aren’t just Caucasian I get excited so when I thought H.M. Ward pulled a “kill the racial girl off first thing” I was not happy. However, BAM! No disappointment for me. Fans you know what I’m talking about! Love you Mel!
So…should you start reading the series if you haven’t started yet? Yes! Will this series be full of fun and surprises? Yes. Will you want to continually tear your hair out at the end of each installment. Abso-freaking-lutely. Love this series and a p.s. to H.M. Ward: The Arrangement #13 can come out like today please! Great job as usual!
Favorite Quote: "Asshat." That makes him laugh, full dimples and all. Sean must be hysterically tired because that wasn't all that funny. "I'll wear your ass any way you'll let me."
Love this quote. When I read it to my boyfriend he told me if he were to wear my butt as a hat his neck would break. *sigh*...more

Abuse: In You Are Mine the abuse of woman andCheck out my original review, and rating on my blog
I received a copy of You Are Mine for an honest review.
Abuse: In You Are Mine the abuse of woman and children and pretty much anyone who isn’t a male wizard is the norm. If anyone steps out of line they could be killed, beaten, raped, or become one of the tarnished where even then you can still be abused. Serena is hexed, beaten, and threatened often and so is everyone in her family.
Suppressed Women: Women in this story are supposed to be child bearers and a way for men to gain more power as a wizard. That’s it. Cooking, cleaning, and so on are the only purposes for women. They have no say in who they get to marry and are honestly passed around looking good until someone young or old wants them. When they step out of line they’re beaten, they can only agree with what any man says and are not supposed to have their own thoughts or feelings. Sadly many of the women who have been so beaten and suppressed their entire lives find it hard to cope when a man treats them fairly or cares about them in any way. It’s very sad and disheartening.
Murder: There is a lot of death and killing and attempts and killing in You Are Mine. It brought about a lot of suspense which made this novel all the better. If you couldn’t tell from the previous point’s women are killed, often in this story as use of sacrifice. In games men/ wizards are killed which honestly works out in Serena’s favor so while death is bad it does bring Serena a lot of good fortune.
Magic: Only men can use magic and they hold all the power in society over every single thing people can and cannot do. Magic is used for simple things like temperate, dress designs, and so on. Or it’s used for killing others, maiming, hurting, you name it magic can do it.
Arranged Marriage: You Are Mine centers around Serena who is engaged to marry one man until an event that lands her in the arms of the “Savages” who are supposed to be worse than the men Serena already lives with. Like I said before women have no say in who they marry but Serena’s arranged marriage with the Savage Zade turns into a huge scandal that definitely makes the story all the more interesting.
Overall Thoughts: You need to get this book. It’s absolutely amazing and one of the best I have read this year. You Are Mine has an amazing set of characters that worked their ways into my heart and while the world they lived in was harsh and cruel the characters made it amazing. Janeal Falor is an amazing writer and I cannot wait to read more of her work. You Are Mine drew me in from the very first pages and left me wanting even after I finished. Totally inspiring novel and I am so excited there are going to be more works done. I loved all the characters especially Serena and Zade. I loved the suspense and the, the action, and the mystery of the entire world surrounding Serena. Couldn’t love this book more if I tried.
Rating: Perfection and couldn't be better. This is like a 5/5 but better.
Thank you so much Janeal Falor for sending me a copy of your book....more

Sweet baby jesus the next book needs to come out like yesterday!
I received a copy of Mystery Rises for an honest review.
Shadow and all of his yumminess: Swoon Shadow is even sexier in Mystery Rises than he was in Mystery Falls. He’s more protective and a little possessive over Samantha than he was especially since his brother shows up. Man oh man would I just love to see those sexy boys in person. Anyway I digress. Sadly a lot of the book is without Shadow for a couple of reasons….well mainly one: Samantha’s dead family sucks butt. Back to Shadow he changes a lot in this novel and I loved it because since he’s so old you wouldn’t think he would be he is definitely a better character and boyfriend in this book.
The Deep Sting of Betrayal: Someone betrays Samantha and Shadow and I know who it is. I was super excited that Marilyn and the story kept me on my feet until the betrayer was revealed and the epilogue where it give a hint as to what was going to happen next I was like “You (insert profanity here)!” I knew it I knew it I knew it. Sorry but when you read Mystery Rises which you should totally do by the way you will know what I am talking about because the person who sucks butt you will not like from the beginning and when it’s confirmed who it is let’s just say you’ll be a tad shocked at how far the person went to betray someone.
Samantha: Samantha and her life are kind of in a rut while Shadow is gone. She lives day to day, week to week until Shadow comes home. I was worried it would get old reading about her waiting for Shadow to come home but Mystery Rises and Samantha definitely hold some surprises I did not expect when it came to her character. Samantha is definitely a stronger more confident no nonsense character in this book than she was in the first novel. A lot happens and I love how Samantha takes everything in stride.
The Sexy Stuff: Let’s just say my complaint in the last book about lack of swoon worthy material is completely out the window in Mystery Rises. The swoon is so on and I love it. Lots of kissing and some other fun things I did not see coming. Yeah you know what I’m talking about. “Fun stuff!” *wink wink*
After I Finished: Well when I finished Mystery Rises I was like “Where the heck is the next book?!?!” Seriously that ending was a total cliffhanger and I am so ready to dive off the edge of said cliff to find out what happens next. Marilyn definitely did a great job with this series and I cannot wait to read what comes next.
Thank you Marilyn Phillips for sending me a copy of Mystery Rises and you know for everything else you do! ...more

I received an ARC of The Proposition for my honest review.
Eeep Eeep Eeep!!!
First off Bryan Ferro is a complete and total ars hat! Seriously! I would love to kick his sexy behind (because of coarse he is sexy) hard! Ugh what a butt head. How H.M. Ward continuously manages to make the most erotic, sexy, yummy…… wealthy and infuriating men is beyond me. Ugh I seriously just want to kick him where the sun don’t shine because he is an ars hole (is it bad to say I think I’m in love with another Ferro?) Honestly though, I would tell him exactly where to shove is proposition, which now that I think about it the title totally makes sense now.
Hallie is so cute! Awkward, feisty, and adorable just the way I love H.M. Ward’s female characters andjust what every Ferro needs. Kick his butt Hallie!!!
Needless to say I am freaking in love with Holly’s new series which as usual I have to wait….AGAIN for the second one!!! Just when it was getting good BAM end of the book. H.M. Ward love to torture me! Why Holly Why!?!?! All I ever did was love you 8(
On a more positive note love this cover. Super sexy and I am so totally into this new series. Bring on more Hallie and Bryan Ferro!!!
P.S.: Neil needs to go! This is a sexy book Neil not an ice cream shop that only sells vanilla cones! He is a jerk off and I would love to say “See you a-hole!!!”
Should I give you a hint as to what happens in this story since I am pretty sure my rant is over? Yes? Ok so Hallie’s life has just turned upside down and she needs to get her feelings out. So she writes it all out and publishes it. Now she’s wanted everywhere for her amazing book that while she says is fiction well really isn’t. It’s her life, her life with Bryan Ferro the only man she’s ever loved and now he’s set on ruining her if she won’t have sex with him.
See what I mean about the proposition making sense now?
Love this new installment to the Ferro movie and I definitely need to get some more of this amazing series ASAP!...more

Nadia Lake lives a life where everything is under scrutiny. The way she acts, talks, dresses, everything. Nadia knows she must do everything she can to make sure her position is never compromised in society nor with her fiancé and best friend Nathanial Hayes heir to the most powerful corporate building in the world, but that’s exactly what happens after she leaves Nate in the hall with his boyfriend and is found murdered the next morning. Now Nadia is under scrutiny of the entire public and Dirt Mosely a man who will stop at nothing to see that Kurt Bishop Nate’s secret boyfriend is found guilty for his supposed killing of Nate that night, even threaten to kill and torture anyone to get to the truth. With Nadia placed between choosing what’s best for her family and her friendship with Nate Nadia choses family at the risk of losing Nate forever. When Nate wakes up as a replica he knows he must have died but he can’t remember how because two weeks of his memory are gone and nobody knows what’s happened. After talking to his father he tells him that Kurt killed him and they are searching for him. Nate however knows Kurt couldn’t have killed him and goes out searching for him in the Basement were the “lowlifes” live. In his search to find the truth everything is revealed and Nate finds out it wasn’t his gay lover that killed him, but someone much closer. With Nadia’s life in danger and the culprits someone no one ever expected Nadia and Nate must team up to stop them no matter the cost.
Wow!! Honestly I am super surprised I liked Replica as much as I do no offence to Jenna Black but I didn’t very much like Glimmerglass and I was sure Replica would go much the same way. Man oh man was I ever wrong. Replica had me on the edge of my seat the entire story with its part sci-fi part dystopian feel. Throughout the story I definitely felt more connected to Nadia especially since I felt she grew more as a character than Nate. Nadia went from timid girl who wouldn’t stand up for herself against anyone to taking down a corporate machine, it was total kick arsery! Nate does make a comeback and has some growth but eh he wasn’t necessarily my favorite character in the whole world. I love the fact that Replica didn’t go as planned in my head, after reading the synopsis I had this whole idea of how the story was going to go and the actual story just blew me away with surprises. I mean come on a girl who is best friends with a secret gay guy whom she has to marry? How often do you see that in books?
While I enjoyed Replica overall I had a hard time relating or even liking Nate until the end of the book. Nate is a real brat and has no real regard for anyone else’s feelings or situation. While he is burdened with a lot of secrets like being gay he shares no sympathy for those with situations that are worse than his even though he says he does. I think he made a great come around in the end and I think he will be a great character to read from in the next installment and throughout the trilogy but it was a long journey through the book to get him to the point of any growth.
Dual POV Everyone on my blog who has read any of my reviews knows just how much I love dual or triple pov stories. While I admit sometimes there is a limit on how many I still love them all the same and Jenna Black definitely chose some great characters to have to dual pov with. Nate and Nadia are so completely different and I think without both of their perspectives coming in Replica wouldn’t have been nearly as good just because of how much would have had to have been explained and how much we would have missed if both perspectives weren’t told.
Overall, Replica was a complete shock that will definitely leave readers wondering what will happen next. If I could relate Replica to anything it would be the movie iRobot. If you’ve seen the movie it’s kind of like that but not completely. Anyway I would highly suggest Replica to any YA readers to want to have a taste of the sci-fi genre. Jenna Black definitely did an amazing job with Replica and I know I will be reading the next installment Resistance....more

No lie right nowOMG OMG OMG tears are about to come streaming down my cheeks because I NEED the third book in this series in my hands like right now. I received a copy of Burned In Shadows for an honest review.
Holy toaster cakes I am in love with twins. Two very old and powerful twins who can read minds, turn into terrible beasts, and bleed blue blood. I know sounds sexy right? They are super delicious and I was wishing many times I was Bells (Belinda), especially during the naughty parts.
I was first introduced to Royce, Ronin, and Bells in Enslaved in Shadows and I wasn’t sure what I was going to think of them in Burned in Shadows. I was in for a surprise because wow all three were truly amazing characters with their dark and deadly pasts and devotion to each other. The twins are intense and always intent on pleasing Bells which will make readers jealous because wow they are yummy.
A twist in this book happens as Mr. Black a.k.a. Draven have gone all dark side and can’t remember his past or his mate and child. When an attack at the Shadow Unit brings Jes face to face with her mate who attacks her and then leaves, the unit sets out to bring him home. Jes goes undercover and sets out to make her man remember who she is.
Burned in Shadows is an intense and fast paced sequel that definitely left me craving more. After I put down the finished book I immediately cried because the third books release date is seriously far away.
The characters are all amazing. Jes is such a strong no nonsense character in Burned in Shadows and she is no longer afraid of everything that happened in her past. I fell in love with her character all over again because while she kicked major butt in the last book she is even more awesome in this Shadow Unit Sequel. Draven/ Mr. Black was irritating and I just wanted to shake him because he’s supposed to be a good guy but he wasn’t but he was. So many conflicting feelings he had but I still loved him. I didn’t think I was going to like Ronin because in the first book he seemed so broody but he was fantastic and my favorite out of the twins. Royce definitely has a hidden dark side which would be scary to behold but he was a great and protective character and I loved that. I knew I would love Bells. She’s sassy and strong but still sensitive and likeable. All in all every character in the Shadow Unit series as amazingly relatable and well written and that made for a great read.
I cannot wait for the next book. I hope it comes soon. Tigris Eden made a masterpiece with the Shadow Unit series so far and I cannot wait to see what she will do next. You need to pick up this series if you already haven’t.
Favorite Quote: "Even if the entire team found out Ronin enjoyed Despicable Me as much as Faith did, no one would say a word. They'd watched the movie at least a dozen times. She'd caught Ronin imitation Gru's voice."
I received a copy of Enslaved in Shadows for an honest review.
Alpha Male: Davin Stone is one hot hunky alpha male werewolf. In the first encounter of him he gives off the presence of a strong male and boy oh boy does that prove right time and time again in any and all circumstances of his life. He protects and loves Jes and her daughter with everything he has. He takes charge especially the major action scenes when someone is in danger. In an argument or in bed he dominates and it is oh so sexy.
What Hurts the Most: Jes believes she’s damaged goods after what her ex-husband Marcus put her through. When she ran for help with what we would call the Supernatural Police or Shadow Unit to get justice against what he’s doing to the supernatural and herself she runs straight into the arms of the man who originally broken her heart after a no-name on night stand. With Davin doing everything he can to knock down her defenses and mend her broken heart. Jes after being hurt for so long also needs to decided to let him back in and to make a future together with her daughter.
Strong Female Characters: I have a strong love for all strong female characters and I think what I love about them most is that they always underestimate themselves with their strength. Jes definitely does that in Enslaved In Shadows and I loved her all the more for it.
Dual POV Action: If you have ever been on my blog before you know I swoon when I know or read a book with dual POV’s. It’s was definitely icing on the cake for this book because I loved hearing Davin’s side with his alpha male voice along with his werewolf side. Sometimes they came together and other times they butted heads and I loved it. I loved seeing his interaction with Jes after so long and just everything about Davin is so strong but also so loving and it totally made me fall in love with his character. Jes’s POV was exactly what I expected. She fights with herself a lot of the time on her feelings for Davin but we all know who holds to key to her heart and Soul.
Diversity and Awesomesauce writing: I have never read anything before by Tigris Eden but from the first pages I was hooked. I loved the fact that Jes was biracial because there are not enough books out there with biracial characters. So woot woot to that because that was another reason I totally fell in love with Jes. Tigris Eden made a fantastic world with so many amazing characters and it is so genius the way all the characters played together and there were so many unexpected twists and turns I never knew what to expect. I so loved it.
Holy Cliffhangers Batman! Tigris Eden definitely leaves readers with the biggest cliffhanger of all time. Literally! You will honestly never see it coming and it will be a huge shocker. I was completely left with the need to go and find the sequel and start it as soon as I finished it.
All in all I am in love with the Shadow Unit Series and Tigris Eden is making it on my favorite authors list. Enslaved in Shadows is action packed and full of surprises. The supernatural world clashes with gods and humans you know it has to be the ride or read of a lifetime....more
