Holy smokes just when I was thinking the Marked Men Series couldn’t possibly get any better Rome comes out and blows me away!
So I love Rule. He’s totally the guy I would see on the street and have drool dribbling down my face. Rome on the other hand is the guy I would take home to my momma. He’s the perfect guy. Patient, trustworthy, takes accountability, protective I could honestly go on and on about how awesome and breathtaking the service man is.
Rome comes home from his final tour in the service and now everything he used to know has changed. Before he left a secret about his brother was revealed and now he can’t get over that to talk to his parents. All he’s ever wanted to do was protect his family, but now they don’t need him. Rule has Shaw, Remy’s gone, and he doesn’t know how to interact with his parents. Not knowing how to deal he starts making bad decision that lead him right into Cora.
I love Cora! I was honestly worried that she was going to unsure and dogging Rome because she wasn’t sure she liked him. Instead I got the Cora from the rest of the books. Strong, hard headed, and even minded. I really enjoyed her strength. Cora definitely proves she loves everyone around her and would protect them all with her life, but she also had a vulnerability she didn’t have in the other books.
Rome the book was definitely a favorite of mine. Rome (the person) was such a great and realistic character. I fell in love with him and Cora and this entire story just as easily as I did the first two books. I enjoyed how the story always had twists and I never really knew what was coming. There are so many surprises in this book and at the end the amazing hint of what’s to come in the upcoming books I honest can’t wait. Jay Crownover is definitely an amazing author and a new favorite.
If you haven’t read this series yet well you shouldn’t be reading this review, but if you are you need to read this amazing series asap. Rule, Jet, and Rome are great books with swoon worthy guys and relatable female characters. Amazing, flawless, awesomesauce, I don’t know I love this series. All the characters are so relatable and real it was impossible for me NOT to fall in love.
Rome is perfect and I can’t wait for what Jay Crownover has in store for the rest of the series.

Okay if you’re familiar with the Marked Men Series then you’re familiar with the characters in this second installment.
Ayden asked for one night with Jet a year ago and he declined saying she’s too good for a one night stand with him. Now a year later Ayden and Jet are living together with Cora. Shaw’s moved out and living with Rule and Ayden is dating a boy who wears sweater vest while pining for Jet.
Day after day Ayden and Jet move around each other pretending they have no feelings for each other. Ayden wants to put her past behind her but everything in her wants Jet and for that alone Ayden can’t be with him. Jet has put Ayden on a pedestal so high there’s no way he could reach her on his best day.
When Ayden finally realizes what she wants a.k.a. Jet they begin to be in a sort of a relationship. Hey both had issues from the past that they’re running from though and the past isn’t staying hidden any longer.
Bikers, drugs, sex, and music! I seriously loved Jet and Ayden’s story. The whole story had so many twists I never knew what was going to happen next. Jet is definitely sweet and vulnerable to a lot more than Rule and I liked that while they’re friends they’re still different.
I loved Jet both the book and the boy. Ayden is amazing too and I like how they both saw things in the each other that the other didn’t see.
Cannot wait for the next installment to find out who falls in love next! The ending was phenomenal and I was so glad it was a happy ending and I got to find out how Shaw and Rule’s relationship is progressing.
Great sequel to the series and I am sure you will love it. Amazing job Jay Crownover!
Great Quote: “And that’s how it was. We walked the same way, no more running, no more fear, no more secrets. Just me and her, in sync and together, even though we came from two separate sides of the spectrum. I was her perfect future and she was my perfect love and that was how every good love song should end. So it ends....at least for now.” ...more

Holy Propositions! Yes yes I know this review is late especially since I read this book the second it was uploaded on amazon.
Okay first off my favorite part of this story with Hallie and Bryan was the date in the park! Oh my goodness I loved it loved it loved it. Ducky!!!
There is so much to say but I don’t want to give anything away! Oh the frustration!!!
Part two takes place right where part one ends. Hallie walks right out of Bryans’ room and into well more danger. Getting saved by someone unlikely she gets into her best friend’s car and goes to a dangerous part of the city where her best friend lives. Dangerous doesn’t even begin to cover what’s going on where her best friend lives and Hallie wakes Maggie up and hightails it out of there.
Getting back to her house she walks in and Bryan is there and tells her ass hat boyfriend what’s what and leaves with Hallie taking her on a date and then back to his place. Bryan has secrets too and Hallie only has a little bit of time to save her friend before what she saw gets her killed.
Ugh that freaking ending! So mad!!! I hate hate hate her boyfriend. Such a douche bag who deserves to be kicked. Suck it Neil!!!
Bryan is really likeable. I have to say he definitely has a sensitive side that Hallie brings out. Not saying he doesn’t have a dangerous side because he definitely does and you will see it in the first couple pages just how dangerous he is.
I love how Hallie is around Bryan rather than with her jerk of an ex-boyfriend. She’s strong and more passionate with him and I really enjoy her when she’s around Bryan and even her best friend Maggie
Speaking of Maggie holy crap I can tell danger and secrets are brewing and I honestly can’t wait for the next installment.
Keep up the good work Holly!
Favorite Quote from my favorite scene: “I got attacked by a duck.” I sound shocked. “No babe, a duck tried to make out with your ankle. I’ll have to try that later.”...more

I received a copy of Lightpoints for an honest review.
Lightpoints is definitely a unique story about people that come back from near death experiences with powers. The story mostly follows Amanda and her husband Chris. Amanda and Chris are adorable together and I really enjoyed reading about them.
Lightpoints definitely had some twists I didn’t expect and that was exciting. There was a lot of heart wrenching moments as well as some action packed scenes which made the story more interesting.
I did enjoy the story overall but I think the writing style was a little difficult for me to get into because of what felt like endless description.
Overall, Lightpoints is an interesting read. The writing style, the story, and the characters will definitely be a surprise and I really enjoyed it.
Thank you Peter for sending me a copy of your book!...more

What happened: Layla’s date for her ex-fiancé’s wedding has cancelled on her. While at her job Seth her ex-fiance’s best friend comes in and offers to take her. What she didn’t expect by saying yes was her own engagement because Seth claims they’re getting married on Christmas. Now Seth only has a couple weeks to convince Layla that he’s the guy for her.
Overall A December Wedding was alright. Very predictable with no steam. Layla wasn’t my favorite character since she was so rude to Seth for no reason although I was happy she apologized for it. Seth was a great character, sexy, sweet, and thoughtful.

After having to leave school for three semesters when her mother was murdered and her father killed himself Lorrie is back at school. Coming back to school early Lorrie takes a walk that ends with her being taken home with an extremely hot guy. When the guy goes to take a shower Lorrie runs away hoping she’ll never see him again.
Later that week, she goes out with her best friend on a double date and ends up face to face with Hunter a cage fighter. After ditching her date Hunter and Lorrie make a pact to be friends. Being friends with Hunter turned out to be easy and she enjoys spending time with him. He doesn’t pry into her life and is easy to be around.
When Lorrie goes to spend time with Hunter on Valentine’s Day things end up getting hot and heavy and the attraction Lorrie has tried hard to repress comes to the forefront and soon they begin dating, but Lorrie and Hunter’s secrets are quickly becoming something they may not be able to beat to be together.
I really loved most of this book. Hunter and Lorrie were adorable when they were hanging out and being friends. Learning about each other and them just being them was absolutely the best part of the book. Lorrie and Hunter had great banter.
It really made me mad when I was reading was AFTER they got together. All they cared about was having sex. They stopped studying, stopped hanging out with friends and being real characters. It made me mad because that was complete crap! It made me not like the characters anymore.
That ending with Hunter’s POV and finding out his secret and everything made up for it though. Can’t wait for the next installment because I enjoyed a lot of this story and can’t wait to find out what happens with the characters.

Sex Piston the book and the character were both a shock and I enjoyed the surprise I got after starting the book.
Sex Piston loathes Stud the new club leader. He affects her in ways she’s never been affected by any other man before. When she decides to not give an inch to Stud or any of the other men in the club Stud decides to take matters into his own hands.
I have to say there was a lot of stuff that happened in Sex Piston I didn’t see coming at all. I loved Sex Piston and her feisty attitude and how she didn’t take crap from anyone and didn’t allow people to do anything to her if she didn’t allow it. She’s super loyal and definitely a great character.
I had only one issue with this book and that was how it kept switching pov’s from Stud’s to Sex Piston’s without warning. It made me mad because I liked being in Stud’s mind and then suddenly I was reading from Sex Piston’s and I had no warning.
I highly suggest this book. It’s a quick read and will definitely take you on an interesting ride....more
Fan-freaking-tastic! Review to come soon! I honestly wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I started reading about Cora Carmack’s new book All LinedFan-freaking-tastic! Review to come soon! I honestly wasn’t sure what I was getting into when I started reading about Cora Carmack’s new book All Lined Up and I could see the book already had a huge fan base even before the book was released. That made me nervous. Popular books and I tend to not mix for some reason. I should not have fretted because All Lined Up was amazing and nothing like I expected.
Dallas is so over football. Her dad has coached multiple college and high school football teams, taking them from the bottom to the top and then they move on to another school. Dallas’ first boyfriend played football and when they broke up she was done, or so she thought. The first night at school she meets Carson who is all kinds of hot and leaves her wanting.
Carson is having a hard time fitting in at Rusk. He’s a transfer so none of the guys respect him and he needs to be better if he wants to stay at the school without making his parents give up more than they already have. He needs a scholarship and he won’t get that from his grades. He knows there can be no distractions but running into Dallas turns everything upside down.
I am honestly in love with this series now. Cora Carmack does not disappoint with her new series.
Dallas and Carson were great characters to read about. Carson is sweet and dedicated. Even when he knows he’s not supposed to be with Dallas he finds a way to be with her in any way he can. I honestly loved their relationship. They study and do homework together, they watch movies and do normal couple things together which was adorable and made their relationship all the more believable.
Both characters really grow from amazing characters to awesome characters. Where Dallas is scared to love and be vulnerable she learns to be herself and comes out of her shell, with the help of Carson of coarse. Carson thinks he’ll never be good enough but over time he learns to have more confidence within himself, which I mean who doesn’t love a hot confident funny guy? I know I do!
I honestly loved this book. Everything about this story made everything so realistic and enjoyable. I loved the humor and constantly found myself laughing while reading. My heart would ache when things got hard and I could hardly put this amazing story down for a second. All Lined Up is an amazing addition to the rising New Adult genre and I can’t wait for the next installment.
Teaser: “I can deny myself all I want, but one thing I cannot deny is just how fucking gorgeous this girl is. And exactly the kind of distraction I'm supposed to be staying away from.”
Swoon: “I swallow and stare and swallow again, because dear, sweet Jesus riding a unicorn, he’s perfect. Hard contoured muscles slope towards the broad plane of his chest.” (I know right! Doesn’t that sound wonderful?)...more
Holy wow! I completely love this book. Honestly I’m surprised since I wasn’t in love with Ms. Scott’s Dante novels, but wow! Of Fire and Flood was just perfect.
After Tella’s brother Cody gets sick and the doctors have no hope in finding a cure for him. When Tella gets a package on her bed mysteriously inviting her to the Brimstone Bleed Tella takes off to get an egg and then to the train station to find a way to get a cure for her brother. What she never expected was for her egg to hatch with powers or to wake up in a race in the wilderness with hundred of other people surrounding her in an environment she is so not prepared to survive in. Now Tella has three months to survive in four different environments if she has any chance of saving her brother.
At first I didn’t really like Tella. I’m not sure exactly what it was but Tella and I didn’t immediately connect. Tella gave off the vibe of the popular prissy girl we all want to avoid in high school. She cares a lot about her looks and material items. After the book really got going though the girly girl layer of Tella peeled back and shows a gentle and caring Tella who will do anything for the people she cares about. While Tella is participating in the Brimstone Bleed that’s when I really fell in love with her character. She becomes fierce and determined and majorly kicks ass as far as I’m concerned. Sure sometimes she thought about shoes and make-up instead of surviving, but that’s her character and I think a complete lack of that would have really not been true to her character. While she has her flaws I think her character growth and fierce loyalty are what won her over for me. Totally Team Tella!
I know in a race to find a cure for a loved one you wouldn’t think there would be romance in the air but come on peeps this is YA there’s gotta be romance in there somewhere. Guy is all kinds of sexy. He knows all different ways to survive and while at first he seems like the cold stand -offish type he really is sweet. Fire and Flood definitely had many moments where I was like “COME ON AND FREAKING KISS” but I have to say it was worth the wait! The romance is not hot and heavy or anything like that. It’s sweet and gentle and while fierce in it’s own right I think it fit the characters and the novel perfectly in how it wasn’t too much too fast. Plus I mean they’re in the middle of running for their lives so getting hot and heavy would have been awkward.
Tella teams up with s group of people who both her and I grew to love. They become a family of sorts who take care of each other and in the end all care for on another.
Honestly some of the scenes in this book were freaking horrible and just mind- boggling. Some of the people are so twisted and horrible it really was insane how people grouped together in a lets team up and work together versus lets kill everything and everyone that gets in our way. Plus there were leaches and people losing limbs and just wow. I think the gruesome aspects truly made this book even better and all the most realistic.
I loved the Pandora’s. Think of Pokemon as that’s basically the right idea for what a Pandora is. They’re so amazing! Even the more evilish one’s I truly grew to love and felt for them. I loved the idea of the contestants each having one. They were definitely a surprise and I grew to love them as much as I loved the characters. They’re an important part of the books story and Madox was freaking adorable. I’m not sure I would be able to let mine go if I had one.
Fire and Flood is full of intense fast suspenseful scenes that left me feeling so many emotions I honestly can not hope to express them all in this review and sound even remotely coherent. Fire and Flood is in my opinion worlds different then the Dante novels. Victoria Scott is honestly an amazing writer and Fire and Flood definitely proved that. This novel honestly reminds me a lot of Hunger Games so if you’re a fan then I believe you’ll definitely fall in love with Fire and Flood.
I loved this book. I honestly can’t gush enough about it. A little slow in the beginning for me and Tella being a tad annoying also in the beginning but the rest of the book was fan-freaking-tastic. I couldn’t tear myself away from this book for a minute once it started picking up. The writing and the characters and just everything was amazing. Plus Guy is a total babe so I mean who doesn’t love a guy with abs who also kicks major butt and is smart? He’s like the total package deal. Seriously though if you haven’t read this book yet, you need to, like yesterday. It was amazing or amazeballs!
Thank you Scholastic Press and Netgalley for this amazing book!
Teaser: “Maybe it’s the way he’s been acting since he saw the talking device, or the weird way he whispered with my mom before dinner, or even the way he nodded to Cody like there was something big the two of them were hiding. Regardless, I decide to move in closer without revealing myself.”
Swoon: “Guy pulls me closer and kisses me deeper until there are only him and me and the feel of our skin. I shiver as his hands move up my back and wrap around my neck. His tongue slides into my mouth and heat floods my body.”...more
I received a copy of Wounded Wings for an honest review.
Holy smoke! Shauna Allen has done it again! I fell in love with The Cupid Chronicles from the first book Inked by an Angel and that was it for me. I was in love. Shauna did not disappoint with Wounded Wings and from the first two sentences I kid you not I was in love.
Elijah is a fallen angel. After cutting off his wings he tries to find redemption and ends up right in loves lap. Naomi gave up her dream of nursing to help her adoptive mother Vi with her bakery. Enter Michael and destiny and BAM you have a fantastic read that will have you reading through the night.
I loved the whole book honest to goodness. I loved how both characters were scarred and how both of the main characters connected to each other and how they continued to be all “I’m not into you” thing.
Oh oh and the ending the ending! How they brought in the characters from the other books and how it hinted a certain someone will be finding love in the future! So freaking happy.
The characters ALL of them were amazing even the creepy magazine guy because he made Elijah jealous which was totally awesome. Elijah was such a sweet heart always caring and helping people without really trying to. Naomi was such a strong character and always so caring when it came to the people she loved she is definitely one of my favorite female characters.
All in all, get the book. I love how all the characters like God and the Angels seem so human. While they see past to the divine thing it wasn’t overpowering the book which I loved. I’m not hugely religious so you’d think I would have some reserves on that but honestly Shauna Allen writes it so amazingly I honestly couldn’t imagine not loving this series.
Thank you Shauna Allen for sending me a copy of you amazing book! Definitely one of the best one’s all year!
