Well this was a storm of a book for me and a fantastic read.
Although this book is the seventh in Jack Parlabane series, it read well on its own and was a brilliant introduction into the author’s works. I will most certainly look out for more.
This drama/thriller/crime novel is an intelligent piece of work and has twists and turns throughout. Just as you start really disliking one character, you find out more about them and like them again. ...more

Stella has fallen in love with the devil. She seems to have everyone falling in love with her. And she is finally starting to understand how high the stakes really are for winning/losing the Acquisition trials.
The story is certainly interesting and although a bit twisted it is written in a captivating style and I actually cannot wait for the third book to come out....more
When I started reading this book I wasn’t sure about it at all. I found it a slow starter and I didn’t really understand the concept of it. But I am glad I kept on going as this is actually a very intelligent book and I think any age group from young adult up would enjoy its very current content.
This futuristic novel concentrates on high level technology that enhances an already high human intelligence. The idea of genetically modified humans isn’t new, but it is certainly taken to the next level here with the powerful brain implants called MindWave (only for the riches) that allow the person to access all area of their brain and basically live in the world of data and internet – or Ether as they called it here. ...more

This book might be twisted at times, but it's an interesting read. The concept of this huge kind of secret society and a completely different and twisted world of some very rich people isn't new - secret societies have existed for centuries, but this book takes it that one step further.
Yes there is pain involved and some chapters that are uncomfortable to read, but let's be honest there are some sick people in the world and so this to me is quite believable.
I actually liked Sinclair's character. He is the ultimate bad guy, arrogant, selfish and heartless. But is he? Not really, he just has the world on his shoulders and the only one (apart from his mysterious mother) that knows the full consequences of a failure.
Stella comes across like a strong character, hard to break, woman of opinion and she doesn't hold back in letting Sinclair know how she feels about him.
I felt a little sorry for both Stella and Sinclair towards the end and I am looking forward to reading the next book to see where the story will move on to....more

This was OK book for me. What that means is that it was easy to read summer holiday book type of thing.
I liked Nichole as a character and to an extent I liked Leanne but I hated the way she let Nikolai try to rule over her at times. The man were a little bit of a let down. Jake behaved like a spoiled brat throwing his toys out of a pram and Sean - well Jake just followed his footsteps.
I liked Rocco but felt that he could have played a little bit harder to get for such a gruff of a man.
So three stars overall. This won't stop me reading another book by this author....more
Thank you to the author for giving me access to this book for an honest review.
Firstly I though this was a book, but this is actually a short story.

I have read quite a few memoirs in my life so I was interested to read this one, but somehow it just didn't do it for me. I feel terrible for saying this bearing in mind the subject of this book but I have to judge this as a reader and think to myself 'Would I want to read another story/book by this author' and unfortunately at the moment the answer is no. This was more like reading a journalism student's first article.
I think with time the author can settle into a good writing style, but it needs work esecially if you pick up this ind of genre.
We are so familiar with these stories from news and papers and I truly believe that to do justice to such a sad and tragic story, you should give it more than 30 pages.
This is quite an inspiring book and it was interesting to be given the insight into the life of a Gypsy family whatever the discomfort it gave me reading some of those lines. Well done to Mikey Walsh for coming out and standing up to the abuse he has endured. This is a well written account, the language flows very well and keep the reader going right from the start to the last page of the book....more
I always feel a little naught when I pick up a book that's been labelled as erotica. To me that genre used to mean a book full of sex but no proper substance. I have now changed my mind.
Beth was a very likeable character. Strong woman with a weak past. She knows what she wants and really seem to be the more grown up person in the story.
Dylan started off as an arrogant I-am-your-love-god kind of guy, but soon turned out to be the more romantic of the too. He turned a little too quickly for me - I was expecting him to play a little more hard-to-get character.
Both characters had a sad story in the past that shaped them into who there were when they met and thanks to those good back stories the book was made more believable.
I always look at books I can relate too, that I can believe in. characters should be easy to imagine and the paths they take should be natural and I think this books ticks the boxes.
This is a quick read romance well told I Louise Bay is an another I will look out for. And as I love baking too it was just a little more personal.

This book was filed under erotica genre on NetGalley, but upon reading the synopsis I thought there might be a little more to that. And I am so glad I asked for access for this book as it turned out so much more then what the genre suggested.
It’s an intricate story of colours, design, architecture, senses and love. Both Killian and Vessa have secrets that literally stop them living, but a specialist matchmaker with an insight into people’s soul (or so it seems), brings them together knowing how good they will be for each other. The attraction is obvious from the moment they first see each other.
Vessa accepts working for Killian designing the house he has built. Her ideas are so wild and almost supernatural and are described by the author so well, I found them easy to imagine. I fell in love with the house myself.
Their love story is special, sensual and really lovely to watch develop. They are both very likable characters and this book was a joy to read.

I have always enjoyed Cecelia Ahern’s books, she is most certainly one of my favourite authors and so I was felt privileged to have an access to the ARC of her latest book.
There are some flaws (ironically) to this book – the start is quite slow and I find the inner thoughts of the main character, Celestine North, quite repetitive and sometimes interrupting the flow of the story, but saying that I still loved it.
It’s such an interesting concept, people being punished for making wrong decisions in life and it certainly begs the question of ‘Who decides which decisions are wrong?’ It also shows that corruption finds its way into any society, even one thought to be perfect as at the end of the day we are all human and as humans we makes mistakes. ...more
This book was enjoyable, although it was a story that was quite familiar to me as it had similarities to a book I’ve read few year ago.
Julia and GilesThis book was enjoyable, although it was a story that was quite familiar to me as it had similarities to a book I’ve read few year ago.
Julia and Giles are the ultimate I-hate-you-roomies. But they are also both very aware of the attraction between them and they both try to hide it. So they go on playing pranks on each other until the last prank goes sour.
But somehow it makes them closer and they became best friends (without benefits). They both want to cross the line, but they are both afraid of it. Giles doesn’t do relationships and Julia doesn’t do casual. They both want different things.
They have secrets they are ashamed of, but they have each other and the blossoming of the relationship between them was just lovely. It was nice to read a book where a relationship blossoms from a proper, deep, adult friendship.

I must admit I didn't getThis book reminded me of watching some of my favourite TV programmes like Dexter and Criminal Minds. It's that kind of genre.
I must admit I didn't get along with the heroine's name - I think Sadie Bonds is not a imaginative name and kind of makes a mockery of an actually pretty good character and Policy profiler. But that aside I really enjoyed the book.
I appreciated the different points of view that changed with each chapter as it allowed me as a reader to get to know each of the main characters quite well and it delved deeper into the mind of the killer.
This book was a very quick read and leaves the reader on a massive cliff-hanger as you don't really find anything out, but to me that made great start to a interesting fast paced series.
Both Sadie and Colton have a dark past and there are hints throughout the book and I am looking forward to finding out more about them.
Thank you Netgalley for allowing me to read this lovely book in exchange for an honest review.
