This was really a quick read. I was happy that it was about Sarah and Max, but once again, I was sort of disappointed init. I felt like it was like Chloe and Bennett and it always the same old story. I can understand the struggle they had to come back to what they love juggling with having to take care of their daughter, Anna, but sometimes, I was like... It's too much.
What saved this book? There are four reasons.
First one, George. He got me laughing with all of his remarks and him with Anna was hilarious. I really enjoyed it whenever he came into the story.
Second one and third one, Will and Hanna. These two are just cracking me up. I really enjoyed how they try to explain things and when they babysit little Anna, you have to wonder how these two might survive parenthood one day. Okay, it wasn't that bad, but let's say, Will still needs to do some practice.
And fourth one, Niall. Niall is Max's brother who came to visit him. He's not there much at the beginning, but seriously, this guy is simply a genius with babies and Anna simply adores him. I liked that we had a bit of his backstory before the next book which is about him. Maybe Niall's book will become my favourite, who knows.
But overall, I really thank god for the other characters because the main characters just didn't do it for me. I still like them, but I felt like something was missing in this book....more

This novella was interesting, but seriously, some of the things in there were just getting old. I wanted to read about Bennett and Chloe's wedding, but as I started to read this, I just wanted to arrive to the end because both of them were getting on my nerves.
I thank God for their friends and families who kept me entertained when these two were just making me want to slap them a few times.
I'm still glad these two had each other because they do fit together, but really, at some point, I was like... Fine, we get it, you like to yell at each other as foreplay, but really, this is getting old.
Also, everything that seemed that could go wrong, did go wrong and I was like... Is that even possible that so many things could go wrong for only one wedding? It was entertaining, but I wasn't feeling like it seemed realistic.
So I gave a lot of negative, but really, towards the end, I was smiling genuinely as things started to settle down a little and the end is really Bennett/Chloe worthy hahaha.
So that's why only 3 stars, but I still think that you need to read this just to have the full effect of the Bastard Series and see some updates from all our Beautiful People :)...more

Okay, I have a new favourite book in this series and it's this one. Will and Hanna are such refreshing characters. Will might be your typical male character who loves sex and women but with Hanna, his character is just so much fun to read. We met Will in the second book and you had to love the way he was always carefree and in teasing mood and I already loved his character. I was really happy that this book would be about him.
Learning about what Will's thoughts really consisted of was something I wasn't expecting. I don't know how to explain this really, but let's say that perhaps Max and Bennett weren't the only ones who thought about being with the right woman for them. Will might have teased them, but though he hadn't found that one woman for him, he wasn't totally against the idea of commitment as strongly as he tried to make others believe.
So enters Hanna....
Hanna always says what's on her mind most of the time. Having a filter isn't something she is used to. I love her character because she was innocent when it comes to relationships yet not so much regarding her job, her studies, etc. Hearing her theories about things that I would have never believed to be heard in a friendly conversation just made me laugh. She isn't afraid to ask questions about things she doesn't understand; she wants to learn to be more social, sexy and appealing and she's taking it really seriously.
When her and Will meet up again after not seeing each other in a while, it might be somewhat a bit weird, but they quickly fall into a routine where both of them interact with easiness and honesty. Will enjoys her blunt remarks and she likes that she can talk so freely around him.
When these two get together though, it's powerful and it made me want to have my own Will. He might have been the teacher, but he's learning a lot through this relationship that isn't a relationship.
But characters learn a lot through this whole book and I really enjoyed reading about them. I could read a few other books about them for sure....more
So this novella was interesting, but I was not in love with it. I felt like they wanted to put so much stuff in the same book and it was really too much stuff for the length of this novella.
I felt that perhaps, they should have done a novella for Bennett and one for Max or just make it longer. Heck, I wouldn't mind 50-100 pages more if it meant like everything wasn't so confusing.
But I still liked it and I'm still glad that I read it because it was funny and sexy too. So what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas? I don't know, but either way, it's a bachelor party that none of the guys are about to forget.
Also, I was kind of bummed that Henry was there, but at the same time, not really. I felt like he popped from time to time. Even when he was there, I just felt like he was pushed out of the picture to talk more about Bennett, Max and Will.
But if you read that series, it could be good to read the novellas to give you some insight that may explain certain things in the following books....more

Wow, Max and Sara are hot hot hot! I won't lie, I really found this book entertaining with all of their encounters. I never expected that when I began this book. Okay, I knew it wasn't going to be conventional sex between them, but I didn't expect them to be so wild.
To be honest, a lot in this I didn't expect and I think that's why I enjoyed the second book of the series more than the first one. Max was really what Sara needed to get over her past even if she didn't get that before a while.
Of course, the characters are never what you expect when you first start to read about them and I think that only keep us more interested to find what's hidden behind the first assumption we got from them.
Sara got on my nerves from time to time though because no matter what happened with Max, she looked to always need to compare to her ex, which believe me was not worth thinking about.
I adored Max. He was a player and cocky, but still, he had something that kept me wanting to have him for myself. The fact that he was British might have helped but really, I think that's because no matter what, he was always honest. Whether you want to hear it or not and I think that's exactly the kind of guy Sara needed.
So I do suggest to readers who started the series and didn't get into the first book to try this second one; they might enjoy it more....more

What can I say about the trilogy's finale except that I'm in a love with this series. It gave me so many feels, it's incredible.
So it took me several days before I posted this review because I was not sure how to express myself about this book and I'm still not sure so it may or may not make any sense hahaha.
It had everything that I look for an ending of a series I love. All questions answered, choices made and not many if any lose ends.
I will give you this... We don't have to wait long to know Layla's choice in this book. I was afraid we would have to wait until the end of the book where all of their problems was either resolved or at least plans had been made to resolve them before we knew who she chose, but Jen gave us that much... She knew we were probably impatient and needed it like quickly.
I loved all the characters in this book. I feel like they all learned something about themselves in the series and this book is the conclusion to what they have become.
They might have annoyed me at some point in the books because sometimes I was like... What are you thinking? Don't do this? But I guess it makes them more relatable. I mean, no one makes the right decisions all the time.
I recommend this series to everyone. It was amazing and I keep telling this to my friends and I hope this series is translated in french so they can read it.
So yeah, this review is really random, but I don't want to spoil it for anyone. I want the readers to get all the feels I experienced with this book. Really, you will laugh, cry, be mad and probably turned on. Seriously, how can you not with two hot boys in this book? ;)...more

Rating: 3.75 or 4
Okay, I will just point out something right now and then I'll let it go... I don't know if it was on purpose or not, but there were some mistakes in the french bits of this book. Like I said, I don't know if it was for a reason or not, but I won't lie, it sort of annoyed me since my maternal language is french.
Okay, moving on from this. I give this book between 3.75 and 4 because novellas are shorter and sometimes, I just need more details, but it was really interesting.
I was happy we got to see a bit more about where Chloe and Bennett's relationship was at now. They still argue, but I won't lie, it wasn't as much fun as in the first book, but they still manage to keep it entertaining for us readers I believe.
Still told in dual point of views, we get to see how each other them realize where they believe they are at now. I liked to see how no matter how different their thoughts were, they still led them to the same conclusion.
Also liked that there were a few flashbacks from their year together. There could have been more, but I think they went with the more important ones.
I will admit that to get some alone time together, they really seemed to have a lot of problems. Always someone or something stopping them from being alone. Even their trip to France came with a few problems.
The chemistry between the two of them was still explosive and I hope to read more about them even if it's only snippet to see what will happen with them.
So I will continue this series because now I'm really intrigued to find out about new characters and I really hope they'll be as much fun as Chloe and Bennett were....more

This will be a short review, but still. I really enjoyed reading about Amma. It was short novella and I'm sure we could have said a lot more about her, but I liked to have this insight in her past and how she came to be part of the Ethan's life.
I feel sad that whatever she did, her destiny was set in stone. She couldn't change it and even if she could have, a part of me believe she would have done the same things if only for Ethan.
You can see just how deep she cared for him and it's really touching that Ethan got to read about it and learn more about the woman who was part of his family.
These novellas are a nice addition to the series and I can't wait for the next one....more

Caroline and Simon. I really love the way these two interact with one another andOriginal review from my blog Julalicious Book Paradise
Caroline and Simon. I really love the way these two interact with one another and what to say about their friends? There's not a dull moment in this book.
In this sequel, you get to see how the relationship between the two of them is evolving through drama, humor and sexy moments. Through all of this, you get to see them struggle as their routine changes and they try to work around it.
I think that the reason I enjoyed this so much is because through Caroline's eyes, you get to see the struggle that we all go through whenever a new development happens in a relationship. You see her doubt and it makes her so much more relatable to the readers in my opinion.
Simon's character is probably one that changed the most since book one, but I really enjoyed that we got a glimpse of his past life when he goes to his High School reunion and I was glad that Alice Clayton gave us that because I believe it gave us an insight of who he was back then and it helped him make-up with things he had long repelled due to the tragedy that occured in his life.
Simon and Caroline are both changing and it clashes from time to time, but you can tell that they love each other and you just want them to work out their problems because, let's face it, they are perfect for one another.
And what about their friends? Oh yeah, some drama occurs for them too and Caroline and Simon are stuck in-between while trying to work out their own drama. I just love every characters in this book because they are all funny and bring something interesting to this story. Before starting this book, I hadn't realized how much I missed all of them.
And what to say about Clive? Can anyone say they don't like that cat? I really adore him and I was really impatient to get to the end of the book to see his chapter.
And as much as I enjoyed this book, I will admit that the beginning went really fast. They fastforwarded it in small bits just so we saw a little where their relationship was at until they reached the present moment, but I would have loved to have more details. I just felt like we might have missed some important details.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book. The development of the characters, the interaction between each of them and the author's writing made this into an amazing story....more

We met Viv in the second book of this series. She is Simon's old friend and already in 'Rusty Nailed' I liked her. She had this explosive personality so when I saw this book was about her, I was really happy and pretty excited to start it.
So what did I think of this book in reality? I really love it. It was funny and Viv is such an interesting character. I knew she had a particular personality when we were first introduce to her, but in this book, you finally get just how much. But it's nice to see that even if from the outside, she looks like someone who doesn't need anyone in her life, when you start this book, you realize just how much she is craving for romance. She wants to fall in love.
Getting an insight of her thoughts was really entertaining as she likes to imagine a lot of things through scenarios of romance novels. Each time she meets a guy, her imagination kicks in. So when we are first introduced to Hank, the cowboy taking care of the horses, her imagination is running wild; she truly believes he could be the one. Through the whole book, she tries to get his attention, but he's tough to crack. But if you ask me, I would have just left that one alone. He had no personality and he was just plain blah. I know many would like the idea of him being seen as a "bad boy", but to me, he just acted like a douchebag.
And you're are introduced to the librarian, Clark, who is totally the opposite of Hank. He's proper and I won't lie, he could be a pain the ass, but he was really sweet from time to time. He's a good guy, plain and simple and totally not what Viv looks for.
But even if he comes out as the good guy, when Viv and him meet, it clashes as they don't see eye to eye about the house situation. She doesn't like to be told what she can or can't do and he is really set on following the rules when it comes to restructuring a house on the historical register of the city.
When Viv and him are arguing over the house, it made me laugh because they are both stubborn. Their relationship between the two of them changes a lot in the book. Sometimes they fight, sometimes, they talk like friends and other time, you can tell they are lusting for one another even if most of the time, you can tell she's trying to ignore that. Through their nightly calls, you get what Viv calls 'Nighttime Clark' who is slightly more loose. Let's say there are a lot of innuendos during those calls.
I'm trying to do this review without any spoilers so I'm stopping here, but I will just add that I enjoyed this book a lot. We had cameos from Caroline, Simon, Mimi and Ryan and it just made me smile because I really love them.
I'm sure you will enjoy reading about Viv and I think we can all see a big of ourselves in her when you read her thoughts, her needs and her dreams, etc.
Oh, I just need to add one point to this review:
I missed Clive's epilogues though. This cat is just hilarious, but I guess it's normal since it would be weird to add that to Viv's story, but still....more
