This is the first ARC that I've read and owned that isn't an ebook, so I was very excited when I won it from Leah Cliffords BlogTV show with Victoria Schwab.
I wasn't too sure what I would think of it to be honest, I'd seen it around of course; who could forget that amazing cover!?
But I still wasn't sure, I've been mislead by pretty covers before!
Last night however, I decided to read something different, so I picked it up and re-read the synopsis on the back of the book and was instantly hooked.
Then I read the first page, and couldn't put it down.
Murder. Mystery. Questioning of ones sanity, or insanity. Woe's of high school bitchiness. A very very very sexy boy, and all with a plot so nicely woven together!
Do you want to read it yet?
Although I do have to say something to the future readers out there: when you pick this up, DO NOT miss the little letter from Mara before chapter one! It will keep you thinking (Michelle, that was an ingenious little hint you put there, I was looking out for it on every page!).
I don't really know what else I can say about The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer without letting loose some spoilers.
So, what I will say is keep your mind open to the possibilities of what could be, as you read this, hell, I've finished the book and my mind is still whirling with many different possibilities of what could come next... and I'm dying to know!
Another thing is, I honestly didn't know there could be so many creative ways to add to the word 'ass' and now, thanks to Michelle and Mara I have been thoroughly educated on the matter.
Michelle Hodkin, you did and excellent job, and I would like some more now, please?
I've been dying to read Kiss of Frost ever since I read the last page of Touch of Frost back in July, and was happy that I only had until November to get the next installment of this thrilling tale! Although it turned out that I didn't even have to wait that long, thanks to Jennifer for sending me a copy of the eARC in early September, which I devoured very quickly!
Boy oh boy, was it good! Just like Touch of Frost left me aching for Kiss of Frost. Kiss of Frost left me longing for the third: Dark Frost, really really badly! I just can't wait to get my hands on it!
Kiss of Frost was also the first book that I read on my brand new kindle, which by the time this review is out, wont be so new.
Everything that I loved about Touch of Frost was all present in Kiss of Frost and even more amazing things were added.
Kiss of Frost dives right into the action, with a fast paced opening scene and things don't slow down there! Jennifer keeps up the pace and I have yet to find one dull moment in the Mythos Academy series, its just so much fun to read and keeps you enraptured right up until the end. (the teaser for book three will leaving you gaping and gasping for more!)
Logan, the sexy beast is back and possibly even hotter than he was in the first book... although he does act like a complete ass for a while, but hey he's a guy, who are known to be prone to random acts of douchery. But honestly, I think he makes up for all that near the end.. well he did for me anyway.
Gwen, is as always such a pleasure and a complete hoot to read about, I love everything about her, her attitude, her fashion sense and most especially her sense of humor... and of course, her taste in guys... and swords!
One thing that I'm going to mention, well ask really is: Jennifer always uses the term 'The Powers That Were' I don't know if it's just me and my strange Australian ways, but I've always seen 'The Powers That Be' and not 'Were' - have any of you lovely readers heard this term before? Or maybe its just unique for the Mythos Academy series and I'm just being silly.
Kiss of Frost by Jennifer Estep was a thrilling read and I highly reccomend this series to everyone! If you love a good mystery, hilarious and yummy characters, this series is definitely for you!

Dark Frost is the third stunning book in the Mythos Academy series. I don't think that it's possible for Jennifer Estep to disappoint me at all with this series, she has me hooked so badly that as soon as I found the ARC in my inbox, I couldn't contain myself... it jumped the pile and I devoured it quite quickly.
Gwen Frost: our violet eye heroine is back kicking ass and occasionally have her ass kicked too (although, I don't mind so much when a certain sexy spartan is doing the kicking). So much happened in Dark Frost that not even her witty sarcasm could solve the problems that kept flying into our heroine's midst, one after the other.
Also, everyone who read Kiss of Frost will know that Estep left us hanging with a sample chapter of Dark Frost with lots of tension, bad guys and of course life threatening action (Another reason WHY I had to dive into it so quickly!). Estep certainly started Dark Frost with a one hell of a punch, and it didn't slow down much throughout either!
Poor Gwen though, it was a bit her against the world for a while there, and I just wanted to give her a big hug and slap some sense into everyone else! So many crazy, awesome, mind-boggling things happened though, and I'll just say our furry friend from book two is back, and gosh I love her!
Keep some tissues on hand though... only if you are a big wuss like me because I certainly needed them for the climax and just a little bit at the end... but I cry in everything and I don't want to scare anyone from picking up this marvelous book! You'll definitely have to pick up this amazing series and see for yourself!
So much action, suspense and the bad guys just oozed with malicious intent! I was blown away and the ending was just WOW! I can't wait to see what happens to Gwen and all her friends next. So like always I'll be eagerly awaiting the next book in Jennifer Estep's Mytho's Academy series!
Also tomorrow the lovely Jennifer Estep will be popping into Nomalicious Reads for an interview! You should come see what she has to tell us about the Mytho's Academy series then! (less)
I've been wanting to read Shatter Me ever since I read it's captivating synopsis.
Then I entered my friend Rachel's giveaway over at her blog: Paper Cuts, where an ARC of Shatter Me was only one of a few prizes that I could win, my chances were slim and yet, I won! I Still can't believe I won the book I actually wanted... a big thanks goes out to Rachel (for the hundredth time).
This book was... wow, just WOW.
There's no way that I can write a review to give justice to how fantastic Shatter Me was, but hopefully I'll entice you enough with my words of WOW, to get you to raid the bookstore on it's release date or convince to to borrow it from the library or to go and pre-order a copy of it NOW.
My thoughts when I picked up Shatter me and begin to devour it was: wow this is weird. Good, fantastic weird, but still weird. I was intrigued and curious what Tahereh Mafi was going to write next, and how things could possibly evolve with Juliette's current mental state.
I turned out not to be disappointed, but ended up being blown away.
With every page Tahereh leads us along a thrilling tale, experiencing Juliette's inner and outer turmoil and her journey to self discovery and acceptance. Watching her grow from the weak, mentally unstable character she was into an amazing independent woman coming to terms with herself and her power, was definitely worth the read alone. But Tahereh gave us a lot more food for thought along the way.
One of those yummy delectable things was: Adam! Ooooh boy, would I love to be Juliette locked up in a room with him! (Spoiler: (view spoiler)[Although, maybe not, since they keep getting interrupted! Was damn frustrating. Tahereh you evil genius, you. I hope that Adam and Juliette can finally get some 'alone' time in book two, for a couple of hours at least. haha, yes I'm shameful, but ooh boy was some of those scenes steamy!! (hide spoiler)])
I've heard a lot of people saying they don't understand the cover of the book and why Juliette is wearing the, and i quote 'hideous dress' I will say that I'm pretty sure that it's in reference to the creepy evil (excuse my language) BASTARD, who dresses her up in numerous amounts of outfits throughout a certain part of the novel, although all those were skin tight and short so I'm not sure why this dress was chosen... either way, I like the cover and can't wait to get my own hardcover copy!
All of Tahereh's characters will sink their hooks into you, even the creepy evil bastard! He was so damn evilly insane that he was awesome! I'm a sucker for a well written bad guy that will give me the chills, and Warner fit the glove to a T.
I loved throughout the book Tahereh had cross out sections, questioning Juliette's sanity and displaying her real thoughts within them.
The fantastic world, the twists, the turns the characters, the fantastic ending and the almost superhero feel I got from the end, just makes me eager for MORE! I don't think of anything I can't squeal all fan-girl style about this book.
Tahereh did an AMAZING job, and I CANNOT WAIT to pick up not only the sequel to Shatter Me, but any other book she writes. Tahereh Mafi is another fantastic debut writer of 2011 to keep your eyes glued on for upcoming masterpieces!
Shatter my by Tahereh Mafi gets put on my favourites shelf and:

After reading Obsidian, my first reaction was to think: I should go stick my head in the freezer just so I can cool down enough to write my review!
Things were not only hot, in Obsidian... they was SCORCHING! Steam practically wafts out of this baby, I was a bit worried my kindle would spontaneously combust - although if it did, I swear I would only forgive it for doing so under the pressure of one of the extremely hot and incredibly yummy Daemon's kisses.
Now that you've all questioned my sanity or are bursting at the seams to get a hold of Obsidian... I'll continue.
I'm kind of surprised no one has ever wrote a book with the main character being a book blogger before (to my knowledge anyhow), and kudos to Jennifer for snatching up this idea, it was amazing and not only for the book blogger part, but the awesome alien concept as well!
I personally think it will be interesting to see how many more bloggers will appear after Obsidian hits the shelves, and if anymore books featuring bloggers will pop out in the foreseeable future!
Every book blogger out there will love to read about Katy, well I did - she was smart, sassy, had some great one liners, and of course she also had the same love affair with books that we all do. She was happy to receive comments, post reviews, insanely ecstatic when books arrived in the mail, embarrassed when the hot alien boy see's her quirky In My Mailbox post... oh wait, maybe we don't all have the hot alien boy part (where can I sign up for that!?).
Daemon was no angel, Katy describes him pretty well with her first scalding remark of 'douchebag' not so creative, but the girl works better than most under pressure! Maybe it's just me and Katy, but I do love a guy that can manage to be a complete jerk yet still flirt and give you butterflies at the same time! You just gotta hate and love him.
Daemon has hidden depths, like every character worth loving has. You just want to give him a big hug and um... rip his clothes off at the same time (hmm, maybe I'm being too graphic, apologies).
The tension was electric, the build up was tormentingly evil of Jennifer, but ooh boy was it worth the wait!
Dee was a bundle of adorable fun, she was a great match for the friendship area for Katy and I wouldn't want to stand between this girl and her ice-cream!
The Alien twist was great, I love how they weren't your typical little green men seeking peace or massive bugs after world domination.
The end was: awesome, frustrating, humorous, amazing and intriguing! my hands are going to be tingling to the very tips until I get my hands on book two!
I have so many speculations about book two! I don't want to spoil so I think I'm going to have to go annoy other fantastic bloggers that have read this masterpiece already and see what they think and speculate!
Thank you Jennifer and Entangled Publishing for giving me the chance to read and review Obsidian - which I've been dying to read ever since I heard about it and then did my first ever cover release!
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout was another fantastic read and will be going into my favourites and truthfully, I think she had me as soon as 'stab-worthy' was mentioned in the synopsis!
Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout is a definite must read! & gets:

I was really excited to be contacted by Entangled to be apart of the Hushed tour (my interview with Kelley will be up on December 9th) and even more excited to read Hushed early!
I'm going to be honest and say that I was a bit worried that I wouldn't like it after I read the first seventeen pages, but that's where things started to get really good!
I don't think that I've ever wanted a character to get away with murder as bad as I wanted Archer to! I was a bit worried about him at the start, but as the story progressed I just wanted to fold him up and put him in my pocket for safekeeping!
Evan was just as adorable as Archer, you could just see how well they would fit together and I was cheering for them to get together and kick psycho Vivian to the curb!
Vivian was an amazing complex character, she's one of those girls that everyone likes. Archer is so in love with her, that he even turns to murder to try to heal all the pain and suffering that she's been through, in hopes that she will turn back into the girl that he fell in love with so many years ago.
There was a turning point in the story when Vivian basically has two choices, to change her life for the better or to let the crazy come out to play... if you haven't guessed, she decided on the crazy.
At first I wanted Archer to end up with both Vivian and Evan... don't ask why haha I don't know, I just did, but then Vivian went all psycho bitch... which was masterfully done, she was so creepy and I got really worried about both Evan and Archer that I was sitting on the edge of my seat gripping my kindle, excited yet scared to turn the next page to see what would happen next.
Also I'm going to mention the build up between Evan and Archer was torturous! In a good way of course, but there was all this yummy tension and then suddenly from small touches and tantalizing embraces to BAM steamy goodness, which kind of shocked me with how sudden it went from something small to something big... but I'm not complaining!
Then the ending... well first there's the unofficially ending when I finally took a breath and sat back not worried about what would happen next and then Kelley kicked me on my ass with the ending.. oooh boy oh boy! I wasn't too sure how I felt about it either and had to take a moment to think after the final page and taking it all in.
I loved it, and can't wait to see else Kelley will write next. I hope that there will be lots of Scary characters, chilling scenes and especially yummy, steamy goodness in the not too distant future! (less)
