The Sorcerer’s Stone is a small, quick, yet fun read. It’s actually quite a simple book, as it was written for children and was Rowling’s first novel. I realize that it could have been better and longer, but there are little gems in it. Laughter and tears, friendship and love. It’s really quite a little treasure with fantasy and fun in it.
It isn’t as well written as the latter books, but it is Rowling’s first novel, and she’s just barely tapping into the wizarding world of Harry Potter. I love the world Rowling created, I love the characters, especially Fred and George. My favorite line: “You haven’t got a letter on yours,” George observed. “I suppose she thinks you don’t forget your name. But we’re not stupid--we know we’re called Gred and Forge.” Ha ha! Love it!
Ah, I love the Harry Potter series. I’ve read this book several times- each time the next book came out- and I still love it. And I will read it several more times in my life. ...more

I can never contain my excitement over it. It is brilliant, romantic, poetic, it's just simply amazingly incredible. How anyone could not like, no- love, this book is beyond me. I am in love with Mr. Darcy. Tall, dark, and handsome, how could I not? He has faults, yes, but that just makes him that much more likable and believable. I love Elizabeth's wit and character, and seeing her change from hating Darcy, to loving him completely. And I want to hit Mr. Collins over the head for his stupidity and ignorance of women's feelings and thinking he knows their thoughts!
Elizabeth's and Mr. Darcy's love for each other is so romantic and beauitful. It is timeless, undergoing trials and contempt before it could blossom into something truly majestic and true. Their love for each other is sweet and shy, yet sincere and ardent. Several times during the book I had to laugh, or found myself smiling stupidly over the awkwardness their love goes through, when Elizabeth starts to harbor feelings of gratitude and respect for Mr. Darcy which slowly turn into true love, and then seeing Darcy's changed character and that he still loves Elizabeth, and more, since she vehemently rejected him.
Reading Pride and Prejudice just makes me giddy with delight. The romance makes me sigh in contented bliss, and root for Lizzy and Darcy. This is an absolute beloved classic, one that I will love and reread eagerly forever. ...more

Brandon creates a magical world for children and forms an adventurous plot with plenty of thrilling scenes and intriguing twists that kept me turning the pages eagerly. He doesn’t leave any part or idea of the story untold. Brandon does an incredible job at being able to pull together a creative story that is depicted well.
I found several similarities between TCSW and Fablehaven. Kids get involved in some dangerous situation with some adults who may or may not be evil or traitors, and they have to find a treasure/artifacts before the evil people do, and there’s spells and obstacles they have to get through to get the object. Nate reminds me of Seth; daring, courageous, but wants to do what’s right. Summer reminds me of Kendra; levelheaded, smart, doesn’t want to be left out just because she’s a girl, but realizes there’s some guy things she would rather not do.
Brandon is writing a sequel to TCSW, it doesn’t really need it, but he says that he’s got some cool ideas, so I’m excited to see what he comes up with. ...more

The writing is simple and the plot not that well thought out, a little weak in places. But I still found it a fun book. I like the idea and the characters. When I first read it, I was surprised to find out who Milo was. I like Beck with his humor and daring nature, though he is stupid and cocky, and the dragons are pretty cool. Even though it's a simple, not extremely well written book, I still reread it, and I'll still read it in the future. It's just a fun little book to pass the time....more

It's enchanting and magical, and takes me back in time to a beautiful fairtyale. The writing is flowing and poetic-like, the plot was very well thought out and intriguing, and the love part was so sweet and perfect. No matter how many times I read the Goose Girl, I always find myself sighing inside and smiling when I read the last few pages with Geric and Ani. This book is beautiful, and I love, love it! Completely reccomendable to girls who love fairytales with some cute romance. ...more
