All the other books that follow are usually great but nothing compared to the book that first got u into the adventure. so it surprises me to say that the further I got through house of night the more I loved it. when I started it, it seemed simple and basic now its full of information and more twists than I thought possiable. I adore burned and I dont think any of the house of night fans will be disapointed with the latest release. Cant wait for the next one. :)(less)

Loved it and totally think everyone should try it though I guess in a way after reading a few other comments that its one of those either hate it or love it books and me? well...I LOVED IT!! The romance in it was uber hot between Elphame and Lochlan and sweet and soft between Cuchilainn and Brenna. (Sorry total spoiler for those who havent read it)I could go on and on about how good it is but that would take too long and it would make a very long comment which I'm sure no one will want to read.
So after declaring my love for the book your probably wondering why I only gave it 4 stars and not 5. Well theres 2 reasons for that (and to be honest I wanted to give it 4 and a half stars) The first reason is that there are lots of points of views from different characters and it changes the points of views with no warning or anything so I sometimes got confused as to whos head I was in at different points of time and would have to read over it again to understand. The second reason is rather silly really. When I mentioned how uber hot the romance was I wasnt exagerating It was HOT!!! And though I personally loved it as a mature romance reader whos read it all before and all that, I was slightly worried over the fact that its written for teenagers and the thought of 11 or 13 years olds reading some of those scenes worried me. I mean seriously I remember that when I was that age the very mention of breasts had me blushing and laughing. It has adult stamped all over it and I would say 15 years and over.
Anyway thats my thoughts on the book. I hope you give it a try. enjoy!!! You won't be disappointed!!!!....I hope. Well I wasn't anyway. (less)

I don't know it just felt like there was something missing and I didnt feel the same attachment to the charactors as I did when reading Elphame's choice. Also once again as I mentioned when reviewing Elphame's Choice I can't help but notice that it seems too adult for the age group its in. As a teenage book its allowing teenagers from 11 years up to read it, and I personally don't feel comfortable on the thought of 11 or 13 year olds reading some of the scenes in the book. Id say 15+.(Depending on maturity) Another thing is that I felt that P.C Cast sort of rushed the ending. I mean you had all these problems building up through out the story that were all solved in the last two pages, which I personally was disappointed in and it also left a lot of unanswered questions so fingers crossed another book comes out. But yeah the ending seemed sort of...sudden if you know what I mean. But other than all of that I did enjoy reading it and I recommend it to all. A very good read, not the best but good. (less)

I loved this story and though it wasnt one of her best ones its still very high on my love scale. To be honest anything from P.C. Cast in my opinion is great, I dont even bother reading the blurb anymore. If its from her and I havn't got it I buy it and read it straight away. (less)

You would think that by now the series will have started to drag and the surprises and twists would become less and less. These Two authors though show thats not the case.
I confess at the beginning it dragged on a bit and I couldnt help but notice the chessy one-liners, the occasional overused descriptions and the few scenes that seemed a bit unrelistic. But the last few chapters were so wonderful I forgave all that on the spot and will not bother mentioning the negatives in this review other than to say that you should read on as it does get better and its worth it. Once again I was sighing happily through the romantic scenes, laughing at the bitchy scenes and crying my eyes out through all the really sad scenes. I warn you there are a few near the end.
I love how this book brings up things that most teenagers find embarressing to talk about. This book helps teens I think in the knowledge that though based on vampires it tackles issues we can all relate to and learn from. I also love how it doesnt just have a main character and a load of background characters like in most books. I love how everyone in it at some point or other gets the light shune on them so that they can tell us their story and let us see things from their point of view. An amasing series and I cant wait for the next one to come out.(less)
