Ms. Brown’s romantic suspense novels are amazing and she is my absolute favorite author.
I love that the location is a bayou and not in a big city. It’s the perfect setting for a romantic suspense novel to take place.
Two hitmen are out to kill Jordie Bennett. One of the hitmen, Shaw abducts Jordie wanting to get the $30 million Jordie’s brother has stolen. He’s not the only one after the money. Shaw and Jordie are on the run from the FBI and a criminal. They have to trust each other to stay alive.
This is a must read! A+

I haven't read the first two books but this book can definitely be read as a standalone. This is the first book I've read by Rita Herron and I really enjoyed it. The characters were fairly well developed and well-written. Although the character of FBI agent Beth Fields was a little weaker than I would have liked for an agent. The book has suspense and a bit of romance. The romance between the two main characters could have been developed a bit more. I didn't really feel the chemistry between the two but that wasn't a deal breaker for me and don't really impact my enjoyment of the book because I really enjoyed it.
Overall this is a good book. It kept me guessing all the way though as to who was responsible for the ghastly murders. I will definitely be reading the first two books of this series and future books by Ms. Herron.

Iris is miserable and is always controlling every situation and never has anything nice to say about anyone. Poppy is free spirited and is a travel blogger. Hyacinth although not mean spirited or controlling doesn’t always have nice things to say. Their mother Mary worries about her daughters and hopes that the vacation will somehow bring them a little closer together, that they’ll be able to put their differences aside for once. Mary also reveals a huge secret, one she feels her daughters need to know.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit. It had a good plot and the characters were well developed. The characters were all very different and unique. I couldn’t stand Iris at all through the entire book. I loved Poppy, she’s so carefree and very likeable. Hyacinth was an ok character. I found that the owners of the Inn, Pete and Zadie to be a little too good to be true at times. They provided their guests with the best of everything they could and that included the very best meals I’ve ever read about. The descriptions of the food were mouthwatering! Food was mentioned all the time.
Overall a good read especially if you love a story that takes place in paradise and if you appreciate really great food that you can’t actually eat but you can just about taste it in your mouth. Looking forward to more good reads by Roma Brooks. ...more

Ellie was only a six year old child when she witnessed her mother being murderer. She saw the killer but because of the sheer shock of what she witnessed she blocked out the image of the killer, all she remembered were the white runners he was wearing.
On the anniversary of her mother’s death Eleanor went for her usual run and went to the exact spot her mother was killed. What she discovered was a gruesome find – another woman’s dead body. The police searched the area but there was no body. The police thought she was just emotionally distraught and was hallucinating. Was Ellie losing her mind and imagining it because of the grief she still lived with? No, she wasn’t losing her mind. She wasn’t going to give up finding the truth and finding the body.
I read this book in just a few hours, couldn’t put it down! This was the first book I’ve read by Jane Holland and I can tell you it won’t be the last one. There was mystery, a little romance thrown in and a lot of murder. It was a great book, a page turner!
