To me, Lori Foster and Stephanie Tyler write very similar books. Personally, it seems I enjoy Stephanie Tyler more, there seems to be more depth of story.
This particular book I loved the beginning; great chemistry between the leads Alice and Reese. However, the middle and even the end, feel repetitive, monotonous, and drag. The main characters fall in love/hook up way to soon. How about some sexual tension AND THEN the mind blowing orgasms, instead of "we introduced ourselves, he threw me on the bed, I came for days!"
Reading these books one right after the other is a problem too. While it keeps my mind fresh on the reoccurring players, they start to run together because the storyline is all the same. Don't get me wrong I like/enjoy the storyline but I don't watch Jason Statham* movies back-to-back either. Have to carefully dole that stuff out ;)
Read if you like/need/want a wham-bam-thank you ma'am.
*Use to be Jean Claude Van Damme. But the times, how they are a changing! (less)

Let me get the complaints out of the way first. The flashbacks: good, great, ugh the feels!, but dialogue did not feel age appropriate at all when they were in the 3rd, 6th, and 9th grade. Maybe I was a dummy 3rd grader and hung out with other dummy 3rd graders but the verbiage and thought processes just didn't feel authentic. Way to quick of a reunion. Draw that angsty shit out! Wrapped up pretty quickly with a nice neat bow.
Now the applause. Wow, was not expecting such a deep feels story. This starts off slow but Tab and Wyatt's (main characters) relationship builds until you're so caught up in it all you'll be demanding Tabitha ditch her drugged out family and beg Wyatt to let his temper unleash while holding in his lawful leanings.
Look, it's not Shakespeare but you'll have the feels trust me. I liked it a lot and definitely going to be on the lookout for Nova's book ;)(less)
Marc Hunter, on my top 10 rom hero list fo' sure. Damn, read this book for him alone. Fast paced, extremely well written, hot, interesting, and a plain ole great read. So darn close to a 5 star read. Like I said before though I only make reads 5 stars if I deem them keepers and will read them over and over again. While this book was crazy good, Marc and Sophie at times were taken over by the overall story of dirty cops. I just don't see myself revisiting this story again, I loved it but I'm also completely satisfied with it. I won't forget their story but don't feel the need to re-read, so maybe the missing 5th star can be blamed on hero/heroine needing more/better interaction outside/not overshadowed by the overall story. But seriously I don't even know if I feel right saying that because I did love Marc and Sophie together.
Read if you want a fantastic story, a hero you will want to breed with, and smart/great heroine.(less)
