She is shown the world of magic and told of Stefan’s plans to have absolute power. She wants no part of it and fears she may not have a choice. Meanwhile the Coven plans a raid on Duskoff and asks Theo to help. There he finds Sarafina, who he mistakes for a warlock and takes back to the Coven headquarters to question. Soon he finds out that she was abducted and the memory of his own abduction by Duskoff comes flooding back. Sarafina informs Theo that she was awakened by a witch with red eyes, but that’s not a witch it’s a demon who seems to have taken a liking to Sarafina and will stop at nothing to get her. Theo must now protect Sarafina from the demon, as well as fight with the coven to stop Stefan once and for all. The coven and the Duskoff will never be the same.
In this, the 4th and final book of the Elemental Witch series, we find that our Author, Anya Bast, has brought an equally worthy and devastating end to this wonderful series. Alliances will be made and for some of our most loved people, life will never be the same.

There she spent her life as a demon handmaiden, until the rouge demons of her land attack her owners in hope of getting a hold of a very powerful weapon. Claire’s demon owner then places this magick within her and sends her to earth hoping to keep this magic out of the hands of evil. Once on earth she finds that no one knows about witches and that she is completely alone. Meanwhile the Coven gets wind of a powerful witch in need of help and sends Adam out to get her. He is instantly drawn to Claire but living the life she has she knows little of love and fears what her owner will do to Adam if she gets involved with him. Claire must learn to use the magick within her without killing herself while Adam struggles to keep her safe from not only the evil that seeks to kill her but from her own fears.
This is the 3rd book in the Elemental Witch series by Anya Bast. Anya again brings us a powerful story with the members if the Coven seeking, first to save Clair from her life in the demon world of Eudae, then to save her from some rouge demons hell bent on taking the very powerful magick within her. Love and magick make up this wonderful tale that will leave you wanting more....more

She is hell bent on destroying the man she holds responsible for her sister’s death, Stefan the new Duskoff international leader. (which leads to a really hot scene where she tries to freeze his man hood off.) The head of the Coven, Thomas, stops her just in time and reminds her that witches agree to “harm ye none”. Thomas promises to help her bring the demon that Stefan released to justice. Together with the coven they hunt a very powerful demon hell bent on stopping it from killing witches in order to open a portal to his world. All the while Isabelle and Thomas try to deny their growing relationship. This love story is a really sweet one that pulled on my heart stings a little.
This is the second book in the Elemental Witch series. Anya Bast turns the story up and gives you a lot of background information, however she does it without over whelming you with so many details it bores you. This book has a wonderful mix of hot love, dangerous battles and worlds beyond our earth. ...more

She’s really a very rare, and very powerful, air witch who is in the middle of a war between witches and warlocks. Jack, a member of the Coven, was sent to protect Mira from Duskoff International. Jack quickly finds that he wants to teach Mira about more than just her Magick. He wants to teach her about how great sex can be. While they focus on trying to ignore their feelings by training Mira’s magick and keeping her safe from the Duskoff their growing sexual tension is almost unbearable. Mira is then taken by Duskoff. Now she must fight to stay alive while Jack and the coven rage a magical war in the hopes of being able to save her.
This is the First book in Anya Bast's Elemental Witch series. Anya Bast did an amazing job with this book. I felt she brought together this story of the battle between witches and warlocks wonderfully. This book is filled with just the right amount of sexual tension, magic, hate and lust to keep any one reading. ...more
Analise Morell is fighting to find her place in a world that she would love to blend into. After living at Excelsior, a school for the gifted to trainAnalise Morell is fighting to find her place in a world that she would love to blend into. After living at Excelsior, a school for the gifted to train to be hunters, in order to gain control of her powers and herself she decides it is time to move on. She has never felt like she fit in but has stayed to be with her brother, a powerful physic, who she would do anything in her power to protect. Now five years later Ana takes off for Alaska and a fresh start in order to put the past behind her.
Duke Lawson, a hunter for Excelsior, has constant reminders of the past and every time he sees Ana he is reminded of how close he came to death. His mixed emotions over Ana drive him insane but when it comes down to it he can't even tolerate another man looking her way. After Ana leaves for Alaska Duke takes off on one of his many excursions as a hunter for months but shows back up at Excelsior as if drawn to the only home he knows. Unfortunately he is just as restless as he was when he was gone and frustrated that he can't seem to pinpoint why... At least until he ends up answering a phone call from Analise.
Now a year later, Analise has grown to love Alaska as her home. The trouble is that she continues to feel that something just isn't right but can't seem to pinpoint what it is. When she calls Excelsior to get help and Duke answers her call she feels the past rush over her again and the feelings that flood her don't come only from the fact that they share an unhappy past. When Duke shows up as her help and not by his own choice things start off a bit rocky for them, but when they are faced with death and ghosts they quickly join forces to hunt down the evil that has made it's home in the Alaskan wilderness.
The characters from HUNTER'S NEED drew me in and I loved the fact that the heroine showed true vulnerability. The struggles that Duke and Analise face in order to overcome their past while continuing an investigation that leads them into unknown and shaky territory were wonderfully written. The story line unfolded in a way that kept me guessing and moved at a pace that was fast enough to keep me interested to the point of not wanting to put it down. Shiloh Walker has delivered a fabulous take on paranormal, suspense and romance with a touch of eroticism that was compelling and fresh. A definite must read!...more

It's kind of like watching that reality TV show that you just can't turn offI have to start off by saying that I love the idea behind this anthology. It's kind of like watching that reality TV show that you just can't turn off, except that it's about some of our most beloved heroes and the people who have to deal with them. Ever wonder who does the laundry and who has to deal with the day to day issues that revolve around heroes? Or have you ever thought, do they stink when they get done fighting evil or riding on their horse? In this collection of 22 short stories we learn about all sorts of things that heroes get themselves into and what those around them have to deal with on a regular basis.
This is a fun twist, with subjects ranging from internet dating in Kristine Grayson's Geeks Bearing Gifts, to make-overs in Laura Resnick's The Quin Quart, to housekeeping in Adrian Nikolas Phoenix's The Horror in the Living Room. As with all anthologies there are some that are not as memorable as others, but I felt that overall it was a fun read with a little something in it for everyone. Some of the stories were lighter and more humorous with some being more serious and of course we had some action and suspense. I felt that each of the author's personalities and writing styles stood out wonderfully and made the reading experience very enjoyable. Denise Little has done an excellent job as the editor of THE TROUBLE WITH HEROES as well as many other fantastic works. I will definitely be looking into some of the authors that I read for the first time, which is one of the things that I love most about anthologies, after getting a little taste of their writing styles....more

Dealing with bullies, trying to make friends and learning that sometimes things just don't happen the way you want them too are all tough lessons for a 7 year old little girl, but Ima Nobody is up to the challenge.
Ima has issues with her neighbor, Billy Do-Good, the bully next door. As she makes her way into class the first day she discovers she now has to deal with him at school too. As she makes it through the beginning of school she finds a friend in Junie Kukunie and together they begin to stand up to Billy, the bully.
With an array of mishaps such as torn jeans, getting her dress stuck in her underwear and getting into food fights we watch Ima learn how to stand up for herself. She learns that she may be Ima Nobody but that she will always be a somebody.
I found the reading light and easy to follow. My son, who is in first grade right now, and I read it together and he really enjoyed it. He thought it was funny but he also was able to pick up on the fact that bullying is not nice. He would stop and say "that wasn't nice" and then he'd be laughing at the funny things that Ima continued to do. Overall it was a great story that is wonderful for children. It kept my son's attention and I felt that the message of not letting anyone get you down and to stand up for yourself without it being at the cost of others was portrayed very well. The only thing we had some trouble with were some of the ‘big’ words since my son wanted to read it on his own, but I thought that it was great to see a book for his age that pushed him to learn more than just the subject at hand. We will definitely be looking for more from Brenda Poage and can't wait to see what Ima will be up to next! ...more

Megan Hart's writing completely changed the way I look at erotic romance. There is a very real and emotional quality to her work that kept me turning the pages till the wee hours of the night.
In SWITCH, we follow Paige through a journey of self awareness and sexual discovery. The emotional ups and downs that she goes through were something that really spoke to me as a reader. Paige is in her mid twenties and branching out. After completing her first stage of school she is now working as an administrative assistant and living in a new apartment in a better part of town than she has ever lived. Paige has an obsession of sorts with fine paper and pens, stationary is something she truly loves, and we find her in a quaint store visiting with the owner, Miriam, on a couple of occasions. So when Paige finds an anonymous note in mailbox on beautiful paper she opens it before noticing that it is addressed to a different apartment. This note and the ones that follow it begin a change in Paige and make her aware of desires that tend toward dominant and submissive roles.
Throughout the story we learn about Paige's past, her family life and what she wants from the new life she is creating for herself. We meet her mother and younger brother, we meet her father and her have siblings from his other marriages and we meet the men of her life from high school till the present. The struggles that she goes through as an adult finding her way after a divorce and learning to cope with new knowledge of the past is an emotional roller-coaster for her and the reader. Paige finds herself following along with the notes' stipulations which has a way of changing her relationships with her ex-husband, her boss and the mystery person the notes were addressed to in the first place.
This was the first book I've read from Megan Hart and I cannot wait to pick up another. I love the way the story made me think and the way she has of making the emotions real enough that the reader feels right along with the characters. I would highly suggest SWITCH to anyone who asks. ...more

She’s a woman hell bent on getting revenge for her family’s murder. Charlie has lost two women that he loved and fled from Gabriel’s territory to get away from all his memorys. Anya put these two together for a wonderful story of love, lust, betrayal and vengeance.
This story touched me. I couldn’t help but put myself in both Tiya and Charlie’s shoes, both having been hurt by love lost..it’s hard to want to be open to love again even when the lust is overwhelming. This book brought so much for me love, betrayal, the need for revenge, all of which I can relate to. The action was sweet while the romance was smoking hot. ...more

In this book we follow Fate, a human artist who has the ability to dream walk. This ability allows her to enter the Dominion realm and kill them while she dreams. Knowing her share of heartache she is strong and determined never to be hurt again. Gabriel, a Vampire leader, is hell bent on protecting her, knowing she’s a target of the Dominion due to her ability. Gabriel feels Fate is safe and allows his attention to be diverted for a short time. Fate is then brutally attacked and forced to become Embraced and then left on Gabriel’s door step. Together they try to find out who attacked her. Was she attacked due to her ability or will one of their past come back to bite them both?
I just love this series. Fate is a strong woman, a black belt, who takes no shit off anyone. She is independent and refuses to allow anyone or anything to run her life. Even being almost killed, forced to become a vampire and having to hide out because someone wants to harm her. Gabriel is an old vampire who, while watching fate for years, begins to have feelings for Fate that he hasn’t felt for many years. Their story is a steamy one, especially when Gabriel decides he wants to give Fate every sexual fantacy she’s ever had. It’s really hot when Gabriel invites Niccolo, a friend he had know for centuries, to share their bed for the night. Gabriel ends up fighting two battles, one to keep fate safe and one to keep Fate with him forever. I felt this was a great book all around. Great story and great Characters. ...more

The love story between Aidan and Penelope started when they were children but statutes separated them quickly. After being embraced they are thrown in to a world they never knew existed and a war between Vampir and Dominion. Together they are the only hope for the Embraced and all of humanity.
This book was HAWT! I enjoyed the love story between Aidan and Penelope as well as the battle between the Embraced and their enemy the Dominion. The love scenes while hawt were not so badly written that I felt the need to pass them by. In fact I think I went back and read them again. My only complaint about this book was I felt the editing should have been looked into a little better. A couple times I ran across a sentence that was missing a word or words that had letters in the wrong place. ...more

We start out by meeting Sara and Dray who are introduced at a party to celebrate Samhain. Sara is a Wiccan Green Witch who is in town visiting her friend, Maylene, and is introduced to Dray who is dressed as Dracula. She is instantly attracted to this handsome stranger dressed as one of her favorite things: vampires.
Dray, the owner of Manigault Technologies, finds himself trying to hold back his laughter while spending time with Sara. He finds it truly refreshing to find someone who speaks their mind at all times. At the end of the night he asks her to meet up with him the next day and Sara loves what she finds as things begin to heat up between them.
A VAMPIRE’S KISS is the first in the The Manigault Vampires serial series by Laura Stamps and has promises of steamy hotness to come! Even though there are characters that are brought in from The Witchery Series, which I have yet to read, I didn’t feel lost which was great. The story line so far kept my attention and the ending left me wanting more. I must say that I can’t wait to read the next part!
VOL 1 NO 2 We met Sara and Dray in Vol. 1 No. 1 of the The Manigault Vampires serial series, A VAMPIRE’S KISS, by Laura Stamps. Sara, who is in Columbia visiting her friend Maylene winds up accepting a date from the sexy Dray…. And that was where we left off… the beginning of the date.
Now we continue with Vol. 1 No. 2 and join them on their date. Talk about HOT!!! The chemistry between them is almost tangible and they can barely keep their hands to themselves. Sara knows this will be a day she does not soon forget as she prepares herself mentally for her return to Charleston. Dray seems to have other plans for Sara and offers her a job.
We are left wondering what is to come and where they will find themselves. I love Sara’s character; the fact that she says what she means and does what she says is awesome. I thoroughly enjoyed this next installment and can’t wait for Vol. 1 No. 3… I want to know what is happening! ...more

It takes on a whole new meaning with this, the 8th book in the series!
A shit storm erupts and leaves the fighting not only to the humans but also to two sets of vampires. One wants freedom the other just wants blood. I’m not going to tell you what happens but Claire really steps up even further in this book and it keeps up with the story and has the nonstop action that I have come to expect for a Morganville book. In this book Michael is finally getting his big break and somehow gets permission to leave Morganville. He also gets permission to take his friends Claire, Shane and Eve with him. He is thrilled until he finds out Oliver is also going with him. So much for a fun road trip. They are headed to Dallas, but Oliver wants to make a pit stop. Everything goes downhill from there.
Rachel Caine does amazing as usual in KISS OF DEATH. I have come to expect nothing less from her. Even though it’s a young adult read, it is one of the best series that I have read. She keeps you hopping with the nonstop action, throws you for loops and keeps you wanting more. I am already looking forward to GHOST TOWN, to be released October 26, 2010! ...more
