I thought the first book was ok and wasnt really interested in continuing the series however I was bored and read Stargazer which interestingly enough spiked my interest. Butttttttttt with Hourglass I am afraid to say, Claudia took 3 steps back
In all honesty I find lucas's character to be very boring and uninteresting so I found it hard for me to root for them to be together because I really don't understand what Bianca saw in him. However in Hourglass I could not stand Bianca either she became to me one those characters that are too stupid to live. She.... no both of them.....are very stupid and immature. Bianca for some reason stupidly and blindly trusts Lucas to take care of her when he doesn't want to go to college and can't even work with the vampire hunters anymore and his big plan is for them to work at fast food restaurants. Wow Bianca and Lucas! And how could they not figure out that when she was becoming ill that it has nothing to do with the fact that she is part wraith ughhh. And Lucas what the fuck, if he really loved Bianca why would he not lower his pride and call Biancas parents for help when she needed because obviously he didn't know what the fuck was going on with her.
And I was upset by the fact that Claudia didn't develop her characters more in this book especially since they really didn't do anything the entire novel. I don't really feel connected to Bianca in Hourglass at all because the only thing I wanted to do was literally slap some sense into her. And with Lucas I never did find that many qualities that I like about him. To me he was just a silly infatuated boy ruled by his hormones and I felt like neither Bianca or Lucas spent enough time together to truly like each other.
But anyway needless to say I won't be reading anymore books on this series.(less)
I dont know how i feel about this book..... I like the book overall and think the story line is good however there where a few annoyances
I generally...moreI dont know how i feel about this book..... I like the book overall and think the story line is good however there where a few annoyances
I generally like rose but in this book I found her to be quite annoying. I like heroines that are confident but in this one she is tooo self involved and self centered. She uses people to fit her needs and then gets over them when they have no use and her ego is almost insufferable. I can not stand characters that act like they have the right to know everything ( because she did this and that) or how she thinks she is the only one that can be Lissa's protector because of the bond (news flash she can be bound to more than one person). I do enjoy her badassness but hate how she thinks she invincible and nothing can happen to her and that its ok for her to ask people to risk there lives, future, reputations, and (in lissa's case) sanity just so she can get her boyfriend back.
But that is not the only thing that annoyed me about her. I hated the way she treated adrian ( even though I am biased because I am a adrian/rose fan >>> I find dimitri to be very boring) its like she uses him for everything his money, connections, and as something to fill her time while thinking about dimitri. Its like she keeps him around just in case she doesn't save dimitri or in case her and dmitri don't work out. She gets mad at Adrian for being jealous even though while shes dating him she risking her life to save the ex love of her life behind his back. Are you kidding me? and then on top of that she completely forgets about Adrian as soon as Dmitri is back so he is forced to break up with her (all the while being nice about it) and then she tries too sleep with because she feels like shit because Dmitri didnt want to get back together.....thats some fucked up shit.
wait.....I cant forget this part..... "HOW CAN HE NOT WANNA SEE MY IM ROSE, HES IN LOVE WITH ME, I DID ALL THIS AND THAT, HOW HAS HE NOT WANT TO SEE ME, DOES HE KNOW THAT IM ROSE BLAH BLAH BLAH... omg I just wanted to punch her in the face... couldn't she like chill for a second stop being so self involved and respect his wishes so he could get use to being human for a second?!?!?!? I am actually beginning to wonder what either Dimitri or Adrian see in her.
I might be alone in this being that I want her and adrian to be together and i mad because they probably wont be and i don't like how Adrian kind of looked like a pussy in this book either but....
In all, even though there are qualities i like about Rose, if she doesnt get knocked down a few notches and learns how to treat people and she doesn't change, learn or grow in the future I don't know if I will like her enough to read more. I tend to stop reading book especially when I can't stand the protagonist.
