But the reading was progressing, I was lying on my bed at Saturday night and kept repeating: just one more chapter, just one more .... And there were ten without I even notice until my eyes began to burn with sleep.
Holly is a teenager who is weakened after her mother's death. She is so confused about her emotions that has numb to the world and does not realize what she is doing until it turns (or it turns upside down) into a big mess.
In the first chapter Holly loses her virginity in the backseat of a boy’s car that she barely knows, Paul. She's so confused that she doesn’t realize the importance of this moment and the only thing she wants is to go home after it was over. As Paul has a girlfriend she thought it was a thing for just one night. But she finds herself surprised when Paul begins to call her and be gentle and wants to see her.

Blanka is going to go a boarding school. The building is a former convent. Inside the building there is a museum with some objects from time when the nuns were judged and sentence for witchcraft. There is a secret society at this boarding school: The Wolves who always welcomes new students. But they deal with Blanka in a different way, as if they did not wanted her to stay at school.
On her first day, returning at night to her dormitory, Blanka enconters a body of a dead woman near the stairs. Then all the mystery begins, was it an accident or a murder?
Blanka and Nicholas begin to follow clues to find out who the woman was and who the Wolves are and why they do not want them around. But Nicholas has kept many secrets that he does not want to tell to Blanka.

The book is narrated in third person, with the visions of Nyssa and Aria and Alaric and Marius. I didn’t like the part where they join a theater company in this part the narrative is a bit tiring and I missed a little bit of romance.
I really liked the Aria's character, she's very independent, determined, fearless and always knows what to do under pressure. I must confess that until almost the end of the book I was wary of her character, but she proved to be a loyal friend.

And once you start reading you can't flip the pages fast enough until you find out what comes next. It was the first YA book that I read that has a serial killer is in the plot. It was a pleasent surprise the way the suspense developed mixed with a sexy romance.
Violet is a common girl (neither popular or geek) who can see and feel and hear the echoes of dead bodies that have been murdered and the imprints that marked the killers. The echoes and the impressions have the same mark.
The book is narrated in third person alternating chapters between Violet and the killer's mind. The reader knows little about the killer so you can't come up with a suspect list. But you know the killer is someone near. The suspense is good but not enough to be considered creepy.
I loved the relationship between Violet and Jay. The chemistry between them is perfect. It's quite clear that what one feels for the other is no longer just friendship. Each page I eargely waited for them to admit they were in love! It has some hot scenes with more than just little kisses.
Kimberly's writing in simple and fast paced. She did a good job explained how Violet's 'gift' worked, but I whised it had more suspense in it.
I really want to read Desires of Dead, the next book in the series to see how far it goes.

Just a few characters but each one played their role within the story. A mix of a bit of supernatural, romance and suspense. At first I just wanted to know where Julia had gotten the scars on her face and when I found out it gave me the chills and I feared for what might have happened to her.
For those who don’t know, Sandman is described in tales as being responsible for seducing humans into good dreams. Eron has been Julia's Sandman since she was a baby. What he feels for her is pure love, so much love he broke the rules, risking their welfare for the rest of eternity.
At first I thought Griffin was a funny and nice guy who really loved Julia and wanted the best for her. But then I discovered they laughed at everything and they never had a serious talk. To me, that is a pseudo relationship . I was afraid of what Bret could do. I hated Chimere’s selfishness to let the situation get where it did due to personal interests. And finally, I loved Eron’s naive and true love.

She has a best boy friend since elementary school. She gets a makeover and becomes a pretty girl. She meets a gorgeous and mysterious guy. She discover that her best boy friend always had a crush on her. Then you ask: Why is this book different from the others?
Despite having a seemingly clichéd theme, this book is dense and touching and sad and exciting all the same time. All this is possible thanks to Angela’s beautiful writing, that shows us the different types of love: family, friend, unconditional and passionate.
I have to say that, since the beginning of the book, I was already Team Scott. Even after Derek showed up, all cute and mysterious, Scott was still my favorite. The days Derek and Beth spend in Switzerland seemed a dream full of hope, fondness and love. The day they had to separate was heartbreaking, but the promise of never letting the dream die was the hope that kept Beth going on. But Beth’s obsession over Derek was a bit annoying.

The supernatural elements has a different and original dynamic. The theory on the Whispers and Emotions are well constructed and developed.
The story is told in the first person viewpoint of Joy. Apparently she is a normal girl, in high school and has her best friends around her but she hides a secret: all the females in her family possess the gift to "Hear" the thoughts and wishes of those around them. So, Joy is the kind of girl who does everything to make people around her happy, but what about her?
Jess , or Icka, unlike her sister think that her gift is a curse and use it to hurt people and make them fell ashamed. She is the typical rebellius, lonely and confused teenager.
Jamie is my favorite character and I think he could show up earlier in the book and his relationship with Joy could have been better developed.
In the beginning the book is a little slow. I think the book had a lot of time talking about school a Joy's birthday party. But to develop the narrative the plot becomes more interesting and mysterious - for those who not read the full synopsis.
The characters is great! Everyone has their function in the story and each has its own personality.
This book is a enjoyable read. The dialogues are fluid with nothing forced.

You may think it might be tiring to read Sam re-living her last day on Earth seven times in 480 pages with only seven chapter. But things are not like that. Lauren Oliver has a gift to write every day of Sam's life in a different way, resulting in a mix of emotions towards the same characters.
At the beginning I hated Sam. For all that she was doing. For the way she dealt with her little sister and her classmates and herself. But Lauren knows how to make Sam grow before my eyes and learn with her mistakes. When I thought I knew what would happen next… I found out I was wrong. Even re-living her last day for seven times, every day brought a new surprise. And in the end, Sam became a strong character spared no efforts to find happiness and save herself.
