The two short stories are surreal and embodies the fantasies of those horny ones who have different tastes. Parents openly discussing snagging strangers to their kids, the ultimate goal to end jealousy and bigotry and there's a law for that by the way. I enjoyed reading them in the spirit they're intended, which is for entertainment and nothing to be taken seriously....more

I've never read anything like this and I'm really impressed.
I gotta say she's a kickass writer who knows her stuff. There's drama, suspense, action, and of course sexy time. I loved everything about this: the story, the plot, characters, and the different situations they were in.
I also like that Lily and Nox really got to know each other and their feelings for each other intensified through time. There was a really tough time for them all and Lily got professional help for herself because she knows she needs it.
Her experience molded her and made her more mature. A lot of life lessons were learned after the ordeal and I'm glad there were no loose ends in here.
Belle Aurora is now one of my favorite authors, and when I say that, it means I'll pick it up and read it if it's written by her, no questions asked....more

I thought it was one of those Christmas-themed short stories and was pleasantly surprised to see that isn’t the case. Ian finally grew up to look like a man instead of a boy and he’s looking for true love…in a lady Vamp. This hope was thought of in a logical sense, Ian good man that he is, doesn’t want to lie about his true self. He’s really adorable and since I’m a fan of Scottish Highlanders it was easy to love his character. He went to Horny Devils to find his mate but it’s really not the place for that. He confided to Vanda and though her intentions were good, it didn’t turn out as planned. Toni has suffered a lot of rejections and I admire her 4 morning affirmations. From the start, it was obvious she and Ian would suit because he flirted naturally with her. They rile each other up and it was amusing. I also liked Carlos and knew somehow he’s not just another neighbor. I think the gay acting is just a front. I think Sabrina and Teddy would have something in the future. I like the developments here, especially the slow addition of shapeshifters in the series, and that they’re working for the Vamps. In the previous book, Phil shifted a large wolf and saved Heather by stalling Louie. Ms Sparks writes fluently and she really does captivate me with her stories. The characters are an eclectic mix, from past to present, and her Vamps have a dose of pop culture. I’m glad there are many more stories in this series to devour. ...more

Jean-Luc is a jaded French vampire who wants to exile himself for 25 years in the most unlikely place – Texas. It’s fun to read a vampire story in a rural setting, like in Charlaine Harris’s “Stookie Stackhouse” novels, but the two series are incomparable. Ms Sparks gives us a plus-size heroine, which Jean-Luc found refreshing. He’s tired of skinny models that are really shallow. I like Heather’s strong will and Jean-Luc was kind to her irritating ex-husband considering the things he said. Some people are just normally deranged and unreasonable. Heather is also perceptive so her suspicions are spot on. Her daughter is adorable too. I enjoyed the small town setting, there are the usual characters, Coach is equally annoying by the way, and her friend Sasha was really full of herself it’s no wonder she was easily manipulated. We have a new addition of a supernatural being who’s not exactly a new character. Jean-Luc really knows how to put on the charm and his skills in seduction. I enjoyed their moments together. Looking forward to Ian’s story, it really got me excited....more

I didn't read the description so I didn't know what to expect, but it worked out well for me.
There's the usual instant attraction between mortal and vampire but what I appreciated is the parallel sides of both the Vampire and human world. I just love the vampiric counterparts, DVN is really amusing.
After four years, Darcy still couldn't get over the truth that she's a vampire. It took a mortal, Austin, to set her straight. I love the reality show and the goings on, it's easy to imagine watching it on primetime television.
Aside from all that, my annoyance with the ex-harem diminished when I tried to understand where they came from and what era they lived in. They surely made a lot of progress and came a long way to being empowered.
Darcy again is presented a choice, something she didn't have before. I was a little disappointed with Austin at first but he soon proved his love for Darcy in a very clear way. I just love how science and fiction blended well in this story.
I'm looking forward to the next in the series!...more
