I liked that Charlie and Jack look really plain and vanilla, but they started to spice things up in their marriage. Every couple should revamp or rekindle their flame, specially when the roles of being husband and wife takes a backseat to the parenting roles.
I'm not saying everyone should go anal or have a threesome, but find something new, explore together and just be glad to have each other.
What I like about Selena Kitts novels, specially when it involves couples, is the romantic element. Sure there's off-the-charts hot sex but her characters seem real.
I've read a lot of stories with a bit of anal sex, but not as much as this. It doesn't diminish my appreciation for it, but I continue to look forward to reading more of Ms Kitt's stories....more

I didn't read the description, I just read it without any expectations other than knowing it's gonna be a page-turner, and I was right. I finished it in no time.
A Winter wedding is something I want too, and this is Kyle's story.
I hated him in Brandon and Olivia's story of course ,'cause cheating is a sore subject for me. I know I must find it in my heart to forgive, but the person (regardless of gender) who is unfaithful is unforgivable and irredeemable in my eyes. I'm an all or nothing kind of person and it may seem narrow-minded but that's my stand on the subject.
Brenda's story just changed my perspective towards Kyle, because this is HIS side. He did cheat with the intention of getting back at Olivia, because he was hurt that she went away to pursue her dreams. To him, it was like they've broken up and maybe they did because they weren't together, as in together as a couple because Olivia left him.
He owned up his mistakes by marrying Noelle and living with her. He tried to love her and make her happy but some people are just difficult, if not impossible to please. With all that has happened, he suffered enough with the consequences. I took pity on him, after knowing what he's still going through even after the divorce from the malicious Noelle. Brenda really knows how to build a character you'd love to hate.
The story brought out emotions, strong ones. Our newcomer, Lourdes Bennett, an outsider, is set to find some clarity.
Whiskey Creek was just what Lourdes needed. Her life was spiraling downward and she doesn't know which way was up. It's the pressure of expectations from everyone, and being in the limelight does takes its toll. I really felt for her when she's going crazy with suspicion, which turned out to be not unfounded. Yes she shed tears, but she also knew how to get back up.
She and Kyle had chemistry from the start. Both of them resisted each other but eventually had to give in. Their lovemaking was really hot, even though it was a less-than-stellar first time. Ms Novak added an exciting/naughty scene outside Eve's BnB.
I was surprised by the ending (yes, it's HEA) and didn't see it coming but I liked the part where fences were mended and awkward situations were talked about, for those fences to mend.
I have to admit, my emotions are still running high but it gives me a warm feeling, a bit of like sitting in front of a hearth with a fire blazing, drinking a cup of hot cocoa, only I don't have that since I live in a tropical country and we don't have fireplaces here, but you get the picture.
So settle in for another awesome read and welcome yourself to warmth in the Winter at Whiskey Creek....more

I knew from reading numerous Brenda Novak stories that this is going to be good, with all the mystery surrounding the sister, but I got blindsided by this. I like the way it was written, I didn't know whether to focus on the rekindled love interest between Maisey and Rafe, or the possible murder that happened, or maybe both 'cause the author constantly shifts the reader's attention.
Ms Novak is a very versatile author, most of her novels tug at my heartstrings, specially the Whiskey Creek series which is still going strong, and this one has a dark cloud hanging over it, that worked for me.
There's Maisey who's trying to rebuild her life after the divorce, and Keith who doesn't want to be helped, their controlling mother who can't help but be her self, and the sister everyone talks about in hushed whispers.
I understand this may not impress other readers, maybe because they are not used to this brilliant author's writing style, but I was happy with the novel and the ending lifted the veil of gloom. That's the spoiler I could give, that this one does not disappoint because of the hapy ending....more

I believe in the paranormal and mixed with historical romance this book was a killer (pun intended).
Though it took time before I finished this, I seriously appreciated everything from the writing style, mystery, characters, and sensual scenes between Emme and Rhys. Her gift is also a curse since she's always been a subject of suspicion and even Rhys was doubtful of her abilities at first.
I liked how the story was laid out and how things naturally progressed. It's a bit predictable for some cases and impressively shocking for others since I was thrown for a loop.
I'll definitely watch out for this author and her other works....more

If you're familiar with "The Helions of Halstead Hall", then you might find some similarities between that and this, but only because of the condition of marriage. Aunt Heloise (Grandma Hester in HOHH) wanted Mason to start a family right away, while Grandma Hester just wanted to see her grandchildren find their true loves and stand on their own feet, since she has a few years left due to old age.
Enough with the similarities. I liked the story and the characters here. This is the first Cora Seton story I've read and my interest is piqued. She really wrote chemistry between Mason and Regan; I liked their light banter when it wasn't serious and they caught each other's attention with their quick wit. Mason is no-nonsense, he really could accomplish things once he has this single-minded focus, and I could say the same for Regan.
They met in an unusual circumstance since they're not in each other's cards at first. I liked the transition from casual to long-term between them. There were no flowery words from Mason, as he got down and dirty right away when they arrived Crescent Hall. It's his passion for this childhood home that attracted him to Regan even more, and it's her passion for restoring old houses that made her stay, apart from being in love with Mason.
The thing I liked the most in the story is there weren't any sugar-coated lies, they came clean with each other about their own plans and eventually those plans mingled. Everything sounded like a business transaction at first but it soon became friendship, attraction, sexual chemistry/lust, and finally love.
I'm looking forward to reading other works of Ms. Seton....more

We're presented an exciting weekend of a group of friends in their 40s who have a reunion before a reunion in a beach cabin owned by Maggie, our charming heroine who's a freelance writer focused on food blogging /reviews.
There's really no action here but mostly dialogue. They were reminiscing from 2 decades ago, and life's lessons that brought them to the now, and shaped them to who they are right now.
I find the exchanges very in touch with real life, and carefree, specially the group who's trying to match Maggie and Gil. They're really adorable together and the tone of their flirting was light and it's as if years didn't happen and they still make each other feel the same way.
There's a happy ever after and it seemed like the climax of the story too....more
