this book is just...so...predictable. and like...just...what even.
okay so i guess maybe if you're younger than me you might like it if you're into ththis book is just...so...predictable. and like...just...what even.
okay so i guess maybe if you're younger than me you might like it if you're into this kind of books. i wanted to read it because i thought it would be a fun summer read.
the best thing about this book is the setting..which is a beach. and there is one cute bonfire on the beach scene which i'm a sucker for. but the rest of the book is pretty...mediocre.
so Anna, Frankie and Matt are BFF until something happens...like someone dies. and then obv everything changes.
the title refers to the plan of meeting 20 boys in the hopes of getting rid of Anna's Albatross (her virginity)... the characters are 16 YEARS OLD AND THEY'RE PLANNING SUCH THINGS?! like????
also one of them bought an $80 (£50) swimsuit like i just..idek...why waste money?!
so what happens? well...
someone dies everyone cries they go on holiday they meet boys they have fun frankie uncovers anna's secret anna uncovers frankie's secret they don't talk/fight then they make up and everything is fine
honestly my fave part about this book was the beach...the descriptions of the ocean and the water and the sand...it's very picturesque and as someone who loves the beach and the ocean it was really nice. i wish i was on a beach right now.
anyways..if you like books about friendship, grief, boys and love i guess then give this a try. i mean it's defo not for everyone.
Happy Reading =)
p.s *SPOILER ALERT* Anna loses her albatross... ...more
so i eventually decided to read this book even though i bought it YEARS ago.
it's about this girl yelena who ends up becoming the food taster to the cso i eventually decided to read this book even though i bought it YEARS ago.
it's about this girl yelena who ends up becoming the food taster to the commander.
it reminded me of throne of glass...but this book actually came out BEFORE throne of glass so idk. yelena is alright i mean i think she's poc as she's described as having bronze skin (but it's not a tan lol) so that's a plus and she is pretty badass.
the love story part is pretty predictable.
HOWEVER HER BACK STORY IS HELLA CREEPY AND I FEEL SO BAD LIKE URGH GOOD SHE KILLED HIM HE TOTES DESERVED IT SMH.
but obv she has to be some super powerful magic person or whatever so i guess i'll read the second book and find out. the only thing this didn't have was pretty dresses or fancy balls like i live for those kind of things i fantasy books WHERE THEY LIVE IN A CASTLE AND SHOULD HAVE AT LEAST ONE BALL WHERE EVERYONE DRESSES NICELY AND SOMETHING BIG HAPPENS.
but anyways this is actually a pretty good book, predictable at times because it's similar to throne of glass but i do look forward to reading the sequel and finding out what happens next.
if you like throne of glass, fantasy books, fantasy books with female protagonists then try this.
Happy Reading! =)
p.s there are other poc characters in this book so yay for diversity
this book is really short and is...a musical. so it's a play. so it's really easy to read and it's a fun read. i love tiny cooper so to hear his voicethis book is really short and is...a musical. so it's a play. so it's really easy to read and it's a fun read. i love tiny cooper so to hear his voice again was good...and i was basically singing all the songs to myself so that was fun.
if you liked Will Grayson, Will Grayson and if you love Tiny Cooper then you should read this. also if you like musicals...or just want a fun read.
it's a different experience..kind of reminded me of reading shakespeare plays in school.
someone really needs to make this into a proper musical show. i would so watch that.
Happy Reading! =)
p.s the song that sums up tiny cooper is actually the Cary Rae Jepsen song I Really Like You...more
