I've been down some roads with good ole' Nicholas that really didn't float my boat, so I am so happy to report good news!
"I understand Ira." This book follows the love stories of 2 couples from two different time periods: Ira and Ruth and Sophia and Luke.
The whole book for me was about 4 questions: What is going to happen to Ira and Ruth's collection? Is Ira going to survive this car accident? Can Sophie and Luke find a way to make their relationship work? How do all 4 of them somehow connect?
Spoilers: While the ending was pretty darn unlikely unlikely, I still enjoyed myself. I guess I wasn't looking for a magic fix, I wanted something a bit more real world. (Hence the 4 stars) I was terrified toward the end, knowing sparks, that there was going to be a tragedy. A Luke tragedy to be specific. And, I think I would have threw this book across the room if he went there!
With this book, seeing the previews of the movie really worked out awesome for me. It gave me faces and I think the casting was a great choice based off of what I read. I am frothing at the mouth to go see thus now!
4 fantastic stars.
Bonus points too for using a cowboy, but not making him this huge redneck! Country people can be smart, strong and have more going on than what's on the surface.
Edit: just saw movie...it was cute, but went off the story. I liked the book better! ...more

What am I going to do with myself when I'm finished?!??!?!! (Atleast next week TrueBlood is starting back up right?!?!?!?)
Notes to self on this one: Sandra Pelt is after Sookie. Bob the cat is actually back with her witchiness!!! Said witch sticks her nose where it doesn't belong and runs her mouth to Alcide about Eric and Sookie's bond being broken. Sookie throws Tara a baby shower. Sookie finds a letter from her Grandma: Confessions of lusting after a fairy man. Sookie also finds the cluvical door Sookie ends up naked in bills' cubbie hole (not what you think, although Bill and Sook seem to be repairing their relationship) Victor the douche is dead, thanks to Sookie and Bill and Eric and BUBBA Good ole Bubba "performs" Eric and Sookie are in a not so wonderful state... Eric's maker apparently promised him to the Queen of Oklahoma before he died. Sookie is pissed!
So curious if Eric can/will get out of this?!?!??!
4 stars (and I think this book was better than the last few)
12 down, 1 to go. Sometimes I could just shout for joy when I finish a series, but I'm a bit sad about starting the last book (today).

This one was not my fave. Spoilers ahead err'body.
Eric is annoying. I can't believe I just typed that. I am a huge Northman fan. But, DANG! He really needs to communicate with Sookie. This whole pre-arranged marriage crap his maker pulled is annoying. Either tell SS your are dumping her or dump OK! I am over that storyline. I am worried about this last book now.... especially since Eric stormed off from that whole cluviel door/sam reviving scene. And, speaking of Sam; what the flip is up with him? He is almost acting vampiric or mad a sookie. Big Sigh.
Also, I couldn't get myself really invested in the whole "who-killed-Kym" plot. I guess it's because I didn't care about her being dead?!?!? For that negative, atleast Sam's were-beeeoch is out of the picture now!!!
I'm a little sad that all the fairies are gone...especially Dermont. And, what's up with Sookie's miracle grow lawn??? HMMMMM.....
This was close to a 4 star-er for me.
Thank you Charlaine Harris for making me want THIS Oreo just happens to be my favorite too! ...more

Not because they are cute or cool or even appealing for that matter, but because I wondered why the heck Sookie was riding a Tiger and a vampire was grabbing at it's tail. You see, in the show True Blood, I don't recall such a tiger being present, so you know about cats and curiousity right?!?!?
With all that being said, this was my least favorite book so far.... SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT!!!!!!
This one was a filler book for me. What's the point of Quinn? Why is he (after what 5 seasons??) not on the show (if I'm not mistaken, even if he is on the show he definitely does not have a huge role like he does in the past two books)???? I can't help but want to just scream "get to the point already" or Where's Eric or Bill or even Alicide, who the heck is Quinn the freaking Tiger???
Also, Hadlee definitely has a little larger of a role on the show in some ways.... but this book, kills her off. With that being said, her story was much more in depth with the book, so bonus points there.
At the end of this, I feel sorry for Sookie. She is just sleeping around with Quinn (it feels like to me) to pacify her hurt over Bill's betrayal. Oh, yeah note to self: don't forget this is the book where Sookie finds out about Bill being sent to spy on her by the Queen.
3.5 stars and I still am addicted, I'm still a fan and I can't wait to read the next book.
And by the way, I started my True Blood Marathon. I am a happy girl :)...more
So, Bill has been keeping some secrets from Sookie and now he is missing, well not just missing; he has been kidnapped. And, of courseSPOILERS AHEAD.
So, Bill has been keeping some secrets from Sookie and now he is missing, well not just missing; he has been kidnapped. And, of course Sookie is going to get to the bottom of things. We get to meet Alcide OW, OW, OW as he is posing as Sookie's fake new boyfriend so she can listen in on all the people in Club Dead to see if Bill's wereabouts will be announced. This one is full of sexual tension between Sookie and pretty much every guy around.... She is missing her vampiric sex and lusting all around town.
When Bill is found and saved, Sookie is glad he is alive, yet something has stirred within her. She is mad. She even takes back their invite into her home. Hmmmmm.
I am in love with these books! I just ordered $50 worth of paperbacks yesterday and I am foaming at the mouth for more :)
And, as always, I am still team Northman.
(Although Alcide was pretty amazing in this one.... anyone but freaking Bill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)...more

I am still very much team Northman! That scene with the bullet sucking was so vivid, I couldn't help but smile. These books make me have a deep appreciation for Charlaine Harris and also all the actors/directors/writers for True Blood. Good Lord, they know what they are doing. I am drooling, I want to do a TB marathon so bad I can't stand it.
If you haven't read these books, remedy that. If you haven't watched the show, get on it.
i actually really enjoyed this movie.... I can not stand Miley Sirus, but you almost forget it's her in the film. I didn't read the book, too many Nici actually really enjoyed this movie.... I was pleasantly suprised by this book. I thought I might grt bored, but it. was like a stroll down memory lane. Yes, the show is still better....but this book was a good time. It. took me back to when I still liked Bill and wasn't rooting for eric. It was a little rushed though, it seemed like sook and bill just had an instant love. It took me back to a more innocent sookie. Now, all I want to do is get out my tv on dvd and marathon it.
I have to also note this was nowhere near as nasty/gritty/steamy as the show. I wonder if the next books get more hawt??!!! Super pumped to read the next books.
