But, Lena is not sure if she is actually a Goblin or not. He Father might have been, he left when she was a little girl, and now, on her 18th birthday he has left her some money and a map to her inheritance in Scree (the place where felons and "Peculiars" go). So, naturally against her Mother's and Grandmothers wishes, she is determined to go. She has to know the truth, whatever that may be. Along the way, she meets Jimson the librian to Mr. Beasley. They are very interesting themselves. Lena is in a unfamiliar land and doesn't know who to trust. The obvious choice of the "police Marshall" or these people who took her in.
Well, this was enjoyable and different. Lena and Jimson were a fun pair, but there was something a little lacking for me. I think I wanted a little more story. It was like we got all this story on Mr. Beasley and Lena's life, but the moments in Scree were really rushed. I'm sure there is another book and that's why I'm feeling that way.

I got my wish.... Quinn is out of the picture now and Eric had more appearances in this book! He also magically remembers his "time" with Sookie, although I am a bit dissapointed with the lack of communication between them on this. I am hoping for some drama soon! Alcide is now the pack leader, after the Were-War that Sookie got sucked into. Sookie meets her "great-grandfather" who is a fairy, whom she wants to know, yet can't completely trust. I'm with her, I need answers.
Sookie also finds out Hadlee had a kid, so she is an "Aunt". This kid is also like her, a tele-path. So, I'm hoping for an appearance or two on his part.
Jason and Crystal are officially over. She cheated, she got caught. Sookie is pissed at her part in her punishment. Jason is on her crap-list.
Sookie saves Eric and the new king, or whatever he is.... and now has official protection from her #1 vampire :)
Bill is still trying to get Sookie back, or atleast know he is sorry.

Okay, so I obviously didn't hate this considering I devoured it within one day. In a way I love books like this, not very time consuming, but on the other hand, I just spent 18 bucks and I feel like I didn't get my money's worth.
So, I really liked the name Solo for our main fella. Really different. He was likeable, for the most part. I couldn't help but root for him.
The whole concept of this was really cool. Evening's Mother is a huge, rich scientist who unknown to her daughter, genetically altered her into a Mod. She is now someone who is pretty much invincible. While being held "hostage" at her mom's lab, Evening meets Solo, who has some very deep, dark, disturbing secrets of her Mother's to share. She also passes time by creating a virtual human, per her mom's request.
Well, Adam could have been so much more. He had zero depth. Everything just wrapped up into a nice little bow at the end. I don't buy it. I don't like it. It was rushed and lazy, in my opinion... the ending that is. I needed a lot more from Eve's Mom. She went to being top witch to a decent person in all of 2 minutes.... ummmm, I have a little problem with that.

This is all about the vampire covention. Sookie is being paid to go by Queen Sophie-Anne. She is to listen to all the humans around to see if they are being honest, to see if they know anything. Sookie is also planning on meeting up with her squeeze, Quinn, who is planning all the events. She also finds out somethings about his past, that could potentially be deal breakers. Of course, things go wrong at this convention. Sookie and Barry (that's right, the other telepath) join forces.
Meh. This was not my favorite one. I enjoyed any of them moments Eric was involved in. I'm ready for Quinn and Sookie to go their seperate ways. I think I might even prefer Bill over Quinn.... and that's saying something.
Here's to hoping the next book has more ERIC in it!!!

Not because they are cute or cool or even appealing for that matter, but because I wondered why the heck Sookie was riding a Tiger and a vampire was grabbing at it's tail. You see, in the show True Blood, I don't recall such a tiger being present, so you know about cats and curiousity right?!?!?
With all that being said, this was my least favorite book so far.... SPOILERS FROM HERE ON OUT!!!!!!
This one was a filler book for me. What's the point of Quinn? Why is he (after what 5 seasons??) not on the show (if I'm not mistaken, even if he is on the show he definitely does not have a huge role like he does in the past two books)???? I can't help but want to just scream "get to the point already" or Where's Eric or Bill or even Alicide, who the heck is Quinn the freaking Tiger???
Also, Hadlee definitely has a little larger of a role on the show in some ways.... but this book, kills her off. With that being said, her story was much more in depth with the book, so bonus points there.
At the end of this, I feel sorry for Sookie. She is just sleeping around with Quinn (it feels like to me) to pacify her hurt over Bill's betrayal. Oh, yeah note to self: don't forget this is the book where Sookie finds out about Bill being sent to spy on her by the Queen.
3.5 stars and I still am addicted, I'm still a fan and I can't wait to read the next book.
And by the way, I started my True Blood Marathon. I am a happy girl :)...more

This was such a great idea: it was like journal entries from real passengers of the Titanic. There was a good many characters, so this was a bit slow/hard to follow in the beginning. I enjoyed myself after the initial start up. I was dreading the doom that I knew was coming, but found the ending scenes to be a bit lackluster. I guess I just expected a lot more emotion....
All in all, this was a good read. With so many characters, there is someone each of us can relate to. Now, I sort of want to go watch the Titanic movie.... but just the first happy part. So sad to really just think about this tragedy. The statistics/info in the back of the book were also interesting! ...more

(Were-Tiger) *Someone burns Sookies house *Someone is shooting Shifters *Bill starts dating Selah and brings her around Merlottes often *Sookie is sort of single. She is confused over Eric, Bill, Alcide and now Quinn *Sookie reveals to Eric what happened during their time together
Well, this one is defitinely a filler book. But, Mrs. Harris knows what she is doing because that ending was enough to get the mojo pumping for the next book. There are lots of unresolved issues, so we know lots of emotions are boiling. I am still team Northam and a little jealous over Sookie's possession of that calender. Le Sigh. I am still addicted to this series. I am enjoying comparing the books with the show. I do think the show is somewhat better.... it digs deeper for the most part. I do wonder why they left out some of these characters? Are they going to make a future appearance? Is Sookie going to turn out to be a fairy in these books? See, I have lots of unresolved questions going on.... and I am digging it.

This was my one of my favorite moments of HBO'S Trueblood. I really felt like we got to see Eric's vulnerable side. A tender, loving Eric. I loved him in his gym clothes and when Sookie and him went off into their own little winter world. This book didn't dig deep enough into either of their emotions for me. I wanted them to connect more. Fingers crossed for the next book. And, the witch story wasn't as intense as it was on the show. The writers of the series really took the idea in the book and went wild, in a most awesome way.
As always, I am Team Northman.
4 stars and a highly addicted reader. Now, onto #5. Slightly dissapointed in the writing with this one. I just wanted more. Everything was lacking polish and development for me....

The middle was intense, fast-paced, made my stomach do a couple loop-de-loops and I had a blast. The end, slowed back down and sort of made me feel like I had a hangover. All in all, I would say I had a good time. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
For those of you who haven't read this, I highly suggest it. This is kind of like the Percy Jackson books, except for the girl version, with a lot more romance and sexual vibes. I found myself completely in love with Helen and Lucas. The doomed, yet destined love/hate story was so readable. The whole Gods and demigods thing was written very interestingly, it took backseat for a while, until Helen realized the truth.
I have to admit I was not thrilled with that ending.
Spoilers up ahead:
I did not like Daphne, Helen's mom. I hope her character goes away soon in the next book. I don't trust her. I feel sorry for Helen. I hate that Lucas can't read her truth-o-meter, becuase she really believes what she is saying. I am very curious to find out the truth.
O' Holy Night, this was good!
Book #2 will be on my currently-reading tab pretty quick-like ;)

So, Bill has been keeping some secrets from Sookie and now he is missing, well not just missing; he has been kidnapped. And, of course Sookie is going to get to the bottom of things. We get to meet Alcide OW, OW, OW as he is posing as Sookie's fake new boyfriend so she can listen in on all the people in Club Dead to see if Bill's wereabouts will be announced. This one is full of sexual tension between Sookie and pretty much every guy around.... She is missing her vampiric sex and lusting all around town.
When Bill is found and saved, Sookie is glad he is alive, yet something has stirred within her. She is mad. She even takes back their invite into her home. Hmmmmm.
I am in love with these books! I just ordered $50 worth of paperbacks yesterday and I am foaming at the mouth for more :)
And, as always, I am still team Northman.

I am still very much team Northman! That scene with the bullet sucking was so vivid, I couldn't help but smile. These books make me have a deep appreciation for Charlaine Harris and also all the actors/directors/writers for True Blood. Good Lord, they know what they are doing. I am drooling, I want to do a TB marathon so bad I can't stand it.
If you haven't read these books, remedy that. If you haven't watched the show, get on it.
