Ok so this book picks up basically where book 1 left off, which I liked. It doesn't stay that way though, its actually a lot different than book 1, there is more action, enemies become friends, new character's are introduced, What I especially liked about this book was the newly made friendship between Roseline and Nicolae. It was nice to see him go from creepy to a close friend and someone she became able to depend on in her journey to try and find Gabriel. Also as you know in book 1 (if you have read it) Roseline turned Gabriel at the end, but we find out he is much more than just an Immortal, I'm not gonna say what he is because I don't wanna spoil too much. But he is basically thrust into a whole other world and he has to learn this world and how to survive it or he will die. He basically has to learn who he really is. Another pivotal point was when Roseline FINALLY gets her revenge on Vladamir, and she got it good. Fane plays a big part in Roseline's part of the book, which at first he is none too happy about, but he get's over it I guess you could say and again becomes the one who wants to protect Roseline. I feel bad for him considering his feelings for her, but not too bad because I'm team Gabriel all the way! HAHA. The book switches between Roseline's point of view and Gabriel's since they are in separate places at the moment. One thing I did miss in this book was my Roseline/Gabriel romance, but, that being said, it didn't make me like the book any less.
Overall, if you liked book 1, you will like this book, lots of twists, lots more action. I will definitely continue the series as I can't wait to find out what happens with these characters. ...more

First i have to start off byI recieved a copy of this for review by the author so first i want to thank her for generously letting me read her book.
First i have to start off by saying "What a cliffhanger!". Wow, was so not expecting that one. But thats what makes a good book. Anyway, so this book, pretty much follow's the fallout of Miku (who now calls herself Red) turning. And boy did she turn. That is one angry Angel, if you can even call her that anymore. This book pretty much jumps right into action from the start. And throughout the book the Guardians are left to deal with the fallout of Miku having turned and all the chaos and distruction she has caused as well as the fact that they have not found the Triplex and there is the ever-present issue of the Emmy/Marcus/Ameana triangle... well not really a triangle at this point its more Emmy & Marcus and a very pissed off and bitter Ameana. But i guess i can't blame her, even though im team "Emmy" when it comes to Marcus. There is trouble at every turn for these Angels and human, and i think thats what keeps it interesting, you never know whats gonna happen next. And this book has proven to be the book that has the most shocks and revelations in it. This series just gets better with each book. I dont know how i can wait until Jan. for book 4! The suspense will probably kill me! HAHA. Great book from a great author. Would so recommend this. ...more

While i have only read a few books about angels this one really stands out among themI was generously given a copy of this book in return for a review
While i have only read a few books about angels this one really stands out among them as one of the good ones. I found myself reading it so long sometimes at night, i would look up and all of a sudden it would be 4am when it only seemed as though minutes passed. I'll try to give my review without giving away too much of the book but i'm not always so good at doing that so here's to hoping haha.
The book center's around a group of angels called Guardians who are sent to Earth to basically save the world, and they only get one clue which ends up being a girl named Emerson (or Emmy as she is often called), so she is essentially thrust from her life into a world of angels and gods and evil that has apparently surrounded her all the time though she never knew it. The thing i liked about Emmy is that she had always felt like she was unwanted, but she was still willing to help save a world she didn't feel she should be in in the first place. I found that to be a very good quality in her. Emmy ends up falling for the first Guardian, Marcus who returns her feelings but is with another of the Guardians, which causes quite a bit of problems for the 3 of them to say the least. There are 6 Guardians who need Emmy's help to like i said, save the world, and they have to do so while at the same time protecting not only themselves from harm but Emmy as well as the evil of the world wants to destroy what they are trying to save. All the Guardians were very likable (AMimi .... maybe not as much as she is the you-know-what of the crew) but the rest of them were very likable and had quite entertaining personalities. I really liked that the book could go from everything to being find to possibly the death of someone within a few pages, there is alot of action in this book which i also found enjoyable, it was not overdone as some books are. Overall i would definately recommend this book, it has drama, romance, action, good vs. evil, forbidden love, race against time stuff - so if you like that kinda thing you will definately like this book, i very much enjoyed it and look forward to the other books in the series.
Congrats Veronica, you have done it again! Again you have written a story that i could not put down. And this isn't even my usual genre of reading! BuCongrats Veronica, you have done it again! Again you have written a story that i could not put down. And this isn't even my usual genre of reading! But i absolutely loved it. You have proven you can not only write for the YA (i'm still in love with "Something Witchy This Way Comes" by the way") but that you can write just as great for the older crowd. I read this book in 2 days. I loved the story, i think it's something every girl/woman can relate to in a sense of first loves and having our hearts broken and how after that we kinda wanna protect ourselves from the world. In reality had a girl's first love come back to town - more than likely she would be the one chasing him, so i loved that it was the other way around in this story, just goes to show that there are guys out there that aren't complete and total a** holes. I loved the bantering back and forth between Shelby and Logan, i found it fun and entertaining. I mean i think every girl wishes they had a Logan in their lives. And i loved that Shelby was a strong and independent woman who could, if she had to, stand on her own two feet. Alot of books portray the female as weak and so i was glad to read something that did not do that. This was a very refreshing, fun, entertaining read, and i would suggest it to anyone who likes a good romance. Happy Reading! =)...more

I really liked this book, it kept me glued to it from the day i started reading, i really liked the romance between Elizabeth and Lev, even though i do wish it was hightened a bit more. The story was really good. It's about a girl named Elizabeth who has lost both her parent's, and is being taken care of by her guardian Jimmie. They move back to her parent's hometown where she is thrust into an unknown danger, because of who her parent's were. She is plagued by nightmares of being killed while a guy just stands in the background and watches but doesn't try and help and these nightmare's feel so real. She see's Lev at school and is stunned to see he is the guy in her nightmare's who just stand's aside as she is killed. When they finally do communicate, after she is in a accident and he saves her, she finds out he is a angel who she has been in love with in her past lives, and that she dies young in all her lives and he plans to intervene in this one and save her, even though it will take him away from her. Elizabeth goes through quite alot in this book, which i cannot even imagine going through, she seem's to be a magnet for accident's, plus she has someone out to kill her. Then she has to live knowing the guy she loves is going to pretty much die to save her and she has to go on living afterward without him.
I would recommend this to not only people who like a good paranormal romance story, but also to people who like realistic stories about loss and fear and danger. This book does a good job of putting together a paranormal romance but with a very realistic story of a girl who has to go through and deal with alot. I will definitely continue this series and would recommend it for sure. Happy reading!...more

MY REVIEW: I have been given the privilage of reading all of Veronica's books she has released so far for review, and she has yet to disappoint me! I loved this book, a very enchanting new take on Cinderella, clad with vampire's, werewolves and sorcerer's! I wanted more when i finished it. The character's were very likable, and it always kept me wanting to know what was gonna happen next. The story is written in alternating perspectives between the 2 main character's which made you root for them that much more. Anyone who loves a good paranormal love story or fairytales retold will devour this book, and if that isn't your usual genre read it anyway! LOL. I look forward to what Veronica will do next as she has become one of my favorite author's. Great book!...more

This book will now be added to my "favorite's" list. I really, really loved it. The storyline was that type of story that will keep you on the edge of your seat and then just when you think you know what is going to happen its something totally different. For a little bit about what the book is about, its about a girl named Roseline who is married off to the guy every has come to know as Dracula and he slaughters everyone at the wedding and turns her, but they don't call themselves vampires, they call themselfs "Immortals". Well Roseline is continually tortured and beaten by her husband (Vladimir) over like a 300 some odd year time span and she runs away to America from Romania where she lived with her husband and his equally evil brother. When she gets to America she joins high school to be normal and makes friends with a brother and sister, and ends up being basically the hottest girl in school, but not purposely. There she meets Gabriel and he is basically in love from the moment he lays eyes on her while she is very hesitant to get close to him for fear of putting him in danger. Well as the story progresses you gind out Gabriel is not really all the way human himself but he doesn't realize it. And Roseline and Gabriel, can we say HOT? I think i was begging them to hook up while reading it than they were in the book! And i was totally not expecting the action in the end, which i totally loved, Nicolae turned out to be a good guy when through the whole book you think he is not one. I SOO cannot wait for the next book! If you haven't read this you really should its a really great and exciting read....more
